Laureates of the Palladin Premium of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine

The article presents a short information about the Resolution of Ukr.SSR Soviet of Ministers on establishing the nominal premium of Presidium the Academy of Sciences of Ukr.SSR (of NAS of Ukraine, now) in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology dedicated to the famous scientists, founder of the Ukrainian biochemical school and the Institute of Biochemistry named after him--academician O. V. Palladin. There is a chronologically sequential list presenting all Laureates (with photo pictures) awarded by this honourable bonus with displaying their scientific works for which they received this reward.

Integration of soluble tetrodotoxin-sensitive brain proteins with liposomal membranes

Interaction of tetrodotoxin-sensitive proteins of the soluble cytoplasmic fraction of mammalian brain with liposomes was studied. Tetrodotoxin-sensitive proteins were shown to be incorporated in an orderly transmembrane manner into liposomes of a particular chemical composition (phosphatidylcholine-phosphatidylserine-cholesterol, brain phospholipids-cholesterol).A. Electrophysiological investigation of the properties of acetylcholine receptors of frog sympathetic ganglionic neurons

Changes in membrane potential and conductance were studied in neurons of isolated sympathetic ganglia ofRana ridibunda during perfusion with cholinomimetics and cholinolytics. Activation of nicotinic (N) acetylcholine receptors by carbachol, suberyldicholine, and tetramethylammonium led to depolarization with an increase in conductance, whereas activation of muscarinic (M) acetylcholine receptors by perfusion with carbachol or 5-methylfurmethide, led to depolarization with a decrease or (less frequently) an increase in conductance. The M-cholinolytic atropine was shown to cause depolarization with an increase in conductance if perfusion with atropine was preceded by perfusion with carbachol.A. A. 俄罗斯马特盖奇克遗址、卡缅内洛卡遗址试掘简报

2017年8~9月,重庆市文化遗产研究院同俄罗斯科学院西伯利亚分院考古学与民族学研究所组成联合考古队,对西伯利亚两处旧石器时代遗址进行考古调查与试掘。通过调查与试掘,在叶尼塞河支流—阿巴坎河流域确认了一处旧石器时代晚期遗址—马特盖奇克遗址,该遗址石制品主要包括石核、石片和石器,原料主要是火山岩、燧石和石英岩。通过阶地比对,初步认为该遗址时代为旧石器时代晚期。另外,对库尔塔克卡缅内洛卡遗址的再次发掘出土了44件石制品,包含石核、石片和石器,原料主要是燧石、石英岩和火山岩。此次发掘进一步充实了该遗址的考古材料,也有利于进一步完善该遗址的考古年代学序列。

Effects of allapinine on sodium currents in neurons isolated from the rat trigeminal ganglion and cardiomyocytes

The effects were investigated of allapinine, diterpene alkaloid on ionic currents in voltage-clamped trigeminal neurons and cardiomyocytes isolated from rats. Allapinine application was found to exert an inhibitory effect on inward tetrodotoxin-sensitive sodium currents without changing their voltage dependence. Potential differences between the mechanisms of antiarrhythmic action of diterpene alkaloids and standard antiarrhythmic substances are examined.A. A. Glial origin of the slow negative potential of the direct cortical response: Microelectrode study and mathematical analysis

The slow negative potential of the direct cortical response is similar in its shape, time course, and relationship to repetitive stimulation to depolarization of cortical glial cells but differs from the IPSP of cortical neurons. According to the results of digital spectral (frequency) analysis, the basis of the slow negative potential is the glial component formed by summation of components which coincide with glial depolarization processes with an accuracy determined by a constant factor. The much smaller component (as regards relative contribution) is the indirect result of the development of an IPSP in the neurons.I. S. Electron-microscopic analysis of synapses of the inferior mesenteric sympathetic ganglion in the afferent chain of sympathetic reflexes

There are axodendritic, axosomatic, dendrodendritic, and axoaxonic synapses in the inferior sympathetic ganglia. Preliminary transectioning of the preganglionic fibers, degeneration of these fibers, and circumferential preliminary cutting of all connections of the ganglion do not give rise to structural disturbances in all of the synapses: some of them remain intact. Preliminary cutting of the hypogastric nerves — which leads to degeneration of the central ends of peripheral afferent neuron axons, above all those of Dogel' type II cells — causes structural changes of a degenerative nature in a number of ganglionic synapses, although no changes are observed in most of them. Intact and structurally changed synapses are analyzed as synapses between afferent and efferent sympathetic neurons on the one hand, and between afferent neurons of different levels of the vegetative nervous system forming visceral afferent pathways that are interrupted in the ganglion on the other.Preliminary results were published in Dokl. Electrophysiological study of locus ceruleus projections to central cerebellar nuclei

Evoked response (field potentials) were recorded in all cerebellar nuclei when stimulating the locus ceruleus (LC). Response occurring in the dentate and fastigial nuclei were of considerably greater amplitude and were repeated at a higher rate than in the interstitial nucleus. Blockade of beta-adrenoreceptors led to clear-cut depression of response in the dentate and fastigial nuclei and increased response in the interstitial nucleus. Neuronal response to LC stimulation in the nuclei mainly took the form of inhibition of spontaneous discharges. A less pronounced response was observed in the interstitial nucleus. The findings obtained would indicate the presence of noradrenergic afferents reaching the cerebellar nuclei, where they are unevenly distributed.Kh. Thermodynamic substantiation of water-bridged collagen structure.

A solution of the problem of topology of a hydrogen bond net in a triple helix of collagen is suggested on the basis of an analysis of thermodynamic data on denaturation of phylogenetically different collagen [T. V. Burjanadze (1982), Vol. 21, pp. 1489-1501; T. V. Burjanadze, E. I. Tiktopulo, and P. L. Privalov (1987), Dokl. Akad. Nauk. USSR, Vol. 293, pp. 720-724] as well as on the earlier evaluation of the energy of the OH group of the 4-hydroxyproline bond [A. R. Ward and P. Mason (1973), Journal of Molecular Biology, Vol. 29, pp. 431-435]. It is shown that only the water-bridged collagen structure [G. N. Ramachandran and R. Chandrasekharan (1968), Biopolymers, Vol. 6, pp. 1649-1661; G. N. Ramachandran, M. Bansal, and R. S. Bhatnagar (1973), Biochimica Biophysica Acta, Vol. 322, pp. 166-171; M. Bansal, C.
