Zusammenfassung Eiwei\kristalloide (Spindeln) sind bisher im Cytoplasma der Schlie\zellen nicht gefunden worden. Auch im Zellkern der Schlie\zellen fehlen die Kristalloide in der Regel. Eine Ausnahme bilden die Schlie\zellen vonCampanula-Alten, ihre Kerne weisen stets Eiwei\spindeln auf. Das Fehlen der Eiwei\kristalloide im Cytoplasma und meist auch im Karyoplasma der Schlie\zellen ist ein bisher kaum beachtetes Symptom der stoffwechselphysiologischen Eigenheit (Idioblastennatur) der Stomatazellen.  相似文献

As the global financial downturn continues, its impact on neuroscientists - both on an individual level and at the level of their research institute - becomes increasingly apparent. How is the economic crisis affecting neuroscience funding, career prospects, international collaborations and scientists' morale in different parts of the world? Nature Reviews Neuroscience gauged the opinions of a number of leading neuroscientists: the President of the Society for Neuroscience, the President Elect of the British Neuroscience Association, the former President of the Japan Neuroscience Society, the President of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies and the Director of the US National Institute of Mental Health. Their responses provide interesting and important insights into the regional impact of the global financial downturn, with some causes for optimism for the future of neuroscience research.  相似文献

A correspondence between open reading frames in sense and antisense strands is expected from the hypothesis that the prototypic triplet code was of general form RNY, where R is a purine base, N is any base, and Y is a pyrimidine. A deficit of stop codons in the antisense strand (and thus long open reading frames) is predicted for organisms with high G + C percentages; however, two bacteria (Azotobacter vinelandii, Rhodobacter capsulatum) have larger average antisense strand open reading frames than predicted from (G + C)%. The similar Codon frequencies found in sense and antisense strands can be attributed to the wide distribution of inverted repeats (stem-loop potential) in natural DNA sequences.  相似文献

In a previous autobiographical sketch for DNA Repair (Linn, S. (2012) Life in the serendipitous lane: excitement and gratification in studying DNA repair. DNA Repair 11, 595–605), I wrote about my involvement in research on mechanisms of DNA repair. In this Reflections, I look back at how I became interested in free radical chemistry and biology and outline some of our bizarre (at the time) observations. Of course, these studies could never have succeeded without the exceptional aid of my mentors: my teachers; the undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and senior lab visitors in my laboratory; and my faculty and staff colleagues here at Berkeley. I am so indebted to each and every one of these individuals for their efforts to overcome my ignorance and set me on the straight and narrow path to success in research. The supposition that rudists may have lived in association with endosymbiotic zooxanthellae has been tested by comparing the shell wall structure of the radiolitid genus Osculigera with the recent bivalve Corculum. It is concluded that the wall structure of the upper valve could have been able to provide endosymbiotic algae in the mantle with light.  相似文献
