The effect of an H-21J disparity on skin graft survival was studied in 18 mouse donor-recipient strain combinations, in which the recipients were treated with an efficient immunosuppressant, lentil lectin (LCA). The simultaneous I-J disparity essentially had no (or a slightly adverse) effect on the graft survival times in strain combinations differing at the K and I-A loci or in the entire H-2 complex. In two strain combinations incompatible at the D locus, the simultaneous I-J disparity promoted graft survival. The disparity at the I-J locus therefore seems to have only a marginal effect on the survival of allografts in most of the LCA-treated recipients, but it may promote graft survival in some animals. A similar tolerance-promoting effect was also observed with D disparity.  相似文献

The cilia-stopping effect of mycoplasmas of human and various animal origin in mouse and chicken tracheal organ cultures was studied. From the results in mouse tracheal organ cultures, the mycoplasma strains tested were divided into three groups: Mycoplasma pulmonis m53, M. pulmonis JB, M. pulmonis OK, M. mycoides subsp. mycoides PG1 and M. gallisepticum S6 showed a strong cilia-stopping effect; M. pulmonis PG22, M. mycoides subsp. capri PG3, M. meleagridis 19729, M. neurolyticum Type A and M. arthritidis PG6 showed a mild effect; and M. pneumoniae FH, M. salivarium Hup, M. hominis type 1-C and M. orale N-C of human origin and Acholeplasma laidlawii PG8 showed a weak effect. On the other hand, in chicken tracheal organ cultures, only M. gallisepticum S6 showed a strong effect, M. meleagridis 19729 was affected to a lesser degree, and other mycoplasma strains showed a weak or no effect. The results indicate that some murine and poultry mycoplasmas showed a cilia-stopping tendency in mouse and chicken tracheal organ cultures, respectively, while human mycoplasmas showed weak or little effect in both organ cultures. In mouse tracheal organ cultures, M. pulmonis m53 treated with heat, trypsin or formaldehyde, and the sterile filtrate of an m53 broth culture showed no cilia-stopping effect. The relationship of the pathogenicity of mycoplasmas for their natural hosts to that for cultured respiratory cells is discussed.  相似文献

The inhibitory effect of creosote compounds on the aerobic degradation of benzene was studied in microcosm experiments. A total removal of benzene was observed after twelve days of incubation in microcosms where no inhibition was observed. Thiophene and benzothiophene, two heterocyclic aromatic compounds containing sulfur (S-compounds), had a significant inhibitory effect on the degradation of benzene, but also an inhibitory effect of benzofuran (an O-compound) and 1-methylpyrrole (a N-compound) could be observed, although the effect was weaker. The NSO-compounds also had an inhibitory effect on the degradation of p-xylene, o-xylene, and naphthalene, while they only had a weak influence on the degradation of 1-methylnaphthalene, o-cresol and 2,4-dimethylphenol. The phenolic compounds seemed to have a weak stimulating effect on the degradation of benzene whereas the monoaromatic hydrocarbons and the naphthalenes had no significant influence on the benzene degradation. The inhibitory effect of the NSO-compounds on the aerobic degradation of benzene could be identified as three different phenomena. The lag phase increased, the degradation rate decreased, and a residual concentration of benzene was observed in microcosms when NSO-compounds were present. Summary Field experiments were used to determine the effect of a common intertidal snail (Nerita funiculata) on the use of space for foraging by the hermit crab Clibanarius digueti. Removals of Nerita resulted in an increased density of foraging Clibanarius, while additions of the gastropod had the opposite effect. The observed negative effect of the gastropod on individual hermit crabs appears to be food-related. Field surveys, however, suggested that the hermit crab population is limited by shell number, rather than food. Because Nerita contributes to the shell resource, its effect on the hermit crab population is positive. Nerita, therefore, has a negative effect on the distribution of foraging hermit crabs, but a positive effect on their abundance. Such decouplings of distribution and abundance effects are rare.  相似文献

植物群落的物种多样性以及群落建群种的基因型多样性对群落生态功能是否存在交互影响已成为群落生态学研究的热点内容。以内蒙古典型草原群落内常见物种为研究对象,研究了群落物种多样性与建群种羊草(Leymus chinensis)基因型多样性及其交互作用对群落生物量生态功能特性的影响。结果表明:(1)羊草基因型多样性、物种多样性及其交互作用对群落地上、地下和总生物量无显著影响(P0.05);(2)羊草基因型多样性、物种多样性及其交互作用对多样性效应(净多样性效应、互补效应和选择效应)有显著影响(P0.05)。羊草基因型多样性抑制多样性净效应的发挥,且主要抑制互补效应;而物种多样性则促进多样性净效应的发挥,主要表现为选择效应对地上生物量的正效应;(3)互补效应对群落生物量多样性净效应起主要贡献。实验所得结果不仅为探讨多样性效应在物种水平以及群落水平上对群落生物量的影响因素提供了重要启示,而且为内蒙古草原种质资源的保护及合理利用,乃至生态系统的恢复和重建提供理论指导。  相似文献

