Length of baseline training influences how methamphetamine disrupts temporal performance under a peak interval schedule. Acute methamphetamine produces overestimation of time following relatively brief training, but following extended training, methamphetamine produces more general loss of stimulus control. The current study extends the study of training length on the effects of methamphetamine to an interval-bisection procedure. Six pigeons responded under a psychophysical choice procedure in which responses to one key color were correct after presentation of four shorter sample durations and responses to another key color were correct after presentation of four longer sample durations. One group of three pigeons received briefer baseline training (45 sessions), while another group received more extended training (223 sessions) prior to methamphetamine administration. There was no evidence of overestimation of time or generalized loss of stimulus control in either group. Sensitivity (precision of timing) was higher in the group with more extensive training and was disrupted by methamphetamine.  相似文献

When basketball players play against each other in a game, better coordinated balance can give them a better advantage. This paper briefly introduces the coordination balance and core strength of basketball players. Twenty basketball varsity members were selected from Chengdu College of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as subjects for the test. The athletes were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group. The control group received regular strength training, and the experimental group received core strength training in addition to regular training. Both groups underwent isometric muscle strength test, coordination and balance test and shooting percentage test before and after training. The results demonstrated that muscle group strength increased in the control group after conventional training, but the experimental group showed more significant improvement in muscle group strength after additional core strength training; the experimental group had better coordination and balance ability after core strength training; the experimental group had a significantly higher shooting percentage after core strength training due to the improvement of coordination and balance ability.  相似文献

Resisted movement training is that in which the sports movement is performed with added resistance. To date, the effectiveness on enhancing sprint speed or vertical jump height had not been reviewed. The objectives of this review were to collate information on resisted training studies for sprinting and vertical jumping, ascertain whether resisted movement training was superior to normal unresisted movement training, and identify areas for future research. The review was based on peer-reviewed journal articles identified from electronic literature searches using MEDLINE and SPORTDiscus data bases from 1970 to 2010. Resisted sprint training was found to increase sprint speed but, in most cases, was no more effective than normal sprint training. There was some evidence that resisted sprint training was superior in increasing speed in the initial acceleration phase of sprinting. Resisted jump training in the form of weighted jump squats was shown to increase vertical jump height, but it was no more effective than plyometric depth jump training. Direct comparisons between resisted jump training and unresisted normal jump training were limited, but loaded eccentric countermovement jump squat training with unloaded concentric phase and eccentric landing was shown to generate superior results for elite jumpers. More prospective studies on resisted sprint training are required along with monitoring both kinematic and kinetic adaptations to fully determine any underlying mechanisms for any improvements in sprint speed. Based on the available data, the benefits and superiority of resisted sprint training have not been fully established. As for resisted jump training, although there are some promising findings, these results need to be duplicated by other researchers before resisted jump training can be claimed to be more effective than other forms of jump training.  相似文献

Epidemiological studies in large cohorts support the notion that physical fitness is associated with reduced cardiovascular mortality and hospitalization due to cardiovascular disease. During the last 20 years even the concept of resting inactive after a myocardial infarction has dramatically changed and nowadays patients are mobilized and included into exercise training programs very shortly after the insult. Unfortunately, these beneficial effects of exercise training are independent of the genetic background and are only observed in case the training program is not paused for a longer time. Therefore, to take advantage of the effects of exercise training in health care the challenge for the future is to increase exercise compliance by offering interesting and effective exercise training programs. At the physiological and molecular level, exercise training affects several organs like the vascular system and the skeletal muscle. Changes elicited by regular exercise training range in the vascular system from increasing vasodilation due to an elevation of bioavailable nitric oxide to a shift in the catabolic/anabolic balance in the peripheral skeletal muscle. In this review we discuss the healthy benefit of exercise training and the molecular changes triggered by exercise training in the setting of secondary prevention.  相似文献

