Several mutants of Escherichia coli that had lost their ability to synthesize delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) via the C5 pathway were isolated. Their defective loci were classified into two groups, AlaA- and AlaB-. The genes that complemented these mutations were cloned. Nucleotide sequencing indicated that the gene that complemented AlaA- was identical to hemL which is located at 4 min on the E. coli chromosome and encodes glutamate 1-semialdehyde aminotransferase. The gene complementing AlaB- contained an open reading frame (ORF) encoding a polypeptide of 207 amino acids that was found to be a new gene involved in the synthesis of ALA via the C5 pathway. Thus, we designated the gene hemM. The hemM gene was adjacent to hemA that is located at 27 min and previously thought to encode glutamyl-tRNA dehydrogenase. However, we found that hemA complemented both the AlaA- (hemL) and AlaB- (hemM) mutants defective in the C5 pathway although the transformants showed small colonies on the selective medium without ALA. These results suggest that hemA is not involved in the C5 pathway, but controls a second, minor pathway for the synthesis of ALA.  相似文献

The gene from Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli for glutamate 1-semialdehyde (GSA) aminomutase, which is involved in the C5 pathway for synthesis of -aminolevulinic acid (ALA), was cloned onto a multicopy plasmid, pUC18, by the complementation of an ALA-deficient mutant (hemL) of Escherichia coli. Subcloning of deletion fragments from the initial 3.5-kb chromosomal fragment allowed the isolation of a 1.7-kb fragment which could complement the hemL mutation. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the 1.7-kb DNA fragment revealed an open reading frame (ORF) that is located downstream from a potential promoter sequence and a ribosome-binding site. The ORF encodes a polypeptide of 429 amino acid residues, and the deduced molecular mass of this polypeptide is 45,043 Da. The amino acid sequence shows a high degree of homology to the HemL proteins from other organisms, and a putative binding site for pyridoxal 5-phosphate is conserved. Correspondence to: Y. Salmonella typhimurium forms the heme precursor delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) exclusively from glutamate via the five-carbon pathway, which also occurs in plants and some bacteria including Escherichia coli, rather than by ALA synthase-catalyzed condensation of glycine and succinyl-coenzyme A, which occurs in yeasts, fungi, animal cells, and some bacteria including Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Rhodobacter capsulatus. ALA-auxotrophic hemL mutant S. typhimurium cells are deficient in glutamate-1-semialdehyde (GSA) aminotransferase, the enzyme that catalyzes the last step of ALA synthesis via the five-carbon pathway. hemL cells transformed with a plasmid containing the S. typhimurium hemL gene did not require ALA for growth and had GSA aminotransferase activity. Growth in the presence of ALA did not appreciably affect the level of extractable GSA aminotransferase activity in wild-type cells or in hemL cells transformed with the hemL plasmid. These results indicate that GSA aminotransferase activity is required for in vivo ALA biosynthesis from glutamate. In contrast, extracts of both wild-type and hemL cells had gamma,delta-dioxovalerate aminotransferase activity, which indicates that this reaction is not catalyzed by GSA aminotransferase and that the enzyme is not encoded by the hemL gene. The S. typhimurium hemL gene was sequenced and determined to contain an open reading frame of 426 codons encoding a 45.3-kDa polypeptide. The sequence of the hemL gene bears no recognizable similarity to the hemA gene of S. typhimurium or E. coli, which encodes glutamyl-tRNA reductase, or to the hemA genes of B. japonicum or R. capsulatus, which encode ALA synthase. The predicted hemL gene product does show greater than 50% identity to barley GSA aminotransferase over its entire length. Sequence similarity to other aminotransferases was also detected.  相似文献

