About the Conference
8th International Conference on Mushroom Biology and Mushroom Products （ICMBMP8） is being organized to bring together scientists and other professionals with an interest in mushrooms and mushroom products, including those associated with economic, environmental and engineering issues. This will also be an opportunity to understand the growth of mushroom industry in India. The conference is being organized by World Society for Mushroom Biology and Mushroom products （WSMBMP）, Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan and Mushroom Society of India at NASC, New Delhi from 19-22 November 2014. 《SCI》源期刊昆虫学杂志简介

对于大多数昆虫学家乃至生物学家而言 ,比较熟悉的大型国际检索期刊当为美国《生物学文摘》(Biological Abstracts,BA)、英国《动物学记录》(Zoological Record,ZR)等 ,而对综合性检索期刊《SCI》了解较少。近年来 ,我国不少科研和教学单位刮起了《SCI》风 ,在晋职、评奖、立项时常常以《SCI》期刊源文章为重要的评价指标 ,而且 ,此风愈刮愈烈 ,大有漫卷全国之势。虽然不同的单位与个人对此现象有不同的看法 ,但多在国际上影响因子较高的期刊上发表文章 ,无疑会对提高我国的学术影响力起到积极作用。本文作者对有关昆虫学《SCI》期…

20世纪末,人们开始注意到动物行为研究在物种保护中的作用。然而,关于动物行为与物种保护的研究才刚刚开始,人们还不甚了解就地保护或者迁地保护动物时需要考虑的行为学因素。中国野生动物保护事业起步较晚,尤其缺少行为学理论与动物保护方面的研究和实践。

Journal of Genetics and Genomics （JGG, formerly known as Acta Genetica Sinica） is one of the China＇s leading journals in the life science. JGG is sponsored by the Genetics Society of China and the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and jointly published by Elsevier Ltd. and Sci- ence Press, Beijing, P. R. China. Currently, JGG is indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded （SCI-E）, Abstracts Journal, VINTI （AJ）, BIOSIS Previews （BA）, Chemical Abstracts （CA）, Excepta Media （EM）, MEDLINE, Scopus, and Zoological Record （ZR）. JGG publishes papers in English only and distributed internationally.

Guidelines for Authors

Scope Cell Research is an international journal publishing peer- reviewed original articles, invited reviews, commentaries, and letters to the editor. Original articles report significant original basic research that describe novel molecular and cellular processes and events and/or address the underlying biological mechanisms. Reviews and Commentaries review or comment on current progress in any field covered by the journal. Reviews are generally invited in advance by the editors. Letters to the editor report novel findings that have an immediate major impact on current biological research with only one figure and less than 10 references.     

A journey to a brighter future

It has been 15 years since Cell Research was launched in 1990. At that time, Chinese scientists rarely published their work in non-Chinese journals, and China did not have a major English journal of its own in life sciences. In a way, Cell Research was born at the right time, in the right place, and with the right kind of people guiding its development. The rise of Cell Research as China＇s leading journal publishing peer-reviewed articles in basic life sciences has paralleled the rapid development of the Chinese economy in general and the science and technology sector in particular over the same period. The current economic trend should allow even more rapid advances in the life sciences which will ensure a healthy growth of Cell Research in years to come. Thus, we are confident that Cell Research has a brighter future.

揭开南洋弗洛勒斯小矮人之谜

本刊上一期登载了“弗洛勒斯人——《指环王》中的霍比特族”一,介绍了2004年英国《自然》杂志报道的在印度尼西亚弗洛勒斯岛的良巴（LiangBua）洞2003年发现的大约18000年前的小矮人的化石以及其他科学家的一些评论和意见。这种小矮人身高1.06米,脑重380克,没有下巴颏,研究人员认为代表与我们现代人（学名：智人）不同的一个新物种,命名为弗洛勒斯人（Homo floresiensis）。
