The concentration of Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Fe, Ca, Mg, K and Na in molluscsMacoma balthica, Mya arenaria, Cardium glaucum, Mytilus edulis andAstarte borealis from the southern Baltic was determined. The surface sediments and ferromanganese concretions associated with the molluscs were also analysed for concentration of these metals. Species- and regiondependent differences in the metal levels of the organisms were observed. The properties of molluscs analysed which have a tendency toward elevated biological tolerance of selected trace metals were specified. The interelement relationship between metal concentrations in the soft tissue and the shell was estimated and was discussed.  相似文献

2008年5—11月,对黄河口滨岸潮滩不同表现型碱蓬(Suaeda salsa)(中潮滩碱蓬,MMS,S.salsa in middle marsh;低潮滩碱蓬,LMS,S.salsa in low marsh)湿地植物-土壤系统V和Co含量的季节动态及其生物累积特征进行了研究。结果表明:MMS和LMS湿地表层土壤中V或Co含量的季节变化差异明显,但同一种湿地土壤中V和Co含量的变化模式相似。MMS(或LMS)湿地土壤的V含量均明显高于Co含量,二者在生长季的变异系数分别为12.01%、12.35%(MMS)和4.08%、4.94%(LMS)。MMS和LMS湿地表层土壤V的地累积指数(I_(geo))大多介于1—2,处于轻度污染状况;Co的I_(geo)大多介于0—1之间,处于无污染到轻度污染状态。V和Co含量在MMS不同部分中整体表现为枯落物根叶茎(P0.05),而在LMS中表现为枯落物叶茎根(P0.001)。MMS和LMS不同器官的V或Co转移能力存在较大差异,前者V和Co的R/S(根茎比)、R/L(根叶比)和S/L(茎叶比)大多大于1,后者中两种元素的相应比值则大多小于1。MMS和LMS不同部分的V和Co累积系数(AF)整体均表现为AFVAFCo,前者分别为后者的0.31—1.32、0.12—5.56、0.08—1.23、0.38—0.65倍(MMS)和0.14—0.84、0.23—0.68、0.34—0.77、0.43—0.56倍(LMS)。研究发现,MMS和LMS湿地土壤中有机质和铁锰氧化物含量的差异是导致二者V和Co含量存在差异的关键因素,而两种碱蓬生理生态学特性、所处生境水盐条件以及V和Co在不同器官扮演生态功能的差异是导致二者植物体内V和Co转移、分配与生物累积差异的重要原因。随着该区潮间带石油开采强度及石油燃料使用的增加,湿地表层土壤的V和Co(特别是V)污染问题将会逐渐凸显,而LMS可用于未来受V污染湿地修复的备选物种。  相似文献

The formation of carbonate concretions is a cementation process which passively infills the pore spaces within sediments. They record the original environments of deposition and diagenetic conditions of the host rocks. Little is known about the precise mechanisms responsible for the precipitation of carbonate concretions. The most common host rocks are mudstones/shales, sandstones, and limestones. This study presents an example of large carbonate concretions from an unusual host rock, the black bedded cherts of the Gufeng Formation (Guadalupian) at Enshi on the northern Yangtze Platform, South China. Petrographic observations (X‐ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy) and multiple geochemical analyses (pyrite‐ and carbonate‐associated‐sulfate (CAS)‐sulfur isotopes, carbon isotopes) indicate that (a) the studied carbonate concretion are mainly composed of micritic calcite with subordinate dolomite; (b) the concretions may have been mainly formed in the bacterial sulfate reduction (BSR) zone during very early diagenesis near the sediment–water surface; (c) the paleo‐bottom water overlying the sediments during formation of the concretions was mainly euxinic; and (d) the growth of the studied concretions proceeded via a pervasive model, where later cementation phase initiated in the lower part of the concretions and progressed upward.  相似文献

Aquatic macrophytes in the Concretion Cove area of Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia, Canada appear to restrict microbial manganese oxidation to the production of dispersed, microscopic oxides within sediments. When macrophyte roots are not present in the sediments, large ferromanganese concretions are found at the sediment surface. Macrophyte roots and the manganese oxidizers may have also played a role in the restriction of nitrification to deeper in the sediments.  相似文献

