This study was conducted to isolate endophytic fungi from oilseed rape (Brassica napus), to identify the fungal endophytes based on morphology and ITS (ITS1-5.8S rDNA-ITS2) sequences, and to evaluate their efficacy in suppression of the plant pathogenic fungi Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Botrytis cinerea. Selected endophytic fungal isolates were further tested for promoting growth of oilseed rape in potting experiments. A total of 97 endophytic fungal isolates were obtained from roots (35), stems (49) and leaves (13) of B. napus. Forty fungal species were identified and most species (80%) belong to Ascomycota. The species composition is highly diversified with Simpson’s diversity index reaching 0.959. Alternaria alternata is the dominant species accounting for 12.4% of the isolates. Twenty-four isolates exhibited antifungal activity against S. sclerotiorum in dual cultures on potato dextrose agar forming inhibition zones of 3–17 mm in width. The culture filtrates of Aspergillus flavipes CanS-34A, Chaetomium globosum CanS-73, Clonostachys rosea CanS-43 and Leptosphaeria biglobosa CanS-51 in potato dextrose broth exhibited consistent and effective suppression of oilseed rape leaf blight caused by S. sclerotiorum. Fusarium oxysporum CanR-46 was detected capable of production of volatile organic compounds highly inhibitory to S. sclerotiorum and B. cinerea. Moreover, A. alternata CanL-18, Fusarium tricinctum CanR-70 and CanR-71r, and L. biglobosa CanS-51 exhibited growth-promoting effects on oilseed rape. These results suggest that B. napus harbors diversified endophytic fungi, from which potential biocontrol agents against S. sclerotiorum and B. cinerea, and for promoting growth of B. napus can be screened.  相似文献

We are developing a collection of Bacillus strains, isolated from different environments, for use in controlling Sclerotinia sclerotiorum on oilseed rape in China and elsewhere. Strain BY-2, isolated from internal tissues of an oilseed rape root, was demonstrated to be Bacillus subtilis based on biochemical and morphological characteristics and on 16S RNA gene sequence. Photographic evidence from gnotobiotic studies using the lacZ-tagged strain BY-2(pUC18) confirmed that this strain was capable of colonizing internal root tissues. Strain BY-2 did not effectively colonize the ectorhizosphere or the surface of the stems or leaves of oilseed rape when applied in pellet or wrap seed treatment formulations. Populations of BY-2 dropped from 108 CFU seed−1 to 104 CFU g root−1 and ⩽102 CFU g stem−1 or leaf−1 after 60 days. Strain BY-2 was applied as a pellet seed treatment formulation alone, as a spray at flowering alone, and as the pellet seed treatment formulation combined with the spray application in two field trials at the Wuxue location conducted in two consecutive years. These three treatments containing BY-2 provided disease control (disease incidence) and mean seed yield that was similar to the chemical control treatment and significantly greater than the pellet without bacteria and non-treated control treatments. All three of these BY-2 treatments were similar to each other with regard to these two metrics and to treatments containing B. subtilis Tu-100, a genetically distinct strain previously shown to be effective against this disease. In two additional field trials, conducted in consecutive years at the Wuhan location, strain BY-2 applied as a wrap seed treatment formulation alone, as a spray at flowering alone, and as the wrap seed treatment combined with the spray application provided disease control (disease incidence) and mean seed yield that was similar to the chemical control treatment. These three BY-2 treatments also were significantly greater than the non-treated control treatments and compared favorably to treatments containing Tu-100. There was no evidence of BY-2 promoting growth of oilseed rape when applied in the pellet or wrap seed treatment formulations in field trials conducted at the Wuxue or at the Wuhan locations. We now have three Bacillus strains (B. subtilis strains BY-2 and Tu-100, B. megaterium A6) that control S. sclerotiorum on oilseed rape in the field that can be tested in strain combinations for enhanced disease control. We also have multiple methods for application of Bacillus strains as both seed treatment and foliar applications were effective.  相似文献

