Group communications (multicast) are foreseen to be one of the most critical yet challenging technologies to meet the exponentially growing demands for data distribution in a large variety of applications of the Internet (such as grid computing, web applications and distributed simulations). When reliability is required, there is no straightforward solutions and meeting the objectives of reliable multicast is not an easy task. Active networks open a new perspective in providing more efficient solutions for the problem of reliability. In this context, routers are able to perform customized computations on the packets flowing through them. In this paper, we propose a receiver-based (replier) local recovery multicast protocol with dynamic repliers elected on a per-packet basis. Designed to provide an efficient reliable multicast service without any cache facilities inside the network, our approach, uses low-overhead active services in routers. The current paper addresses the design, evaluation and the implementation of an efficient and scalable reliable multicast protocol noted DyRAM standing for Dynamic Replier Active reliable multicast.  相似文献

Transmitting electronic medical records (EMR) and other communication in modern Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare ecosystem is both delay and integrity-sensitive. Transmitting and computing volumes of EMR data on traditional clouds away from healthcare facilities is a main source of trust-deficit using IoT-enabled applications. Reliable IoT-enabled healthcare (IoTH) applications demand careful deployment of computing and communication infrastructure (CnCI). This paper presents a FOG-assisted CnCI model for reliable healthcare facilities. Planning a secure and reliable CnCI for IoTH networks is a challenging optimization task. We proposed a novel mathematical model (i.e., integer programming) to plan FOG-assisted CnCI for IoTH networks. It considers wireless link interfacing gateways as a virtual machine (VM). An IoTH network contains three wirelessly communicating nodes: VMs, reduced computing power gateways (RCPG), and full computing power gateways (FCPG). The objective is to minimize the weighted sum of infrastructure and operational costs of the IoTH network planning. Swarm intelligence-based evolutionary approach is used to solve IoTH networks planning for superior quality solutions in a reasonable time. The discrete fireworks algorithm with three local search methods (DFWA-3-LSM) outperformed other experimented algorithms in terms of average planning cost for all experimented problem instances. The DFWA-3-LSM lowered the average planning cost by 17.31%, 17.23%, and 18.28% when compared against discrete artificial bee colony with 3 LSM (DABC-3-LSM), low-complexity biogeography-based optimization (LC-BBO), and genetic algorithm, respectively. Statistical analysis demonstrates that the performance of DFWA-3-LSM is better than other experimented algorithms. The proposed mathematical model is envisioned for secure, reliable and cost-effective EMR data manipulation and other communication in healthcare.

The expression of lanosterol 14alpha-demethylase (LDM) in the mouse ovary after gonadotrophin administration was examined and the action of follicle fluid meiosis activating sterol (FF-MAS), derived from lanosterol by the action of LDM, on oocyte spontaneous maturation was also evaluated in cumulus cell enclosed oocytes (CEOs). Expression of LDM was primarily in oocytes in primordial and secondary follicles prior to administration of gonadotrophins, but obvious LDM expression was apparent in ovarian somatic cells 48 h after administration of equine chorionic gonadotrophin (eCG), especially in luteal and cumulus cells 54 h after eCG or 48 h after eCG plus 6 h after human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). The LDM expression in oocytes was only slightly elevated in larger growing follicles after eCG treatment. On the contrary, 48 h after hCG treatment, the elevated expression of LDM was only detected in interstitial cells. Therefore, eCG may be the primary gonadotrophin for LDM expression, and furthermore for production of FF-MAS in mouse cumulus cells (which are indispensable for oocyte maturation in vivo). Conversely, inhibitors of LDM, either 40 microM azalanstat or 50 microM RS-21745, significantly inhibited oocyte germinal vesicle breakdown (GVB) after 4h of in vitro culture; GVB rates decreased to 14 or 20%, compared to 90% in spontaneous maturation, respectively. There was no significant increase in GVB in CEOs following specific inhibitor of sterol Delta14-reductase and Delta7-reductase, AY9944-A-7 (5-100 microM), until marked oocytes degeneration appeared (50 microM). The phenomena may be ascribed to slow, passive accumulation of FF-MAS by AY9944-A-7, which cannot be associated with fast spontaneous progression. Furthermore, in spontaneous-matured CEOs, LDM was expressed preferentially in cumulus cells instead of oocytes. Therefore, FF-MAS may have a positive role in the spontaneous maturation of CEOs. In conclusion, there was an eCG-dependent dual LDM expression pattern on both oocytes and somatic cells in growing follicles in vivo, which may increase LDM expression and FF-MAS production in cumulus cells for oocyte maturation. For the first time, the inhibitory effect of LDM inhibitors on spontaneous maturation, together with the strong LDM expression in spontaneous matured CEOs, indicated that FF-MAS produced by cumulus cells might participate in spontaneous maturation of mouse CEOs.  相似文献