It is well known that muscle strength and power are important factors in exercise. Plyometrics is designed to gain muscle strength and power in a shock method. The passive repetitive isokinetic (PRI) machine is developed for plyometrics. The present study aims to understand the effect of ten-week PRI training in different intensities on human plasma concentration cytokines as well as hormonal changes. Thirty young male subjects were enrolled into the ten-week PRI training program and were divided randomly into traditional, low- and high-intensity PRI training groups. Blood samples were obtained before, during, after and 1-, 2-, 3-, 5- and 7-day (D) post-training. The plasma concentrations of cytokines and hormones were measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Elevated plasma IL-2 was found in the subjects in all the training programs. Significant increases of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1beta and TNF-alpha were observed at post 7 D in the high-intensity PRI training (29.5 +/- 4.4 and 515.8 +/- 127.1 pg/ml, respectively). No significance in differences in the plasma concentration of IL-6 was observed in the traditional and low-intensity PRI training. Significant elevation of IL-6 was found at post 5 D in high-intensity PRI training. Higher plasma IL-6 concentration was observed at post 3 and 5 D in high-intensity PRI training compared to low-intensity PRI training (P < 0.05). Significant elevation of plasma IL-15 during (week 6) and after (post 0 D) was observed in low-intensity PRI training. Also, there were differences between low-intensity PRI training and traditional training at post 0, 2, 3, and 5 D. The plasma concentration of cortisol was decreased to the lowest value (118.0 +/- 17.3 ng/ml) at post 0 D in traditional training, then returned to the baseline (220.5 +/- 19.1 ng/ml). In the high-intensity PRI training, but not in the low-intensity PRI training, the cortisol level dropped from 224.9 +/- 25.8 ng/ml at post 0 D down to the 123.2 +/- 22.6 ng/ml at post 1 D. Significant differences were found at post 1 and 5 D between low- and high-intensity PRI training, and post 0, 1, 2, and 3 D between traditional and high-intensity PRI training. Significant increased testosterone was found post 0, 1, 2, and 3 D in traditional training. Higher plasma testosterone was observed during and the recovery period in low-intensity, but not in high-intensity, PRI training. In conclusion, high-intensity PRI training could induce the proinflammatory cytokines, i.e., IL-1beta and TNF-alpha, and decrease plasma cortisol in the recovery period.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were differences in vertical jump height and lower body power production gains between complex and compound training programs. A secondary purpose was to determine whether differences in gains were observed at a faster rate between complex and compound training programs. Thirty-one college-aged club volleyball players (11 men and 20 women) were assigned into either a complex training group or a compound training group based on gender and pre-training performance measures. Both groups trained twice per week for 4 weeks. Work was equated between the 2 groups. Complex training alternated between resistance and plyometric exercises on each training day; whereas, compound training consisted of resistance training on one day and plyometric training on the other. Our analyses showed significant improvements in vertical jump height in both training groups after only 3 weeks of training (P < 0.0001); vertical jump height increased by approximately 5% and 9% in the complex and compound training groups, respectively. However, neither group improved significantly better than the other, nor did either group experience faster gains in vertical leap or power output. The results of this study suggest that performing a minimum of 3 weeks of either complex or compound training is effective for improving vertical jump height and power output; thus, coaches should choose the program which best suits their training schedules.  相似文献

The effects of chronic endurance training and acute exercise on glucocorticoid receptors were investigated in rats. For chronic endurance training, rats were exposed to progressive running training on a motor-driven treadmill for 3, 5 and 7 weeks, twice a day and 6 days a week. The samples were taken, 34-36 hours after the last exercise bout. Some of the 7-week training rats were killed by decapitation 7 days following the last exercise bout. The glucocorticoid receptors in hepatic cytosol in 5-week and 7-week rats decreased as compared to the sedentary control. There was no significant difference between the glucocorticoid receptors in hepatic cytosol in some of the 7-week rats those who had stopped training for 7 days and those in the controls. The chronic endurance training did not lead to change of the apparent dissociation constant (Kd). The changes of glucocorticoid receptors after acute exercise have also been investigated and it showed profound decreases of glucocorticoid receptors in renal and myocardial cytosol in low intensity (swimming without an extra weight for 60 minutes) and high intensity (swimming with a weight equal to 6% of body mass for 60 minutes) training groups. The decreases in glucocorticoid receptors in renal and myocardial cytosol were less prominent after low intensity training. These results demonstrated that both acute exercise training and chronic endurance training could lead to a decrease in glucocorticoid receptors, which was in a training intensity- and training load volume-dependent manner, and the changes in glucocorticoid receptors during exercise training were reversible.  相似文献

