This review aims to evaluate the contribution of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) to monitor nutrition in small ruminants, with particular emphasis on the use of feed spectra and fecal spectra. NIRS provides satisfactory accuracy in the analysis of the chemical constituents of feeds for small ruminants, e.g., crude protein and cell wall composition, and is sometimes better than in vitro procedures for predicting in vivo digestibility and the available energy in feeds. In addition, in vitro digestibility can be accurately estimated by NIRS. The effective rumen degradability of protein could potentially be accurately predicted by NIRS, which would eliminate the need for rumen-fistulated animals. Good accuracy in the prediction of tannins has been reported for narrow, single-species applications, as well as for broad arrays of browse species. The identification of NIR segments corresponding to undigested entities has potential to help in providing spectral markers of digestibility. Fecal output can easily be evaluated, using the NIRS-aided analysis of polyethylene glycol (PEG) administered as external indigestible marker. Analysis of NIR spectra of the feces enables the accurate prediction of the chemical characteristics of the feed (dry matter digestibility and crude protein, cell wall attributes, PEG-binding tannins) in stall-fed and grazing animals, and to some extent, of the botanical composition of diets at pasture. Thus, fecal NIRS methodology holds the potential to provide nutritional diagnoses for farmers raising small ruminant.  相似文献

This study explored the feasibility of determining the content of several nutrient metals (K, Ca, Mg, Fe and Zn) in animal manure compost products in China using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). Samples of 120 compost products were collected from 22 provinces in China. The spectra were scanned obtained with a FT-NIRS system. For fresh samples, the validation coefficient of determination (r(2)), standard error of prediction (SEP) and the ratio of the standard deviation in the validation set to the standard error of prediction (RPD) were 0.69, 5.08g/kg and 1.83 for K, 0.46, 17.99g/kg and 1.33 for Ca, 0.54, 1.73g/kg and 1.42 for Mg, 0.86, 1.14g/kg and 2.55 for Fe and 0.65, 62.95mg/kg and 1.71 for Zn, respectively. For dried samples, the r(2), SEP and RPD were 0.68, 5.68g/kg and 1.79 for K, 0.78, 15.34g/kg and 2.12 for Ca, 0.72, 2.07g/kg and 1.81 for Mg, 0.84, 1.49g/kg and 2.27 for Fe and 0.57, 86.32mg/kg and 1.52 for Zn, respectively. The results showed that the NIRS technique is a potential method for predicting nutrient metal content of animal manure compost products. However, further research is needed to improve the prediction precision of calibration models by enlarging the number of samples and using other chemometric methods.  相似文献

Near infrared (IR) spectroscopy can give continuous, direct information about cerebral oxygenation in vivo by providing signals from oxygenated and deoxygenated haemoglobin and cytochrome aa3. Due to a lack of precise spectral information and uncertainties about optical path length it has previously been impossible to quantify the data. We have therefore obtained the cytochrome aa3 spectrum in vivo from the brains of rats after replacing the blood with a fluorocarbon substitute. Near infrared haemoglobin spectra were also obtained, at various oxygenation levels, from cuvette studies of lysed human red blood cells. Estimates of optical path length have been obtained. The data were used to construct an algorithm for calculating the changes in oxygenated and deoxygenated haemoglobin and oxygenated cytochrome aa3 in tissue from changes in near IR absorption.  相似文献