Several promoters from Propionibacterium freudenreichii subsp. shermanii were isolated using a promoter probe vector, pCVE1, containing the Streptomyces cholesterol oxidase gene (choA) as a reporter gene. Three of four promoters isolated exhibiting a strong activity in Escherichia coli also expressed a strong activity in P. freudenreichii subsp. shermanii IFO12426. Using two promoters with a strong activity and a previously constructed shuttle vector, pPK705, shuttling between E. coli and Propionibacterium. we constructed expression vectors for propionibacteria. To overproduce 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), which is the first intermediate in the synthesis of porphyrins, the ALA synthase gene (hemA) from Rhodobacter sphaeroides was recombined with the expression vectors. The activity of ALA synthase in the recombinant P freudenreichii subsp. shermanii increased about 70-fold that in the strain without a vector. The recombinant Propionibacterium produced ALA at a maximum concentration of 8.6 mM in the absence of levulinic acid, an inhibitor of ALA dehydratase, with 1% glucose as a carbon source. The recombinant P. freudenreichii accumulated 18.8 mmol/g cells ALA in the presence of 1 mM levulinic acid and 30 mM glycine. The construction of an efficient expression vector will facilitate genetic studies of a vitamin B12 producer, Propionibacterium.  相似文献

Pseudomonas sp. strain ACP is capable of growth on 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) as a nitrogen source owing to induction of the enzyme ACC deaminase and the subsequent conversion of ACC to alpha-ketobutyrate and ammonia (M. Honma, Agric. Biol. Chem. 49:567-571, 1985). The complete amino acid sequence of purified ACC deaminase was determined, and the sequence information was used to clone the ACC deaminase gene from a 6-kb EcoRI fragment of Pseudomonas sp. strain ACP DNA. DNA sequence analysis of an EcoRI-PstI subclone demonstrated an open reading frame (ORF) encoding a polypeptide with a deduced amino acid sequence identical to the protein sequence determined chemically and a predicted molecular mass of 36,674 Da. The ORF also contained an additional 72 bp of upstream sequence not predicted by the amino acid sequence. Escherichia coli minicells containing the 6-kb clone expressed a major polypeptide of the size expected for ACC deaminase which was reactive with ACC deaminase antiserum. Furthermore, a lacZ fusion with the ACC deaminase ORF resulted in the expression of active enzyme in E. coli. ACC is a key intermediate in the biosynthesis of ethylene in plants, and the use of the ACC deaminase gene to manipulate this pathway is discussed.  相似文献

Copper-resistant strains of Xanthomonas campestris pv. juglandis occur in walnut orchards throughout northern California. The copper resistance genes from a copper-resistant strain C5 of X. campestris pv. juglandis were cloned and located on a 4.9-kb ClaI fragment, which hybridized only to DNA of copper-resistant strains of X. campestris pv. juglandis, and was part of an approximately 20-kb region which was conserved among such strains of X. campestris pv. juglandis. Hybridization analysis indicated that the copper resistance genes were located on the chromosome. Plasmids conferring copper resistance were not detected in copper-resistant strains, nor did mating with copper-sensitive strains result in copper-resistant transconjugants. Copper resistance genes from X. campestris pv. juglandis shared nucleotide sequence similarity with copper resistance genes from Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato, P. syringae, and X. campestris pv. vesicatoria. DNA sequence analysis of the 4.9-kb fragment from strain C5 revealed that the sequence had an overall G+C content of 58.7%, and four open reading frames (ORF1 to ORF4), oriented in the same direction. All four ORFs were required for full expression of copper resistance, on the basis of Tn3-spice insertional inactivation and deletion analysis. The predicted amino acid sequences of ORF1 to ORF4 showed 65, 45, 47, and 40% identity with CopA, CopB, CopC, and CopD, respectively, from P. syringae pv. tomato. The most conserved regions are ORF1 and CopA and the C-terminal region (166 amino acids from the C terminus) of ORF2 and CopB. The hydrophobicity profiles of each pair of predicted polypeptides are similar except for the N terminus of ORF2 and CopB. Four histidine-rich polypeptide regions in ORF1 and CopA strongly resembled the copper-binding motifs of small blue copper proteins and multicopper oxidases, such as fungal laccases, plant ascorbate oxidase, and human ceruloplasmin. Putative copper ligands of the ORF1 polypeptide product are proposed, indicating that the polypeptide of ORF1 might bind four copper ions: one type 1, one type 2, and two type 3.  相似文献