Present‐day groundwater in an alluvial aquifer in Holocene floodplain deposits in east‐central Alabama contains 0.1–4 mg/L Fe, 0.1–0.7 mg/L Mn, ~1–10 μg/L each of Co, Ni, As, Zn, La, and Ce, and 40–175 μ/L Ba. There is a distinct correspondence between trace elements present in groundwater and those concentrated on ferromanganese coatings on present‐day stream alluvium in the study area. This indicates that the reduction and dissolution of such coatings in the alluvial aquifer, probably mediated by Fe‐ and Mn‐reducing bacteria, has been a major control on groundwater chemistry. Authigenic euhedral pyrite crystals up to 1.5 cm in diameter replace lig‐nitic macro wood fragments near the base of the alluvial aquifer, and sulfur isotope data (δ34S values from +3 to ‐40‰CDT) indicate that pyrite precipitated as a consequence of bacterial sulfate reduction in and adjacent to the irregularly distributed wood fragments. The authigenic pyrite contains several hundred parts per million of As, Co, and Ni, indicating that these trace elements were coprecipitated in pyrite during bacterial sulfate reduction. Results suggest a strong geomicrobiological control on trace element cycling in the study area.  相似文献

于2015年7月份在闽江口鳝鱼滩湿地布设两条样带(T1和T2),并分别选取5个采样点采集沉积物样品。因重金属Co和V对动物和人类会造成一定危害,且闽江河口潮间带Co和V的研究较少,则对其理化性质、Co和V的空间分布特征以及污染程度等进行了研究,旨在为Co和V的污染研究提供参考。结果显示,该沉积物中Co和V的平均浓度分别为15.19 mg/kg、102.94 mg/kg,均高于福建省背景浓度,与其他河口对比,Co和V浓度处于中等水平。Co和V的含量由陆向海方向略有下降。地累积指数法分析得出沉积物中Co含量呈现轻度污染状态,V呈现无污染状态。此外,Co和V的潜在生态危害系数E_r~i分别为7.24—14.85和1.47—4.17,表明潜在生态危害轻微,闽江河口潮间带沉积物中Co和V属于轻度污染。  相似文献

Although the mesophotic zone of the Mediterranean Sea has been poorly investigated, there is an increasing awareness about its ecological importance for its biodiversity, as fish nursery and for the recruitment of shallow water species. Along with coastal rocky cliffs, isolated coralligenous concretions emerging from muddy bottoms are typical structures of the Mediterranean Sea mesophotic zone. Coralligenous concretions at mesophotic depths in the South Tyrrhenian Sea were investigated to assess the role of these coralligenous oases in relation to the biodiversity of surrounding soft sediments. We show here that the complex structures of the coralligenous concretions at ca. 110 m depth influence the trophic conditions, the biodiversity and assemblage composition in the surrounding sediments even at considerable distances. Coral concretions not only represent deep oases of coral biodiversity but they also promote a higher biodiversity of the fauna inhabiting the surrounding soft sediments. Using the biodiversity of nematodes as a proxy of the total benthic biodiversity, a high turnover biodiversity within a 200 m distance from the coralligenous concretions was observed. Such turnover is even more evident when only rare taxa are considered and seems related to specific trophic conditions, which are influenced by the presence of the coralligenous structures. The presence of a high topographic complexity and the trophic enrichment make these habitats highly biodiverse, nowadays endangered by human activities (such as exploitation of commercial species such as Corallium rubrum, or trawling fisheries, which directly causes habitat destruction or indirectly causes modification in the sedimentation and re-suspension rates). We stress that the protection of the coralligenous sea concretions is a priority for future conservation policies at the scale of large marine ecosystems and that a complete census of these mesophotic oases of biodiversity should be a priority for future investigations in the Mediterranean Sea.  相似文献

