The investigations were carried out on 70 growing broiler chickens. The chickens were kept on a higher and the other ones on the lower level of nutrition. As a result of this the rate of growth was different in both groups. Glucagon had a strong calorigenic effect, reaching a peak 30 min after its injection. This effect of glucagon increased progressively with the growth and development of birds reaching a maximum in chickens aged about 7 weeks, and weighing approx. 1200 g. In the birds examined 2 hours after feeding the calorigenic effect of glucagon was most expressed in birds maintained on the low nutrition levels. The fall of RQ after glucagon injection may suggest that this hormone has a strong lipolytic action.  相似文献

Increased activity improves broiler leg health, but also increases the heat production of the bird. This experiment investigated the effects of early open-field activity and ambient temperature on the growth and feed intake of two strains of broiler chickens. On the basis of the level of activity in an open-field test on day 3 after hatching, fast-growing Ross 208 and slow-growing i657 chickens were allocated on day 13 to one of the 48 groups. Each group included either six active or six passive birds from each strain and the groups were housed in floor-pens littered with wood chips and fitted with two heat lamps. Each group was fed ad libitum and subjected to one of the three temperature treatments: two (HH; 26°C), one (HC; 16°C to 26°C) or no (CC; 16°C) heat lamps turned on. Production and behavioural data were collected every 2 weeks until day 57. For both strains, early open-field activity had no significant effects on their subsequent behaviour or on any of the production parameters measured, and overall, the slow-growing strain was more active than the fast-growing strain. Ambient temperature had significant effects on production measures for i657 broilers, with CC chickens eating and weighing more, and with a less efficient feed conversion than HH chickens, with HC birds intermediate. A similar effect was found for Ross 208 only for feed intake from 27 to 41 days of age. Ross 208 chickens distributed themselves in the pen with a preference for cooler areas in the hottest ambient temperature treatments. In contrast, the behaviour of the slow-growing strain appeared to be relatively unaffected by the ambient temperature. In conclusion, fast-growing broilers use behavioural changes when trying to adapt to warm environments, whereas slow-growing broilers use metabolic changes to adapt to cooler ambient temperatures.  相似文献

Various environmental factors affect livestock production but heat stress is a major challenge in the poultry farming. Poultry exposes to high temperature alters blood immunological parameters and liver enzymatic function which in turn, suppress the immunity and disease resistance of chickens. Thus, the purpose of present study was to explore the effect of dietary curcumin supplementation on blood immunological biomarker and liver enzymatic activity of laying hens under heat stress conditions. Experimental groups contained two control groups (normal temperature control (NC) and heat stress control (HC) and 3 heat stress curcumin treatment groups (HT100, HT200 and HT300). Hens in HC group with basal diet and heat stress curcumin treatment groups were exposed 6 h/day heat stress (32 ± 1 °C) from 10:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. for 9 week. The results of present study showed that heat stressed curcumin treatment group had improved liver weight, WBC values and immunoglobulin level as compared to untreated HC and NC groups. The available results also indicated that laying hens supplemented with curcumin under high temperature conditions had reduced H/L ratio, serum corticosterone levels, inflammatory cytokines response and liver enzymatic activity (ALT) which enhanced the immunity of laying hens under hot climatic conditions. Therefore, it is concluded that curcumin has ability to combat harsh environmental conditions which can be used as anti-inflammatory and immune booster feed additive in the poultry nutrition.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine if a diet supplemented simultaneously with vitamins C and E would alleviate the negative effects of heat stress, applied between 28 and 42 days of age, on performance, carcass and meat quality traits of broiler chickens. A total of 384 male broiler chickens were assigned to a completely randomized design, with a 2×3 factorial arrangement (diet with or without vitamin supplementation and two ambient temperatures plus a pair-feeding group) and 16 replicates. Chickens were kept in thermoneutral conditions up to 28 days of age. They were then housed in groups of four per cage, in three environmentally controlled chambers: two thermoneutral (22.5 and 22.6°C) and one for heat stress (32°C). Half the chickens were fed a diet supplemented with vitamins C (257 to 288 mg/kg) and E (93 to 109 mg/kg). In the thermoneutral chambers, half of the chickens were pair-fed to heat stressed chickens, receiving each day the average feed intake recorded in the heat stress chamber in the previous day. Meat physical quality analyses were performed on the pectoralis major muscle. No ambient temperature×diet supplementation interaction effects were detected on performance, carcass, or meat quality traits. The supplemented diet resulted in lower growth performance, attributed either to a carry-over effect of the lower initial BW, or to a possible catabolic effect of vitamins C and E when supplemented simultaneously at high levels. Heat stress reduced slaughter and carcass weights, average daily gain and feed intake, and increased feed conversion. Growth performance of pair-fed chickens was similar to that of heat stressed chickens. Exposure to heat stress increased carcass and abdominal fat percentages, but reduced breast, liver and heart percentages. Pair-fed chickens showed the lowest fat percentage and their breast percentage was similar to controls. Heat stress increased meat pH and negatively affected meat color and cooking loss. In pair-fed chickens, meat color was similar to the heat stressed group. Shear force was not influenced by heat stress, but pair-fed chickens showed the tenderest meat. In conclusion, reduction in growth performance and negative changes in meat color in heat stressed chickens were attributed to depression in feed intake, whereas negative changes in body composition, higher meat pH and cooking loss were credited to high ambient temperature per se. Diet supplementation with vitamins C and E as antioxidants did not mitigate any of these negative effects.  相似文献