There have been 3 columns talking about broadband communications and now at the very end when it's time to compare using a telco or cableco, I'm asking does it really matter? So what if I can actually get the whole 30 Mbps with a cable network when the website I'm connecting to is running on an ISDN line at 128 Kbps? Broadband offers a lot more bandwidth than the connections many Internet servers have today. Except for the biggest websites, many servers connect to the Internet with a switched 56-Kbps, ISDN, or fractional T1 line. Even with the big websites, my home network only runs a 10 Mbps Ethernet connection to my cable modem. Maybe it doesn't matter that the cable lines are shared or that I can only get 8 Mbps from an ADSL line. Maybe the ISP that I use has a T1 line connection to the Internet so my new ADSL modem has a fatter pipe than my provider! (See table 1). It all makes me wonder what's in store for us in the future. PC technology has increased exponentially in the last 10 years with super fast processor speeds, hard disks of hundreds of gigabytes, and amazing video and audio. Internet connection speeds have failed to keep the same pace. Instead of hundreds of times better or faster--modem speeds are barely 10 times faster. Broadband connections offer some additional speed but still not comparable growth as broadband connections are still in their infancy. Rather than trying to make use of existing communication paths, maybe we need a massive infrastructure makeover of something new. How about national wireless access points so we can connect anywhere, anytime? To use the latest and fastest wireless technology you will simply need to buy another $9.95 WLAN card or download the latest super slick WLAN compression/encryption software. Perhaps it is time for a massive infra-restructuring. Consider the past massive infrastructure efforts. The telcos needed to put in their wiring infrastructure starting in the 1870s before telephones were useful to the masses. CATV was a minor player in the TV broadcast business before they installed their cabling infrastructure and went national. Even automobiles were fairly useless until roads were paved and the highway infrastructure was built!  相似文献

Computational grids have been emerging as a new paradigm for solving large complex problems over the recent years. The problem space and data set are divided into smaller pieces that are processed in parallel over the grid network and reassembled upon completion. Typically, resources are logged into a resource broker that is somewhat aware of all of the participants available on the grid. The resource broker scheme can be a bottleneck because of the amount of computational power and network bandwidth needed to maintain a fresh view of the grid. In this paper, we propose to place the load of managing the network resource discovery on to the network itself: inside of the routers. In the proposed protocol, the routers contain tables for resources similar to routing tables. These resource tables map IP addresses to the available computing resource values, which are provided through a scoring mechanism. Each resource provider is scored based on the attributes they provide such as the number of processors, processor frequency, amount of memory, hard drive space, and the network bandwidth. The resources are discovered on the grid by the protocol’s discovery packets, which are encapsulated within the TCP/IP packets. The discovery packet visits the routers and look up in the resource tables until a satisfactory resource is found. The protocol is validated by simulations with five different deployment environments.  相似文献

