Seasonal catches of the bean bug, Riptortus pedestris (Fabricius), captured in traps containing the synthetic pheromone, were investigated under different field conditions from 2005 to 2007. In soybean fields, the number of bugs attracted to the pheromone traps increased after flowering and peaked 9–13 days after flowering. After these attraction peaks, the populations of adult bugs and nymphs increased in soybean fields. In traps located in grassland, however, only small numbers of the bugs were caught during the soybean flowering stages (from mid August to early September). The sex ratio of adults caught in the pheromone traps differed among soybean growth stages. Before flowering, more males were caught than females. After flowering, trapped females increased in number and the proportion of females exceeded 0.5 throughout the flowering periods. These results suggest that attraction to the pheromone may be affected by host plant phenology, and that females, in particular, respond strongly to the pheromone during flowering of the host plant soybean.  相似文献

The morphology and functions of the brain neurons projecting to the retrocerebral complex were examined in terms of photoperiodic control of adult diapause in the bean bug, Riptortus pedestris. Backfills through the nervi corporis cardiaci stained 15-20 pairs of somata in the pars intercerebralis (PI) with contralateral axons, and 14-24 pairs in the pars lateralis (PL) with ipsilateral axons to the nervi corporis cardiaci. In the PL, two clusters of somata, PL-d and PL-v, were found. Forwardfills showed neurons in the PI terminated in the aorta, and those in the PL at the corpus cardiacum, corpus allatum, and aorta. Removal of the PI did not cause effects on diapause incidence both under short-day (12 h:12 h, light:dark) and long-day conditions (16 h:8 h, light:dark) at 25 degrees C. Under short-day conditions, diapause incidence was significantly lower than the controls after removal of the PL. Either removal of PL-d or PL-v did not reduce diapause incidence. It decreased only when both the PL-d and PL-v were ablated. The PI is not indispensable for diapause in R. pedestris, and both PL-d and PL-v neurons are suggested to be involved in photoperiodic inhibition of ovarian development.  相似文献

Following a re-examination of the material treated under Barleria brevispina (Fiori) Hedrén in the recent Flora of Somalia account of the Acanthaceae, it is concluded that two distinct species are involved and Barleria compacta Malombe & I. Boletus kermesinus, a new species of Boletus section Luridi, is fully described and illustrated based on the materials collected in subalpine coniferous forests of central Honshu, Japan. It has distinctive features of dark-red basidiomata having distinct viscidity in the pileus surface, usually unchanging flesh, discolorous red pores, and an entirely reticulate stipe becoming coarsely lacerate-rimose with age.  相似文献

Allophycocyanin (APC) is a minor component of phycobiliproteins in cyanobacteria and red algae. This paper describes a simple and inexpensive extracting method for isolating APC from Spirulina (Arthrospira) platensis with high efficiency. The crude phycobiliprotein extract was pretreated by ammonium sulfate fractionation. Then, by adding hydroxylapatite into crude phycobiliprotein extract dissolved in 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0), APC was selectively adsorbed by hydroxylapatite but C-phycocyanin (C-PC) was not. The hydroxylapatite was collected and APC was extracted from the crude phycobiliprotein extract. Then, the enriched APC was washed off from the hydroxylapatite using 100 mM phosphate buffer (pH 7.0). In this simple extracting method it was easy to remove C-PC and isolate APC in large amounts. The absorbance ratio A 650/A 280 of extracted APC reached 2.0. The recovery yield was 70%, representing 4.61 mg · g−1 wet weight. The extracted APC could be further purified by a simple anion-exchange chromatography with a pH gradient from 5.6 to 4.0. The absorbance ratio A 650/A 280 of the purified APC reached 5.0, and the overall recovery yield was 43%, representing 2.83 mg · g−1 wet weight. Its purity was confirmed by native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and sodium dodecyl sulfate-PAGE.  相似文献

Two new species of Rutaceae, Conchocarpus hamadryadicus Pirani & Kallunki and C. minutiflorus Groppo & Pirani are described and illustrated. Both are known so far only from small remnants of forests, the former in the caatinga dominium in Bahia, the latter in moist forests near Santa Teresa, Espírito Santo, Brazil. Their main diagnostic features are delineated, and their relationships to other species of Conchocarpus are discussed. Because Rauia racemosa Nees & Mart. can no longer be recognised as a synonym of Conchocarpus fontanesianus (A. St.-Hil.) Kallunki & Pirani, a new combination, C. racemosus (Nees & Mart.) Thaumastocoris peregrinus Carpintero and Dellapé (Hemiptera: Thaumastocoridae) is a native Australian Eucalyptus sap-feeding insect that has become invasive and seriously damaging to commercially grown Eucalyptus in the Southern Hemisphere. Cleruchoides noackae Lin and Huber (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) was recently discovered as an egg parasitoid of the Thaumastocoridae in Australia. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA; cytochrome c oxidase subunit I, COI) sequence diversity amongst 104 individuals from these native C. noackae populations revealed 24 sequence haplotypes. The COI haplotypes of individuals collected from the Sydney and Southeast Queensland clustered in distinct groups, indicating limited spread of the insect between the regions. Individuals collected from Perth in Western Australia were represented by four COI haplotypes. Although this population is geographically more isolated from other populations, two COI haplotypes were identical to haplotypes found in the Sydney region. The results suggest that C. noackae has recently been introduced into Perth, possibly from the Sydney area. The high mtDNA diversity and limited spread that is suggested for C. noackae is in contrast to the lack of geographic associated mtDNA diversity and extensive spread of T. peregrinus. If implemented as a biological control agent, this factor will need to be considered in collecting and releasing C. noackae.  相似文献

We present data on the habitat, density, and spatial distribution of Rivulus giarettai, and discuss some biotic and abiotic variables related to its abundance in Free Flowing Waters (FFW) and Dam Reservoirs (DR) in palm grove (Mauritia flexuosa) marshes (Veredas) in Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil. The mean density (individuals/plot) of R. giarettai was about 13 times higher in FFW than in DR. In FFW, the density of R. giarettai was highest at intermediate amounts of substrate (plant mass) and it was positively rank-correlated with the depth, and the number of arthropods. Individuals occurred in an aggregated distribution. The aggregated pattern could be related to a concentration of individuals in microhabitats neither too much exposed nor completely saturated by plants. R. giarettai was relatively abundant and tolerant to slight man-made habitat modifications. Damming appeared to be especially problematic by negatively affecting its density.  相似文献
