Using cultured pear (Pyrus communis cv Bartlett) cells, heat tolerance induced by heat shock was compared to that developed during growth at high temperature. After growth at 22°C, cells exposed to 38°C for 20 minutes (heat shock) showed maximum increased tolerance within 6 hours. Cells grown at 30°C developed maximum heat tolerance after 5 to 6 days; this maximum was well below that induced by heat shock. Heat shock-induced tolerance was fully retained at 22°C for 2 days and was only partly lost after 4 days. However, pear cells acclimated at 30°C lost all acquired heat tolerance 1 to 2 days after transfer to 22°C. In addition, cells which had been heat-acclimated by growth at 30°C showed an additional increase in heat tolerance in response to 39°C heat shock. The most striking difference between heat shock and high growth temperature effects on heat tolerance was revealed when tolerance was determined using viability tests based on different cell functions. Growth at 30°C produced a general hardening, i.e. increased heat tolerance was observed with all three viability tests. In contrast, significantly increased tolerance of heat-shocked cells was observed only with the culture regrowth test. The two types of treatment evoke different mechanisms of heat acclimation.  相似文献

Endogenous abscisic acid levels and induced heat shock proteins were measured in tissue exposed for 6 hours to temperatures that reduced their subsequent chilling sensitivity. One-centimeter discs excised from fully expanded cotyledons of 11-day-old seedlings of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L., cv Poinsett 76) were exposed to 12.5 or 37°C for 6 hours followed by 4 days at 2.5 or 12.5°C. Ion leakage, a qualitative indicator of chilling injury, increased after 2 to 3 day exposure to 2.5°C, but not to 12.5°C, a nonchilling temperature. Exposure to 37°C before chilling significantly reduced the rate of ion leakage by about 60% compared to tissue exposed to 12.5°C before chilling, but slightly increased leakage compared to tissue exposed to 12.5 or 37°C and held at the nonchilling temperature of 12.5°C. There was no relationship between abscisic acid content following exposure to 12.5 or 37°C and chilling tolerance. Five heat shock proteins, with apparent molecular mass of 25, 38, 50, 70, and 80 kilodaltons, were induced by exposure to 37 or 42°C for 6 hours, and their appearance coincided with increased chilling resistance. Heat shock treatments reduced the synthesis of three proteins with apparent molecular mass of 14, 17, and 43 kilodaltons. Induction of heat shock proteins could be a possible cause of reduced chilling injury in tissue exposed to 37 or 42°C.  相似文献

This study evaluated the impact of inoculum preparation and storage conditions on the response of Escherichia coli O157:H7 exposed to consumer-induced stresses simulating undercooking and digestion. Lean beef tissue samples were inoculated with E. coli O157:H7 cultures prepared in tryptic soy broth or meat decontamination runoff fluids (WASH) or detached from moist biofilms or dried biofilms formed on stainless steel coupons immersed in inoculated WASH. After inoculation, the samples were left untreated or dipped for 30 s each in hot (75°C) water followed by lactic acid (2%, 55°C), vacuum packaged, stored at 4 (28 days) or 12°C (16 days), and periodically transferred to aerobic storage (7°C for 5 days). During storage, samples were exposed to sequential heat (55°C; 20 min) and simulated gastric fluid (adjusted to pH 1.0 with HCl; 90 min) stresses simulating consumption of undercooked beef. Under the conditions of this study, cells originating from inocula of planktonic cells were, in general, more resistant to heat and acid than cells from cultures grown as biofilms and detached prior to meat inoculation. Heat and acid tolerance of cells on meat stored at 4°C was lower than that of cells on nondecontaminated meat stored at 12°C, where growth occurred during storage. Decontamination of fresh beef resulted in injury that inhibited subsequent growth of surviving cells at 12°C, as well as in decreases in resistance to subsequent heat and acid stresses. The shift of pathogen cells on beef stored under vacuum at 4°C to aerobic storage did not affect cell populations or subsequent survival after sequential exposure to heat and simulated gastric fluid. However, the transfer of meat stored under vacuum at 12°C to aerobic storage resulted in reduction in pathogen counts during aerobic storage and sensitization of survivors to the effects of sequential heat and acid exposure.  相似文献

