Periophthalmus spilotus, a new species of mudskipper from Sumatra (Gobiidae: Oxudercinae)

A new species of mudskipper,Periophthalmus spilotus, is described on the basis of 16 specimens from Sumatra, Indonesia. It differs from other species ofPeriophthalmus by the following combination of characters: pelvic fins totally united into rounded disk; first dorsal fin high, greyish, no spots on fin nor elongate spines; second dorsal fin typically with 14 total elements; anal fin typically with either 14 or 15 total elements; length of anal-fin base 21.8–29.0% SL; and length of second dorsal-fin base 22.5–26.7% SL. This species is most similar to, and probably most closely related to,P. chrysospilos.

A new endemic cyprinid species from the Danube drainage

Populations of endemic Croatian dace were found to belong to two different species, one of which is first described in this study. Telestes karsticus sp. nov. differed morphologically from Telestes polylepis in the total count of lateral line scales, number of gill rakers and the shape of the posterior margin of the anal fin. Morphological differences were corroborated with mtDNA analyses (with p-distance between T. polylepis and T. karsticus sp. nov. ranging between 3·2 and 4·1%; and the number of substitutions between 37 and 47). The newly described species is geographically very localized. It has been recorded from only four localities around Velika Kapela and Mala Kapela mountains in Croatia.     

A new genus and four new species of Eriophyidae from China (Acari: Eriophyoidea)

One new genus and four new species of eriophyoid mites from Hainan, China are described and illustrated in this paper: Dicoxiseta Wang, Tan & Yang, gen. nov., D. litsea Wang, Tan & Yang, sp. nov. infesting Litsea monopetala(Roxb.) Pers.(Lauraceae), Eriophyes casearius Wang, Yang & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Casearia glomerata Roxb.(Flacourtiaceae), Phyllocoptruta alstonia Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Alstonia scholaris(L.) R. Br.(Apocynaceae) and Aculus paederius Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. infesting Paederia scandens(Lour.) Merr.(Rubiaceae). Tegolophus artocarpi Keifer, 1977 is newly recorded from China. E. casearius Wang, Yang & Tan, sp. nov. distorts severely new foliage of its host plant. Three species, P. alstonia Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov., A. paederius Wang, Gu & Tan, sp. nov. and T. artocarpi, cause rust on the undersurfaces of host plants, while D. litsea Wang, Tan & Yang, sp. nov. is a vagrant on the undersurface of host plant leaves, without visible symptom.

异极衣纲一新种和四中国新记录分类单元

异极衣纲Lichinomycetes仅含异极衣目Lichinales,异极衣目内含3科：球蜂窝衣科Gloeoheppiaceae、异极衣科Lichinaceae和盾衣科Peltulaceae。本文基于表型特征对中国异极衣纲地衣分类研究发现新种1个：近叉指盾链衣Digitothyrea subdivergens,中国新记录属1个：指盾链衣属Digitothyrea,中国新记录种3个：白棋盘蜂窝衣Heppia solorinoides、朝氏盾链衣Thyrea asahinae和吉拉氏盾链衣Thyrea girardii,与形态相似种进行了比较和讨论。本研究不仅为中国地衣志的编研积累资料,同时为开展利用地衣结皮实施“沙漠生物地毯工程”储备资源信息。     

中国四川(束束)蝇属一新种团及四新种(双翅目:蝇科)

记述分布于中国四川的棘蝇属Phaonia R.-D.,1830 1新种团：曲股棘蝇种团Phaonia blaesomera group nov.及4新种：曲股棘蝇Phaonia blaesomera sp.nov.:类半月棘蝇Phaonia semilunaroida sp.nov.:黑肩棘蝇Phaonia nigeritegula sp.nov.;黄胫棘蝇Phaonia helvitibia sp.nov.模式标本存北京军事医学科学院微生物流行病研究所医学昆虫标本馆。

本文报道了采自福建省福鼎县的一种新种恙螨,定名为水鼬纤恙螨Leptotrombidium(L.)shuiqui sp.nov.与已知种进行了分析比较。     

A new species of Dendrocerus (Hymenoptera,Megaspilidae) from southern Brazil

A new species of the megaspiline genus Dendrocerus Ratzeburg is described and figured. Dendrocerus riograndensissp. n., is known from a series of males from the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and were captured with Malaise traps from an agricultural tobacco field.

中国栉蝠蛾属一新种(鳞翅目：蝙蝠蛾科)

记述了采自浙江省安吉县刚竹林中的中国栉蝠蛾属Bipectilus一新种,定名为浙江栉蝠蛾Bipectilus zhejiangensis Wang, sp. nov.。该新种与中国栉蝠蛾属其它种的不同点在于：前翅Cu₂脉不与A₁脉相连接;外生殖器上的背兜向两侧分开,钩形突呈角质状。

危害黄杉球果的实小卷蛾属一新种(鳞翅目：卷蛾科)

记述了实小卷蛾属 (小卷蛾亚科,花小卷蛾族)的一个新种,黄杉实小卷蛾Retinia pseudotsugaicola Liu et Wu, sp. nov.。其幼虫危害黄杉Pseudotsuga sinensis Dode的球果,在云南省禄劝县云龙乡球果受害率达80%～90%。该新种雄性外生殖器的抱器瓣在腹面中央凹陷很深,抱器腹拐角几乎呈直角,抱器端的腹角尖,可与该属其它种相区别。该新种的雌性外生殖器与松实小卷蛾R.cristata很相似,但成虫的花纹完全不同,该新种前翅的中横带很宽,且布满了灰绿色和灰黄色的云状纹,而松实小卷蛾前翅的中横带则较窄,翅端有明显的肛上纹。在昆明禄劝县一年发生1代,以蛹在球果中越冬。越冬蛹于翌年3月下旬开始羽化。4月上旬至7月下旬是幼虫危害期。老熟幼虫7月下旬开始陆续化蛹越冬。提供了成虫外形、翅脉、雌雄外生殖器解剖图及幼虫的毛序图。模式标本保存在中国科学院动物研究所。     

A new species of Triatominae from Tamil Nadu, India

Abstract A new species of the genus Linshcosteus Distant, 1904 (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Triatominae) is described from specimens collected near Kalakkadu, Tamil Nadu state, southern India. Specimens were found in deep crevices between rocks, in a region of semi‐arid scrub jungle. The distinctiveness of the new species was demonstrated by a morphometric analysis including the five previously described species of Linshcosteus, all from India. Nine measurements of the head were used in an isometric size‐free principal component analysis. In terms of discrete morphology the new species, Linshcosteus karupus sp.n. Galvão, Patterson, Rocha & Jurberg differs from the most similar one, L. kali Lent & Wygodzinsky, 1979 , by its very prominent anterolateral projections of the pronotum, by the length to width ratio of the pronotum, by the pilosity of the head and several other characters, including phallic structures. A revised key is presented for the six species of the genus.
