Bulbophyllum nujiangense (Bulbophyllinae,Epidendroideae, Orchidaceae), a New Species from Yunnan,China

Based on field observation and specimen examination, a new species of Orchidaceae, Bulbophyllum nujiangense, is described and illustrated. Bulbophyllum nujiangense is closely related to B. cylindraceum in sect. Brachystachya in having tufted plants, large leaf, long inflorescence, small flowers in raceme, and fleshy lip, but can be easily distinguished from the latter in having flowers deep purplish red and whorl well spaced along the rachis, lateral sepals adhere to each other slightly at base, elliptic petals with obtuse and mucronate apex, lip deep purplish red.

Neottia wuyishanensis (Orchidaceae: Neottieae), a new species from Fujian,China

A new species, Neottia wuyishanensis (Neottieae, Orchidaceae), is described and illustrated from Wuyishan, Fujian, eastern China, based on morphological characters and molecular data. Molecular phylogenetics indicate that N. wuyishanensis is nested within the clade formed by Neottia fugongensis and Neottia nujiangensis. Morphologically, N. wuyishanensis is similar to N. fugongensis and N. pseudonipponica, but differs from them by having indistinct auricles at the base, and in the shape and size of lobelets.     

厚叶卷瓣兰,中国兰科一新记录种

中国西藏墨脱县位于东喜马拉雅和印缅交界地区,是雅鲁藏布江大峡谷国家级自然保护区的核心区域,是喜马拉雅生物多样性热点地区之一。该文通过对中国西藏墨脱的科学考察,报道了中国兰科植物2个新记录种,即西藏牛角兰(Ceratostylis radiata)和格当石豆兰(Bulbophyllum psychoon),并提供了描述和图片。西藏牛角兰花为纯白色,花辐射对称,唇瓣3裂,茎长2~2.5 cm,明显区别于该属内其他种。格当石豆兰与齿瓣石豆兰(Bulbophyllum levinei)相似,但不同之处在于格当石豆兰的花瓣卵形,先端锐尖。凭证标本分别保存于西藏自治区高原生物研究所(XZ)和中国科学院植物研究所(PE)标本馆中。2个新记录种原分布均在印度、缅甸和越南等地区,在中国西藏的发现说明了中国西藏墨脱的植物区系和原分布地有一定的关系,同时也印证了中国西藏墨脱属于亚热带地区,且2个新记录种的分布海拔超出了原分布地范围,开花的时间也相对推迟。此新记录种的发现对摸清该区植物种类和丰富中国西藏植物区系提供了更加详实的资料。     

中国兰科天麻属一新记录种——白点天麻

海南是我国的热带岛屿,植物资源丰富。近年来,在海南省霸王岭国家级自然保护区的野外考察中,发现天麻属(Gastrodia)一新记录种Gastrodia punctata Aver.。该种原为越南特有种,根据拉丁名种加词之意及形态特征将其定名为"白点天麻"。白点天麻具有以下特征:花被筒褐色,被白点,唇瓣具4条肉质脊突,蕊柱基部具明显的镰刀状柱头,易与该属的其它种类相区别。该文中还提供了该种的中文形态描述及彩色图片,并对其分布和保护状况进行了报道。     

刚毛盆距兰, 中国兰科一新记录种

A new species of Malaxis (Orchidaceae) from Morelos, Mexico

A new species from the Mexican state of Morelos, Malaxis lyonnetii, is described and illustrated. It is similar to M. lepanthiflora but is distinguished by its much smaller flowers, distally uncinate basal lip lobes, and entire, rounded apical lip lobe.

A new species of Ornithocephalus (Orchidaceae) from Panama

Ornithocephalus aristatus, a new species from Panama, is described and illustrated. Among the species of the genusOrnithocephalus, it can be distinguished by the nonresupinate flowers, the sepals each provided with a flexuous awn half as long as the sepal itself, the porrect petals with revolute margins, the hastate lip with triangular-ovate, crose lateral lobes, the linear, acute midlobe, conduplicate and subreflexed at apex, and the dise with a bilobed, obreniform callus provided with a conical tuft of stiff hairs. A key to the species ofOrnithocephalus from Panama is provided.

A new species of Lepanthes (Orchidaceae) from Puerto Rico

A new species,Lepanthes caritensis, is described and illustrated. There are now nine species ofLepanthes known to occur in Puerto Rico. Plant habitat and floral morphology ofL. caritensis is most similar to that ofL. sanguinea. A survey of the area where the new species is located suggests that it is rare and should be protected under the Federal Endangered Species Act. Una especic nueva,Lepanthes caritensis, es descrita e ilustrada para Puerto Rico. Con ésta hay ahora nueve especies deLepanthes en Puerto Rico. El hábito de la planta y la morfología de la flor deL. caritensis es más similar aL. sanguinea. Un muestreo del área donde se encuentra la nueva especie sugiere que ésta es rara y que debería ser protegida por el Federal Endangered Species Act.