The stability of the ice nucleation activity (INA) and viability of INA Pseudomonas syringae 31a, used as an ice nucleator in the manufacture of synthetic snow, was determined in snow. The viability of P. syringae 1-2b, a rifampin-resistant mutant selected from strain 31a to improve recovery from test samples, was determined in laboratory tests of three alpine soil and water samples from three different sources. Snow samples were exposed to environmental conditions or held in darkness at −20°C. Samples of soil and water were maintained in darkness at 0, 7.5, or 15°C. Parent strain 31a INA decreased significantly (>99.0%) in snow exposed to sunlight and freeze-thaw, while the INA of the cell population in snow held in darkness at −20°C remained essentially unchanged. No viable strain 31a was detected in snow exposed to the environment after 7 days, while the viability of strain 31a in snow held in darkness at −20°C decreased to <3% of the original inoculation at the test conclusion. Mutant strain 1-2b viability was undetectable or had decreased significantly 19 days postinoculation in soil samples held at 0 or 15°C. In contrast, 1-2b viability remained detectable at low levels for the duration of the test in soils held at 7.5°C. The 1-2b population demonstrated a significantly longer half-life in peatlike soil than in the loam soils tested. The rate of decrease in 1-2b viability was essentially the same in the three alpine water samples tested with respect to water temperature and sample location.  相似文献

A procedure for cryogenic storage of alkaloid producing cell lines of periwinkle, Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don., has been developed. The procedure differs from established cryopreservation protocols in several aspects. Specifically, 4-day-old suspension subcultures of three cell lines were precultured in nutrient media supplemented with 1 molar sorbitol for 6 to 20 hours. The cells were then incubated in nutrient media with 1 molar sorbitol plus 5% DMSO in an ice bath for 1 hour and, thereafter, were frozen in this solution at a cooling rate of 0.5°C per minute to −40°C prior to immersion in liquid nitrogen (LN). After rapid thawing in a 40°C water bath, the regrowth of LN stored cells was achieved by transferring them without washing onto filter paper discs over nutrient media solidified with agar for a period of 4 to 5 hours. The filter paper discs with the cells were then transferred to fresh media of the same composition for regrowth. The viability immediately after thawing as evaluated by the 2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride method was about 60% of controls. Suspension cultures established from LN stored cells retained the capability for alkaloid synthesis and accumulation.  相似文献

Incipient freeze-thaw stress in onion bulb scale tissue is known to cause enhanced efflux of K+, along with small but significant loss of cellular Ca2+. During the post-thaw period, irreversibly injured cells undergo a cytological aberration, namely, `protoplasmic swelling.' This cellular symptom is thought to be caused by replacement of Ca2+ from membrane by extracellular K+ and subsequent perturbation of K+ transport properties of plasma membrane. In the present study, onion (Allium cepa L. cv Sweet Sandwich) bulbs were slowly frozen to either −8.5°C or −11.5°C and thawed over ice. Inner epidermal peels from bulb scales were treated with fluorescein diacetate for assessing viability. In these cells, membrane-associated calcium was determined using chlorotetracycline fluorescence microscopy combined with image analysis. Increased freezing stress and tissue infiltration (visual water-soaking) were paralleled by increased ion leakage. Freezing injury (−11.5°C; irreversible) caused a specific and substantial loss of membrane-associated Ca2+ compared to control. Loss of membrane-associated Ca2+ caused by moderate stress (−8.5°C; reversible) was much less relative to −11.5°C treatment. Ion efflux and Ca2+-chlorotetracycline fluorescence showed a negative relationship. Extracellular KCl treatment simulated freeze-thaw stress by causing a similar loss of membrane-associated calcium. This loss was dramatically reduced by presence of extracellular CaCl2. Our results suggest that the loss of membrane-associated Ca2+, in part, plays a role in initiation and progression of freezing injury.  相似文献

The effects of growth temperature (2°C and 24°C), abscisic acid (ABA) concentration, duration of exposure to ABA, and light were assessed for their ability to induce acclimation to freezing temperatures in callus cultures of Lotus corniculatus L. cv Leo, a perennial forage legume. The maximal expression of freezing tolerance was achieved on B5 media containing 10−5 molar ABA, at 24°C for 7 or 14 days. Under these culture conditions, the freezing tolerance of the callus approximated that observed in field grown plants. In contrast, low temperatures (2°C) induced only a limited degree of freezing tolerance in these cultures. Viability was assessed by tetrazolium reduction and by regrowth of the callus. The two assays often differed in their estimates of absolute freezing tolerance. Regression analysis of the temperature profile suggested that there may be two or more distinct populations of cells differing in freezing tolerance, which may have contributed to the variability between viability assays.  相似文献

