Syrrhopodon spuriodisciformis Dusén is removed from synonymy with Syrrhopodon africanus (Mitt.) Paris and reinstated as a distinct species. Syrrhopodon guineensis Broth. & Paris is recognised as a synonym of S. spuriodisciformis. Syrrhopodon africanus ssp. graminicola (R.S.Williams) W.D.Reese and S. africanus ssp. mandrakensis (Tixier) W.D.Reese are reconsidered as species, and the status of Syrrhopodon obuduensis Egunyomi & Olar. is discussed.  相似文献

Several taxa erroneously regarded as conspecific with Syrrhopodon trachyphyllus Mont. are reinstated. These include Syrrhopodon cavifolius Sande Lac., S. planifolius P. de la Varde, S. semperi Müll. Hal., S. tosaensis Cardot and Calymperopsis katemensis Zanten (=Syrrhopodon katemensis (Zanten) L.T. Ellis, comb. nov.). Syrrhopodon ludovicae Broth. & Paris is recognized as a synonym of S. mammillosus Müll. Hal., Syrrhopodon orientalis W. D. Reese & P. J. Lin as conspecific with S. cavifolius Sande Lac., Syrrhopodon cambodiensis Tixier as synonymous with S. semperi, S. calymperoides Cardot & P. de la Varde as conspecific with Syrrhopodon prolifer Schwägr., and S. prolifer var. mossmanensis W. D. Reese is placed in synonymy with S. katemensis (Zanten) L.T. Ellis. Varieties of Syrrhopodon prolifer Schwägr. occurring in the palaeotropics are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Syrrhopodon spiculosus Hook. &; Grev. and some associated taxa are revised. Syrrhopodon elimbatus Dixon and Syrrhopodon patens Dixon are confirmed as synonymous with S. spiculosus; Syrrhopodon hispidissimus Dixon and Syrrhopodon scalariformis Dixon are recognized as distinct species; S. spiculosus ssp. bokorenis Tixier is recognized as a synonym of S. mammillosus Müll.Hal. and Syrrhopodon perarmatus Broth. in Broth &; Watts is placed in synonymy with Syrrhopodon subciliatus Müll. Hal. Two new species are described from Borneo: Syrrhopodon teniolatus L.T.Ellis, sp. nov., which resembles S. hispidissimus but has a differentiated rib (teniola) within the margin of the distal hyaline leaf base, and Syrrhopodon multipapillosus L.T.Ellis, sp. nov. This resembles a miniature version of Syrrhopodon kilauae Müll.Hal. but has cells in the chlorophyllose lamina exserted dorsally and/or ventrally as tall, papillose projections.  相似文献

Syrrhopodon cuneifolius Thér. is lectotypified and confirmed as a good species, endemic to Madagascar. The features distinguishing it from the superficially similar Syrrhopodon leprieurii Mont., and morphological variation in the latter are discussed. In contrast to the leaves in S. leprieurii, those in S. cuneifolius generally lack large spines, possess a costa with a ventral cortex of small pluripapillose cells, and have a marginal stereome that fails short of the leaf apex. Consideration is given to removing Syrrhopodon recurvulus Mitt. from synonymy with S. leprieurii and placing it in synonymy with Syrrhopodon gaudichaudii Mont.  相似文献

During cruise 198 of F.R.V. `Walther Herwig III' in August/September 1998, eight successful hauls were made in the southern part of the West Europe Basin from the bottom in a depth of about 4700 m. Seven samples were taken around 46° N, 17° W and one at 46° N, 13° W. In the same region, two decapod crustaceans were dredged during cruise 175 in 1996 and one in 1993. The following species of typical deep-sea decapods, most of them rarely recorded, were collected: Willemoesia leptodactyla (Willemoes-Suhm, 1873); Parapagurus abyssorum (Filhol, 1885); Munidopsis crassa Smith,1885; Munidopsis parfaiti (A. Milne-Edwards & Bouvier, 1894); Heterogenys microphthalma (Smith, 1885); Glyphocrangon atlantica Chace, 1939; Benthesicymus brasiliensis Bate, 1881; Benthesicymus iridescens Bate, 1881; Plesiopenaeus armatus (Bate, 1881). For most of these species of Reptantia and Natantia, our knowledge on vertical and/or geographic range is extended considerably by the new records and some new records enable us to enlarge our knowledge on morphological variations within these species.  相似文献

