Uraline, a new norditerpenoid alkaloid from aerial parts of Delphinium uralense nevski

Uraline, a new norditerpenoid alkaloid, was isolated from aerial parts of Delphinium uralense. The structure of 1alpha,7,8-trihydroxy-6beta,14alpha,16beta-trimethoxy-18-N-(2-methyl)succinylanthranoyloxyaconane was ascribed to the new compound on the basis of 1H and 13C NMR, IR, and mass spectra. The known alkaloids methyllycaconitine and delcorine were also isolated from the plant.     

17-O-acetyl-19,20-dihydrovoachalotine,a new alkaloid from Voacanga chalotiana

The structure of 17-O-acetyl-19,20-dihydrovoachalotine, a new alkaloid from the root bark of Voacanga chalotiana, has been determined by spectroscopic analysis. The stereochemistry at C-20 has been deduced on the basis of ¹³C-NMR and comparison with other compounds containing the voachalotine skeleton.     

Iso-erysopinophorine,a new quaternary alkaloid from the seeds of Erythrina arborescens

The ethanolic extract of the seeds of Erythrina arborescens yielded a new quaternary alkaloid provisionally named as iso-erysopinophorine besides the other alkaloids reported previously. The new alkaloid was characterised by chemical and spectral studies.     

Parvine,a new angustine-type alkaloid from Nauclea parva

The bark of Nauclea parva contains several alkaloids, the most abundant of which, parvine, is of the corynanthé-type. The proof of structure of this alkaloid is given and its synthesis from harmalan and nicotinoyl chloride is described.     

Pubescine A,a cyclopeptide alkaloid from Discaria pubescens

From Discaria pubescens, a new peptide alkaloid, pubescine A (1), belonging to the frangulanine type has been isolated and its structure elucidated. Pubescine A seems to be isomeric to melonovine A. For the first time, d-leucine has been identified in a cyclopeptide alkaloid.     

Structure of solanaviol,a new steroidal alkaloid from Solanum aviculare

A new alkaloid solanaviol ((22R, 25R)-spirosol-5-ene-3β,12β-diol) was isolated from Solanum aviculare in addition to solasodine as one of the main alkaloids. The structure of solanaviol was established by NMR spectroscopy, as well as by conversion into a known pregnane derivative and solasodine.     

Psammaplysin H, a new antimalarial bromotyrosine alkaloid from a marine sponge of the genus Pseudoceratina

Mass-directed isolation of the CH₂Cl₂/CH₃OH extract from a marine sponge of the genus Pseudoceratina resulted in the purification of a new antimalarial bromotyrosine alkaloid, psammaplysin H (1), along with the previously isolated analogs psammaplysins G (2) and F (3). The structure of 1 was elucidated following 1D and 2D NMR, and MS data analysis. All compounds were tested in vitro against the 3D7 line of Plasmodium falciparum and mammalian cell lines (HEK293 and HepG2), with 1 having the most potent (IC₅₀ 0.41 μM) and selective (>97-fold) antimalarial activity.     

Sativanine-g,a cyclopeptide alkaloid from Zizyphus sativa

In addition to the already described peptide alkaloids from the bark of Zizyphus sativa, a new compound of this class, sativanine-G, has been isolated and its structure elucidated. This alkaloid contains a 13-membered ring system and belongs to the nummularine-C class.     

Heptazolicine,a carbazole alkaloid from Clausena heptaphylla

A new carbazole alkaloid designated as heptazolicine has been isolated from the roots of Clausena heptaphylla. On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence it has been identified as [2,2-dimethyl-3,4-dihydropyrano-(5, 6-a)]-3-formyl-8-hydroxy-carbazole.     

A new alkaloid from Voacanga chalotiana

The structure of 3-hydroxyvoachalotine, a new indole alkaloid isolated from the root bark of Voacanga chalotiana, has been determined by spectroscopic analysis and by chemical correlation with voachalotine.     

Cyclobuxoviricine,a steroidal alkaloid from Buxus papilosa

A new steroidal alkaloid has been isolated from the leaves of Buxus papilosa. Its structure has been assigned as 1 on the basis of spectroscopic studies.