Low-dose metronomic (LDM) paclitaxel therapy displayed a stronger anti-angiogenic activity on breast tumors with fewer side effects. Upregulation of anti-angiogenic factor Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) accords for therapeutic potency of LDM paclitaxel, but its molecular mechanism has not been elucidated yet. microRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as new important regulators of tumor growth and metastasis. Here, we hypothesize that miRNAs are involved in TSP-1 overexpression in paclitaxel LDM therapy of breast tumors. The miRNA profile of tumor tissues from control, LDM and MTD groups in 4T1 mouse breast cancer model was detected by microarray, and then verified by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Luciferase assay and western blot were employed to explore the mechanisms of miRNAs involved in this process. We found that let-7f, let-7a, miR-19b and miR-340-5p were reduced by >2 fold, and miR-543* and miR-684 were upregulated by at least 50% in paclitaxel LDM therapy. qRT-PCR verification revealed that let-7f level was reduced most significantly in LDM therapy. Computational prediction using TargetScan and miRanda suggested THBS1 which encodes TSP-1 as a potential target for let-7f. Luciferase activity assay further confirmed that let-7f may bind to 3''UTR of THBS1 gene and inhibit its activity. Moreover, forced expression of let-7f led to a decrease of TSP-1 at both mRNA and protein levels in MCF-7 cells. Contrastly, let-7f inhibition induced an increased expression of THBS1 mRNA and TSP-1 protein, but did not affect the proliferation and apoptosis of MCF-7 cells. Paclitaxel LDM therapy led to a decrease of let-7f and the elevation of TSP-1 protein expression in MCF-7 cells, while overexpression of let-7f may abolish LDM-induced the upregulation of TSP-1 in MCF-7 cells. In summary, let-7f inhibition contributed to the upregulation of TSP-1 in paclitaxel LDM therapy, independently of proliferation, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis of breast cancer. This study indicates let-7f as a potential therapeutic target for breast tumor.  相似文献

The composition and patterns of metabolism of phospholipids isolated as part of a lipid-depleted membrane fragment (LDM fragment) and associated with the membrane adenosine triphosphatase complex have been compared with those of the bulk membrane phospholipid. The bulk lipid was extracted from washed membranes with sodium cholate. The LDM fragments, which contained a portion of the electron transport system and the membrane adenosine triphosphatase complex, were purified by chromatography with Sepharose 6B. The LDM fragment preparations contained 0.10 +/- 0.02 mumol of lipid phosphorus per mg of protein, compared with 0.54 +/- 0.05 mumol of lipid phosphorus per mg of protein for washed membranes. The phospholipid associated with the LDM fragments consisted of 78 +/- 4% cardiolipin, 7 +/- 1% phosphatidylglycerol, and 15 +/- 3% phosphatidylethanolamine. Changes in the total membrane lipid composition (produced by culture conditions) did not alter the phospholipid composition of the LDM fragments. The adenosine triphosphate complex was separated from the other components of the LDM fragments by suspension of the fragments in 1% Triton X-100 and precipitation with antibody specific for the F(1) component of the adenosine triphosphatase complex. The phospholipid isolated with the adenosine triphosphatase complex consisted of 86% cardiolipin, 8% phosphatidylglycerol, and 6% phosphatidylethanolamine. In pulse-chase experiments with (32)P and [2-(3)H]glycerol, the labeling patterns of the phosphatididylglycerol and phosphatidylethanolamine associated with the LDM fragments were different from those of the bulk membrane phosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylethanolamine. It was concluded that at least a portion of the phospholipid isolated with the LDM fragments was part of a native lipid-protein complex.  相似文献

Distributed e-Infrastructure is a key component of modern BIG Science. Service discovery in e-Science environments, such as Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG), is a crucial functionality that relies on service registry. In this paper we re-formulate the requirements for the service endpoint registry based on our more than 10 years experience with many systems designed or used within the WLCG e-Infrastructure. To satisfy those requirements the paper proposes a novel idea to use the existing well-established Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure together with a suitable data model as a service endpoint registry. The presented ARC Hierarchical Endpoints Registry (ARCHERY) system consists of a minimalistic data model representing services and their endpoints within e-Infrastructures, a rendering of the data model embedded into DNS-records, a lightweight software layer for DNS-record management and client-side data discovery. Our approach for the ARCHERY registry required minimal software development and inherits all the benefits of one of the most reliable distributed information discovery source of the internet, the DNS infrastructure. In particular, deployment, management and operation of ARCHERY is fully relying on DNS. Results of ARCHERY deployment use-cases are provided together with performance analysis.