The experiment comprised 48 chicken (Gallus gallus) embryos from a modern, fast growing line, Ross 308 (RO) and 48 from a slow growing line, Labresse (LA). The O(2) consumption and CO(2) production were measured in an open-air-circuit respiration unit, and heat production (HE) from embryos was calculated at an age of 10, 13, 16 and 19 days. Gas exchange was below 10 ml/h for RO and LA by an age of 10-13 days, increasing steeply to a "peak" on day 16 and then slowing down between 16 and 19 days. The pattern of curves for gas exchange was identical for RO and LA, but on a lower level for LA. HE followed the pattern of gas exchange, with a mean around 50 J/h on day 10, increasing to 528 (RO) and 402 (LA) J/h on day 19. The main source of HE was oxidized fat. In addition to respiration experiments chemical analyses were carried out on 60 eggs from RO and 60 from LA. Prior to chemical analyses the eggs were incubated for 7, 13 and 19 days. Since fat oxidation was the main energy fuel the content of fat in the eggs decreased by 2.0 (RO) and 1.6 g (LA), while protein content was fairly constant in each line. It is remarkable that the differences in heat production between chickens from fast and slow growing lines were already manifested during their embryonic development.  相似文献

The provision of supplemental ascorbic acid has been reported to lower the body temperature of chickens maintained at elevated environmental temperatures. Since body temperature is the net effect of heat production and heat loss, it is not known if the reductions in body temperature were due to a lower heat production or an increase in heat loss. The purpose of this work was to determine if supplemental ascorbic acid facilitates heat loss in chickens exposed to an elevated temperature. On day 12 post-hatch broiler chickens were implanted intra-abdominally with a thermo-sensitive radio transmitter. The following day, birds were placed inside an indirect calorimeter maintained at 34 C for 24 h and provided water containing 0 or 400 ppm ascorbic acid. Oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, heat production, respiratory exchange ratio, and body core temperature were measured for 3 h; beginning 21 h after the birds were placed inside the calorimeter. No differences were observed in heat production or body core temperature between birds provided or not and 400 ppm ascorbic acid. This suggests that ascorbic acid has no effect on heat loss. Birds provided ascorbic acid did exhibit a significantly lower respiratory exchange ratio suggesting a greater utilization of lipid for energy production. Although lipid has a lower heat increment compared with protein and carbohydrate, the significance of this finding to birds exposed to elevated temperature is not known. In conclusion, under the conditions of this study the provision of supplemental ascorbic acid to broiler chickens maintained at an elevated temperature did not affect heat loss as inferred from measured heat production and body core temperature.  相似文献

The experiments were carried out on broiler chickens divided randomly into two groups differing in the feeding level and, consequently, in the rate of weight gain. Half the chickens in each group were given a single dose of glucagon 150 micrograms/kg, and the other half received a control solution of glycine buffer. The chickens were investigated 1--1.5 hour after feeding and after 18--20 hours of starvation using the technique of biopsy of the liver and the external pectoral muscle. In the biopsy specimens the glycogen level was determined immediately before glucagon administration and 30--60--90 minutes after the injection. It was found that glucagon injection caused either a rise or a fall in the glycogen level in the liver and that the trend of these changes depended on the feeding level of the chickens and on the duration of starvation of the birds before treatment. The glycogen level in the pectoral muscle of the chickens kept on the higher feeding level was observed to fall one hour after glucagon administration.  相似文献