Serum IgA, IgG and colostrum secretory IgA prepared from specimens pooled from a large number of human beings were shown to have measurable levels of antibodies against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, poliovirus, Coxsackie B virus, echovirus and influenza virus. Serum IgA exerted a bacteriostatic effect in vitro on E. coli and P. aeruginosa, which increased in the presence of the iron-binding proteins lactoferrin and transferrin. This bacteriostasis was reduced when the iron-binding proteins were saturated with iron. Similar results were obtained with IgG and secretory IgA. The bacteriostatic effect of serum IgA was also shown in vivo, in the peritoneal cavity of mice. The effect was suppressed by iron. Iron-chelating substances, siderophores, excreted by E. coli diminished the cosoperative bacteriostatic effect of serum IgA and transferrin. Siderophore production by E. coli was inhibited in the presence of serum IgA, but not when serum IgA was deprived of specific antibody by absorption with E. coli. These results indicate that serum IgA has a potent bacteriostatic effect in cooperation with transferrin or lactoferrin because of the inhibitory effect of the specific antibody on siderophore production by E. coli.  相似文献

为从青蒿(Artemisia annua L.)内生真菌中筛选有促生作用的菌株,用组织分离法从青蒿侧枝中分离内生真菌并进行分子鉴定,对其中1株真菌深绿木霉对青蒿幼苗的促生作用进行了研究。结果表明,从青蒿侧枝中获得23株内生真菌,鉴定出16种,以炭疽菌属占优势。深绿木霉发酵液对青蒿种子发芽和幼苗生长具有显著抑制作用;深绿木霉液体发酵菌丝体在4-5月对青蒿幼苗生长具有显著的促进作用,但7月以后没有明显促进作用。因此,深绿木霉可作为青蒿苗肥,与化肥配合可施用于成株。  相似文献

高温天气植被蒸腾与遮荫降温效应的变化特征   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
开展城市中不同树种植被遮荫与蒸腾降温效应的量化研究是科学优化植被温度调控服务的重要基础。以南京市栖霞区某小型绿地单元为研究区,对高温晴朗天气下不同树种典型植株树干液流进行了观测,采用"单位叶面积上的平均液流速率×叶面积指数"的扩展方法实现了由单株到林分尺度上冠层蒸腾量与蒸腾降温效应的估算,并根据林上、林下太阳辐射值计算了不同树种与整个绿地单元的遮荫降温效应,进而阐明了蒸腾与遮荫降温对总降温效应贡献率的变化特征。研究结果表明:1)3个树种树干液流均呈现昼高夜低的变化趋势,树干液流通常在6:00左右启动,正午前后达到峰值,且存在明显的"午休"现象,而在同一树种内树干液流会随着胸径的增大而显著增大;2)林分尺度上的冠层蒸腾量与蒸腾降温效应均为杨树雪松香樟,杨树峰或谷出现的时间(11:00—19:00)均明显晚于雪松(10:00—15:00)和香樟(9:00—16:00);3)3个树种遮荫降温效应总体上与太阳辐射的日变化规律基本一致,但树种间日平均降温效应的差异较小;4)3个树种与整个小型绿地单元的总降温效应在夜间均非常微弱,且全部为蒸腾降温,而在白天遮荫对总降温的贡献率(60%—75%)则明显高于蒸腾降温(25%—40%)。  相似文献

Our aim was to study the close relationship between the number of Empoasca onukii and its natural enemies in tea plantations to provide a scientific basis for the control of E. onukii. The relationship between the number of E. onukii and its main natural enemies in tea plantations in Hefei, China, were compared by gray relational analysis, and then the relationships between seven meteorological factors and the populations of E. onukii were analyzed by the method of path analysis. The results showed that among the top six natural enemies most closely related to the population of E. onukii, two natural enemies were the same in the three years of study and four natural enemies were the same in any two years of the study, and that the natural enemy species closely related to the population of E. onukii varied greatly among years. The direct effect of monthly average relative humidity was the greatest effect in 2020 and the direct effect of monthly average temperature was the greatest effect in 2021, with both being negative in terms of their effect on the population size of E. onukii. The direct effect of the number of days of rainfall was the greatest effect in both 2021 and 2022, and the indirect effect of monthly sunshine hours through rainfall days was the greatest effect on the population of E. onukii. The highest temperatures in early and mid-August 2022 were higher than in previous years, which had an impact on the growth and development of subsequent E. onukii.  相似文献