The NIR spectra of 135 samples of the following green crop oats (Avena sativa), barley (Hordeum vulgare), triticale (x Triticosecale), wheat (Triticum durum), ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) and sorghum (x Sorghum sudanense) grown in Portugal, were obtained by reflectance from oven-dried, milled whole plant material. Samples were cut at various stages of development (viz. stem elongation, boot, early heading, milk and dough stage) and were analysed by standard laboratory methods. The nutritive value was evaluated in vivo using rams in metabolic cages. The green crops showed values of ASH varying from 5.5 to 14.9%, crude protein (CP) from 5.0 to 22.3%, crude fibre (CF) from 25.3 to 40.4%, neutral detergent fibre (NDF) from 45.9 to 77.2%, acid detergent fibre (ADF) from 23.6 to 49.9%, acid detergent lignin (ADL) from 1.7 to 8.0%, dry matter digestibility (DMD) from 53.2 to 82.9%, organic matter digestibility (OMD) from 56.2 to 85.0% and dry matter intake (IVDMI) from 35.8 to 88.6 g DM kg−1 W0.75. Spectra were used to develop NIR calibration models for ASH (SEC=0.72; r2=0.90), CP (SEC=0.63; r2=0.98), CF (SEC=1.02; r2=0.94), NDF (SEC=1.41; r2=0.97), ADF (SEC=1.43; r2=0.96), ADL (SEC=0.49; r2=0.87) and in vivo attributes DMD (SEC=2.61; r2=0.86), OMD (SEC=2.36; r2=0.88) and IVDMI (SEC=6.05; r2=0.41). Calibration models were successful for all parameters except for IVDMI. However, animal attributes were less successfully predicted than chemical composition. Calibration models were generated omitting one of the six plant species to assess their ability to accommodate unknown green crop species not represented in the calibration model. In general, NIRS was shown to provide acceptable prediction of composition across different species of green crop cereals whether or not these were included in the calibration process.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS), applied to forage and/or faeces, to estimate the in vivo organic matter digestibility (OMD) and the organic matter voluntary intake (OMVI, g/kg metabolic weight [BW0.75]) for a wide range of temperate forages. Two different databases, in terms of forage species and development stages were studied. The first one included two grass species and two forage mixtures for which OMD and OMVI were continuously measured during the grass-growing seasons (spring and summer). The second one contained a large set of grass and legume species and forage mixtures (142 trials) for which OMD and OMVI were measured.Forage and faeces samples were submitted to NIRS analysis and predictive calibrations were developed from forage spectra, faeces spectra, forage and faeces subtracted spectra, and faeces and forage concatenated spectra. Working on faecal spectra (alone or concatenated) enabled us to develop the best calibration equations for both OMD and OMVI estimation. The coefficient of determination (R2) was greater than 0.8. The standard error of cross validation (SECV) for OMD and OMVI was 0.021 and 4.51 g/kg BW0.75, respectively, and the accuracy was similar to that obtained with other predictive methods. With regard to the faecal spectra (second derivative mode), the fat absorbency at wavelengths of 1730, 2310 and 2350 nm was higher when the corresponding forage was highly digestible and ingestible.In conclusion, applying NIRS to faeces is a rapid and easy analytical method that could be an interesting tool for managing grazing ruminants and optimising their performance.  相似文献

To determine the alterations in optical characteristics and cerebral blood oxygenation (CBO) during activation and deactivation, we evaluated the changes in mean optical pathlength (MOP) and CBO induced by a verbal fluency task (VFT) and driving simulation in the right and left prefrontal cortex (PFC), employing a newly developed time-resolved near infrared spectroscopy, which allows quantitative measurements of the evoked-CBO changes by determining the MOP with a sampling time of 1 s. The results demonstrated differences in MOP in the foreheads with the subjects and wavelength; however, there was no significant difference between the right and left foreheads (p > 0.05). Also, both the VFT and driving simulation task did not affect the MOP significantly as compared to that before the tasks (p > 0.05). In the bilateral PFCs, the VFT caused increases of oxyhemoglobin and total hemoglobin associated with a decrease of deoxyhemoglobin, while the driving simulation task caused decreases of oxyhemoglobin and total hemoglobin associated with an increase of deoxyhemoglobin; there were no significant differences in evoked-CBO changes between the right and left PFC. The present results will be useful for quantitative measurement of hemodynamic changes during activation and deactivation in the adults by near infrared spectroscopy.  相似文献