Fluorescent Pseudomonas spp., isolated from tomato and pepper plants rhizosphere soil, was evaluated in vitro as a potential antagonist of fungal pathogens. Pseudomonas strains were tested against the causal agents of tomatoes damping-off (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum), root rot (Fusarium solani), and causal agents of stem canker and leaf blight (Alternaria alternata). For this purpose, dual culture antagonism assays were carried out on 25% tryptic soy agar, King B medium and potato dextrose agar to determine the effect of the strains on mycelial growth of the pathogens. In addition, strains were screened for their ability to produce exoenzymes and siderophores. All the strains significantly inhibited Alternaria alternata, particularly in 25% TSA medium. Antagonistic effect on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Fusarium solani was greater on King B medium. Protease was produced by 30% of the strains, but no strain produced cellulase or chitinase. Finally, the selected Pseudomonas strain, Psf5, was evaluated on tomato seedling development and as a potential candidate for controlling tomato damping-off caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, under growth chamber conditions. In vivo studies resulted in significant increases in plant stand as well as in root dry weight. Psf5 was able to establish and survive in tomato plants rhizosphere after 40 days following the planting of bacterized seeds.  相似文献

Gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea is an important disease of strawberry. Clonostachys rosea is a mycoparasite of B. cinerea that reduces fruit losses when used as a biocontrol agent. Since spore production by C. rosea has not been optimized, we investigated factors affecting sporulation under aseptic conditions on white rice grains. The greatest spore production in glass flasks, 3.4 × 109 spores/g-dry-matter (gDM), occurred with an initial moisture content of 46% (w/w wet basis), inoculated with 1 × 106 spores/gDM and hand shaken every 15 days. However, a lower inoculum density (9 × 103 spores/gDM) and no shaking also gave acceptable sporulation. In plastic bags 1.1 × 108 spores/gDM were produced in 15 days, suggesting that larger scale production may be feasible: with this spore content, 24 m2 of incubator space would produce sufficient spores for the continued treatment of 1 ha of strawberry plants.  相似文献

A series of 2,5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazole/thiadiazole sulfone derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their antibacterial activities against rice bacterial leaf blight and leaf streak caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicolaby via the turbidimeter test in vitro. Antibacterial bioassay results indicated that most compounds demonstrated good inhibitory effect antibacterial bioactivities against rice bacterial leaf blight and leaf streak. Among the title compounds, compound 6c demonstrated the best inhibitory effect against rice bacterial leaf blight and leaf streak with half-maximal effective concentration (EC50) values of 1.07 and 7.14 μg/mL, respectively, which were even better than those of commercial agents such as Bismerthiazol and Thiediazole Copper. In vivo antibacterial activities tests at greenhouse conditions demonstrated that the controlling effect of compounds 6c (43.5%) and 6g (42.4%) against rice bacterial leaf blight were better than those of Bismerthiazol (25.5%) and Thiediazole Copper (37.5%).  相似文献

Twelve novel fenfuram-diarylether hybrids were designed, synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and MS. Their in vitro antifungal activities were evaluated against five phytopathogenic fungi by mycelial growth inhibition method. Most compounds showed significant antifungal effect on Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Compound 1c exhibited the most potent antifungal effect on R. solani with an EC50 value of 0.242 mg/L, superior to the commercial fungicide boscalid (EC50 = 1.758 mg/L) and the lead fungicide fenfuram (EC50 = 7.691 mg/L). Molecular docking revealed that compound 1c featured a higher affinity for succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) than fenfuram. Furthermore, it was shown that the 2-chlorophenyl group of compound 1c formed a π-π stacking with D/Tyr-128 and a Cl-π interaction with B/His-249, which made compound 1c more active than fenfuram against SDH.  相似文献

Ten novel fenfuram-diarylamine hybrids were designed and synthesized. And their antifungal activities against four phytopathogenic fungi have been evaluated in vitro and most of the compounds demonstrated a significant antifungal activities against Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Compound 5e exhibited the most potent antifungal activity against R. solani with an EC50 value of 0.037 mg/L, far superior to the commercially available fungicide boscalid (EC50 = 1.71 mg/L) and lead fungicide fenfuram (EC50 = 6.18 mg/L). Furthermore, scanning electron microscopy images showed that the mycelia on treated media grew abnormally with tenuous, wizened and overlapping colonies compared to the negative control. Molecular docking studies revealed that compound 5e featured a higher affinity for succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) than fenfuram. Furthermore, it was shown that the 3-chlorophenyl group in compound 5e formed a CH-π interaction with B/Trp-206 and a Cl-π interaction with D/Tyr-128, rendering compound 5e more active than fenfuram against SDH.  相似文献

