New durophagous arthrodires from Gogo, Western Australia

Three new monotypic genera of eubrachythorarid arthrodires with crushing toothplates are described from the Upper Devonian Gogo Formation of Western Australia as Bruntonichthys multidens gen. et sp. nov., Bullerichthysfascidens gen. et sp. nov. and Kendrickkhthys cavemosus gen. et sp. nov. Their structure and relationships are discussed within the framework provided by a sketch cladogram. All three are interchangeable with Coccosteus spp. but their phylogenetic relationships are not known in any detail. However, Kendrickkhthys does appear to be immediately related to Dinomylostoma from North America.     

A primitive eubrachythoracid arthrodire from Gogo, Western Australia

A new eubrachythoracid arthrodire, Hanytoombsia elegans gen. et sp. nov., is described from the Upper Devonian Gogo formation of Western Australia. Its structure and relationships are discussed within the framework provided by a new sketch cladogram for arthrodires. H. elegans is morphologically similar to Coccosteus cuspidatus , but its relationships among primitive eubrachythoracids are unknown.     

A new species of eastmanosteid arthrodire (Pisces: Placodermi) from Gogo, Western Australia

A new species of Eastmanosteus Obruchev is described from the Upper Devonian Gogo Formation of Western Australia as E. calliaspis sp. nov. It is at the pachyosteomorph level of organization having no contact between the plates of the flank and those of the ventral shield behind the pectoral fin. Well preserved material of the parasphenoid and scapulocoracoid throws further light on the structure of these elements in arthrodires. The genus Eastmanosteus is reviewed.

A pachyosteomorph arthrodire from Gogo, Western Australia

A new monotypic genus of eubrachythoracid arthrodire is described from die Upper Devonian Gogo Formation of Western Australia as Incisoscutum ritchiei gen. et sp. nov. It is at die pachyosteomorph level of organization, having no contact between the plates of die flank and those of the ventral shield behind the pectoral fin. It is interchangeable widi Coccosteus spp. and a number of earlier described Gogo forms in a sketch dadogram for arthrodires, but its phylogenedc relationships are unknown. Well preserved material of die scapulocoracoid throws new light on die structure of this element in arthrodires, particularly widi respect to variations in die pattern of canals and foramina.

依据从2000年到2002年采自贵州赤水、习水以及梵净山等地的隐织蛾属Cryptolechia Zeller昆虫标本,研究报道了中国贵州的隐织蛾昆虫14种,包括11新种:拟弯带隐织蛾C.proximideflecta sp.nov.,苔隐织蛾C.muscosa sp.nov.,独带隐织蛾C.solifasciaria sp.nov.,棒隐织蛾C.spinifera sp.nov.,齿隐织蛾C.denticulata sp.nov.,叉隐织蛾C.furcellata sp.nov.,阔隐织蛾C.latifascia sp.nov.,尖隐织蛾C.acutiuscula sp.nov.,束隐织蛾C.fasciculifera sp.nov.,钩隐织蛾C.hamatilis sp.nov.和凹隐织蛾C.concaviuscula sp.nov.。首次报道了葛氏隐织蛾C.gei Wang的雌性个体。文中提供了新种的外生殖器特征图。模式标本保存在南开大学生物系。     

A STUDY OF CRYPTOLECHIA ZELLER (LEPIDOPTERA: OECOPHORIDAE) IN CHINA (II): SPECIES FROM GUIZHOU PROVINCE

Abstract  The present paper reports fourteen species of the genus Cryptolechia from Guizhou Province, China. Eleven species are described as new: C. proximideflecta sp. nov., C. muscosa sp. nov., C. solifasciaria sp. nov., C. spinifera sp. nov., C. denticulata sp. nov., C. furcellata sp. nov., C. latifascia sp. nov., C. acutiuscula sp. nov., C. fasciculifera sp. nov., C. hamatilis sp. nov. and C. concaviuscula sp. nov. The female of C. gei Wang is reported for the first time, and the genital structures of the new species are illustrated.     