The effect of the Y-chromosome on the sexcombs in the legs ofDrosophila melanogaster has been examined in four different genotypes, viz., Oregon R+,y, sx andPc-Scx. For this purpose, various Y-chromosome-fragments (YL and YS) and one or two XO conditions have been used.The results of this investigation show that both long (YL) and short (YS) arms of the Y-chromosome tend to increase the teeth number in the sexcomb of the first legs in all genotypes excepty. The XO-1 condition, derived by the loss of one X, appears to decrease it; the XO-2, resulting from the fertilization of an X-bearing ovum by a nullo-Y sperm, appears to show an increased teeth number or no effect at all. The effect of Y-fragments is least in the case ofy and maximum insx. The various Y-fragments used also show a parallel, though inversely related, effect on the production of intermediate bristles insx.These Y-fragments show an opposite effect on the sexcombs of the second and third legs of thePc-Scx genotype. Here the mean numbers of teeth are significantly reduced in all cases as compared to those in XY;Pc-Scx/++ genotype.The different Y-fragments behave differently in their effect on sexcomb pattern. It has been suggested that secondary modifiers may be present in association with different genotypes as well as in the Y, which are required to maintain a morphodynamic equilibrium in pattern formation.This investigation has been supported by a grant from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research to the first author, Scheme No. 38 (77)/65-GAU-II.  相似文献

Aims: To study a possible effect of a synthetic brominated furanone on biofilm formation and biofilm resistance to disinfectants in Salmonella enterica. Methods and Results: The effect of a synthetic furanone on biofilm formation of Salm. enterica serovar Agona and Salm. enterica serovar Typhimurium (11 strains of different origins) was evaluated in a microtiterplate assay. A significant reduction in biofilm build‐up in microtiterplates by the furanone was observed for seven of the strains tested. Biofilms by two Salm. Agona feed factory strains and the effects on survival after exposures to disinfectants (hypochlorite and benzalkonium chloride) were assessed for both strains. Pretreatment with furanone significantly potentiated the effect of the two disinfectants for both strains. Conclusions: The effect of disinfectants on Salmonella in biofilm was significantly enhanced when the biofilm was grown in the presence of furanone. This was probably because of an effect on biofilm architecture, composition and in some cases also biofilm build‐up. Significance and Impact of the Study: The present study gives valuable new knowledge in the fight against Salmonella biofilm in the environment because of the potentiated effect of conventional disinfectants.  相似文献

The antifungal properties of isothiocyanates released from the hydrolysis of the glucosinolate sinigrin were assessed on an Armillaria mellea strain in Petri dishes. The fumigation with sinigrin at 100 µM showed a fungicidal effect, while lower rates determined a temporary fungistatic effect. The application of increasing rates of solid and liquid biofumigant formulations on A. mellea inoculated potted peach plants showed an increase of soil nitrate concentration, basal respiration, microbial biomass, leaf nitrogen and chlorophyll concentration. These effects indicated a stimulating effect of Brassicaceae derivatives on soil biological activity and plant growth. The application of a rate of meal higher than 6.42 g kg?1 soil caused a stunted growth and the death of some plants showing a clear phytotoxic effect of the treatments. The inhibition of A. mellea growth observed in in vitro trials was not evidenced in in vivo experiments due to the lack of infection symptoms in experimentally inoculated potted trees.  相似文献

为研究双色蜡蘑(Laccaria bicolor)对黑松(Pinus thunbergii)幼苗生长及其根系形态的影响,在营养杯培育条件下,用双色蜡蘑液体菌剂对黑松幼苗进行接种处理,接种第15、30、60、90、120天时取样,比较接种和未接种黑松幼苗的生物量、根系形态及根系分形维数的差异。结果表明:双色蜡蘑在黑松幼苗地上植株、地下根系的生长及其生物量的积累方面都表现出明显的促进作用。接种双色蜡蘑也显著改善了根系总长度、分支数、表面积、体积等参数和根系分形维数,并对地下根系生长的促进作用时间早于地上部分,且效应显著高于地上部分。接种双色蜡蘑第15~30天时对地上部分基本无影响,但对根系促进作用明显,而地上部分在第60天时开始表现出显著的生长效应。研究发现,双色蜡蘑能够成功定殖于黑松根部,促进黑松幼苗生长及其生物量的积累,同时显著促进根系总长度、分支数、表面积和体积增加,并使根系分形维数增大,表现出明显的促生作用,且对根系发育的显著促进作用早于地上部分。  相似文献