Fourteen new species of palms (Arecaceae) from Madagascar are described and named, based on material collected over the last 15 years. Twelve species belong to the genus Dypsis, namely D. andilamenensis Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. anjae Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. betsimisarakae Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. culminis Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. dracaenoides Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. gautieri Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. gronophyllum Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. jeremiei Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. metallica Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. reflexa Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf., D. sancta Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf. and D. vonitrandambo Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf. and two species belong to the genus Ravenea: R. beentjei Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf. and R. hypoleuca Rakotoarin. & J. Dransf. Despite the fact that most of these species have been recorded from protected areas that are difficult to access in the eastern region of Madagasacar, they are all threatened. Based on IUCN categories and criteria, seven are Critically Endangered and seven are Vulnerable.  相似文献

Summary The influence of food quantity and quality on growth and survival of Onychiurus armatus (Tullb.) in metal polluted environments has been investigated in laboratory experiments. The Collembola was reared on five species of fungi isolated from a metal polluted soil close to a brass mill in SE Sweden.Survival of O. armatus was improved when fungal biomass was continuously added in a polluted mor (1,300 ppm Zn and 200 ppm Cu), and when specimens were fed metal polluted fungi for 1, 3 and 7 days a week, only those that were starved had increased mortality. Allometric growth, on the other hand, was significantly reduced when Collembola was given surplus of metal polluted fungi, whereas growth losses caused by metals were offset by protein rich food. Hence, sufficient food quantities alone could overcome mortality losses but not growth retardation in a metal polluted environment.Feeding preference of O. armatus was not determined by the protein content of the fungi although this was beneficial for growth. Metals changed the relative palatability of fungal species, but one of the metal tolerant species, Paecilomyces farinosus, which was also protein rich, remained reasonably attractive for O. armatus also when it was metal polluted. The mechanisms by which growth and survival of O. armatus were promoted by a combination of protein and Zn/Cu rich fungi seemed to be crucial in understanding the fate of a population of this species in a metal polluted soil.  相似文献

Over the last decade, the non-native, filter-feeding crab Petrolisthes armatus invaded oyster reefs of the South Atlantic Bight at densities of thousands m−2. Mesocosm and field experiments demonstrated that P. armatus at ∼10–75% of mean summer densities: (1) suppressed growth of small oysters, biomass of benthic microalgae, and recruitment of native mud crabs, (2) enhanced oyster, mussel, and total bivalve recruitment, macroalgal cover, and survivorship of predatory oyster drills, but (3) did not affect native taxonomic richness. Laboratory feeding assays, field tethering experiments, and population changes in field and mesocosm experiments suggest that P. armatus is a preferred prey for native mud crabs and other consumers, thus relieving predation on native species and enhancing recruitment or survival of bivalves and oyster drills. In contrast, the invasive crab can consume crustacean larvae and via this feeding may suppress recruitment of native mud crabs. Our findings should be conservative given the low densities of P. armatus seeded into experimental plots and our inability to run longer-term experiments due to controls rapidly being colonized by non-native crabs recruiting from the plankton. Invasive crabs commonly impact native communities via predation, but community impacts of this invasive crab may be as much due to its role as a preferred prey of native consumers as to its predation on native prey. Given that oysters are foundation species for shallow reefs in the South Atlantic Bight, the long-term effects of this invasion could be considerable.  相似文献

Summary  Seven new names at species rank are proposed in Memecylon sect. Afzeliana Jacq.-Fél., a group of forest shrubs and small trees confined to Guineo-Congolian Africa. The group is centred in Cameroon, where 17 of the 20 species occur. A new flower type, the “star-flower” in Memecylon is revealed, and its taxonomic and ecological importance discussed. Three new, locally endemic species from the South West Province of Cameroon are described, mapped and illustrated: M. kupeanum R. D. Stone, Ghogue & Cheek, M. bakossiense R. D. Stone, Ghogue & Cheek, and M. rheophyticum R. D. Stone, Ghogue & Cheek. Two new names, M. accedens R. D. Stone, Ghogue & Cheek and M. hyleastrum R. D. Stone & Ghogue and one new combination, M. mamfeanum (Jacq.-Fél.) R. D. Stone, Ghogue & Cheek are provided at species level for three taxa originally proposed as varieties of M. afzelii G. Don. The taxon M. arcuatomarginatum var. simulans Jacq.-Fél. is also elevated to species status, as M. simulans (Jacq.-Fél.) R. D. Stone & Ghogue. Conservation assessments are provided for all the newly named taxa. A key is provided to the species of Memecylon sect. Afzeliana.  相似文献