In chickens, elevated environmental temperature reduces food intake. We have previously reported that, during heat stress, the intestinal mucosa has an increased capacity to take up sugars. To investigate whether the effects of warm environment on sugar uptake are an intestinal adaptation to lower energy intake or a response attributable to heat stress, we examined the glucose transport kinetics of apical and basolateral membranes of the jejunum and the mucosal morphology of broiler chickens maintained in climatic chambers for 2 wk. Experimental groups were 1) control ad libitum (CAL), fed ad libitum and in thermoneutral conditions (20 degrees C); 2) heat stress ad libitum (HSAL), fed ad libitum and kept in a heated environment (30 degrees C); and 3) control pair-fed (CPF), maintained in thermoneutral conditions and fed the same amount of food as that consumed by the HSAL group. Both the CPF and the HSAL groups showed reduced body weight gain, but only the HSAL chickens had lower plasma thyroid hormones and higher corticosterone than CAL and CPF groups. The fresh weight and length of the jejunum were only reduced in the HSAL group. The activity and expression of apical sodium-dependent glucose transporter 1 (SGLT-1) were increased by approximately 50% in the HSAL chickens, without effects in the CPF group. No changes in K(d) or in SGLT-1 and glucose transporter-2 K(m) were observed in the pair-fed and heated birds. These results support the view that increased intestinal hexose transport capacity is entirely dependent on adaptations of apical SGLT-1 expression to heat stress and is not due to reduced food intake.  相似文献

The effect of dietary selenium yeast, a source of organic selenium, on heat shock protein 70 (hsp70) responses, redox status, growth and feed utilization were evaluated either in enteropathogenic Escherichia coli-challenged (EPEC) or in heat-stressed (HS) male broiler chickens grown to 42 days of age. One day-old chicks in experiment 1 were challenged orally with EPEC (10(6) cfu/chicken on day 1 and boosted by water application on days 2, 3, and 4) and fed diets with or without selenium yeast. Body weight (BW), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and total mortality were determined at 42 days of age, and this was followed by collection of ileal tissue for the quantification of total glutathione (TGSH), reduced glutathione (GSH), oxidized glutathione (GSSG), and hsp70 in randomly selected chickens from each treatment. In experiment 2, male broiler chickens were fed diets with or without selenium yeast under a thermoneutral rearing condition. At four weeks of age, blood and hepatic tissue were collected from chickens maintained in the thermoneutral environment and from chickens subjected to HS (40 degrees C for 1 h) and analyzed for TGSH, GSH, GSSG, and hsp70. Selenium yeast improved BW, FCR, and decreased mortality in both control and EPEC-challenged chicks. Selenium yeast significantly attenuated hsp70 expression in EPEC-challenged chickens and in those subjected to HS. The EPEC challenge increased TGSH and GSSG levels and decreased GSH/GSSG ratio. However, GSSG level accumulated in chickens fed diets without selenium supplementation resulting in a lower GSH/GSSG ratio in the selenium yeast-fed group. Heat stress increased GSSG level and decreased GSH/GSSG ratio. Selenium yeast-fed groups maintained higher levels of GSSG before and after HS with a resultant lower GSH/GSSG ratio. The hsp70 response was significantly less in those chickens fed selenium yeast and challenged with either EPEC or HS than in those chickens given no supplemental selenium. The results of this study suggest that selenium yeast supplementation had imparted resistance to oxidative stress associated with enteric bacteria infection and to high temperature exposure. It is believed that the resistance to the stressors was due to an improved redox status of the selenium yeast-fed chickens.  相似文献