Heat stress resistance and response were studied in strains of Lactobacillus plantarum. Stationary-phase cells of L. plantarum DPC2739 had decimal reduction times (D values) (D value was the time that it took to reduce the number of cells by 1 log cycle) in sterile milk of 32.9, 14.7, and 7.14 s at 60, 72, and 75°C, respectively. When mid-exponential-phase cells were used, the D values decreased. The temperature increases which caused a 10-fold reduction in the D value ranged from 9 to 20°C, depending on the strain. Part of the cell population treated at 72°C for 90 s recovered viability during incubation at 7°C in sterile milk for 20 days. When mid-exponential- or stationary-phase cells of L. plantarum DPC2739 were adapted to 42°C for 1 h, the heat resistance at 72°C for 90 s increased ca. 3 and 2 log cycles, respectively. Heat-adapted cells also showed increased growth at pH 5 and in the presence of 6% NaCl. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis of proteins expressed by control and heat-adapted cells revealed changes in the levels of expression of 31 and 18 proteins in mid-exponential- and stationary-phase cells, respectively. Twelve proteins were commonly induced. Nine proteins induced in the heat-adapted mid-exponential- and/or stationary-phase cells of L. plantarum DPC2739 were subjected to N-terminal sequencing. These proteins were identified as DnaK, GroEL, trigger factor, ribosomal proteins L1, L11, L31, and S6, DNA-binding protein II HlbA, and CspC. All of these proteins have been found to play a role in the mechanisms of stress adaptation in other bacteria. Antibodies against GroES detected a protein which was induced moderately, while antibodies against DnaJ and GrpE reacted with proteins whose level of expression did not vary after heat adaptation. This study showed that the heat resistance of L. plantarum is a complex process involving proteins with various roles in cell physiology, including chaperone activity, ribosome stability, stringent response mediation, temperature sensing, and control of ribosomal function. The physiological mechanisms of response to pasteurization in L. plantarum are fundamental for survival in cheese during manufacture.  相似文献

Valeriana jatamansi Jones and Hedychium spicatum Ham-ex-Smith are important medicinal herbs of the Himalayan region, which are highly demanded by pharmaceutical industries. Climatic variability especially increasing temperature and water deficit affects the growth and productivity of these species. In addition, increased temperature and water deficit may trigger the biosynthesis of medicinally important bioactive metabolites, which influence the quality of raw plant material and finished products. Therefore, V. jatamansi and H. spicatum plants were undertaken and subjected to different levels of drought (no irrigation), heat (35 °C), and combined stresses for investigating their physiological and metabolic responses. Both the treatments (individually and in combination) reduced relative water content, photosynthesis, carboxylation efficiency, chlorophyll content, while increased intracellular CO2, malondialdehyde and H2O2 content in both the species. Transpiration and stomatal conductance increased under heat and reduced under drought stress as compared to control. Water use efficiency was found to be increased under drought, while reduced under heat stress. Protein, proline, carotenoid content and antioxidant enzymes activities (superoxide dismutase, peroxidise, catalase) initially increased and thereafter decreased during late stages of stress. Exposure of plants to combined stress was more detrimental than individual stress. In V. jatamansi, exposure to drought stress significantly (p < 0.05) increased valerenic acid content in all plant parts (1.0–6.9 fold) with maximum increase after 20 days of exposure, while under heat stress, valerenic acid content increased (1.0–1.2 fold) in belowground part of V. jatamansi, and decreased (1.1–1.3 fold) in aerial part as compared to control. In H. spicatum, exposure of individual heat stress for 25–30 days and combined stress for 5–15 days significantly (p < 0.05) increased linalool content to 6.2–6.5 fold and 8.3–19.6 fold, respectively, as compared to control. Higher accumulation of bioactive compounds after exposure to mild stress provides encouraging prospects for enhancing pharmaceutical properties of these Himalayan herbs.Supplementary Information The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s12298-021-01027-w.  相似文献