底质环境对浙江衢山岛潮间带大型底栖动物分布的影响   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
于2005年12月对岱山衢山岛的岩礁、泥滩和泥沙滩三种不同底质环境的潮间带生物进行了调查,以了解底质环境对其分布的影响。结果表明,不同底质类型潮间带分布的底栖动物种类数量不同,岩礁分布23种、泥滩分布17种、泥沙滩分布15种。不同底质的底栖动物生物量和栖息密度分布呈显著差异,且均为岩礁断面>泥滩断面>泥沙滩断面。不同底质潮间带底栖动物的多样性指数也不相同,其中Shannon-Weiner指数、Pielou均匀度和Margalef种类丰度的变化为泥滩断面>泥沙滩断面>岩礁断面,而Simpson优势度则表现为泥滩断面<泥沙滩断面<岩礁断面。对三种不同底质类型的潮间带动物分布进行了分析,阐述了底质环境决定着潮间带大型底栖动物种类及数量的分布特征,从而揭示了潮间带底质环境是影响底栖动物分布的重要因素。  相似文献

The impact of root temperature on Ni and Co concentration and accumulation has been studied in organs (roots, tubers, stems and leaves) of Solanum tuberosum L. var. Spunta plants. The response of foliar- and root-urease activity was also determined under the same conditions. Four different polyethylene plastic covers were employed (T1: transparent; T2: white; T3: coextruded black+white; T4: black), using uncovered plants as control (T0). The different treatments had a significant effect on mean root zone temperatures (T0 = 16 °C, T1 = 20 °C, T2 = 23 °C, T3 = 27 °C and T4 = 30 °C) and induced a significantly different response in the Ni and Co distribution in potato organs, since T3 (27 °C) gave higher concentrations of Ni in roots, leaves and tubers. The T1 (20 °C) registered the greatest Co concentration in leaves and roots, while T3 gave higher Co concentrations in tubers. The tubers proved to be the organs with the highest biomass and also the highest Co and Ni accumulation. With respect to the response of the urease activity as Ni-bioindicator, the root urease activity was higher in T1, whereas the leaf urease activity was higher in T3 and T4, coinciding with higher concentrations of leaf Ni. It is necessary to ascertain the relevance and control of the thermal regime of the soil to optimize the phytoextraction (phytoremediation) of elements.  相似文献

We analysed the concentrations of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn in the water, sediments, fish and plants of the River Hindon, U.P., India, at seven sampling stations, in the year 1982. Considerable variation in concentration between water, sediments, fish and plants were noted. The concentration in the water was in the order Fe > Zn > Cr > Mn > Cu > Pb > Ni > Co > Cd, in the sediments, Fe > Mn > Zn > Ni > Cr > - Co > Cu > Pb > Cd; in a fish (Heteropnuestes fossilis) Fe > Zn > Mn > Pb > Ni > Co > Cu > Cd > Cr, and in a plant (Eicchornia crassipes) Fe > Mn > Zn > Ni > Cu > Cr > Pb > Co > Cd.  相似文献

Ammonia aomoriensis(Asano,1951)和Ammonia beccarii(Linnaeus,1758)是两个形态学易混淆,但被广泛使用并具有重要环境指示意义的有孔虫。通过对渤海、黄海和东海陆架区60个站位表层沉积物的水平分布调查,并连续17个月对潮间带分低潮区和高潮区进行了季节调查,对二者的形态分类、生态分布和环境关系进行比较研究。结果表明A.aomoriensis和A.beccarii在潮间带的丰度都有季节性变化,体现冬高夏低的特点,前者一般在高潮区较多,后者在低潮区较多。二者的丰度从潮间带到陆架区随着水深的增加呈阶梯式锐减:平均含量分别达22%和39%;在水深<20m的陆架区平均含量分别降至15%和6%;在水深>20m的陆架区平均含量分别再次降至0.6%和1.4%。统计分析表明二者对盐度和水深的响应相似,但对温度的反应存在差异:在潮间带环境,二者的丰度都与盐度显著正相关;在浅海陆架环境,二者的丰度都与水深呈显著负相关;无论在潮间带还是陆架海区,A.beccarii的丰度都与海水温度呈显著负相关,但A.aomoriensis与温度相关性不显著。本研究结果显示A.aomoriensis和A.beccarii对滨岸浅海都具有优越的指示作用,在古环境分析中,首先可根据二者的含量进行环境推测(潮间带或者陆架浅海),再利用不同环境下本文所建立的线性方程对海水温、盐、深进行大体的估算。  相似文献