Cardiomyoplasty is an experimental treatment for end-stage heart failure. We hypothesized that the porcine latissimus dorsi muscle (LDM) in an experimental porcine model is a suitable surrogate for a clinically relevant evaluation of this concept. Fourteen Danish Landrace (DL) pigs and six G?ttingen minipigs (GM) were studied. The LDM was evaluated immediately after surgical dissection and in various phases: phase 1 (n = 4)--outcome of a partial vascular isolation (vascular delay), 2 to 3 weeks prior to heart wrapping in DL pigs; phase 2 (n = 6)--long-term flap survival of nonstimulated LDM cardiomyoplasty in DL pigs; phase 3 (n = 6)--outcome of nonstimulated cardiomyoplasty in GM; phase 4--one DL pig had dynamic cardiomyoplasty performed and was subjected to low-intensity LDM stimulation for 8 months. Isolation of the LDM of DL pigs and GM as a pedicled graft had no acute deleterious impact on the global blood supply. In phase 1a, partial vascular isolation and in situ recovery of the LDM resulted in a muscle encapsulated in fibrotic tissue, which hampered a later heart wrap. In phase 1b, a less extensive dissection diminished fibrosis and allowed subsequent wrapping. In phase 2, after 6 weeks of nonstimulated LDM cardiomyoplasty, the LDM of DL pigs was viable, with excellent heart-muscle integration. In phase 3, the same procedure applied in GM yielded the same result as that in DL pigs, but with a higher success rate owing to the learning phase.  相似文献

Though IP multicast is resource efficient in delivering data to a group of members simultaneously, it suffers from scalability problem with the number of concurrently active multicast groups because it requires a router to keep forwarding state for every multicast tree passing through it. To solve this state scalability problem, we proposed a scheme, called aggregated multicast. The key idea is that multiple groups are forced to share a single delivery tree. In our earlier work, we introduced the basic concept of aggregated multicast and presented some initial results to show that multicast state can be reduced. In this paper, we develop a more quantitative assessment of the cost/benefit trade-offs. We propose an algorithm to assign multicast groups to delivery trees with controllable cost and introduce metrics to measure multicast state and tree management overhead for multicast schemes. We then compare aggregated multicast with conventional multicast schemes, such as source specific tree scheme and shared tree scheme. Our extensive simulations show that aggregated multicast can achieve significant routing state and tree management overhead reduction while containing the expense of extra resources (bandwidth waste and tunnelling overhead). We conclude that aggregated multicast is a very cost-effective and promising direction for scalable transit domain multicast provisioning.  相似文献

Tree-based overlay multicast is an effective group communication method for media streaming applications. However, a group member’s departure causes all of its descendants to be disconnected from the multicast tree for some time, which results in poor performance. The above problem is difficult to be addressed because overlay multicast tree is intrinsically instable. In this paper, we proposed a novel stability enhancing solution, VMCast, for tree-based overlay multicast. This solution uses two types of on-demand cloud virtual machines (VMs), i.e., multicast VMs (MVMs) and compensation VMs (CVMs). MVMs are used to disseminate the multicast data, whereas CVMs are used to offer streaming compensation. The used VMs in the same cloud datacenter constitute a VM cluster. Each VM cluster is responsible for a service domain (VMSD), and each group member belongs to a specific VMSD. The data source delivers the multicast data to MVMs through a reliable path, and MVMs further disseminate the data to group members along domain overlay multicast trees. The above approach structurally improves the stability of the overlay multicast tree. We further utilized CVM-based streaming compensation to enhance the stability of the data distribution in the VMSDs. VMCast can be used as an extension to existing tree-based overlay multicast solutions, to provide better services for media streaming applications. We applied VMCast to two application instances (i.e., HMTP and HCcast). The results show that it can obviously enhance the stability of the data distribution.  相似文献