The effect of acetic acid on the growth and the fermentative activity of S. cerevisiae was analysed comparatively with the pH. This study showed that the pH does not affect these two activities. On the contrary, the acetic acid has an inhibition effect. This effect was modelised by the relation of Levenspiel. Finally, it was shown that the quantities of acetic acid produced by Brettanomyces were not sufficient to explain the inhibition of Saccharomyces.  相似文献

以羽茅(Achnatherum sibiricum)为材料,采用室内生物测定法研究感染不同内生真菌的羽茅浸提液对大针茅(Stipa grandis)种子萌发和幼苗生长的化感作用,并采用气相色谱-质谱(GC-MS)联用技术对羽茅浸提液中的化学成分进行分析。结果表明:(1)内生真菌感染可缓解宿主羽茅对群落优势种大针茅的化感作用;(2)内生真菌感染对宿主羽茅化感作用的影响与内生真菌种类有关,具体表现为相比于未染菌羽茅,感染Epichloё gansuensis可显著缓解宿主羽茅对大针茅的抑制作用,而感染Neotyphodium sibiricum、Neotyphodium gansuensis有缓解羽茅对大针茅化感作用的趋势,但未达到显著影响;(3)羽茅浸提液中含有2,4-二叔丁基苯酚、邻苯二甲酸、邻苯二甲酸二丁酯和硬脂酸甲酯等潜在化感物质,这4种物质相对含量的差异可能是不同内生真菌感染状态的羽茅产生不同化感效应的主要原因;(4)对羽茅浸提液中4种潜在化感物质的化感作用进行验证实验,结果表明,2,4-二叔丁基苯酚对大针茅的化感作用基本表现为低浓度无影响,高浓度抑制,邻苯二甲酸二丁酯的化感作用表现为"低促高抑"的效应趋势,而邻苯二甲酸和硬脂酸甲酯对大针茅均表现出"剂量效应"的化感作用趋势,即4种潜在化感物质在高浓度时均可显著抑制大针茅的种子萌发和幼苗生长。  相似文献

The two parts of this paper work towards the common aim of setting contexts for and documenting explanations based on historical contingencies. The first part is a review of area effects in Cepaea. We discuss the original definitions and explanations, emphasizing the debate of adaptationist vsstochastic approaches, but arguing that the contrast of historical contingency vs. selective fit to environment forms a more fruitful and fundamental context in discussing the origin of area effects. We argue that contingencies of bottlenecks and opening of formerly unsuited habitats may explain the classic area effects of Cepaea better than selectionist accounts originally proposed. The second part is a documentation of an area effect within Cerion columnaon the northern coast of Great Inagua, Bahamas. Historical explanations are often plagued by insufficiency of preserved information, but the Inagua example provides an unusual density of data, with several independent criteria all pointing to the same conclusion. Shells in the area effect are squat and flat-topped in contrast with typical populations of long, thin, tapering shells living both east and west of the area effect. The flat-topped area effect is a result of introgression with a propagule of the C. dimidiatum stock (living on nearby Cuba, and most apically flattened of all Cerion). Fossils of this propagule were found fully cemented into highly indurated fossil soil crusts within the region of the current area effect. Multivariate morphometry, based on complex patterns of covariation, not just intermediacy in single characters, identifies the area effect samples as hybrids between this propagule and typical C. columna. Genetic analysis has identified three unexpected alleles in area effect samples only, and in no other snails of any other Cerion taxon anywhere else on Inagua. We hypothesize that the flattopped area effect did not arise as a selective response to local environments within C. columna, but by introgression from a fortuitously introduced propagule of the C. dimidiaium complex. The unexpected alleles therefore represent genetic phantoms of C. dimidiatum's former presence or are hybrizymes—novel alleles produced by interspecific hybridization  相似文献