We have recently reported (M. Petricek, L. Rutberg, I. Schr?der, and L. Hederstedt, J. Bacteriol. 172: 2250-2258, 1990) the cloning and sequence of a Bacillus subtilis chromosomal DNA fragment containing hemA proposed to encode the NAD(P)H-dependent glutamyl-tRNA reductase of the C5 pathway for 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) synthesis, hemX encoding a hydrophobic protein of unknown function, and hemC encoding hydroxymethylbilane synthase. In the present communication, we report the sequences and identities of three additional hem genes located immediately downstreatm of hemC, namely, hemD encoding uroporphyrinogen III synthase, hemB encoding porphobilinogen synthase, and hemL encoding glutamate-1-semialdehyde 2,1-aminotransferase. The six genes are proposed to constitute a hem operon encoding enzymes required for the synthesis of uroporphyrinogen III from glutamyl-tRNA. hemA, hemB, hemC, and hemD have all been shown to be essential for heme synthesis. However, deletion of an internal 427-bp fragment of hemL did not create a growth requirement for ALA or heme, indicating that formation of ALA from glutamate-1-semialdehyde can occur spontaneously in vivo or that this reaction may also be catalyzed by other enzymes. An analysis of B. subtilis carrying integrated plasmids or deletions-substitutions in or downstream of hemL indicates that no further genes in heme synthesis are part of the proposed hem operon.  相似文献

The nucleotide sequence of a 4.39-kb DNA fragment encoding the alpha-glucosidase gene of Candida tsukubaensis is reported. The cloned gene contains a major open reading frame (ORF 1) which encodes the alpha-glucosidase as a single precursor polypeptide of 1070 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 119 kDa. N-terminal amino acid sequence analysis of the individual subunits of the purified enzyme, expressed in the recombinant host Saccharomyces cerevisiae, confirmed that the alpha-glucosidase precursor is proteolytically processed by removal of an N-terminal signal peptide to yield the two peptide subunits 1 and 2, of molecular masses 63-65 kDa and 50-52 kDa, respectively. Both subunits are secreted by the heterologous host S. cerevisiae in a glycosylated form. Coincident with its efficient expression in the heterologous host, the C. tsukubaensis alpha-glucosidase gene contains many of the canonical features of highly expressed S. cerevisiae genes. There is considerable sequence similarity between C. tsukubaensis alpha-glucosidase, the rabbit sucrase-isomaltase complex (proSI) and human lysosomal acid alpha-glucosidase. The cloned DNA fragment from C. tsukubaensis contains a second open reading frame (ORF 2) which has the capacity to encode a polypeptide of 170 amino acids. The function and identity of the polypeptide encoded by ORF 2 is not known.  相似文献

The complete nucleotide sequence of pRGO1, a cryptic plasmid from Propionibacterium acidipropionici E214, was determined. pRGO1 is 6, 868 bp long, and its G+C content is 65.0%. Frame analysis of the sequence revealed six open reading frames, which were designated Orf1 to Orf6. The deduced amino acid sequences of Orf1 and Orf2 showed extensive similarities to an initiator of plasmid replication, the Rep protein, of various plasmids of gram-positive bacteria. The amino acid sequence of the putative translation product of orf3 exhibited a high degree of similarity to the amino acid sequences of DNA invertase in several bacteria. For the putative translation products of orf4, orf5, and orf6, on the other hand, no homologous sequences were found. The function of these open reading frames was studied by deletion analysis. A shuttle vector, pPK705, was constructed for shuttling between Escherichia coli and a Propionibacterium strain containing orf1 (repA), orf2 (repB), orf5, and orf6 from pRGO1, pUC18, and the hygromycin B-resistant gene as a drug marker. Shuttle vector pPK705 successfully transformed Propionibacterium freudenreichii subsp. shermanii IFO12426 by electroporation at an efficiency of 8 x 10(6) CFU/microg of DNA under optimized conditions. Transformation of various species of propionibacteria with pPK705 was also performed at efficiencies of about 10(4) to 10(7) CFU/microg of DNA. The vector was stably maintained in strains of P. freudenreichii subsp. shermanii, P. freudenreichii, P. pentosaceum, and P. freudenreichii subsp. freudenreichii grown under nonselective conditions. Successful manipulation of a host-vector system in propionibacteria should facilitate genetic studies and lead to creation of genes that are useful industrially.  相似文献

Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci strain PTBR2.024 produces tabtoxin and causes wildfire disease on tobacco and green bean. PTBR7.000, a Tn5 mutant of PTBR2.024, does not produce tabtoxin, is nonpathogenic on tobacco, and is prototrophic. A 3-kb fragment from a genomic library of the parent strain PTBR2.024 complemented both mutant phenotypes. This 3-kb fragment contains two open reading frames (ORFs), ORF1 and ORF2, and two truncated ORFs, ORF3 and ORF4. The Tn5 insert in PTBR7.000 was mapped to ORF2, and complementation studies showed that an intact ORF2 was sufficient to restore tabtoxin production and pathogenicity. The deduced amino acid sequences of ORF2 and truncated ORF3 contain significant homology to bacterial lysine biosynthetic enzymes, diaminopimelate decarboxylase, and delta 1-piperidine-2,6-dicarboxylate succinyl transferase, respectively. ORF2, however, is not required for lysine biosynthesis. We designated the sequence corresponding to ORF2 as gene tabA and propose that the product of tabA is an enzyme in the tabtoxin biosynthetic pathway that recognizes a substrate analogue of a compound in the lysine biosynthetic pathway.  相似文献

A 65-kb region of DNA from Streptomyces viridochromogenes Tü57, containing genes encoding proteins involved in the biosynthesis of avilamycins, was isolated. The DNA sequence of a 6.4-kb fragment from this region revealed four open reading frames (ORF1 to ORF4), three of which are fully contained within the sequenced fragment. The deduced amino acid sequence of AviM, encoded by ORF2, shows 37% identity to a 6-methylsalicylic acid synthase from Penicillium patulum. Cultures of S. lividans TK24 and S. coelicolor CH999 containing plasmids with ORF2 on a 5.5-kb PstI fragment were able to produce orsellinic acid, an unreduced version of 6-methylsalicylic acid. The amino acid sequence encoded by ORF3 (AviD) is 62% identical to that of StrD, a dTDP-glucose synthase from S. griseus. The deduced amino acid sequence of AviE, encoded by ORF4, shows 55% identity to a dTDP-glucose dehydratase (StrE) from S. griseus. Gene insertional inactivation experiments of aviE abolished avilamycin production, indicating the involvement of aviE in the biosynthesis of avilamycins.  相似文献

A mutant defective in aciduricity, GS5Tn1, was constructed following mutagenesis of Streptococcus mutans GS5 with the conjugative transposon Tn916. The mutant grew poorly at acidic pH levels and was sensitive to high osmolarity and elevated temperatures. These properties resulted from a single insertion of Tn916 into the GS5 chromosome, and the DNA fragment harboring the transposon was isolated into the cosmid vector, charomid 9-20. Spontaneous excision of Tn916 from the cosmid revealed that Tn916 inserted into a 8.6-kb EcoRI fragment. On the basis of the restriction analyses of insert fragments, it was found that Tn916 inserted into a 0.9-kb EcoRI-XbaI fragment. Nucleotide sequence analysis of this fragment indicated the presence of two open reading frames, ORF1 and ORF2. By using a marker rescue strategy, a 6.0-kb HindIII fragment including the target site for Tn916 insertion and the 5' end of ORF1 was isolated and sequenced. The deduced amino acid sequences of ORF1 and ORF2 showed significant homology with the diacylglycerol kinase and Era proteins, respectively, from Escherichia coli. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the Tn916 insertion junction region in the GS5Tn1 chromosome revealed that the transposon inserted near the 3' terminus of ORF1. Restoration of ORF1 to its original sequence in mutant GS5Tn1 was carried out following transformation with integration vector pVA891 containing an intact ORF1. The resultant transformant showed wild-type levels of aciduricity as well as resistance to elevated temperatures and high osmolarity. These results suggest that the S. mutans homolog of diacylglycerol kinase is important for adaptation of the organism to several environmental stress signals.  相似文献