Type IV collagenase plays an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis through cleaving type IV collagen in the basement membrane and extracellular matrix. In this study a molecule-downsized immunoconjugate (Fab'-LDM) was constructed by linking lidamycin (LDM), a highly potent antitumor antibiotic, to the Fab' fragment of a monoclonal antibody directed against type IV collagenase and its antitumor effect was investigated. As assayed in 10% SDS-PAGE gel, the molecular weight of Fab'-LDM conjugate was 65 kD with a 1 : 1 molecular ratio of Fab' and LDM. The Fab'-LDM conjugate maintained most part of the immunoreactivity of Fab' fragment to both type IV collagense and mouse hepatoma 22 cells by ELISA. By MTT assay, Fab'-LDM conjugate showed more potent cytotoxicity to hepatoma 22 cells than that of LDM. Administered intravenously, Fab'-LDM conjugate proved to be more effective against the growth of subcutaneously transplanted hepatoma 22 in mice than free LDM in two experiment settings. Apolipoprotein E4 (apoE4) encoded by epsilon 4 allele is a strong genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). ApoE4 carriers have accelerated amyloid beta-protein (A beta) deposition in their brains, which may account for their unusual susceptibility to AD. We hypothesized that the accelerated A beta deposition in the brain of apoE4 carriers is mediated through cholesterol-enriched low-density membrane (LDM) domains. Thus, the concentrations of A beta and various lipids in LDM domains were quantified in the brains of homozygous apoE3 and apoE4 knock-in (KI) mice, and in the brains of those mice bred with beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP) transgenic mice (Tg2576). The A beta 40 and A beta 42 concentrations and the A beta 42 proportions in LDM domains did not differ between apoE3 and apoE4 KI mice up to 18 months of age. The A beta 40 concentration in the LDM domains was slightly, but significantly higher in apoE3/APP mice than in apoE4/APP mice. The lipid composition of LDM domains was modulated in an apoE isoform-specific manner, but its significance for A beta deposition remains unknown. These data show that the apoE isoform-specific effects on the A beta concentration in LDM domains do not occur in KI mouse models.  相似文献

The influence of plating cell density of an originally enriched myocardial cell population has been studied in neonatal rat heart cells in culture. Low density (LDM) is defined as a density (24 h after plating) of 209 +/- 44 cells/mm2 (mean +/- SEM) and is compared with high density (HDM), 419 +/- 67 cells/mm2. Cell growth is evaluated by the total cell number, the percentage of myocardial cells (M) in culture (PAS method) and the protein content per cell. Some differentiation parameters such as beating rates, glycogen concentration, enzymatic activities (cytochrome C oxidase and glycogen phosphorylase) are studied with time in culture (48, 96 and 192 hr). High density was designed to yield a complete confluency of the cells within 24 hr after plating and to minimize cell division of the non-muscle cells (F). At high density, cell division of F cells is effectively limited, thus leading to a more stable model regarding the cell density per plate and the percentage of M cells: 85.7 +/- 4% and 33.4 +/- 6% in LDM cultures compared with 86.5 +/- 4.7% and 51.7 +/- 9.8% in HDM cultures at 24 and 192 hr (mean +/- SEM). Heart cells increase similarly in size with age in culture in both groups. In HDM cultures the spontaneous contractions begin sooner (24 hr) than in LDM cultures and are more rapidly synchronized. The beating rate is higher in HDM cultures between 48 and 96 hr; however, after this time it falls in HDM and does not fall in LDM. Thus the overgrowth of muscle cells by non-muscle cells is not responsible for loss of beating with time in culture but more likely high density could be a limiting factor for isotonic contraction. There is more glycogen per myocyte in LDM than in HDM cultures. The cell density influences the enzymatic activities of cytochrome C oxidase and glycogen phosphorylase. The cytochrome oxidase activity is higher in HDM cultures than in LDM cultures at 96 hr whereas glycogen phosphorylase activity is higher in LDM cultures at time 96 and 192 hr. In LDM cultures, the ratio cytochrome C oxidase/glycogen phosphorylase decreases with time in culture from 1.685 +/- 0.680 at 48 hr to 0.780 +/- 0.290 at 192 hr but not in HDM cultures (2.13 +/- 0.36 and 1.64 +/- 0.34 respectively). Thus plating density influences properties of heart cell cultures with regard to the overgrowth of the F-cell population and the differentiated state of M cells.  相似文献