Effects of nitrate (2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 g L?1) and salt (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 g L?1) concentrations on biomass production by Spirulina platensis was examined in the Schlösser medium. The highest (p < 0.001) biomass yields and chlorophyll a content was observed at 2.5 g L?1 nitrate and 1.5 g L?1 NaCl as 3.495 g L?1 and 29.92 mg L?1, respectively. Increment rate of biomass production was especially found between 72 and 216 h. Modified Richards, Schnute, Logistic and Gompertz models was successfully predicted (r2 > 0.96 and RSS ? 0.003) biomass production by S. platensis as function of nitrate and salt concentrations. Low residual sum of squares (RSS) and high regression coefficients (r2) indicated that used models were well fitted to the experiment data and it could be regarded as sufficient to describe biomass production of Spirulina sp. Biological variables i.e. production rate (μ) and lag time (λ) for S. platensis ranged 0.012–0.034 h?1 and 2.43–5.85 h, respectively from biomass production were successfully predicted by modified Logistic model according to low RSS and F-testing value.  相似文献

A novel, plant growth-promoting bacterium Delftia tsuruhatensis, strain HR4, was isolated from the rhizoplane of rice (Oryza sativa L., cv. Yueguang) in North China. In vitro antagonistic assay showed this strain could suppress the growth of various plant pathogens effectively, especially the three main rice pathogens (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae, Rhizoctonia solani and Pyricularia oryzae Cavara). Treated with strain HR4 culture, rice blast, rice bacterial blight and rice sheath blight for cv. Yuefu and cv. Nonghu 6 were evidently controlled in the greenhouse. Strain HR4 also showed a high nitrogen-fixing activity in N-free Döbereiner culture medium. The acetylene reduction activity and 15N2-fixing activity (N2FA) were 13.06 C2H4 nmol ml−1 h−1 and 2.052 15Na.e.%, respectively. The nif gene was located in the chromosome of this strain. Based on phenotypic, physiological, biochemical and phylogenetic studies, strain HR4 could be classified as a member of D. tsuruhatensis. However, comparisons of characteristics with other known species of the genus Delftia suggested that strain HR4 was a novel dizotrophic PGPB strain.  相似文献

Northern corn leaf blight (NCLB), an important and potentially destructive corn foliar disease, is caused by Setosphaeria turcica. The intent of this study was to evaluate antifungal metabolites from Chaetomium globosum (Cg) strain No.05 to suppress NCLB in maize. This strain significantly suppressed mycelial growth of numerous phytopathogenic fungi especially S. turcica on potato dextrose agar medium. The secondary metabolites of the strain inhibited mycelial growth and conidial germination of S. turcica. When co-inoculated at three droplets (5 μL/droplet) of conidial suspension (5 × 104 conidia/mL) on each 8-cm-long detached leaf, 20% culture filtrates completely suppressed disease incidence of northern corn leaf blight. The application of the culture filtrates at 2 h post-inoculation (hpi) of S. turcica in greenhouse studies showed a 81.9% inhibition of NCLB on the seedlings, while culture filtrates applied before pathogen inoculation showed even higher rates of disease reduction. The application of the culture filtrates had no observed effects on the treated maize leaves or seedlings. Two active compounds, isolated from the extracts, were identified as chaetoglobosin A and chaetoglobosin C based on the spectroscopic analysis. Both in vitro and in planta bioassay experiments showed that chaetoglobosin A displayed potent biocontrol efficiency against S. turcica. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the evaluation of the inhibitory effects of C. globosum and chaetoglobosin A against S. turcica both in vitro and on detached maize leaves.  相似文献

