The length‐weight (LWR) and length‐length relationships (LLR) were estimated for three endemic fish species, including Schizothorax waltoni Regan, 1905, Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, and Schizothorax macropogon Regan, 1905 in the Yarlung Tsangpo River. A total of 399 specimens were collected using gillnets and cast nets during February to August 2012 and March to May 2013. No information regarding length–weight and length–length relationships was reported previously in FishBase for these three endemic species.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships and length–length were evaluated for three fish species (Schizopygopsis younghusbandi Regan, 1905; Ptychobarbus dipogon Regan, 1905 and Oxygymnocypris stewartii Lloyd, 1908) from the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet. Specimens were captured monthly using floating gillnets (mesh size 7.5 cm), bottom gillnets (mesh size 6.5 cm), and trap nets (mesh size 1.5 mm) from August 2008 to August 2009, March to August 2012, and March to April 2013. Regression coefficient (b) values of length–weight relationships (LWRs) ranged from 3.045 for P. dipogon to 3.193 for O. stewartii, whereas the a values ranged from 0.0040 to 0.0168 for O. stewartii and P. dipogon, respectively.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships were determined for three fish species [Tachysurus argentivittatus (Regan, 1905); Rhodeus spinalis Oshima, 1926; Liniparhomaloptera disparis (Lin, 1934)]. All fish sample were collected using gillnets (15 × 5 m, mesh‐size 5 mm) from Moyangjiang River, China. Samples were collected quarterly from July 2006 to August 2007. The parameter b of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.52 for Rhodeus spinalis to 3.27 forLiniparhomaloptera disparis.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three fish species: Gymnodiptychus pachycheilus (Herzenstein, 1892), Discogobio yunnanensis (Regan, 1907), and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012). Samples were collected from the Yalong River, southwestern China using fishing gear (gillnets, 30 × 15 m, mesh‐size 5 mm) and electroshock fishing (CWB‐2000 P, 12 V, 250 HZ) in June 2007. Prior to this study, length–weight relationships for these three species were unknown. For two of the species [Discogobio yunnanensis (Regan, 1907) and Triplophysa pseudostenura (He, Zhang & Song, 2012)], new maximum standard lengths not yet reported in the scientific literature were noted.  相似文献

The focus was on the length–weight relationships of three schizothoracinae species endemic to Tibet, including Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, Ptychobarbus dipogon (Regan, 1905) and Schizopygopsis younghusbandi Regan, 1905, all of which are characterized by slow growth, late maturation and vulnerability to the environment (Ma et al., 2010, 2012; Duan et al., 2014). Among them, Schizothorax oconnori is an endangered fish and listed in the China species Red List (Wang and Xie, 2004, 2009). Samples were obtained by drift net fishing (mesh size 2 cm × 3 cm; 50 m net length) in November 2008. The r2 value was 0.94, 0.97, 0.98 and the b value 3.51, 3.12, 3.16, representing Schizothorax oconnori, Ptychobarbus dipogon, and Schizopygopsis younghusbandi, respectively.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships were determined for three fish species (Acanthopagrus latus Houttuyn, 1782; Acentrogobius caninus Valenciennes, 1837; and Nematalosa japonica Regan, 1917). Samples were collected from the East China Sea (N 27.306020, E 120.918026), from May to July in 2015–2016. Samples were collected using commercial trawls (5 cm main trawl and 3 cm codend mesh). The objective of this study was to estimate a prey body size from the hard parts (e.g. otoliths) of a fish species frequently found in the guts of predators. Length–weight relationships between otolith size (length, height, weight and aspect ratio) and fish size (total length and weight) were determined for four fish species captured in the Arabian Sea by bottom trawl (2015 survey on‐board FORV Sagar Sampada, 200–300 m depth), off the west coast of India: Psenopsis cyanea, Pterygotrigla hemisticta, Bembrops caudimacula and Hoplostethus rubellopterus. No significant differences were noted between the size of the left and right otoliths (t test) in any of the four species. The length–weight relationship of the otolith in all four species showed a negative allometric growth pattern (t test, p < .05). The data fitted well to the regression model for otolith length (OL), otolith height (OH) and otolith weight (OW) to total length (TL) and total weight (TW). Results showed that these relationships are a helpful tool in predicting fish size from the otoliths and in calculating the biomass of these less‐studied fish species during feeding studies and palaentology.  相似文献