The gene from Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli that is involved in the C5 pathway of -amino-levulinic acid (ALA) of Escherichia coli. Subcloning of deletion fragments from the initial 2.5-kilobase (kb) chromosomal fragment allowed the isolation of a 1.6-kb fragment that could complement the hemM mutation. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the 1.6-kb DNA fragment revealed an open reading frame that encodes a polypeptide of 426 amino acid residues, and the deduced molecular mass of this polypeptide is 46768 Da. The amino acid sequence shows a high degree of homology of the HemA protein, which is glutamyl-tRNA reductase, to other organisms. Thus, we examined the complementation test of the cloned gene from Xanthomonas with a hemA mutation of E. coli and found that the gene complemented the hemA mutation. These results suggest that the cloned gene is hemA and the gene from Xanthomonas also complements both hemA and hemM mutations, as in the case of the E. coli hemA. Correspondence to: Y. The green sulfur bacterium, Chlorobium vibrioforme, synthesizes the tetrapyrrole precursor, -aminolevulinic acid (ALA), from glutamate via the RNA-dependent five-carbon pathway. A 1.9-kb clone of genomic DNA from C. vibrioforme that is capable of transforming a glutamyl-tRNA reductase-deficient, ALA-dependent, hemA mutant of Escherichia coli to prototrophy was sequenced. The transforming C. vibrioforme DNA has significant sequence similarity to the E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, and Bacillus subtilis hemA genes and contains a 1245 base open reading frame that encodes a 415 amino acid polypeptide with a calculated molecular weight of 46174. This polypeptide has over 28% amino acid identity with the polypeptides deduced from the nucleic acid sequences of the E. coli, S. typhimurium, and B. subtilis hemA genes. No sequence similarity was detected, at either the nucleic acid or the peptide level, with the Rhodobacter capsulatus or Bradyrhizobium japonicum hemA genes, which encode ALA synthase, or with the S. typhimurium hemL gene, which encodes glutamate-1-semialdehyde aminotransferase. These results establish that hemA encodes glutamyl-tRNA reductase in species that use the five-carbon ALA biosynthetic pathway. A second region of the cloned DNA, located downstream from the hemA gene, has significant sequence similarity to the E. coli and B. subtilis hemC genes. This region contains a potential open reading frame that encodes a polypeptide that has high sequence identity to the deduced E. coli and B. subtilis HemC peptides. hemC encodes the tetrapyrrole biosynthetic enzyme, porphobilinogen deaminase, in these species. Preliminary evidence was obtained for the existence of a 3.0-kb polycistronic meassge that includes the hemA sequence, in exponentially growing C. vibrioforme cells. Results of condon usage analysis for the C. vibrioforme hemA gene indicate that green sulfur bacteria are more closely related to purple nonsulfur bacteria than to enteric bacteria. Sequences corresponding to a polyadenylation signal and a poly(A) attachment site were found immediately downstream from the 3 end of the hemA open reading frame.  相似文献

Burkholderia cepacia AC1100 utilizes 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) as a sole source of carbon and energy. PT88 is a chromosomal deletion mutant of B. cepacia AC1100 and is unable to grow on 2,4,5-T. The nucleotide sequence of a 5.5-kb chromosomal fragment from B. cepacia AC1100 which complemented PT88 for growth on 2,4,5-T was determined. The sequence revealed the presence of six open reading frames, designated ORF1 to ORF6. Five polypeptides were produced when this DNA region was under control of the T7 promoter in Escherichia coli; however, no polypeptide was produced from the fourth open reading frame, ORF4. Homology searches of protein sequence databases were performed to determine if the proteins involved in 2,4,5-T metabolism were similar to other biodegradative enzymes. In addition, complementation studies were used to determine which genes were essential for the metabolism of 2,4,5-T. The first gene of the cluster, ORF1, encoded a 37-kDa polypeptide which was essential for complementation of PT88 and showed significant homology to putative trans-chlorodienelactone isomerases. The next gene, ORF2, was necessary for complementation and encoded a 47-kDa protein which showed homology to glutathione reductases. ORF3 was not essential for complementation; however, both the 23-kDa protein encoded by ORF3 and the predicted amino acid sequence of ORF4 showed homology to glutathione S-transferases. ORF5, which encoded an 11-kDa polypeptide, was essential for growth on 2,4,5-T, but the amino acid sequence did not show homology to those of any known proteins. The last gene of the cluster, ORF6, was necessary for complementation of PT88, and the 32-kDa protein encoded by this gene showed homology to catechol and chlorocatechol-1,2-dioxygenases.  相似文献