稳定同位素红外光谱(IRIS)技术克服了传统的大气CO2气瓶采样-同位素质谱(IRMS)技术时间分辨率低且耗时费力的缺点, 可以实现高时间分辨率和高精度的大气CO2碳同位素组成(δ 13C)和氧同位素组成(δ 18O)的原位连续测定。基于IRIS技术测量CO2 δ 13C和δ 18O的误差来源主要包括δ 13C和δ 18O测量值对CO2浓度变化的非线性响应(浓度依赖性)以及对环境条件变化的敏感性导致的漂移(时间漂移)。如何有效地校正浓度依赖性和时间漂移导致的误差是IRIS仪器应用的前提。该综述阐述了δ 13C和δ 18O测量值的浓度依赖性产生的理论基础, 回顾了浓度依赖性的理论校正和经验方程校正方法和应用; 回顾了时间漂移的校正原理、方法和应用; 概述了数据溯源至国际标准的原理、方法与应用现状。结合实际情况推荐利用3个或3个以上已知CO2浓度和δ 13C、δ 18O真值的CO2标准气体涵盖待测气体CO2浓度的浓度依赖性校正, 设置适当的校正频率校正时间漂移并进行数据溯源。指出应该加强不同仪器和校正方法的比对研究; 采用IRIS技术测定CH4、N2O和H2O同位素组成也可以采取类似的校正方法。  相似文献

The photooxygenation of cyclohexane by molecular oxygen has been investigated on two mesoporous TiO(2) materials, which have been prepared using colloidal nanoparticles as building blocks. One of the structured systems (mpTiO(2)-50) is a mixture of 50% TiO(2) and 50% SiO(2); the second one (mpTiO(2)-100) is constituted by 100% of TiO(2). Both mpTiO(2)-100 and mpTiO(2)-50 can induce cyclohexane photooxidation in repeated cycles, but with the former the yield in cyclohexanone is higher and only traces of cyclohexanol are observed. The results of experiments with different incident light intensities are reported: contrary to mpTiO(2)-50, the selectivity of mpTiO(2)-100 towards cyclohexanone is not significantly affected by the photonic flux. Based on the substrate conversion rates, incident photonic flux effects, photoluminescence and EPR spectra of the mesoporous materials, we infer that the photoreactivity of mpTiO(2)-100 and mpTiO(2)-50 is mainly controlled by textural effects. In particular, we propose that the inter-particle electron mobility that characterizes the mpTiO(2)-100 material, which is constituted exclusively of TiO(2) nanoparticles, entails a better utilization of electron traps for converting the photogenerated cyclohexyl-peroxide radicals to cyclohexanone.  相似文献

Near infrared spectroscopy is a rapid and nondestructive method for compositional analysis of biological material. The technology is widely used within bioreactors and possesses potential as a standardized method for quality control in miniaturized microfluidic cell culture systems. Here, we established a method for quantification of cell density and viability of adherent HepaRG cells cultured in a translucent, miniaturized cell culture biochip. The newly developed statistical models for interpretation of near infrared spectroscopy from biochips are the basis for a novel method of fast, continuous, and contact‐free analysis of cell viability and real‐time monitoring of cell growth. The technique thus paves the way for a robust and reliable high‐throughput analysis of biochip‐embedded cell cultures.  相似文献

运用近红外法预测了中国绿豆主要营养品质蛋白质、淀粉和直链淀粉含量并比较绿豆粉和籽粒两种不同样品类型的差异。102份来自绿豆核心样品为试验材料,采用近红外分析系统扫描了绿豆籽粒和粉样品。光谱数据经预处理后,构建了最小二乘回归预测和交互验证模型并获得了最优校正统计参数。绿豆粉样品最大R2值和最小SECV值蛋白质含量为0.95和0.329,淀粉含量0.90和0.576,直链淀粉含量0.89和0.307;RPD值3.08至4.61。籽粒样品最大R2值和最小SECV值蛋白质含量为0.90和0.404,淀粉含量0.88和0.643,直链淀粉含量0.85和0.426;RPD值2.51至3.23。模型的稳健性采用外部验证法进行了评价。豆粉样品的平均差异1.0%~1.8%比籽粒样品略低。结果表明绿豆粉的三种组分的近红外预测方法具有快速和简单的特点,可应用于绿豆品质的测定。籽粒样品还具有无损种子结构,保持种子活力的特点,可在育种、种质资源创新等方面应用,但其准确度还有待进一步的改善。  相似文献