A granulate biofungicide named PBGG was developed by combining Pseudomonas boreopolis with Brassica seed pomace, glycerin and sodium alginate. Application of 1.0% (w/w) of PBGG to the soil infested with Rhizoctonia solani AG-4 significantly reduced the percentage of colonization of cabbage seeds by the pathogen and stimulated proliferations of actinomycetes. Among Streptomyces populations, Streptomyces padanus (strain SS-07) and Streptomyces xantholiticus (strain SS-09) were the two most effective strains with strong antagonistic effects to R. solani. Application of 1% (w/w) PBGG in soil significantly increased population densities of S. padanus and S. xantholiticus. Treating soil with S. padanus (strain SS-07) or S. xantholiticus (strain SS-09) alone or in combination with 1% (w/w) PBGG significantly reduced the percentage of colonization of cabbage seeds by R. solani, compared to untreated controls. S. padanus was the most effective agent in reducing the percentage of seed colonization by the pathogen. Results of greenhouse tests showed that the most effective treatment was the amendment of pathogen-infested soil by S. padanus + 1% (w/w) PBGG which resulted in a disease incidence of 6.5–8.6%, compared to 27.8–31.7% for the treatment of S. xantholiticus + 1% (w/w) PBGG, 36.9–38.6% for the treatment of 1% (w/w) PBGG alone, and 61.8–64.8% for the treatment of control (unamended soil). Results of greenhouse and field tests also showed that soil amendment of 1% (w/w) PBGG alone or 1% (w/w) PBGG mixed with S. padanus (strain SS-07) or S. xantholiticus (strain SS-09) was not harmful to seed germination of Chinese cabbage. The study suggests that amendment of R. solani infested soil with S. padanus + 1% (w/w) PBGG prior to sowing is an effective method for control of damping-off of Chinese cabbage.  相似文献

Food waste leachate (FWL) from the food waste recycling facilities in Korea is a serious environmental problem. Much research was done on anaerobic digestion of FWL in a lab-scale; however, there is little information on a large scale anaerobic digestion system (ADS). In this study, a two-phase ADS in a pilot scale was operated using FWL and the ADS performance and microbial structure dynamics using pyrosequencing were investigated. The ADS was operated for 136 days using FWL containing a high concentration of volatile fatty acid (12,435 ± 2203 mg/L), exhibiting volatile acid (VS) removal efficiency of 74–89% and CH4 yield of 0.39–0.85 Nm3/kg of reduced VS. The microbial structure at 76, 101, and 132 days indicated the methanogen population shift from acetoclastic methanogens (Methanosarcina and Methanosaeta) to hydrogenotrophic methanogens (Methanobacterium and Methanoculleus). The bacterial community also shifted to the taxa syntrophically related with hydrogenotrophic methanogens (Clostridia). The statistical analysis revealed the positive correlation of VS removal efficiency with Methanosarcina, but the negative correlation with Methanobacterium. The results presented here suggest that acetoclastic methanogens and their associated bacteria were more efficient for VS removal in the pilot scale ADS system, providing useful information for FWL treatment in a large scale ADS.  相似文献

Application of a suspension (log 8.0/ml) of Cryptococcus laurentii prior to harvest led to a reduction in Botrytis cinerea decay of strawberries stored at 4 or 20 °C, for 12 or 4 days, respectively. The frequency of spraying antagonist significantly influenced disease incidence in strawberry fruit. The best inhibition of disease was achieved when fruit sprayed C. laurentii with three applications that began 6 days prior to harvest, and the incidence of gray mold and natural decay treated with this method was 21% and 11%, compared with 88% and 62% in the control after storage at 20 °C for 4 days. A similar result occurred in the treated fruit after storage at 4 °C for 12 days. Dilation plate counts on Rose Bengal agar and scanning electron microscopy results showed that three applications with C. laurentii at 6, 3 and 0 days before harvest improved its ability to colonize the epidermis of strawberry fruit in the greenhouse and during storage compared to single application. In addition, antagonistic yeast spraying before harvest could reduce the weight loss, delay the decrease of the firmness and ascorbic acid, but had no significant effect on the contents of soluble solids, titratable acidity and fruit surface color. These results suggested that preharvest spraying with C. laurentii might be a promising alternative to fungicide application for decay control of strawberry.  相似文献