Background and Aims Conservation of the genetic diversity afforded by recalcitrant seeds is achieved by cryopreservation, in which excised embryonic axes (or, where possible, embryos) are treated and stored at temperatures lower than −180 °C using liquid nitrogen. It has previously been shown that intracellular ice forms in rapidly cooled embryonic axes of Acer saccharinum (silver maple) but this is not necessarily lethal when ice crystals are small. This study seeks to understand the nature and extent of damage from intracellular ice, and the course of recovery and regrowth in surviving tissues.Methods Embryonic axes of A. saccharinum, not subjected to dehydration or cryoprotection treatments (water content was 1·9 g H2O g−1 dry mass), were cooled to liquid nitrogen temperatures using two methods: plunging into nitrogen slush to achieve a cooling rate of 97 °C s−1 or programmed cooling at 3·3 °C s−1. Samples were thawed rapidly (177 °C s−1) and cell structure was examined microscopically immediately, and at intervals up to 72 h in vitro. Survival was assessed after 4 weeks in vitro. Axes were processed conventionally for optical microscopy and ultrastructural examination.Key Results Immediately following thaw after cryogenic exposure, cells from axes did not show signs of damage at an ultrastructural level. Signs that cells had been damaged were apparent after several hours of in vitro culture and appeared as autophagic decomposition. In surviving tissues, dead cells were sloughed off and pockets of living cells were the origin of regrowth. In roots, regrowth occurred from the ground meristem and procambium, not the distal meristem, which became lethally damaged. Regrowth of shoots occurred from isolated pockets of surviving cells of peripheral and pith meristems. The size of these pockets may determine the possibility for, the extent of and the vigour of regrowth.Conclusions Autophagic degradation and ultimately autolysis of cells following cryo-exposure and formation of small (0·2–0·4 µm) intracellular ice crystals challenges current ideas that ice causes immediate physical damage to cells. Instead, freezing stress may induce a signal for programmed cell death (PCD). Cells that form more ice crystals during cooling have faster PCD responses.  相似文献

Papaya (Carica papaya L.) is sensitive to low temperature and easy to be subjected to chilling injury, which causes fruit ripening disorder. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the expression of genes related to ethylene and fruit ripening disorder caused by chilling injury. Papaya fruits were firstly stored at 7°C and 12°C for 25 and 30 days, respectively, then treated with exogenous ethylene and followed by ripening at 25°C for 5 days. Chilling injury symptoms such as pulp water soaking were observed in fruit stored at 7°C on 20 days, whereas the coloration and softening were completely blocked after 25 days, Large differences in the changes in the expression levels of twenty two genes involved in ethylene were seen during 7°C-storage with chilling injury. Those genes with altered expression could be divided into three groups: the group of genes that were up-regulated, including ACS1/2/3, EIN2, EIN3s/EIL1, CTR1/2/3, and ERF1/3/4; the group of genes that were down-regulated, including ACO3, ETR1, CTR4, EBF2, and ERF2; and the group of genes that were un-regulated, including ACO1/2, ERS, and EBF1. The results also showed that pulp firmness had a significantly positive correlation with the expression of ACS2, ACO1, CTR1/4, EIN3a/b, and EBF1/2 in fruit without chilling injury. This positive correlation was changed to negative one in fruit after storage at 7°C for 25 days with chilling injury. The coloring index displayed significantly negative correlations with the expression levels of ACS2, ACO1/2, CTR4, EIN3a/b, ERF3 in fruit without chilling injury, but these correlations were changed into the positive ones in fruit after storage at 7°C for 25 days with chilling injury. All together, these results indicate that these genes may play important roles in the abnormal softening and coloration with chilling injury in papaya.  相似文献

The heat shock response in Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis was characterized with respect to synthesis of a unique set of proteins induced by thermal stress. A shift in temperature from 30 to 42°C was sufficient to arrest the growth of L. lactis subsp. lactis, but growth resumed after a shift back to 30°C. Heat shock at 50°C reduced the viable cell population by 103; however, pretreatment of the cells at 42°C made them more thermoresistant to exposure at 50°C. The enhanced synthesis of approximately 13 proteins was observed in cells labeled with 35S upon heat shock at 42°C. Of these heat shock-induced proteins, two appeared to be homologs of GroEL and DnaK, based on their molecular weights and reactivity with antiserum against the corresponding Escherichia coli proteins. Therefore, we conclude that L. lactis subsp. lactis displays a heat shock response similar to that observed in other mesophilic bacteria.  相似文献