The effects of endurance training and acute exhaustive exercise on plasma levels of three superoxidedismutase (SOD) isoenzymes and the ability of superoxide generation in neutrophils were studied. Eighteen healthy male students, aged 17-22 years, who volunteered for this study, underwent three months of endurance training in swimming or running. Before and after the training course, they performed acute exercise and blood samples were collected before and after this exercise. The endurance training significantly increased maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) in all subjects. Neither the endurance training nor the acute exercise affected the plasma CuZn-SOD level. Acute exercise after the training, but not before the training, increased both the plasma Mn-SOD and extracellular SOD (EC-SOD) levels by 33.6 and 33.5%, respectively. The training decreased the EC-SOD level at rest by 22.2%. Acute exercise after the training, but not before the training, increased the plasma lipid peroxide level, suggesting higher oxidative stress in trained subjects during exhaustive exercise. The ability of neutrophils to generate superoxide was increased by the acute exercise, but induction of the superoxide was suppressed after training. These results indicate that EC-SOD levels were changed in a different manner from the CuZn-SOD and Mn-SOD: it was decreased by training but was increased by acute exercise, suggesting that endurance training increases the reserve of EC-SOD in tissues. The results also suggest the possibility of plasma EC-SOD assay as a new index of endurance training.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of a combination of simultaneous strength and endurance training on selected neuromuscular and aerobic performance characteristics seven male cross-country skiers underwent training for a period of 6 weeks. The experimental group trained 6-9 times per week with a programme consisting of 34% explosive type strength training and 66% endurance training during the first 3 weeks of the experiment and 42% and 58% respectively during the last 3 weeks of the experiment. The total volume of training of the control group (eight skiers) was of the same magnitude but consisted of 85% pure endurance training and 15% endurance type strength training. The experimental training regime resulted in specific changes in neuromuscular performance. This was demonstrated by improvements (P less than 0.01) in the maximal heights of rise of the centre of gravity in the squat and countermovement jumps. A significant decrease (P less than 0.05) took place also in the time of rapid isometric force production during experimental training, while no changes occurred in the maximal force of the trained muscles. Aerobic performance characteristics of the experimental group did not change during the experimental training period. No significant changes occurred in neuromuscular or aerobic performance characteristics in the control group. These findings indicated that training-induced improvements in explosive force production may not be fully inhibited by this kind of aerobic training. They also suggested that endurance athletes could undertake explosive type strength training programmes without a concomitant reduction in aerobic capacity, if the overall loading of training were within predefined limits.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES--To examine the content of hospital obstetric vocational training for general practice, the beliefs of general practitioner trainees about this training, and their perceived competence at practical obstetric procedures and the effect of training. DESIGN--Confidential postal questionnaire. SUBJECTS--A random one in four sample of all general practitioner trainees in the United Kingdom on vocational training schemes or in training practices in Autumn 1990. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES--Trainees'' competence and beliefs on Likert scale, numbers of procedures witnessed and performed, type of maternity care trainees intended to provide. RESULTS--Of 1019 trainees sent questionnaires, 765 (75.1%) replied; 517 had done some hospital obstetric training. After six months as a senior house officer 232/367 (63%) believed they were competent to perform a normal delivery unaided, 228 (62%) to manage a severe postpartum haemorrhage, and 227 (62%) to resuscitate a newborn infant. 272 (35.6%) trainees intended to provide intrapartum care and 56 (7.5%) to book home deliveries in the future. Hospital training increased confidence in performing most obstetric procedures in all trainees. However, a greater proportion of trainees who intended to provide full care than shared care felt competent at performing a normal vaginal delivery (63% (170/272) full v 45% (215/473) shared), low forceps delivery (38% (103) v 17% (79)), manual removal of placenta (24% (65) v 17% (82)), and intubating a neonate (42% (114) v 34% (161)). Trainees who had done any obstetric training were less likely to think that training encouraged future provision of intrapartum care (113/509 (22%) training v 65/213 (31%) no training). CONCLUSION--Hospital vocational obstetric training increases the perceived competence of trainees but fails to encourage them to use obstetric skills.  相似文献