This paper provides length–weight relationships estimated for five fish species (four families) economically important not only to the local community, but to the larger Indo‐Pakistan sub‐continent. All fish were collected from the Manora Channel and backwater creeks near Karachi, Pakistan in the northern Arabian Sea during July 2000 to October 2002. These represent the first reports of length–weight data for two species (Sardinella sindensis and Pomadasys stridens) while also providing additional data on the remaining three species (Alepes kleinii, A. melanoptera, and Liza carinata) for which limited information was available. Estimated b values obtained for the six species ranged from a minimum of 2.310 for L. carinata to a maximum of 3.082 for S. sindensis.  相似文献

Estimated length–weight relationships are presented for 11 marine fish species representing six families, found above the continental shelf and in the pelagial of the Okhotsk Sea. A total of 13,841 specimens were caught by trawls that were equipped with a 1.0 by 1.2 cm mesh webbing inset. The period between 1974 and 2015 comprised mostly spring and autumn months. All length–weight relationships were highly significant (r2 ≥ .95) on a log scale. None of the species had previous length–weight estimates, and two species had no previous length–length estimates in the FishBase.  相似文献

In this study, length‐length relationships (LLRs) and weight‐length relationships (WLRs) were established for a Carangidae species: Uraspis helvola and tow Flatfishes: Pseudorhombus elevatus and Psettodes erumei that are substantial marine fish species to commercial fisheries in Persian Gulf that are indigenous marine fish species in the region. Samples were collected by non‐selective fish bottom trawler with stretch mesh size of 4 centimeters at the cod‐end area, which helped us to obtain such a broad range size that included small, medium and large size classes during June to August 2017. Hitherto, the length‐weight model presented in this study for Pseudorhombus elevatus and Uraspis helvola were not documented on Fishbase. Additionally, new records of maximum length are presented as 64.5 and 30 centimeters for P. erumei and P. elevatus respectively. A comprehensive size distribution and highly significant fitted model (r2>0.95) in this research provides useful insight for future studies on fish biology, fisheries assessment and ecological modeling.  相似文献

The length‐weight relationships were determined for eight fish species [Zebrias zebra (Bloch, 1787); Zebrias quagga (Kaup, 1858); Amblyotrypauchen arctocephalus (Alcock, 1890); Gerres japonicus Bleeker, 1854; Apogonichthyoides pseudotaeniatus (Gon, 1986); Setipinna tenuifilis (Valenciennes, 1848); Bregmaceros rarisquamosus Munro, 1950; Bregmaceros nectabanus Whitley, 1941] belonging to six families. Fish samples were collected using gillnets (20 × 10 m, mesh size 0.5 cm) and cage net (200 × 10 × 15 cm, mesh size 0.5 cm) from mangroves of Guangdong, China. Samples were collected quarterly from June 2015 to March 2017.The allometric coefficient (b) of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.76 for Zebrias zebra to 3.38 for Setipinna tenuifilis. The relations between total length and weight were evaluated for six fish species from the lower reaches of the YarlungZangbo River, southwest China, including Schizothorax molesworthi (Chaudhuri, 1913); Psilorhynchus homaloptera Hora & Mukerji, 1935; Creteuchiloglanis kamengensis (Jayaram, 1966); Parachiloglanis hodgarti (Hora, 1923); Glaridoglanis andersonii (Day, 1870); Pseudecheneis sulcate (McClelland, 1842). All fish were collected from March to May, October and November 2017 using electro fishing and gill net. The relationships between total length and weight were significant (all r2 > .955, p < .01). And the values of exponent b, estimated using simple linear least squares of log‐transformed weight and length data, ranged from 2.687 to 3.147.  相似文献