Cultured tobacco cells (Nicotiana tabacum L. var Wisconsin-38) developed tolerance to otherwise nonpermissive 54°C treatment when heat-shocked at 38°C (2 h) but not at 42°C. Heat-shocked cells (38°C) exhibited little normal growth when the 54°C stress came immediately after heat shock and normal growth when 54°C stress was administered 8 hours after heat shock. Heat shock extended the length of time that the cells tolerated 54°C. Tobacco cells developed tolerance to otherwise lethal 2% NaCl treatment when salt-shocked (1.2% NaCl for 3 hours). The time course for salt tolerance development was similar to that of thermotolerance. Heat-shocked cells (38°C) developed tolerance of nonpermissive salt stress 8 hours after heat shock. Alternatively, cells heat-shocked at 42°C exhibited immediate tolerance to lethal salt stress followed by a decline over 8 hours. Radioactive methionine incorporation studies demonstrated synthesis of heat shock proteins at 38°C. The apparent molecular weights range from 15 to 115 kilodaltons with a protein complex in the 15 to 20 kilodalton range. Synthesis of heat shock proteins appeared to persist at 42°C but with large decreases in incorporation into selected heat shock protein. During salt shock, the synthesis of normal control proteins was reduced and a group of salt shock proteins appeared 3 to 6 h after shock. Similarities between the physiology and salt shock proteins/heat shock proteins suggest that both forms of stress may share common elements.  相似文献

The access to sufficient numbers of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) is a prerequisite for the study of their regulation and further biomanipulation. Rho kinase (ROCK) belongs to a family of serine/threonine kinases and involves in a wide range of fundamental cellular functions. The aim of the present study was to study the effect of ROCK inhibitor, Y-27632 (0.1-40 µM), during the primary culture of ovine SSCs. SSCs were collected from 3-5-month-old’s lamb testes. The viability of SSCs, the apoptosis assay of SSCs, the intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) analysis, and the SSCs markers and apoptosis-related gene expressions were detected by MTT reduction assay, Annexin V–FITC/ Propidium Iodide (PI) dual staining, flow cytometry and real-time-PCR studies, respectively. Morphological analyses indicated that the 5-10 µM Y-27632 had an optimal effect on the number of presumptive SSCs colonies and the area covered by them after a 10 days culture. The cell viability, apoptosis and necrosis of SSCs after 10 days’ culture were not affected in comparison with the control group, and the 20 µM of Y-27632 resulted in significantly decreased cell viability (P<0.05) and an increased necrosis of cells. On day 10 after culture, the expression of P53 was decreased with an increase from 0 to 10 µM in the Y-27632 dose. In the 20 µM Y-27632 group, the expressions of P53 and Bax were higher and the Bcl-2 was lower than other groups and these values were significantly different from 5 and 10 µM Y-27632 groups (P<0.05). The level of intracellular ROS was decreased with an increase in the Y-27632 dose from 5 to 20 µM in comparison with the control group. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that Y-27632 at a concentration of 5-10 µM provided optimal culture conditions for the primary culture of ovine SSCs.  相似文献

Heterogeneity in morphology, physiology and cellular chemistry of plant tissues can compromise successful cryoprotection and cryopreservation. Cryoprotection is a function of exposure time × temperature × permeability for the chosen protectant and diffusion pathway length, as determined by specimen geometry, to provide sufficient dehydration whilst avoiding excessive chemical toxicity. We have developed an innovative method of vacuum infiltration vitrification (VIV) at 381 mm (15 in) Hg (50 kPa) that ensures the rapid (5 min), uniform permeation of Plant Vitrification Solution 2 (PVS2) cryoprotectant into plant embryos and their successful cryopreservation, as judged by regrowth in vitro. This method was validated on zygotic embryos/embryonic axes of three species (Carica papaya, Passiflora edulis and Laurus nobilis) up to 1.6 mg dry mass and 5.6 mm in length, with varying physiology (desiccation tolerances) and 80°C variation in lipid thermal profiles, i.e., visco-elasticity properties, as determined by differential scanning calorimetry. Comparisons between the melting features of cryoprotected embryos and embryo regrowth indicated an optimal internal PVS2 concentration of about 60% of full strength. The physiological vigour of surviving embryos was directly related to the proportion of survivors. Compared with conventional vitrification, VIV-cryopreservation offered a ∼ 10-fold reduction in PVS2 exposure times, higher embryo viability and regrowth and greater effectiveness at two pre-treatment temperatures (0°C and 25°C). VIV-cryopreservation may form the basis of a generic, high throughput technology for the ex situ conservation of plant genetic resources, aiding food security and protection of species from diverse habitats and at risk of extinction.  相似文献