Soldiers are often required to carry heavy loads during military operations. This article reports on a systematic literature review examining the influence of physical training on load carriage performance. Several literature databases, reference lists, and other sources were explored to find studies that quantitatively examined the effects of physical training on the time taken for individuals to complete a set distance carrying an external load, with the majority of the load contained in a backpack. Effect sizes (Cohen's d statistic) were used in meta-analyses to examine the changes in load carriage performance after various modes of physical training. Effect sizes quantified training-related changes in terms of SD units. Ten original research studies met the review criteria. Meta-analysis indicated that large training effects (≥0.8SD units) were apparent when progressive resistance training was combined with aerobic training and when that training was conducted at least 3 times per week, over at least 4 weeks. When progressive load-carriage exercise was part of the training program, much larger training effects were evident (summary effect size [SES] = 1.7SD units). Field-based training that combined a wide variety of training modes and included progressive load-carriage exercise was also very effective in improving load carriage performance (SES = 1.1SD units). Aerobic training alone or resistance training alone had smaller and more variable effects, depending on the study. This review indicates that combinations of specific modes of physical training can substantially improve load carriage performance.  相似文献

A recent study has shown that short-term training in response inhibition can make people more cautious for up to two hours when making decisions. However, the longevity of such training effects is unclear. In this study we tested whether training in the stop-signal paradigm reduces risky gambling when the training and gambling task are separated by 24 hours. Two independent experiments revealed that the aftereffects of stop-signal training are negligible after 24 hours. This was supported by Bayes factors that provided strong support for the null hypothesis. These findings indicate the need to better optimise the parameters of inhibition training to achieve clinical efficacy, potentially by strengthening automatic associations between specific stimuli and stopping.  相似文献

The influence of increased training on the sympathoadrenergic system was investigated. Moderately trained male subjects (n = 15) increased their training within 10 wk by 60%; eight of the subjects increased their training volume, and seven increased their training intensity. Before and after the training, an exhaustive treadmill exercise was carried out. Acute treadmill exercise increased beta-adrenergic receptor number on mononuclear lymphocytes, isoproternol-stimulated cAMP production, and plasma catecholamine concentration. The increase of receptor number can at least partially be explained by a changed lymphocyte composition at rest and after exercise. After training, the exercise-induced increase of beta-adrenergic receptor number was significantly blunted, and the exercise-induced increase of the isoproternol-stimulated cAMP production per beta-receptor was enhanced. Subjects who experienced increased symptoms of physical discomfort and/or mood changes showed an enhanced cAMP production after training. These findings point to an altered regulation of the receptor and postreceptor mechanisms as an effect of a 10-wk period of hard training.  相似文献

Little research has evaluated the effects of drag suit training in swimming; these effects need to be explored further to optimize their use in training. For this 5-week training study, 18 subjects were divided evenly into 2 groups: control group and drag suit-trained group. Both groups performed weekly training routines that included 3 sprint sets. These sprint sets were performed by both the groups; however, the drag suit training group wore the drag suit, and the control group wore their typical training attire. We evaluated the swimmers' 50-m performance using a test set of six 50-m sprints on a 10-minute interval before and after the training program. The test set was performed twice (on 2 different days) where the swimmers were tested once in the drag suit and once in their regular training attire; the order of testing was randomized. Final time, stroke rate, and distance per stroke were collected. We observed that the drag suit-trained group exhibited a statistically significant decrease in distance per stoke while wearing the drag suit and the control group showed a significant increase in stroke rate and decrease in distance per stroke (in both suits). It is suggested to include some amounts of drag suit training in periods where swimming volume may decrease. Sets that are short in distance and performed at high intensity with sufficient rest to allow swimmers to maintain high stroke integrity should help athletes maintain techniques. We suggest incorporating the drag suit into the training regimen and should be considered a valuable resistive training device for swimming.  相似文献