This study reports the length–weight relationship (LWR) and length‐length relationship (LLR) estimated for four fish species inhabiting in Chilika Lake, India. Total 504 specimens were sampled from mono‐filament gill nets (mesh size 12 mm, 22–24 mm, 34–38 mm, 42 mm) during January 2015 to December 2015. The estimated b values from LWR ranged between 2.79 (T. biaculeatus) to 3.29 (C. praeustus). In all species, the relationships between length‐weight and length‐length were highly correlated (p < .05). The study provides first world reports on LWRs and LLRs for all the 4 studied species.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for four species are presented, captured in the Dogxung Zangbo River, a main tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Tibet, China. Fish were captured in summer and autumn between May 2006 and September 2017 with three fyke nets from six sites.The results of LWRs for Schizothorax oconnori Lloyd, 1908, Schizopygopsis stoliczkai Steindachner, 1866, Triplophysa orientalis (Herzenstein, 1888), and Glyptosternon maculatum (Regan, 1905) provide basic data useful in fisheries science. They can assist in converting length data in to weight and biomass in cases where weight can not be taken during field studies. If regularly taken in an annual monitoring programm together with other parameters, using a standardized sampling procedure, they can also helpful in stock assessment of fish species in the Dogxung Zangbo River and the upper reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River basin.  相似文献

The parameters ‘a’ and ‘b’ of length weight relationship of 6 species (Scolopsis vosmeri (Bloch, 1792), Engyprosopon macrolepis (Regan, 1908), Bleekeria murtii Joshi, Zacharia&Kanthan, 2012), Centriscus scutatus Linnaeus, 1758, Samaris cristatus Gray, 1831 and Iniistius bimaculatus Ruppell, 1829) are reported from the Gulf of Mannar, South east coast of India. The fish samples were collected from experimental trawling conducted twice a month during the period August to December 2012 and September to December 2013 at a depth ranging from 8.5 to 20.5 m. Three hauls were made in a day with each haul of one hour duration. The total length of the gear was 32 m with a cod end mesh size of 30 mm. The total length of the fish was measured to the nearest 0.1 cm and weight to the nearest 0.1 g.  相似文献

Length‐weight and length‐length relationships were investigated for 13 freshwater fish species from the lower Jinsha River, southwest China (from 101°32′49.63″E; 26°35′38.27″N to 104°37′48.14″E; 28°45′59.55″N). Fish were sampled from five sites during 2014 and 2016, using trap‐nets, gillnets (major mesh size: 2–6 cm), longline and electrofishing. Length‐weight relationships for six and length‐length relationships for 12 species are the first report to FishBase, respectively. Moreover, new maximum length for 11 species are also presented to FishBase in this study. All regressions were highly significant (< .001), with the coefficient of determination r> .950. These information will be helpful for management and conservation in local fishes and fisheries.  相似文献

Presented are the relationship between standard length (SL) and weight (W) for 12 fish species in Tibet, China, representing three families and six genera from the Lhasa River. All fish samples were collected by either electro‐shocker (12 V, 200 Hz), fish cages (mouth opening: 40 × 40 cm2, 5 m), or drift gillnets (3 × 1.5 m; mesh‐size: 3 cm to 8 cm) from different areas in the Lhasa River Basin, August and September 2015. Parameter b ranged from 2.88 to 3.29, and all correlation coefficient (r2) values were higher than 0.95. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three of the species as well as one maximum length are first reports for FishBase.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for two endemic fish species from the Maquan River, the upper of the Yarlung Zangbo River: (Ptychobarbus dipogon Regan, 1905, Schizothorax waltoni Regan, 1905). All the specimens were collected between May and September of 2014. Length–weight relationships for these two fish species were determined for the first time, and new maximum body weights were recorded for these two species. Samples were collected from 2002 to 2010 by cage net (50 × 15 × 15 cm, mesh size 0.5 cm) from Zhanjiang mangrove in China (20°36′N; 110°54′E). The total length ranged is between 2.3 and 18.1 cm and weighted between 0.3 and 90.2 g. The allometric coefficient (b) of length‐weight relationship varied from 2.72 for Zenarchopterus buffonis to 3.48 for Acentrogobius viridipunctatus. Specimens were collected from the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, southwest China during November 2010 to December 2015. Fish were sampled by various types of fishing gear (mesh size: 1–12 cm) and baited hooks.