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) neuroimaging sensors use light source and detector pairs placed over scalp to measure underlying neurophysiology. Source detector separation (SDS) is a critical design parameter and should aim a balanced trade‐off for detected light intensity and sensitivity to brain tissue. In this study, we used multi‐layer digital head models to systematically evaluate the role of SDS on NIRS spatial sensitivity profiles within both healthy and clinical conditions. A submersible microbial fuel cell (SBMFC) was developed as a biosensor for in situ and real time monitoring of dissolved oxygen (DO) in environmental waters. Domestic wastewater was utilized as a sole fuel for powering the sensor. The sensor performance was firstly examined with tap water at varying DO levels. With an external resistance of 1000?, the current density produced by the sensor (5.6±0.5-462.2±0.5mA/m(2)) increased linearly with DO level up to 8.8±0.3mg/L (regression coefficient, R(2)=0.9912), while the maximum response time for each measurement was less than 4min. The current density showed different response to DO levels when different external resistances were applied, but a linear relationship was always observed. Investigation of the sensor performance at different substrate concentrations indicates that the organic matter contained in the domestic wastewater was sufficient to power the sensing activities. The sensor ability was further explored under different environmental conditions (e.g. pH, temperature, conductivity, and alternative electron acceptor), and the results indicated that a calibration would be required before field application. Lastly, the sensor was tested with different environmental waters and the results showed no significant difference (p>0.05) with that measured by DO meter. The simple, compact SBMFC sensor showed promising potential for direct, inexpensive and rapid DO monitoring in various environmental waters.  相似文献

The efficacy of the fluoroquinolone levofloxacin in the treatment of 35 children with bronchopulmonary disease exacerbation was practically the same as that of amoxycillin/clavulanate, cefotaxime or ceftriaxone. The clinical and bacteriological results were favourable. The eradication of the pathogens responsible for the bronchopulmonary inflammations in 86% of the patients was stated. There is no doubt that fluoroquinolones should not be widely used in pediatrics. They should be considered as reserve drugs for the treatment of severe cases when the routine agents fail. Their use is justified when the situation is risky and the data on the pathogen susceptibility to the drugs are available. Still, levofloxacin is the most safe fluoroquinolone with low hepatotoxicity and lower effect on the central nervous system. The episodes of its negative cardiovascular action are less frequent. Moreover, the most frequent side effects of fluoroquinolones such as nausea, diarrhea or vomiting are less frequent with the use of levofloxacin. No signs of arthropathy in the patients treated with levofloxacin were observed in our trial.  相似文献

The authors present materials on the study of the reaction of blood neutrophils (PPN test) to pertussis allergen in children suffering from pertussis and immunized with ADPT vaccine. Results obtained in examining 111 children showed that the PPN test was specific and could be used for assessment of allergic manifestations in children suffering from pertussis or immunized with ADPT vaccine. Taking into consideration the harmlessness and expressiveness of the PPN test it can be recommended for studying in dynamics in any age groups.  相似文献

Vibrational spectroscopic data were collected on the salt [C5H6N]2[Cl3FeOFeCl3] . C5H5N, which has previously been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The modes associated with the oxo bridge were identified by experiments on the 18O-containing species. Spectra for the mu-16O complex contain Raman bands at 870, 458, and 203 cm-1 that shift to 826, 440, and 198 cm-1 in the mu-18O complex. These are respectively assigned to the asymmetric, symmetric, and angle deformations of the bent Fe-O-Fe moiety. A normal mode vibration analysis based on a simple valence force field for the Fe-O-Fe portion of the molecule provides surprisingly good agreement with these experimental frequencies and their assignments. The vibrational data for this simple inorganic complex confirm the assignment of a resonance Raman band around 500 cm-1 in the oxygen-carrying protein hemerythrin and enzyme ribonucleotide reductase as the symmetric stretch of an oxo bridge between two iron(III) centers.  相似文献