目的:探讨早期肠内及肠外营养支持对老年胃癌术后的运用,为改善患者的预后提供临床指导。方法:选取我院2008年2月~2014年2月收治的152例老年胃癌患者,分别纳入肠内营养(Enteral nutrition,EN)组(51例)、肠外营养(Parenteral nutrition,PN)组(51例)及EN联合PN组(50例),比较各组患者术后并发症、营养指标、血清指标及住院情况等,分析老年胃癌术后的最佳营养支持方案。结果:EN组胃肠道功能恢复时间为(46.3±5.2)h,PN组为(51.4±7.3)h,EN联合PN组为(41.9±4.4)h,EN联合PN组胃肠道功能恢复时间显著低于其他两组(P0.05);三组患者术后白蛋白、转铁蛋白、前白蛋白及CD8测定值无明显统计学差异(P0.05),EN联合PN组血清C反应蛋白、CD4显著低于其他两组,CD3和CD4/CD8显著高于其他两组(P0.05);EN联合PN组感染性并发症发生率及住院时间均显著低于其他两组(P0.05),其治疗费用介于EN组和PN组之间。结论:肠内联合肠外序贯营养支持较单纯肠内营养或肠外营养支持具有高效、合理、经济、安全等多种优势,能够促进患者消化吸收功能的恢复,改善老年胃癌患者预后和生存质量,值得各级医院推广应用。  相似文献

The quality of the attachment of meat to bone is often reported to be insufficient by more and more poultry's consumers. This is particularly true for thigh meat in broilers. The aim of this study was to compare muscle to bone attachment (namely, tendons) from a biomechanical and a biochemical point of view in 50 standard (S) and 50 Label Rouge (LR) chickens. Carcasses weighted around 1.7 kg in the two groups. Two tendons were harvested and proceeded for passive stretch tests, prior to cooking or not, to determine main mechanical characteristics (maximum load, stiffness and longitudinal strain). Biochemical parameters such as dry matter percentage, total collagen content, collagen solubility and sulphated glycosaminoglycans (sGAGs) content were also determined. Results showed that biomechanical values differ largely between the two studied tendons. For a given tendon, the values were also different between the two groups of chickens mainly after cooking. The results clearly showed that, mainly after cooking, the mechanical resistance of tendon to stretch was better in LR than in S chickens. LR chickens were reported to have tendons with higher collagen and sGAGs contents associated with a lower collagen solubility. These differences may explain biomechanical differences observed for the two types of tendons and could be due to increased age and/or higher physical activity of LR chickens.  相似文献

Individual daily food intake, mass‐specific growth rate and growth efficiency in groups of juvenile brown trout Salmo trutta were compared in tank experiments with three water level regimes (fluctuating, stable high and low water levels) and two temperature regimes (fluctuating between 10 and 14° C and constant 14° C) to simulate events during hydropeaking in regulated rivers. Fish exposed to high stable water level showed higher food intake and growth rate, and higher or similar growth efficiency than fish exposed to fluctuating or stable low water level. Both groups of slow‐growing and fast‐growing individuals fed less and grew slower at stable low and fluctuating water level than at stable high water level. Furthermore, growth and growth efficiency were lower in brown trout exposed to stable low water level and fluctuating temperature, particularly for groups of fish with slow growth. Temperature did not have any effect at high water level. For groups of fast‐growing fish, there was no difference in growth efficiency between treatments. It is concluded that fluctuating water level and temperature have a potentially detrimental effect on growth in juvenile brown trout and effects are more severe in slow‐ than fast‐growing fish.  相似文献

目的探讨早期给予添加益生菌的滋养量肠内营养(EN)对重症脑卒中患者呼吸机相关性肺炎(VAP)的影响。方法选择2015年10月1日至2017年10月1日我院神经内科收治的接受鼻饲饮食及机械通气的重症脑卒中患者56例,随机分为对照组和观察组各28例。对照组患者在入院48h内给予早期肠内营养支持治疗,观察组在对照组基础上常规给予双歧杆菌乳杆菌三联活菌片鼻饲,并给予滋养量肠内营养支持治疗(起始量10~20mL鼻饲低速泵入)。比较两组患者治疗后肠内营养达标时间、肠内营养并发症发生率、营养状态指标、炎症因子水平、呼吸机相关性肺炎发生率、脱机成功率及病死率。结果治疗后,观察组患者腹胀、腹泻、应激性高血糖发生率较低,肠内营养达标时间较短。同时观察组患者血清白蛋白、前白蛋白、淋巴细胞计数均高于对照组,血WBC、CRP、PCT水平均低于对照组。观察组患者脱机成功率相对较高,呼吸机相关性肺炎发生率相对较低。观察组患者GCS评分、APACHEⅡ评分及病死率相对较低,但差异均无统计学意义(P0.05)。结论早期给予添加益生菌的滋养量肠内营养有助于提高患者肠内营养的耐受性,改善患者营养状态,降低炎性因子水平,有助于减少呼吸机相关性肺炎发生率。  相似文献