Abstract

The fractionation of heavy metals in riverbed sediments along the Tietê River basin, a highly polluted river in southeast region of Brazil, was investigated using a four-step sequential extraction procedure, in order to determine the concentration and distribution of Cu, Co, Cr, Cd, Zn, Ni and Pb, in the river bottom sediments, related to the potential mobility of geochemical phases. Around the metropolitan area of the City of São Paulo, which has 25 million people, the pollution is associated with municipal wastes and industrial effluents. Potentials of high mobility were observed for Cu and Zn along the entire river basin, associated mainly to the organic fraction, while at the Pirapora and Anhembi stations (upper and middle parts of the basin, respectively) the reactive forms of Ni and Pb were more associated to the Fe and Mn oxides. Near the mouth of the Tietê River, no significant contaminations caused by Cr and Ni in riverbed sediments was verified confirming the presence of these metals in the residual or lithogenous phase.  相似文献

The effect of salinity on germination, seedling emergence, seedling growth and ion accumulation of a euhalophyte Suaeda salsa L. in an intertidal zone and on saline inland were investigated. Brown seeds of S. salsa were heavier and better developed than black seeds in both the intertidal zone and on saline inland. The brown seeds/black seeds ratio for S. salsa in the intertidal zone was much higher than that for S. salsa on saline inland. More germinated seeds grew as seedlings under high salinity for S. salsa from the intertidal zone than S. salsa on saline inland; high salinity decreased the shoot length more severely for S. salsa from saline inland than for S. salsa from the intertidal zone; the seedling growth at a range of NaCl, measured either as shoot length or shoot dry weight, for S. salsa from the intertidal zone was lower than that of S. salsa from saline inland. In conclusion, for S. salsa from the intertidal zone there appears to be selection for slower growth and producing more brown seeds. The establishment of populations of S. salsa in different saline environments depends on the responses of seed germination, seedling emergence and seedling growth to salinity. These characteristics may determine the natural distributions of S. salsa populations in different saline environments.  相似文献

AIMS: To determine the levels and species distribution of enterococci in intertidal and marine sediments and coastal waters at two beaches frequently in violation of bacterial water standards. METHODS AND RESULTS: Faecal indicator bacteria were extracted from sediment and enumerated using membrane filtration. High levels of enterococci were detected in intertidal sediments in a seasonal river and near a storm drain outlet. Low levels were found in marine sediments at 10 m depths and in surf zone sand. Bacterial isolates presumptively identified as Enterococcus on mEI media were speciated. The predominant species found in both water and sediment included Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus hirae, Enterococcus casseliflavus and Enterococcus mundtii. A number of isolates (11-26%) from regulatory water samples presumptively identified as enterococci on mEI media were subsequently identified as species other than Enterococcus. At both study sites, the distribution of species present in water was comparable with those in sediments and the distribution of species was similar in water samples passing and exceeding bacterial indicator standards. CONCLUSIONS: High levels of Enterococcus in intertidal sediments indicate retention and possible regrowth in this environment. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: Resuspension of enterococci that are persistent in sediments may cause beach water quality failures and calls into question the specificity of this indicator for determining recent faecal contamination.  相似文献