KLLLLKLLLLKLLLLKLLLLK (KL(4)) has been suggested to mimic some aspects of the pulmonary surfactant protein SP-B and has been tested clinically as a therapeutic agent for respiratory distress syndrome in premature infants [Cochrane, C. G., and Revak, S. D. (1991) Science 254, 566-568]. It is of obvious interest to understand the mechanism of KL(4) function as a guide for design of improved therapeutic agents. Attenuated total reflection (ATR) IR measurements have indicated that KL(4) is predominantly alpha-helical with a transmembrane orientation in lipid multilayers (1), a geometry quite different from the originally proposed peripheral membrane lipid interaction. However, the lipid multilayer model required for ATR may not be the best experimental paradigm to mimic the in vivo function of KL(4). In the current experiments, IR reflection-absorption spectroscopy (IRRAS) was used to evaluate peptide secondary structure in monolayers at the air/water interface, the physical state that best approximates the alveolar lining. In contrast to the ATR-IR results, KL(4) (2.5-5 mol %) films with either DPPC or DPPC/DPPG (7/3 mol ratio) adopted an antiparallel beta-sheet structure at all surface pressures studied > or =5 mN/m, including pressures physiologically relevant for lung function (40-72 mN/m). In contrast, in DPPG/KL(4) films, the dominant conformation was the alpha-helix over the entire pressure range, a possible consequence of enhanced electrostatic interactions. IRRAS has thus provided unique molecular structure information and insight into KL(4)/lipid interaction in a physiologically relevant state. A structural model is proposed for the response of the peptide to surface pressure changes.  相似文献

Control of raw materials based on an understanding of their impact on product attributes has been identified as a key aspect of developing a control strategy in the Quality by Design (QbD) paradigm. This article presents a case study involving use of a combined approach of Near‐infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and Multivariate Data Analysis (MVDA) for screening of lots of basal medium powders based on their impact on process performance and product attributes. These lots had identical composition as per the supplier and were manufactured at different scales using an identical process. The NIR/MVDA analysis, combined with further investigation at the supplier site, concluded that grouping of medium components during the milling and blending process varied with the scale of production and media type. As a result, uniformity of blending, impurity levels, chemical compatibility, and/or heat sensitivity during the milling process for batches of large‐scale media powder were deemed to be the source of variation as detected by NIR spectra. This variability in the raw materials was enough to cause unacceptably large variability in the performance of the cell culture step and impact the attributes of the resulting product. A combined NIR/MVDA approach made it possible to finger print the raw materials and distinguish between good and poor performing media lots. © 2009 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. 21 patients with active signs of euthyroid Graves' disease were given 400 mug thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) i.v. All subjects with unresponsiveness to TRH had a nonsuppressible thyroidal 131I-uptake. On the basis of serum total T3 14 patients were hyperthyroid, 2 more had an elevated value of free T3. 4 patients with normal total T3 and nonsuppressible 131I-uptake were unresponsive to TRH, in 2 of them the free T3 fraction was elevated, however. 4 subjects with nonsuppressible 131I-uptake had a TRH stimulated TSH response. 2 of these subjects had hyperthyroid values of free and total T3 in serum and responded to TRH with an exaggerate TSH increment. The variations of TRH responsiveness may demonstrate a different threshold of the pituitary and the peripheral T3 receptors.  相似文献

Maritime hydraulic components are often exposed to harsh environmental conditions which can lead to accelerated deterioration, reduced function, equipment failure and costly repair. Two leading causes of maritime hydraulic failure are biofouling accumulation and corrosion. This study examined the antifouling performance of three candidate replacement high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) coatings relative to the performance of the current baseline air plasma spray (APS) ceramic coating for protection of hydraulic actuators. Following 20 weeks immersion at tropical and temperate field exposure sites, the control APS ceramic accumulated significantly greater levels of biofouling compared to the HVOF coatings. More specifically, the magnitude of growth of real-world nuisance hard fouling observed on in-service hydraulic components (eg calcareous tubeworms and encrusting bryozoans) was significantly greater on the APS ceramic relative to HVOF coatings. Possible explanations for the observed patterns include differences in surface topography and roughness, the electrochemical potential of the surfaces and the colour/brightness of the coatings.  相似文献