Dietary ascorbic acid (AA) and heat stress (HS) affect heat shock protein 70 (hsp70) and body temperature (BT) of strain cross white Leghorn chickens. At five weeks of age, chicks fed either no supplemental AA (N-AA) or 200 mg/kg AA (AA) were subjected to either HS (42 degrees C) or maintained in control (CN, 23 degrees C) ambient temperature (T(a)) for 1 h. Body temperature (BT) was recorded for each bird before collection of heart and liver for hsp70 assay. In the CN AA-fed groups, neither the lower constitutive hsc70 nor the decreased hsp70 response to HS in the heart and liver were sex-dependent. The BT was increased by HS, but neither AA nor sex of the bird affected BT response. A diet X T(a) interaction revealed that BT of CN AA-fed chickens was lower than in N-AA-fed chickens, but BT of HS AA-fed chicks was greater than BT in HS N-AA-fed chickens. The BT and hsp70 responses were positively correlated. A lower expression of hsp70 indicated less of a stress response in the AA-fed chickens.  相似文献

Both dietary fermentable carbohydrates and the availability of straw bedding potentially affect activity patterns and energy utilisation in pigs. The present study aimed to investigate the combined effects of straw bedding and fermentable carbohydrates (native potato starch) on energy partitioning in growing pigs. In a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement, 16 groups of 12 pigs (approximately 25 kg) were assigned to either barren housing or housing on straw bedding, and to native or pregelatinised potato starch included in the diet. Pigs were fed at approximately 2.5 times maintenance. Nitrogen and energy balances were measured per group during a 7-day experimental period, which was preceded by a 30-day adaptation period. Heat production and physical activity were measured during 9-min intervals. The availability of straw bedding increased both metabolisable energy (ME) intake and total heat production (P < 0.001). Housing conditions did not affect total energy retention, but pigs on straw bedding retained more energy as protein (P < 0.01) and less as fat (P < 0.05) than barren-housed pigs. Average daily gain (P < 0.001), ME intake (P < 0.001) and energy retention (P < 0.01) were lower in pigs on the native potato starch diet compared to those on the pregelatinised potato starch diet. Pigs on the pregelatinised potato starch diet showed larger fluctuations in heat production and respiration quotient over the 24-h cycle than pigs on the native potato starch diet, and a higher activity-related energy expenditure. The effect of dietary starch type on activity-related heat production depended, however, on housing type (P < 0.05). In barren housing, activity-related heat production was less affected by starch type (16.1% and 13.7% of total heat production on the pregelatinised and native potato starch diet, respectively) than in straw-enriched housing (21.1% and 15.0% of the total heat production on the pregelatinised and native potato starch diet, respectively). In conclusion, the present study shows that the availability both of straw bedding and of dietary starch type, fermentable or digestible, affects energy utilisation and physical activity of pigs. The effects of housing condition on protein and fat deposition suggest that environmental enrichment with long straw may result in leaner pigs. The lower energy expenditure on the physical activity of pigs on the native potato starch diet, which was the most obvious in straw-housed pigs, likely reflects a decrease in foraging behaviour related to a more gradual supply of energy from fermentation processes.  相似文献

Heat production by leukemia cells Molt 4, growing in suspensions with 1 and 3 x 10(5) cells/ml for 4 days, was studied by microcalorimetry. Heat production rates were related to cell growth, glucose consumption, lactate production and cellular ATP-content. The results show that the time course of heat dissipation is dependent on initial cell number. However, observed thermal power maxima were fairly identical in all experiments. Heat production rates per cell were similar during the initial phase of the study independently of initial cell number, while higher cell densities resulted in significantly lower rate of heat production. Glycolytic conversion of glucose into lactate is nearly stoichiometric. Our results indicate a relationship between heat production and amounts of glucose and lactate in the medium. ATP concentration in cells decreased after 24 hours of culture.  相似文献