Conclusions The effect of growth hormones obtained from three species of Phormidium (P. foveolarum, P. corium and P. autumnale) has beenstudied on the germination of the paddy seeds. The growth hormonesof P. foveolarum which is common in the paddy fields in natureaccelerates germination and promotes the growth of the seedlings. The beneficial effect however is restricted to low concen _ration ofthe hormone and soaking for a short duration only. Prolongedsoaking in water extract and soaking in ether extract exercises aninjurious effect shown by reduction in percentage germination ofseeds. 【目的】研究紫草素抑制白色念珠菌的作用机制。【方法】通过微量稀释法测定紫草素对白色念珠菌的最低抑菌浓度(MIC)和最低杀菌浓度(MFC);紫外分光光度法测定紫草素对白色念珠菌细胞膜渗透性的影响;扫描电镜观察紫草素对菌体形态的影响;激光共聚焦显微镜测定紫草素对白色念珠菌细胞内钙离子浓度的影响;卵黄平板培养基法检测紫草素对白色念珠菌的细胞膜磷脂酶活性的影响;RT-PCR检测紫草素对白色念珠菌PLB1和PLB2基因表达量的影响。【结果】紫草素对白色念珠菌有较强的抑制作用,其对白色念珠菌的MIC和MFC分别为16μg/m L和32μg/mL。紫草素能破坏白色念珠菌细胞膜的完整性,使细胞膜的通透性增加,导致细胞内DNA和RNA等大分子物质的泄漏和细胞内钙离子的流失。其中MIC的紫草素作用菌体16 h后,上清液中的DNA和RNA等大分子含量与对照组相比增加了117.32%(P0.01);细胞内的[Ca~(2+)]降低了72.02%(P0.01)。扫描电镜结果也证明了紫草素对白色念珠菌细胞膜的破坏作用。紫草素也能抑制白色念珠菌分泌磷脂酶,且呈浓度剂量依赖。其中,与对照组相比,MIC的紫草素能使白色念珠菌分泌磷脂酶的量下降56.3%(P0.01)。RT-PCR结果显示,紫草素能抑制编码磷脂酶B的基因PLB1和PLB2的表达量,其中1/2 MIC的紫草素作用白色念珠菌16 h后,与对照组相比,PLB1和PLB2基因的相对表达量分别降低了56.4%和61.4%(P0.01)。【结论】紫草素对白色念珠菌有较强的抑杀作用,其作用机制是通过破坏白色念珠菌细胞膜的完整性,增加菌体细胞膜的通透性,导致细胞内DNA和RNA等大分子的泄漏和细胞内[Ca~(2+)]的流失,最终引起菌体的死亡。而紫草素对白色念珠菌磷脂酶分泌的抑制作用,致使其不能及时维护和修复由紫草素造成的细胞膜的破坏和损伤,也是导致菌体死亡的原因。  相似文献

It has been shown that alkylbenzenes which do not support growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa exert a stimulatory or inhibitory effect on the utilization of n-alkanes by this organism. The effect is a function or the number of methyl substitutions to the benzene ring and the concentration of aromatic hydrocarbon. The alkylbenzenes have been shown to exert the stimulatory and inhibitory effect, on all phases of growth. The data suggests different mechanisms involved in the inhibition by benzene and p-xylene but a similar mechanism by all of the stimulatory compounds. Warburg data demonstrates changes in the rate of oxygen uptake in the presence of trimethylbenzene at different stages of the fermentation. The release of water soluble material in the presence of trimethylbenzene suggests a permeability effect on the cells.  相似文献

When Klebsiella pneumoniae capsular polysaccharide (CPS-K) from type 1, Kasuya strain, was injected intraperitoneally (i.p.) immediately before i.p. bacterial challenge, the survival time of mice infected with Salmonella enteritidis NUB 1 (virulent strain) was shortened and the mortality rate for mice infected with S. enteritidis NUB 31 (avirulent strain) was enhanced. The promotion of infection with S. enteritidis NUB 1 by CPS-K depended upon its dose, the effect of CPS-K being demonstrable up to as little as 0.2 μg per mouse. In the case of S. enteritidis NUB 31, the effect of CPS-K was detectable only when more than 20 μg per mouse was injected. As a result of enumeration of bacterial populations in the peritoneal washing, blood, liver and spleen, it was revealed that CPS-K promoted in vivo growth of S. enteritidis NUB 1 and NUB 31. In addition, CPS-K enhanced the mortality rate in mice infected with Streptococcus pyogenes or Streptococcus pneumoniae. The peak CPS-K effect on infection with S. enteritidis NUB 1 was seen when given immediately before bacterial challenge. The active substance responsible for the infection-promoting effect of CPS-K was neutral CPS-K, which is distinct from the O antigen and from acidic CPS-K (the type-specific capsular antigen). Preparations of neutral CPS-K isolated from the other three strains of K. pneumoniae exhibited a marked infection-promoting effect comparable with that of preparations from the Kasuya strain. Neutral CPS-K, with identical antigenicity to that from the Kasuya strain, has already been found to exert a strong adjuvant effect on antibody responses to various antigens in mice. No parallelism exists between infection-promoting activity and adjuvant activity of neutral CPS-K.  相似文献
