Aulopus bajacali, described from the eastern Pacific Ocean from a single specimen, is redescribed. It is now known from over 400 specimens. It is the only Pacific species ofAulopus belonging with the Atlantic species group ofA. nanae, A. filamentosus, andA. cadenati. It shares a short dorsal-fin base and some color pattern characters with this group. New distribution records from Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands extend its range; it is now known from mid-Baja California (25°N) to about 3°S in the eastern central Pacific.  相似文献

Summary Mylonchulus sessus n.sp. is described. It is close to M. sigmaturus and M. dentatus and was found in soil from around tomato from Brunei. It has an exceptionally well developed and differentiated female reproductive system which is rather unusual in Mylonchulus and, although close to M. sigmaturus and M. dentatus differs from both in having wider amphids and smaller submedian teeth.  相似文献

Four new dinoflagellates   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Fragilidium fissile is a new species of this rare genus. It somewhat resemblesF. subglobosum. It differs from the latter in having a slot and a pore in the first apical plate 1′ (the nomenclature of dinoflagellate plate designation follows the Kofoid system). Both species are also distinguishable by noticeable differences in Po, 1″″ and 1‴.Peridinium tyrrhenicum is a small species differing from all the other known species ofPeridinium in its shape, apical channel and several plates, especially some of the sulcal components.Alexandrium foedum somewhat resemblesA. balechii, but it differs from the latter in that its width is greater than its length, and in the characters of all the main sulcal plates. The above listed species were found in a sample from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The fourth species,Alexandrium andersoni, is a small dinoflagellate obtained in coastal waters off Cape Cod. It differs from all the other species of the minutum group in the very typical shapes of both the 6″ and the S. s.Pentapharsodinium daleii Indelicato and Loeblich is transferred toPeridinium.  相似文献

A new taxon of Ceratium is described from Lake Doïrani, Greece. It is proposed as a new species and named Ceratium monoceras. It differs morphologically from known species of Ceratium by having only one horn, the apical horn. Accordingly, the vegetative cells form cysts that have only one spine. Details of its ecology and occurence are given.  相似文献

Abstract

Fissidens firmus is revised, described, illustrated and a distribution is provided. It is compared to Fissidens hollianus, Fissidens pseudofirmus, Fissidens sedgwickii and Fissidens touwii. It is provisionally distinguished from F. firmus sensu auct. Fissidens multiflorus is reduced to F. hollianus. Lectotypes are designated for Fissidens multiflorus and Fissidens giesenhagenii. The collection that was reported from India as F. firmus appears to be F. hollianus. Thus, the present Western Ghats collection is effectively the first Indian record of F. firmus.  相似文献

Passiflora tacanensis, a new species from southern Mexico, is described and illustrated. It was discovered during the course of a taxonomic revision ofPassiflora subgenusDecaloba supersectionCieca and is assigned to that group of apetalous passion flowers.Passiflora tacanensis is known only from one fruiting herbarium specimen that was collected in southern Mexico on Volcán Tacaná in a high mesophytic forest. It is distinguished from its closest relatives,P. coriacea, P. sexocellata, P. mcvaughiana, andP. xiikzodz, by its foliose stipules, leaves that lack laminar nectaries but possess petiolar nectaries, and wide seeds with a chalazal beak that is not well developed.  相似文献

Monostephanostomum georgianum n. sp. is described from Arripis georgianus off Kangaroo Island, South Australia. It differs from its congeners by the presence of a short second row of oral spines. M. manteri Kruse, 1979 is reported from A. georgianus off southern Western Australia and Kangaroo Island, South Australia and A. trutta off northern Tasmania. It is considered that the other two species, M. yamagutii Ramadan, 1984 and M. krusei Reimer, 1983, should probably be removed from this genus. Two new combinations are formed, M. gazzae (Shen, 1990) n. comb. (from Stephanostomum) and M. mesospinosum (Madhavi, 1976) n. comb. (from Stephanostomum). A key to the four recognised species of Monostephanostomum is given.  相似文献

Summary Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from fertile (N) and possibly new cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) genotypes was studied in the sugar beet Beta vulgaris L. It was found by restriction endonuclease analysis that BMC-CMS, a cytoplasm that was derived from the wild beet Beta maritima, contained a unique type of mtDNA which is distinguishable from both the N and S-CMS, the only other CMS genotype that is currently availabe in B. vulgaris L. The organization of three genes: coxI, coxII and cob, was analyzed by hybridization with heterologous probes from maize. These genes have a similar structure in N and BMC-CMS that is different from S-CMS. It is concluded that BMC-CMS is a novel CMS genotype in the sugar beet.  相似文献

It was examined whether Formica polyctena and F. sanguinea ants from a mixed colony elicit higher levels of aggression of conspecific ants in comparison to ants from homospecific colonies. Individuals were confronted in an experimental arena and their behavior was recorded. It was found that F. polyctena workers behaved more aggressively toward ants from a mixed colony. This pattern, however, was not confirmed in F. sanguinea. Moreover, both species clearly discriminated between conspecific and allospecific ants from a mixed colony. It seems that as a result of social interactions both species exchanged cuticular hydrocarbons, which caused their recognition labels to adjust to some extent. Results of the present study support the idea that that F. sanguinea is able to form mixed colonies in which species-specific recognition cues are probably still retained.  相似文献

Jurinea turcica B.Doǧan & A.Duran sp. nova (Asteraceae) is described and illustrated from North-West Anatolia, Turkey. It is closely related to J. macrocalathia and also an endemic. Diagnostic morphological characters of J. turcica from closely similar taxa are discussed. The pollen characteristics and achene surface morphology of J. turcica and J. macrocalathia are examined by SEM. It is diploid with the chromosome number of 2n = 34.  相似文献

A new species of Penicillium Link ex Fries is described and illustrated. It is represented by twenty six isolates recovered from soil at twenty six different locations at the southern part of the Paul Kruger National Park in South Africa. It clearly differs from all species of the genus described so far among the Biverticillata-Symmetrica Section, and it is therefore described and proposed as a new taxon: Penicillium krugerii sp. nov.  相似文献

Pseudorthocladius cristagus sp. n. is described as male imago. It differs from all other members of the genus Pseudorthocladius v. d. Wulp except P. pilosipennis Brundin by having setae on the wing membrane. It can be separated from P. pilosipennis by having a gonostylus with a prominent crista dorsalis and an outer corner or heel. The species was collected with emergence traps from a helocrene spring in northern Luxemburg.  相似文献

A Physoderma was found on Myriophyllum spicatum in Michigan. This is the first recorded on this host from this hemisphere. It differs from the Danish P. myriophylli Rostrup in not producing galls on the host and in several aspects of its endobiotic stage. It more closely resembles a Swedish fungus attributed to Physoderma hippuridis by Lagerheim occurring on the same species of host.  相似文献