The average composition of water, bottom sediments, manganese (Mn) crusts, and Mn concretions from Lake Biwa (the largest freshwater lake in Japan) are re-examined, in conjunction with those of seawater, oceanic pelagic clay, and deep-sea Mn nodules. The purpose is to gain additional insights into the geochemical behaviors of elements in Lake Biwa and the ocean, which are quite different in ionic strength (or salinity), pH, water residence times, sediment accumulation rates, carbon fluxes to sediments, and the redox potential in sediments. Excluding a few millimeters of oxic surface sediment, there is no appreciable accumulation of Mn in the Lake Biwa bottom sediments due to reducing condition there. Consequently, other B-type cations [such as iron (Fe), gallium (Ga), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), cobalt (Co), tin (Sn), and bismuth (Bi), with subshell valence electron configuration of d 1−10] are also less concentrated in the lake sediments than in the oceanic pelagic clay. In turn, B-type cations have much higher dissolved concentrations in the lake water than in the ocean. The rare earth elements (REE) mainly form organic complexes in the lake water and carbonate complexes in the ocean. REE are mostly associated with detritus aluminosilicate phases in Lake Biwa sediments but with phosphate phases in deep-sea sediments. Fe and Mn oxide phases are clearly separated in marine Mn nodules and crusts but not in Mn crusts and concretions from Lake Biwa. Useful parameters such as the enrichment factor (E Al) and logarithms of the distribution coefficient (log K d) of elements between solid and liquid phases were estimated in both systems for further discussions.  相似文献

Concretions are preferentially cemented zones within sediments and sedimentary rocks. Cementation can result from relatively early diagenetic processes that include degradation of sedimentary organic compounds or methane as indicated by significantly 13C‐depleted or enriched carbon isotope compositions. As minerals fill pore space, reduced permeability may promote preservation of sediment components from degradation during subsequent diagenesis, burial heating and outcrop weathering. Discrete and macroscopic organic remains, macro and microfossils, magnetic grains, and sedimentary structures can be preferentially preserved within concretions. Here, Cretaceous carbonate concretions of the Holz Shale are shown to contain relatively high carbonate‐free total organic carbon (TOC) contents (up to ~18.5 wt%) compared to the surrounding host rock (with <2.1 wt%). TOC increases with total inorganic carbon (TIC) content, a metric of the degree of cementation. Pyrite contents within concretions generally correlate with organic carbon contents. Concretion carbonate carbon isotope compositions (δ13Ccarb) range from ?22.5 to ?3.4‰ (VPDB) and do not correlate strongly with TOC. Organic carbon isotope compositions (δ13Corg) of concretions and host rock are similar. Thermal maturity data indicate that both host and concretion organic matter are overmature and have evolved beyond the oil window maturity stage. Although the organic matter in general has experienced significant oxidative weathering, concretion interiors exhibit lower oxygen indices relative to the host. These results suggest that carbonate concretions can preferentially preserve overmature, ancient, sedimentary organic matter during outcrop weathering, despite evidence for organic matter degradation genetic mechanisms. As a result, concretions may provide an optimal proxy target for characterization of more primary organic carbon concentrations and chemical compositions. In addition, these findings indicate that concretions can promote delayed oxidative weathering of organic carbon in outcrop and therefore impact local chemical cycling.  相似文献

White semi-consolidated carbonate sediments attached to black ferromanganese oxide films were collected approximately 50 km west of a newly discovered hydrothermal field near the Southwest Indian Ridge (SWIR). The biodiversity of the prokaryotic communities within the field was examined using clone library-based culture-independent analysis of the exterior black oxides and the interior white carbonates. Subsequent 16S rRNA gene analysis suggested that Gamma-proteobacteria, Acidobacteria, and Thaumarchaeota members dominated the bacterial and archaeal clone libraries. To further characterize the metabolic processes within the microbial community, analyses of the amoA (coding the alpha subunit of the ammonia monooxygenase for Archaea) and aprA (coding the alpha subunit of the dissimilatory adenosine-5′-phosphosulfate reductase for the sulfate-reducing and sulfur-oxidizing prokaryotes) functional genes were conducted. The functional gene analysis results suggested that Thaumarchaeota and Alphaproteobacteria members were the potential players that participated in N and S cycles in this marine carbonate sedimentary environment. This paper is the first to describe the microbial communities and their potential metabolic pathways within the semi-consolidated carbonate sediments of the SWIR.  相似文献