The heat stress response was studied in Lactobacillus helveticus PR4 during propagation in cheese whey with a gradient of naturally decreasing temperature (55 to 20°C). Growth under a gradient of decreasing temperature was compared to growth at a constant temperature of 42°C. Proteinase, peptidase, and acidification activities of L. helveticus PR4 were found to be higher in cells harvested when 40°C was reached by a gradient of decreasing temperature than in cells grown at constant temperature of 42°C. When cells grown under a temperature gradient were harvested after an initial exposure of 35 min to 55°C followed by decreases in temperature to 40 (3 h), 30 (5 h 30 min), or 20°C (13 h 30 min) and were then compared with cells grown for the same time at a constant temperature of 42°C, a frequently transient induction of the levels of expression of 48 proteins was found by two-dimensional electrophoresis analysis. Expression of most of these proteins increased following cooling from 55 to 40°C (3 h). Sixteen of these proteins were subjected to N-terminal and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry analyses. They were identified as stress proteins (e.g., DnaK and GroEL), glycolysis-related machinery (e.g., enolase and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase), and other regulatory proteins or factors (e.g., DNA-binding protein II and ATP-dependent protease). Most of these proteins have been found to play a role in the mechanisms of heat stress adaptation in other bacteria.  相似文献

Flow cytometry has been used as a routine method to count somatic cells in milk, and to ascertain udder health and milk quality. However, few studies investigate the viability of somatic cells and even fewer at a subpopulation level to follow up how the cells can resist to various stresses that can be encountered during technological processes. To address this issue, a flow cytometry approach was used to simultaneously identify cell types of bovine milk using cell-specific antibodies and to measure the cell viability among the identified subpopulations by using a live/dead cell viability kit. Confirmation of the cell viability was performed by using conventional microscopy. Different physico-chemical treatments were carried out on standardized cell samples, such as heat treatment, various centrifugation rates and storage in milk or in PBS pH 7.4 for three days. Cytometry gating strategy was developed by using blood cell samples stored at 4°C in PBS and milk cell samples heat-treated at 80°C for 30 min as a control for the maximum (95.9%) and minimum (0.7%) values of cell viability respectively. Cell viability in the initial samples was 39.5% for all cells and varied for each cell population from 26.7% for PMNs, to 32.6% for macrophages, and 58.3% for lymphocytes. Regarding the physico-chemical treatments applied, somatic cells did not sustain heat treatment at 60°C and 80°C in contrast to changes in centrifugation rates, for which only the higher level, i.e. 5000×g led to a cell viability decrease, down to 9.4%, but no significant changes within the cell subpopulation distribution were observed. Finally, the somatic cells were better preserved in milk after 72h storage, in particular PMNs, that maintained a viability of 34.0 ± 2.9% compared to 4.9±1.9% in PBS, while there was almost no changes for macrophages (41.7 ± 5.7% in milk vs 31.2 ± 2.4% in PBS) and lymphocytes (25.3 ± 3.0% in milk vs 11.4 ± 3.1% in PBS). This study provides a new array to better understand milk cell biology and to establish the relationship between the cell viability and the release of their endogenous enzymes in dairy matrix.  相似文献

Raising the day/night air temperatures from 30°C/20°C to 50°C/40°C increases the high temperature tolerated by Agave deserti, Carnegiea gigantea, and Ferocactus acanthodes by 6°C to 8°C; the increase is about half completed in 3 days and fully completed in 10 days. A 25 to 27 kilodalton protein concomitantly accumulates for all three desert succulents upon transfer to 50°C/40°C, while accumulation of other heat “heat-shock” proteins is species specific. Some of the induced proteins are more abundant at 3 days, while others (including the 25-27 kilodalton protein) remain after completion of high temperature acclimation.  相似文献