1. Exposure of growing broiler chickens to elevated environmental temperature (35 degrees C) for two weeks, markedly reduced food intake (29%) and growth rate (37%) compared to birds maintained at 22 degrees C. 2. These changes in growth were accompanied by increased in vivo jejunal uptakes of galactose (36%) and methionine (50%) measured per unit intestinal dry weight. 3. Both the electrogenic (phloridzin sensitive) and non-electrogenic (phloridzin insensitive) components of galactose absorption were increased by 24 and 52% respectively during the chronic heat stress. 4. The size of the absorptive compartment may be reduced by the heat stress as reflected by decreased villus heights (19%) and wet (26%) and dry (31%) weights per unit length of jejunum. 5. It is suggested that the changes in hexose and amino acid during chronic exposure to elevated ambient temperature may reflect adaptations to optimise nutrient absorption in the face of reduced nutrition and decreases in the size of the absorptive compartment. A functional hypothyroidism (plasma luminal T3 decreased by 66%) associated with heat stress may contribute to the observed alterations in jejunal structure and function.  相似文献

 An investigation was carried out to verify whether the heat stress hyperthermia response of broilers is prostaglandin-dependent. Male broiler chickens of the Hubbard-Petterson strain, aged 35–49 days, were used. Chickens were injected with indomethacin (1 mg/kg intraperitoneally ) 15 min before or 2 h after heat exposure (at 35°C for 4 h), and rectal temperature was measured before injection and up to 4 h thereafter. Birds were separated into two groups with and without access to water during heat stress. The increase in rectal temperature was lower (P<0.05) in birds with access to drinking water during heat exposure. All birds injected with indomethacin exhibited an increase in rectal temperature, irrespective of whether indomethacin was administered before or in the course of the rise in temperature. The results revealed that the increase in rectal temperature during heat exposure is not prostaglandin-dependent, and that the use of cyclooxigenase inhibitors is not recommended to attenuate heat stress hyperthermia in broiler chickens. A trial was performed to examine the effects of levels of barley substitution and supplementation with β-glucanase in a corn-soybean diet on growth performance and intestinal characteristics of broiler chickens. The experiment involved five levels of barley substituted for corn (0, 125, 250, 500, and 1000 g/kg) and two levels of β-glucanase supplement (with 0.5 g/kg and without) in a factorial arrangement with two replicates. Four hundred day-old commercial strain Harber broiler chickens were randomly allocated into twenty groups of ten dietary treatments for a six-week feeding trial, growing (0-3 week) and finishing period (4-6 week). Unless supplemented with β-glucanase, broilers receiving the diet with more than 250 g/kg of the barley substitute gained slower during the growth period. Conversely, supplementing β-glucanase did not improve total weight gain (0-6 weeks) with a diet of 500 g/kg barley substitution. As the level of barley substitution increased, feed intake in the growing period decreased significantly and viscosity of the intestinal contents increased. However, such an increase did not significantly influence feed conversion (P > 0.05). Supplementation with β-glucanase on diet up to 250 g/kg of barley substitute not only enhanced body weight gains of growing broilers, but also improved the live-weight of six-week-old broilers (P < 0.05).  相似文献

Two slaughter experiments were carried out to determine whether the protein content of the diet has an influence upon the efficiency of utilization of ME in fast growing chickens. A normal‐protein diet (NPD, 204 g CP/kg DM; 14.7 MJ ME/kg DM) based on soybean meal as the sole source of protein was given at four different levels of intake (ad libitum or restricted at about 90, 65 and 40% ad lib) to 10‐d‐old animals for 2 weeks. In a parallel experiment the chickens were fed ad libitum a low protein diet (LPD, 66 g CP/kg DM; 15.0 MJ ME/kg DM) based on soybean meal. The intake of metabolizable energy ranged from 1675 to 777 and 1770 to 832 kJ/kgW0.75 per day for NPD and LPD treatments, respectively. Mean values of energy retention, gross efficiency of energy utilization and energy retained as protein were significantly (P<. 05) lower and heat production (expressed as both kJ/kgW0.75 per day and kJ/kg body protein content0.75 per day) was significantly higher (P < .05) for the chickens fed on LPD. These findings support the concept of dietary‐induced thermogenesis in response to reductions in dietary protein concentration. It is concluded that the increased heat production found in the birds fed on the low‐protein diet can be explained by both an increase in energy requirements for maintenance (MEm) and a sharp decrease in the efficiency of utilization of ME for growth (k8).  相似文献