There are a need for novel, economical and efficient metal processing technologies to improve critical metal sustainability, particularly for cobalt and nickel which have extensive applications in low-carbon energy technologies. Fungal metal biorecovery processes show potential in this regard and the products of recovery are also industrially significant. Here we present a basis for selective biorecovery of Co and Ni oxalates and phosphates using reactive spent Aspergillus niger culture filtrate containing mycogenic oxalate and phosphate solubilized from struvite. Selective precipitation of oxalates was achieved by adjusting phosphate-laden filtrates to pH 2.5 prior to precipitation. Co recovery at pH 2.5 was high with a maximum of ~96% achieved, while ~60% Ni recovery was achieved, yielding microscale polyhedral biominerals. Co and Ni phosphates were precipitated at pH 7.5, following prior oxalate removal, resulting in near-total Co recovery (>99%), while Ni phosphate yields were also high with a recovery maximum of 83.0%.  相似文献

通过根际箱试验,研究了Cd与豆磺隆复合胁迫下小麦根 土界面Cd形态变化的空间和时间效应.在空间上将根-土界面(0~5 mm)细化到1 mm,在时间上将取样时间分为14、21、28、35和42 d,并将小麦体吸收的Cd与根 土界面各形态Cd作相关分析,从而得出影响小麦体生长的Cd形态.结果表明,在小麦不同的生长时间内,可交换态Cd表现出的空间效应明显不同.在小麦生长的第14天,根-土界面可交换态Cd大体上由根中心区(6.186 mg·kg-1)向根外区(6.482 mg·kg-1)逐渐增加;从小麦生长第21天到42天,根-土界面可交换态Cd呈现出由根中心区到某一层升高,之后又由该层到土体下降的趋势.根-土界面各层碳酸盐和铁锰结合态Cd向可交换态Cd转化的趋势由根中心区向根外区逐渐减弱,而向残留态Cd转化的趋势逐渐加强,有机结合态Cd浓度变化在近根区较大.碳酸盐结合态Cd、铁锰结合态Cd、有机结合态Cd浓度随时间而逐渐下降;残留态Cd浓度则表现出明显的上升趋势.相关分析表明,近根层的可交换态Cd和有机结合态Cd是小麦能直接利用的两种Cd形态.豆磺隆对可交换态Cd含量变化以及碳酸盐和铁锰结合态Cd的转化有明显影响.  相似文献

多稳态现象普遍存在于多种生态系统中,它与生态系统的健康和可持续发展密切相关,已成为生态学研究的热点与难点,但是目前有关滨海湿地生态系统多稳态的形成机制还缺乏深入研究.本文以崇明东滩鸟类自然保护区的潮间带生态系统为研究对象,通过以下内容,开展滨海湿地多稳态研究: 1)通过验证多稳态的判定依据“双峰”和“阈值”特征,证实长江口潮间带生态系统存在多稳态,并确定其稳态类型;2)通过监测潮间带生态系统水动力过程、沉积动力过程以及盐沼植物生长和扩散情况,分析盐沼植被与沉积地貌之间的正反馈作用,进而探讨潮间带生态系统多稳态的形成机制.结果表明: 1)潮间带生态系统的归一化植被指数(NDVI)频度分布存在明显的双峰特征,且盐沼植物成活存在生物量阈值效应,均证实潮间带生态系统存在多稳态,“盐沼”和“光滩”是潮间带生态系统的两种相对稳定状态;2)崇明东滩盐沼前沿的沉积地貌表现出泥沙快速淤积的趋势,显著促进了盐沼植物的生长,盐沼植物与泥沙淤积之间的这种正反馈作用是潮间带生态系统形成多稳态的主要原因;3)盐沼植被扩散格局监测结果在景观尺度上也表明,泥沙淤积作用促进了潮间带生态系统“盐沼”和“光滩”多稳态的形成.本研究既丰富了滨海湿地稳态转换的机理研究,也为我国开展海岸带保护、修复和管理提供了科学依据,具有重要的理论和实践意义.  相似文献