中国隐毒甲属分类研究及四新种记述

记述中国隐毒甲属Cryphaeus Klug, 1833的4新种: 短角隐毒甲C. brevicornus sp. nov.,长角隐毒甲C. longicornus sp. nov.,短毛隐毒甲C. barbellatus sp. nov.和歪角隐毒甲C. obliquicornus sp .nov.。模式标本保存在河北大学博物馆。给出中国及部分周边地区已知种雄性和雌性检索表。     

Taxonomic review of the genus Coelopisthia F?rster (Hymenoptera:Pteromalidae) from China,with four new species

The pteromalid genus Coelopisthia from China is studied with eight species including four new species and two newly recorded species: C. dasycladus sp. nov., C. gracilentus sp. nov., C. pseudaletia sp. nov., C. condensus sp. nov., C. areolata Askew and C. caledonica Askew. A key to Chinese species is provided. All the specimens are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.     

A Revision of Early To Mid Ordovician Hyoliths from Sweden

Hyolith assemblages of early to mid Ordovician age in Sweden include the hyolithids Hyolithus bisulcatus Holm, H. concinnus Holm and H. innotatus Holm, which are confirmed as representatives of Hyolithes Eichwald. Dorsolinevitus Syssoiev is known from D. dispar (Holm), D. textilis (Holm) and D. vomer (Holm), and Carinolithes Syssoiev is represented by C. hospes (Holm) and C. triumvir (Holm). Sulcavitus caelatus (Holm), the type species that forms the basis for a family and even an order according to some, is redescribed; the order is suppressed. Hyolithus cymbium Holm is transferred to Stelterella gen. nov., and Theca crispata (Boll) is now the type species of Crispatella gen. nov. The unusual orthothecid Quadrotheca quadrangularis (Holm) is redescribed; the concept of Trapezotheca aemula (Holm) is emended, and Semielliptotheca dens (Holm) is transferred to Trapezotheca . Semielliptotheca Syssoiev is poorly known from only one species, S. rosmara (Holm), and that genus is now considered to be unrecognizable. Hyolithus exaratus Hadding is identified as closely related to the gastropod Lytospira norvegica Koken, and specimens of Hyolithus sp. nos 11, 12 and 13 Holm and Hyolithus sp. indet. Wiman, remain to be located.     

The deepest vertebrate fossil and other arctolepid fishes*

A new genus and species of arctolepid arthrodire, Qataraspis deprofundis is based on an anterolateral plate recovered from a bore-hole in Qatar, Persian Gulf at a depth of nearly two and a half miles. It is compared with the corresponding plates of all known arctolepid arthrodires, particularly those referred to the undefined genus Kujdanoteiaspis Stensiö. The British species K. anglica is described in detail and referred to a new genus, Heightington-aspis, and a specimen from the Senni Beds of the Black Mountains is described as Ailuracantha dorsifelis gen. et sp. nov.     

STUDIES ON THE CHINESE COLEOPHORIDAE (LEPIDOPTERA): COLEOPHORA SALICORNIAE GROUP WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF TWELVE NEW SPECIES*

Abstract This paper deals with twenty-nine species of Coleophora salicorniae group of Coleophoridae. Among them, twelve species (Coleophora lativalva sp. nov., C. ossaedeaga sp. nov., C. pendulivalvula sp. nov., C. novisqualorella sp. nov., C. capitargentella sp. nov., C. curvidentatella sp. nov., C. dorsiproducta sp. nov., C. harbinensis sp. nov., C. xinjiangensis sp. nov…C. cuprea sp. nov., C. pallidiptera sp. nov. and C. resupina sp. nov.) are described as new to science and fifteen species are newly recorded from China. Carpochena halostachyos Falkovitsh is proposed as a synonym of Coleophora plicipunctella Chrètien. Genitalia of new species are illustrated and females of Coleophora armeniae Baldizzone et Patzak, C. carchara Falkovitsh and C. sequens Falkovitsh are described for the first time. A key to Chinese species of Coleophora salicorniae group is given.