Haematological changes were studied in cross-country skiers during a 33-week training season (7 h a week). The daily amounts of training were calculated from the duration and the intensity of the exercise and then used to estimate training responses associated with a first order transfer function. The profile of system training responses (STR) was determined by convolution between the amounts of training and a first-order transfer function. Linear regressions were used to determine correlation coefficients between STR and iron status indices. Among the values for the time constants of decay, the one giving the best fit between STR and iron status indices was chosen. A relationship was noted between on the one hand STR and changes in serum ferritin concentration ([FERR]) and on the other hand STR and change in mean cell volume (MCV). The [FERR] was decreased and MCV was increased by training. It is suggested that a decrease in [FERR] could have been related to a decrease in total body iron stores. However, large and rapid changes in [FERR] could not have been a reflection of changes in total body iron stores. Equilibrium between [FERR] and total body iron stores could have been temporarily altered by the effects of training. Moreover, iron stores did not seem to have been sufficiently depleted to restrict erythropoiesis. The MCV increased slightly in response to intense training suggesting that training enhances the proportion of young erythrocytes.  相似文献

Resisted jumping devices and resisted plyometric training have become more common in recent years. The effectiveness of such training has yet to be determined among high school athletes. Sixty-four high school athletes (50 boys and 14 girls) from a variety of sports were divided into 2 groups and participated in a training intervention that differed only by the use of the VertiMax jump trainer in 1 group. Lower-body power was tested before and after the intervention and compared statistically for differences between the groups. Athletes from both groups followed a periodized training program with resistance exercises performed 2 or 3 days per week, and sprint and plyometric training (i.e., training control group) or sprint, plyometric, and VertiMax training (i.e., VertiMax group) 1 or 2 days per week, for 12 total weeks. In addition to the traditional compound lower-body lifts and equated sprint work, the VertiMax group performed supplementary exercises on the VertiMax training apparatus. The average improvement in power observed in the training control group was 49.50 +/- 97.83 W, and the increase in power in the VertiMax group was 217.14 +/- 99.21 W. The differences in power after the test and improvements in power with training were found to differ between the groups (P < 0.05) and favored the VertiMax training group. Combined with previous research with college athletes, these data show the added effectiveness of resisted jump training on the VertiMax among athletes for the development of lower-body power.  相似文献

The effect of training with a combination of different loads (multiple-load training) on the force-velocity and force-power relationships was examined with training programs that included maximal isometric contraction (Fmax) and concentric contraction of the elbow flexor muscles. Twenty-one male college students were placed into 3 equal training groups (G(30 + 60), G(30 + 100), and G(30 + 60 + 100)) and performed multiple-load training 3 days per week for 8 weeks. The training load was a set fraction of the maximal isometric strength (% Fmax). The G(30 + 60) group performed 6 repetitions of elbow flexion at 30 and 60% Fmax. The G(30 + 100) group performed 6 repetitions at 30% Fmax and six 5-second Fmax loads. The G(30 + 60 + 100) group performed 4 repetitions at 30 and 60% Fmax and four 5-second Fmax loads. After training, Fmax and maximal velocity significantly increased (p < 0.05) in all 3 training groups. The increases in maximal power were significantly (p < 0.05) different between the G(30 + 60 + 100) group (52.9%) and the G(30 + 100) group (24.2%). These results suggest that multiple-load training programs with 4-6 repetitions are effective for improving muscle power and velocity of the elbow flexors.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of an increase in training frequency on exercise-induced fatigue by using a systems model with parameters free to vary over time. Six previously untrained subjects undertook a 15-wk training experiment composed of 1) an 8-wk training period with three sessions per week (low-frequency training), 2) 1 wk without training, 3) a 4-wk training period with five sessions per week [high frequency training (HFT)], and 4) 2 wk without training. The systems input ascribed to training loads was computed from interval exercises and expressed in arbitrary units. The systems output ascribed to performance was evaluated three times each week using maximal power sustained over 5 min. The time-varying parameters of the model were estimated by fitting modeled performances to the measured ones using a recursive least squares method. The variations over time in the model parameters showed an increase in magnitude and duration of fatigue induced by a single training bout. The time needed to recover performance after a training session increased from 0.9 +/- 2.1 days at the end of low-frequency training to 3.6 +/- 2.0 days at the end of HFT. The maximal gain in performance for a given training load decreased during HFT. This study showed that shortening recovery time between training sessions progressively yielded a more persistent fatigue induced by each training.  相似文献