A 2.6-kb BamHI fragment from the genome of the wild-type, nikkomycin-producing strain of Streptomyces tendae ATCC 31160 was cloned and sequenced. This 2.6-kb BamHI fragment corresponds to the DNA site where transposon Tn4560 had inserted to create a nikkomycin-nonproducing mutant. A possible ORF of 660 nucleotides was found in this 2.6-kb BamHI fragment, in which the third base of each codon was either G or C in 92% of the codons. The deduced amino acid sequence coded by this ORF (TarA, tendae autoregulator receptor) shows strong homology with several Gamma-butyrolactone-binding proteins that negatively regulate antibiotic production in other streptomycetes and have a helix-turn-helix DNA-binding motif. A portion (179 nucleotides) of tarA that encodes the helix-turn-helix motif was replaced with ermE, and wild-type S. tendae was transformed with this construct borne in pDH5, a gene-disruption vector. Southern hybridization indicated that ermE had inserted in the 2.6-kb BamHI region in one isolate that is erythromycin resistant. Northern hybridization indicated that tarA disruption significantly increased the amount of disrupted-tarA mRNA. This suggests that TarA negatively regulates its own synthesis. Nikkomycin production by the tarA disruptant was delayed but reached the wild-type level after longer incubation in production medium.  相似文献

Nonpathogenic mutants of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, generated from transposon mutagenesis, accumulated extracellular polygalacturonate lyase, alpha-amylase, and endoglucanase in the periplasm. The transposon Tn5 was introduced by a mobilizable, suicidal plasmid, pSUP2021 or pEYDG1. Genomic banks of wild-type X. campestris pv. campestris, constructed on the broad-host-range, mobilizable cosmid pLAFR1 or pLAFR3, were conjugated with one of the mutants, designated XC1708. Recombinant plasmids isolated by their ability to complement XC1708 can be classified into two categories. One, represented by pLASC3, can complement some mutants, whereas the other, represented by a single plasmid, pLAHH2, can complement all of the other mutants. Restriction mapping showed that the two recombinant plasmids shared an EcoRI fragment of 8.9 kb. Results from subcloning, deletion mapping, and mini-Mu insertional mutation of the 8.9-kb EcoRI fragment suggested that a 4.2-kb fragment was sufficient to complement the mutant XC1708. Sequence analysis of this 4.2-kb fragment revealed three consecutive open reading frames (ORFs), ORF1, ORF2, and ORF3. Hybridization experiments showed that Tn5 in the genome of XC1708 and other mutants complemented by pLASC3 was located in ORF3, which could code for a protein of 83.5 kDa. A signal peptidase II processing site was identified at the N terminus of the predicted amino acid sequence. Sequence homology of 51% was observed between the amino acid sequences predicted from ORF3 and the pulD gene of Klebsiella species.  相似文献

The citrate utilization determinant from a large 200-kilobase (kb) naturally occurring plasmid was previously cloned into the PstI site of plasmid vector pBR325 creating the Cit+ tetracycline resistance plasmid pWR61 (15 kb). Tn5 insertion mutagenesis analysis of plasmid pWR61 limited the segment responsible for citrate utilization to a 4.8-kb region bordered by EcoRI and PstI restriction nuclease sites. The 4.8-kb fragment was cloned into phage M13, and the DNA sequence was determined by the dideoxyribonucleotide method. Within this sequence was a 1,296-base-pair open reading frame with a preceding ribosomal binding site. The 431-amino-acid polypeptide that could be translated from this open reading frame would be highly hydrophobic. A second long open reading frame with the potential of encoding a 379-amino-acid polypeptide preceded the larger open reading frame. Portions of the 4.8-kb fragment were further subcloned with restriction endonucleases BglII and BamHI, reducing the minimum size needed for a citrate-positive phenotype to a 1.9-kb BamHI-BglII fragment (which includes the coding region for the 431-amino-acid polypeptide, but only the distal 2/3 of the reading frame for the 379-amino-acid polypeptide). Citrate utilization results from a citrate transport activity encoded by the plasmid. With the 4.8-kb fragment (as with larger fragments) the citrate transport activity was inducible by growth on citrate. On transfer from glucose, succinate, malate, or glycerol medium to citrate medium, the Cit+ Escherichia coli strains showed a delay of 36 to 48 h before growth.  相似文献