Cadmium is one of the most toxic substances found in aquatic ecosystems. This metal tends to accumulate in photosynthetic plants and fish and is transferred to humans causing many diseases. It has to be removed from our environment to reduce any health risks. Dry biomass of the microalga (cyanobacterium) Spirulina platensis was used as biosorbent for the removal of cadmium ions (Cd2+) from aqueous solutions. The effects of different levels of pH (3–9), biomass concentration (0.25–2 g), temperature (18–46 °C), metal concentration (40–200 mg/l) and contact time (30–120 min) were tested. Batch cultures were carried out in triplicate in an orbital shaker at 150 rpm. After centrifuging the biomass, the remaining levels of cadmium ions were measured in the supernatant by Atomic Absorption Spectrometer. Very high levels of removal, reaching up to 87.69% were obtained. The highest percentage of removal was reached at pH 8, 2 g of biosorbent, 26 °C, and 60 mg/l of cadmium concentration after 90 min of contact time. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were applied to describe the adsorption isotherm of the metal ions by S. platensis. Langmuir model was found to be in better correlation with experimental data (R2 = 0.92). Results of this study indicated that S. platensis is a very good candidate for the removal of heavy metals from aquatic environments. The process is feasible, reliable and eco-friendly.  相似文献

Nitrilase activity in Fusarium solani IMI196840 (approx. 1500 U l−1 of culture broth) was induced by 2-cyanopyridine. The enzyme was purified by a factor of 20.3 at a yield of 26.9%. According to gel filtration, the holoenzyme was an approx. 550-kDa homooligomer consisting of subunits with a molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa, as determined by SDS-PAGE. Mass spectrometry analysis of the tryptic fragments suggested a high similarity of this enzyme to the hypothetical CN hydrolases from Aspergillus oryzae, Gibberella zeae, Gibberella moniliformis and Nectria haematococca. Circular dichroism and fluorescence spectra indicated that secondary structure content and overall tertiary structure, respectively, were almost identical in nitrilases from F. solani IMI196840 and F. solani O1. The melting temperatures of the enzymes were 49.3 °C and 47.8 °C, respectively. The best substrates for the purified nitrilase from F. solani IMI196840 were benzonitrile and 4-cyanopyridine, which were hydrolyzed at the rates of 144 and 312 U mg−1 protein, respectively, under the optimum conditions of pH 8 and 45 °C. The enzyme was highly chemoselective, producing ≤2% amides as by-products.  相似文献

The goal of this project was the development of a serological test for the detection of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum on oilseed rape petals. Since the fungus exists in two forms on petals, as ascospores and mycelium, the responses of anti-mycelium and anti-ascospore antisera against these two kinds of antigens were compared. Two anti-mycelium sera, Smy and Smy', were produced against mycelial soluble extracts at different concentrations (0.3 mg and 0.1 mg of protein ml-1). Smy gave the greatest response level with eight S. sclerotiorum mycelial extracts tested. It had a very superior level of recognition to that of anti-ascospore serum, Ssp, when mycelium was tested as antigen. In contrast, Ssp and Smy were equally reactive when exposed to ascospores but the sensitivity of the assay was low. For each antiserum, the solution from which ascospores had been removed reacted similarly to the original suspension containing ascospores. A collection of fungi likely to be found on oilseed rape petals was examined. Cross-reactions were produced with both antisera, especially with Botrytis cinerea for which greater cross-reactivities were produced with Smy. The cross-absorption of antiserum Smy with a mycelial extract of B. cinerea considerably reduced this cross-reaction. The choice of antiserum for the development of a reliable detection system is discussed.  相似文献

Compost teas are fermented watery extracts of composted materials that are used for their ability to decrease plant disease. Non-aerated compost teas (NCT) prepared from five types of compost were tested for their ability to inhibit the growth of Alternaria solani, Botrytis cinerea, and Phytophthora infestans in vitro. Weekly applications of NCT were also used in greenhouse trials to assess their suppressive effect on powdery mildew (Oidium neolycopersici) and gray mold (B. cinerea) on tomato plants. All NCT significantly inhibited the mycelial growth of A. solani (37–66%), B. cinerea (57–75%), and P. infestans (100%), whereas sterilized teas did not inhibit growth of the tested pathogens. Although NCT failed to efficiently control powdery mildew, they were able to control tomato gray mold for up to 9 weeks in greenhouse experiments. Among the tested compost teas, NCT prepared from sheep manure compost consistently provided the highest inhibition of mycelial growth and the highest disease suppression, in particular of gray mold (>95% disease reduction). The overall relative efficacy of the various NCT did not correlate well with microbial communities or physico-chemical composition of the prepared NCT. Results also suggest that the presence of the microorganisms in the NCT is a prerequisite for inhibition.  相似文献

