In this paper we consider the fractional order model with two immune effectors interacting with two strain antigen. The systems may explain the recurrence of some diseases e.g. tuberculosis (TB). The stability of equilibrium points are studied. Numerical solutions of this model are given. Using integer order system the system oscillates. Using fractional order system the system converges to a stable internal equilibrium. Ulam-Hyers stability of the system has been studied.  相似文献

The spindle checkpoint is an evolutionarily conserved mitotic regulatory mechanism that ensures that anaphase is not attempted until chromosomes are properly aligned on the spindle. Two different cell-cycle transitions must be inhibited by the spindle checkpoint to arrest cells at metaphase and prevent mitotic exit. The checkpoint proteins interact in ways that are more complex than was originally envisioned. This review summarizes the evidence for two pathways of spindle-checkpoint regulation in budding yeast. We describe how the proteins are involved in these pathways and discuss the ways in which the spindle checkpoint inhibits the cell-cycle machinery.  相似文献

The germline micronuclear genome of some ciliated protists can be scrambled, with coding segments disordered relative to the expressed macronuclear genome. Here, we report a surprisingly complex pair of genes that assemble from interwoven segments on two germline loci in the ciliate Uroleptus. This baroque organization requires two scrambled genes to be disentangled from each other from two clusters in the genome, one containing segments 1-2-4-5-6-8-11-13-15-16 and the other 7-9-3-10-12-14, with pieces 1-5 comprising the first gene and 6-16 the second gene. Both genes remain linked in the somatic genome on a 1.5-kb "nanochromosome." This study is the first to reveal that two genes can become scrambled during evolution with their coding segments intertwined. These twin scrambled genes underscore the beauty and exceptions of protist genome architecture, pointing to the critical need for evolutionary biologists to survey protist genomes broadly.  相似文献

In the course of a chromosome fragility investigation on the cancer prone hereditary disorder xeroderma pigmentosum, a low proportion of cells with a 47,XY,+21 karyotype was found in lymphocyte cultures of a patient not showing any Down syndrome symptom. The presence of trisomy 21 mosaicism was demonstrated also in peripheral blood of the healthy father and confirmed by "chromosome painting" that allowed a rapid detection of chromosomes 21 on metaphase cells and interphase nuclei. The trisomic cell line was not detected in fibroblast cultures. The analysis of chromosome 21 heteromorphism indicated that in both subjects the mosaic could result from either a diploid or an aneuploid zygote. Since in the trisomic cell line of the father and the son the extra chromosome 21 seems to be the same, a predisposition toward mitotic errors (non-disjunction or anaphase lagging) may be postulated, leading to the recurrent gain or loss of a specific chromosome 21. In order to test the hypothesis of an abnormal mitotic behaviour of the chromosome 21, we investigated the centromere separation index and the DNA restriction pattern in Southern blots probed with satellite DNA sequences specific for chromosome 21 centromere. Both the approaches did not reveal any peculiar feature that may account for the genetically determined proneness to mitotic error observed in the family.  相似文献

The initial yeast two‐hybrid experiment – published in 1989 – described an approach to detecting protein–protein interactions that has flourished over the last two decades, leading to the assembly of large‐scale data sets of these interactions. Yet the yeast assay originated because of the laboratory's interests in technology development, not because of its need to identify partners of any protein then under study. In addition to such motivating forces, other features of the process of originating a technology can be revealed by considering the lessons of the two‐hybrid approach. These include the value of timeliness in a method's development, the willingness of an investigator to try experimental approaches that prove fruitless, the ability of biological macromolecules to display surprising attributes, the benefits of a community expending efforts to expand the uses of a technology platform, and the role of scientific training of those who work in technology.  相似文献

The classical models of interspecific competition are phenomenological, that is, they purport to describe the trajectories followed by the abundances of both competitors, without specifying either mechanisms or the dynamics of what the competition is for, i.e. resources. Yet the conditions for the different outcomes of competition inferred from these models are most often interpreted in terms of resources. Here it is contended that the dynamics of resource supply and exploitation must be explicitly taken into account if these conditions are to be obtained in any accurate form. First, the distinction between perfectly substitutable, imperfectly substitutable and perfectly complementary resources is examined. This leads to an array of models intended to mirror interspecific exploitative competition for two resources for each category considered. Then, the conditions for the coexistence of the two competitors in each case are derived and presented with direct reference to the modes of resource use.  相似文献

Partial trisomy 9p and a 13/14 translocation occurred in the daughter of a t(5;9)(p15;p12) mother and a t(13;14)(p11;q11) father. Two additional offspring displayed a normal karyotype and a translocation trisomy 13 respectively. Two first cousins, selected for chromosome analysis because of a spontaneous abortion, were found to have an identical translocation t(14;21)(p11;q11). Their second pregnancy was monitored by midtrimester amniocentesis and disclosed a balanced fetus. The different zygotic chromosome constitutions and the counselling problems in the marriages between two balanced translocation carriers are discussed.  相似文献

The TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) has well-described anti-inflammatory effects in models of autoimmune disease, including experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). In this issue of Neuron, Aktas, Smorodchenko, and colleagues present evidence that TRAIL exerts anti-inflammatory effects, but also induces neuronal apoptosis, in EAE. This report poses the therapeutic challenge of facilitating TRAIL expression in the periphery while inhibiting TRAIL in the CNS.  相似文献

Summary It has been determined that the occurrence of durable resistance as defined by Johnson and Kranz operates in maize inbred lines CM104 and CM105 against the leaf blight pathogens Setosphaeria turcica (= Exserohilum turcicum) and Drechslera maydis (=Cochliobolus heterostrophus), by analyzing data for 16 and 14 years, respectively. Essentially the methodology estimated the longevity of cultivar resistance by determining whether the regression coefficient of linear regression with years of testing and mean disease intensity is zero or not significantly different from zero. The values for both Turcicum Leaf Blight and Maydis Leaf Blight were not significantly different from zero. The resistant inbred lines have been used in hybrid combinations and have the potential to transmit this resistance to progenies in hybrid combinations that are governed by additive gene action.  相似文献

Effects of Fe2+ ions on the levels of two enzymes (fumarase and mesaconase) with fumarase activity in two Pseudomonads grown under various nutritional conditions were investigated. Fe2+ ions decreased fumarase but increased mesaconase. A high level of mesaconase was found in Ps. arvilla which was unable to metabolize itaconate. The level of mesaconase in the itaconate-grown cells of Ps. fluorescens was almost the same as that in the glucose-grown cells. This suggests that mesaconase is not an enzyme involved in the metabolism of C5-branched-chain dicarboxylates but presumably, taking the place of fumarase, plays a role in the operation of the tricarboxylic acid cycle in the cells grown in the medium containing Fe2+ ions more than 10 nmol/ml.  相似文献