The responses of individuals of Cherax destructor and Euastacus armatus to water containing stressed or unstressed crayfish were tested in the laboratory. Individuals of E. armatus showed only an increase in locomotion when stressed crayfish water was introduced. Individuals of C. destructor showed a decrease in the time spent in a lowered posture, an increase in the time spent in the raised posture and in grooming behaviour when stressed crayfish water was introduced. Individuals of C. destructor responded more strongly to heterospecific animals (Cherax rotundus and E. armatus) than to conspecifics. Four species of the genus, Bryoria were found in the Sučí Potok Valley: B. capilaris (Ach.) Brodo & D. Hawksw., B. fuscescens (Gyeln.) Brodo & D. Hawksw., B. implexa (Hoffm.) Brodo & D. Summary  Three closely affiliated species of Heterospathe Scheff. (H. elegans (Becc.) Becc., H. humilis Becc. and H. versteegiana Becc.) from New Guinea are revised. They are reduced to a single species which is divided into two subspecies, and the new combination H. elegans subsp. humilis (Becc.) M. S. Trudgen & W. J. Baker is made. The subspecies can be readily distinguished by their growth habit. Epitypes are designated for the three previously published names, as informative material on the habit is not included in the existing type specimens. Abstract

The recent discovery of an Orthodontium form in two localities in Holland led us to a revision of the species concerned, viz. the species published for Europe and the type-species of the genus, O. lineare Schwaegr. It has been shown that O. gracile var. heterocarpum Wats. agrees in nearly all characters with O. lineare. Consequently the name of the variety is regarded as synonym of the type-species. O. germanicum F. W. & K. Koppe also appears to belong here. O. gracile Schwaegr. ex Br. & Schimp., however, is distinct in some important characters and is retained as a separate species. The French O. Gaumei Allorge & Thériot is markedly distinct from the other European species but is closely related to the Asiatic O. infractum. The present study re-examines the detailed morphology of the type-species, Diclidophora merlangi (Kuhn, in Nordmann, 1832) Krøyer, 1838, and other Diclidophora species parasitic on gadid fishes: D. denticulata (Olsson, 1876) Price, 1943, D. esmarkii (Th. Scott, 1901) Sproston, 1946, D. luscae (van Beneden & Hesse, 1863) Price, 1943, D. minor (Olsson, 1868) Sproston, 1946, D. palmata (Leuckart, 1830) Diesing, 1850, D. phycidis (Parona & Perugia, 1889) Sproston, 1946, D. pollachii (van Beneden & Hesse, 1863) Price, 1943 and the recently described D. micromesisti Suriano & Martorelli, 1984. An amended generic diagnosis of Diclidophora Krøyer, 1838 (synonym Diclidophora Diesing, 1850) is provided, which includes the presence of a prostatic vesicle in the terminal male genitalia and the distal fusion of the median and peripheral sclerites, a1 and c1 in the clamp anterior jaw. Macrouridophora n. g. is herein proposed for species previously considered in Diclidophora, which are parasitic on macrourid and morid fishes. The clamp morphology in Macrouridophora n. g. has distinct lamellate extension attachments to peripheral sclerites c1 and the distal portion of d1, with no distal fusion between a1 and c1 in the anterior jaw. Macrouridophora macruri (Brinkmann, 1942) n. comb. is chosen as the type-species. Nine other species are herein transferred to Macrouridophora n. g.: M. coelorhynchi (Robinson, 1961) n. comb., M. lotella (Machida, 1972) n. comb., M. nezumiae (Munroe, Campbell & Zwerner, 1981) n. comb. and M. tubiformis (Rohde & Williams, 1987) n. comb. are redescribed, based on the re-examination of type or voucher specimens. Macrouridophora attenuata (Mamaev & Zubtschenko, 1979) n. comb., M. caudata (Mamaev & Zubtschenko, 1984) n. comb., M. papilio (Mamaev & Avdeev, 1981) n. comb., M. paracoelorhynchi (Mamaev & Paruchin, 1979) n. comb. and M. physiculi (Mamaev & Avdeev, 1981) n. comb. have adequately described haptoral clamps in the literature. The clamp morphology in Macrouridophora sp. from Lepidorhynchus denticulatus in Australia is also considered. Diclidophora whitsonii Suriano & Martorelli, 1984 is herein transferred to the genus Macruricotyle Mamaev & Ljadov, 1975, as M. whitsonii (Suriano & Martorelli, 1984) n. comb. D. embiotocae Hanson, 1979 is herein considered a species incertae sedis. D. caudospina Khan & Karyakarte, 1983 and D. paddiforma Deo & Karyakarte, 1979 are herein considered species inquirendae. D. aglandulosa Deo, 1977, D. glandulosa Das, 1972, D. minuta Das, 1972 and D. spindale Deo, 1977 are formally dismissed as nomina nuda. The systematic position of Diclidophora Krøyer, 1838 and Macrouridophora n. g. in the subfamily Diclidophorinae Cerfontaine, 1895 (sensu Mamaev, 1976) is discussed.  相似文献