A 48 kDa, chitin-binding lectin with antifungal, antiviral and apoptosis-inducing activities was isolated from the rhizomes of Setcreasea purpurea Boom, a member of family Commelinaceae. Setcreasea purpurea lectin (designated as SPL) is a homotetrameric protein consisting of 12031.9 Da subunits linked by non-covalent bonds as determined by SDS-PAGE, gel filtration and MS. The N-terminal 25 amino-acid sequence of SPL, NVLGRDAYCGSQNPGATCPGLCCSK was determined and homology analysis suggested that SPL belongs to the family of chitin-binding plant lectins composed of hevein domains. The lectin exhibited strong hemagglutinating activity towards rabbit erythrocytes at 0.95 μg/ml and the activity could be reversed exclusively by chitin hydrolysate (oligomers of GlcNAc). Its hemagglutinating activity was stable in pH range of 2.0–9.0 and it showed excellent thermal tolerance. SPL showed antifungal activity against Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Penicillium italicum and Helminthosporiun maydis. It also exhibited inhibitory effect on HIV-1 (IIIB) and HIV-2 (ROD), with an EC50 of 13.8 ± 1.3 and 57.1 ± 15 μg/ml, respectively. Subsequently, MTT method, cell morphological analysis and LDH activity-based cytotoxicity assays demonstrated that SPL was highly cytotoxic to CNE-1 cells and induced apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, due to the caspase inhibitors analyses, caspase was also found to play an important role in the potential apoptotic mechanism of SPL.  相似文献

Sclerotinia sclerotiorum causes serious yield losses to many crops worldwide. Aspergillus sp. Asp-4, previously shown to inhibit germination of sclerotia of S. sclerotiorum in vitro and in the field, was evaluated in field trials for suppression of this pathogen on oilseed rape. Spray application of Asp-4 to the soil prior to sowing rice in a rice–oilseed rape rotation resulted in a significant reduction in incidence of Sclerotinia stem rot on oilseed rape compared with the non-treated control in two field trials. This application of Asp-4 also resulted in a significant reduction in germination of sclerotia relative to the non-treated control in these field trials, suggesting that this reduction in sclerotial germination led to disease control. Microscopic examination demonstrated that Asp-4 could effectively colonise external and internal portions of sclerotia of S. sclerotiorum in vitro. Incubation of Asp-4 with sterile sclerotial material induced production of β-glucanase and chitinase activities by this isolate; β-glucanase and chitinase being potentially capable of degrading the glucan and chitin polymeric components of sclerotia. Incubation of Asp-4 with sterile sclerotial material also resulted in a significant reduction in dry weight of this sclerotial material relative to the non-treated control in 96?h in vitro experiments. Experiments reported here indicate that Aspergillus sp. Asp-4 has promise as a biological control agent for S. sclerotiorum on oilseed rape. Experiments reported here suggest that disease control results from inhibition of germination of sclerotial resting structures due to mycoparasitic colonisation by Asp-4.  相似文献

Field trials were carried out to evaluate six treatments combining biological agents and chemical fungicides applied via chemigation against white mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) on processing tomatoes. The experiment was performed in Goiânia, Brazil, with tomato hybrid Heinz 7155 in 2009 and 2010 in a field previously infested with S. sclerotiorum sclerotia. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design in a 2 × 3 factorial structure (with and without Trichoderma spp. 1.0 × 109 viable conidia mL−1 ha−1) × fluazinam (1.0 L ha−1), procimidone (1.5 L ha−1) and control, applied by drip irrigation. Treatments were applied three times 10 days apart, starting one month after transplanting. Each treatment consisted of plots with three 72-meter rows with four plants m−1 and 1.5 m spacing between rows, with three replications. Based on disease incidence evaluated weekly, the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) was obtained. Yield and its components were evaluated in addition to fruit pH and °Brix. Results were subjected to ANOVA, Scott-Knott (5%), and regression analysis. Biocontrol using Trichoderma spp. via chemigation singly or in combination with synthetic fungicides fluazinam and procimidone reduced AUDPC and increased fruit yield up to 25 t ha−1. The best treatment for controlling white mold also increased pulp yield around 1.0 and 7.0 t ha−1 in 2009 and 2010, respectively. The present work demonstrated the advantages of white mold biological control in processing tomato crops, where drip irrigation favored Trichoderma spp. delivery close to the plants and to the inoculum source.  相似文献