Massive sedimentation of mats of the diatom Thalassiothrix longissima forming laminated diatom mat deposits (LDM) occurred intermittently in the equatorial Pacific throughout the Neogene from at least 15 to 4.8 m.y. ago. The background deposition was otherwise calcareous nannofossil diatom ooze (NO). Benthic foraminifera have been used to reconstruct the benthic environment of deposition and the role of both surface waters (as a source of food) and bottom waters (including their corrosivity) during LDM deposition. Three LDM events were studied: Site 844 (11.4 Ma, early Tortonian), Site 849 (4.8 Ma, early Zanclian and 6.6–6.8 Ma, early Messinian). A control section of NO spanning the 4.8 Ma event was studied from Site 851. In addition, the carbonate high NO immediately preceding the 4.8 Ma event was examined in Site 849. From the foraminiferal evidence it can be shown that the LDM was deposited under conditions of normal oxygenation because infaunal taxa are present throughout and there was an increase in epifaunal taxa such as Cibicides spp. However, there was a reduction in test size probably because only those smaller than 250 μm were able to move through the restricted sediment pore spaces caused by the diatom mat meshwork. The rate of accumulation of tests is highest in LDM interval and may reflect reduced predation from macrofaunal endobenthos. Among the epifaunal taxa, Nuttallides spp. show a decrease in abundance in the LDM and even immediately preceding it. This may be linked to a greater influence of corrosive AABW. Species known to feed opportunistically on phytodetritus (Epistominella exigua and Alabaminella weddellensis) are common in both NO and LDM. The increased relative abundance of A. weddellensis in the LDM may be due to this species being smaller than E. exigua and better able to exploit the food resource within the restrictive mat meshwork. The foraminiferal results corroborate the previous interpretation that preservation of lamination in the LDM is due to the physical exclusion of macro endobenthos rather than oxygen depletion of the bottom waters.  相似文献

The transfer of scientific data has emerged as a significant challenge, as datasets continue to grow in size and demand for open access sharing increases. Current methods for file transfer do not scale well for large files and can cause long transfer times. In this study we present BioTorrents, a website that allows open access sharing of scientific data and uses the popular BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing technology. BioTorrents allows files to be transferred rapidly due to the sharing of bandwidth across multiple institutions and provides more reliable file transfers due to the built-in error checking of the file sharing technology. BioTorrents contains multiple features, including keyword searching, category browsing, RSS feeds, torrent comments, and a discussion forum. Linkage-disequilibrium mapping (LDM) recently has been hailed as a powerful statistical method for fine-scale mapping of disease genes. After reviewing its historical background and methodological development, we present a general, mathematical, and conceptually coherent framework for LDM that incorporates multilocus and multiallelic markers and mutational processes at the marker and disease loci. With this framework, we address several issues relevant to fine-scale mapping and propose some efficient computational methods for LDM. We implement various LDM methods that incorporate population growth, recurrent mutation, and marker mutations, on the basis of a general framework. We demonstrate these methods by applying them to published data on cystic fibrosis, Huntington disease, Friedreich ataxia, and progressive myoclonus epilepsy. Since the genes responsible for these diseases all have been cloned, we can evaluate the performance of our methods and can compare ours with that of other methods. Using the proposed methods, we successfully and accurately predicted the locations of genes responsible for these diseases, on the basis of published data only.  相似文献

Swimming speed (v) and flagellar-bundle rotation rate (f) of Salmonella typhimurium, which has peritrichous flagella, were simultaneously measured by laser dark-field microscopy (LDM). Clear periodic changes in the LDM signals from a rotating bundle indicated in-phase rotation of the flagella in the bundle. A roughly linear relation between v and f was observed, though the data points were widely distributed. The ratio of v to f (v-f ratio), which indicates the propulsive distance during one flagellar rotation, was 0.27 microm (11% of the flagellar pitch) on average. The experimental v-f ratio was twice as large as the calculated one on the assumption that a cell had a single flagellum. Physiol. 83(3):994-1001, 1997.In cardiomyoplasty, the latissimus dorsi muscle(LDM) is wrapped around the heart ventricles and electrically activatedwith a constant-frequency train (CFT). This study tested the hypothesesthat increased mechanical performance from the LDM could be achieved byactivating the muscle with variable-frequency trains (VFTs) of shorterduration or containing fewer stimulus pulses than the CFT now used. Themechanical performance of the canine LDM (n = 7) during shortening contractionswas measured while the muscle was stimulated with 5- and 6-pulse CFTs(of duration 132 and 165 ms, respectively) and 5- and 6-pulse VFTs (ofduration 104 and 143 ms, respectively) that were designed to takeadvantage of the catchlike property of skeletal muscle. Measurementswere made from fresh and fatigued muscles. For the fresh muscles, the VFTs elicited significantly greater peak power than did the 6-pulse CFT. When the muscles were fatigued, VFT stimulation significantly improved both the peak and mean power produced compared withstimulation by CFTs. These results show that stimulation of the LDMwith shorter duration VFTs is potentially useful for application incardiomyoplasty.
