本文报道了大连地区人体正常皮肤蠕形螨的生态分布。共检查551人,阳性153人,定居率为27.8%,检出毛囊螨和皮脂螨共两种。用透明胶带定量计数检查法,研究蠕形螨在面部的分布,结果表明蠕形螨主要分布于颏、鼻、颊和额部位。对10例阳性者,在面部检出毛囊螨和皮脂螨共85只,其中颏31、鼻26、颊17、额11只螨,总定居度为每条胶带(6cm~2)2.1只螨,定居度以颏部位为最高,鼻、颊、额次之。  相似文献

A young female tamarin (Saguinus geoffroyi) developed erythema, alopecia, and papule formation on the skin of the limbs, tail, and head. Examination of skin scrapings and a biopsy specimen revealed mites identified as Demodex sp. Histologically the mites were found in hair follicles, and they were associated with focal degenerative and inflammatory changes in the skin. Successful treatment included topical application of 1% ronnel solution and rotenone ointment.  相似文献

This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of Demodex mites in eyelashes of people from different places from Oaxaca. One thousand and ten patients underwent epilation of eight eyelashes from each eye and they were processed to search Demodex which was found in 208 (20%) of the patients and among them male was more affected than female, 119 (57%) and 89 (43%), respectively. There was not found a relationship between clinical manifestations among these patients since 101 (49%) and 107 (51%) of them were symptomatic and asymptomatic, respectively. The range of age that was more affected was 96-105 (100%), followed by 86-95 (75%) and 76-85 (64%) years old. The less affected were individuals of 15-25 years old (11%). Demodex folliculorum was relatively high in the eyelashes of individuals in young and old people in the rural region studied. These people are generally the most vulnerable patients because they live in overcrowded conditions and poor hygiene which facilitates the direct infection. Demodex brevis was found in only one sample.  相似文献

The perineal or perineal and facial skin were evaluated on 53 rhesus macaques as part of a necropsy protocol. Microscopic evaluation of H & E stained skin sections revealed 19 animals positive for Demodex spp. Mites were seen within all portions of the hair follicles. Infestation varied from minimal to severe. Mites were found in macaques of all ages and in both sexes. Reaction to the mites ranged from no reaction, to minimal follicular epidermal hyperplasia to furunculosis. Immune status of the animal did not determine infestation but immune compromised macaques had more severe lesions. This is the first known report of Demodex spp. in rhesus macaques.  相似文献

Infestation of deer with Demodex spp. mites has been described in white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) and in Columbian black-tailed deer (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus) in North America, as well as in four species of deer in Europe. We describe Demodex sp. infestation in an adult female mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus hemionus) with skin lesions found dead near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. This is believed to be the first report of demodicosis in mule deer.  相似文献

A modified KOH dissolution technique using Tween 80 has been developed for the diagnosis and quantitative evaluation of ectoparasitic mites and insects of veterinary importance. Fifty intact skin segments from ten different domestic animals were artificially inoculated in vitro with ten specimens each of the mitesSarcoptes scabiei, Chorioptes bovis, Psoroptes ovis andDemodex caprae and insectsHaematopinus eurysternus andBovicola bovis. Sixty-seven to 88% of the mites and 80–99% of the insects were recovered by this technique. Using this method, parasitic mites and insects were found and identified in all skin scrapings from ten naturally infested animals. Using Cook's dissolution technique in our experimental design, 63.4% ofC. bovis and 65% ofS. scabiei mites were recovered.  相似文献

The study for the first time attempted to accomplish 18S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) complete sequence amplification and analysis for three Demodex species (Demodex folliculorum, Demodex brevis and Demodex canis) based on gDNA extraction from individual mites. The mites were treated by DNA Release Additive and Hot Start II DNA Polymerase so as to promote mite disruption and increase PCR specificity. Determination of D. folliculorum gDNA showed that the gDNA yield reached the highest at 1 mite, tending to descend with the increase of mite number. The individual mite gDNA was successfully used for 18S rDNA fragment (about 900 bp) amplification examination. The alignments of 18S rDNA complete sequences of individual mite samples and those of pooled mite samples ( ≥ 1000mites/sample) showed over 97% identities for each species, indicating that the gDNA extracted from a single individual mite was as satisfactory as that from pooled mites for PCR amplification. Further pairwise sequence analyses showed that average divergence, genetic distance, transition/transversion or phylogenetic tree could not effectively identify the three Demodex species, largely due to the differentiation in the D. canis isolates. It can be concluded that the individual Demodex mite gDNA can satisfy the molecular study of Demodex. 18S rDNA complete sequence is suitable for interfamily identification in Cheyletoidea, but whether it is suitable for intrafamily identification cannot be confirmed until the ascertainment of the types of Demodex mites parasitizing in dogs.  相似文献

This study was conceived to detect skin mites in social mammals through real-time qPCR, and to estimate taxonomic Demodex and further Prostigmata mite relationships in different host species by comparing sequences from two genes: mitochondrial 16S rRNA and nuclear 18S rRNA. We determined the mite prevalence in the hair follicles of marmots (13%) and bats (17%). The high prevalence found in marmots and bats by sampling only one site on the body may indicate that mites are common inhabitants of their skin. Since we found three different mites (Neuchelacheles sp, Myobia sp and Penthaleus sp) in three bat species (Miotis yumanensis, Miotis californicus and Corynorhinus townsendii) and two different mites (both inferred to be members of the Prostigmata order) in one marmot species (Marmota flaviventris), we tentatively concluded that these skin mites 1) cannot be assigned to the same genus based only on a common host, and 2) seem to evolve according to the specific habitat and/or specific hair and sebaceous gland of the mammalian host. Moreover, two M. yumanensis bats harbored identical Neuchelacheles mites, indicating the possibility of interspecific cross-infection within a colony. However, some skin mites species are less restricted by host species than previously thought. Specifically, Demodex canis seems to be more transmissible across species than other skin mites. D. canis have been found mostly in dogs but also in cats and captive bats. In addition, we report the first case of D. canis infestation in a domestic ferret (Mustela putorius). All these mammalian hosts are related to human activities, and D. canis evolution may be a consequence of this relationship. The monophyletic Demodex clade showing closely related dog and human Demodex sequences also supports this likely hypothesis.  相似文献

We tested whether the early‐life environment can influence the extent of individual plasticity in a life‐history trait. We asked: can the early‐life environment explain why, in response to the same adult environmental cue, some individuals invest more than others in current reproduction? Moreover, can it additionally explain why investment in current reproduction trades off against survival in some individuals, but is positively correlated with survival in others? We addressed these questions using the burying beetle, which breeds on small carcasses and sometimes carries phoretic mites. These mites breed alongside the beetle, on the same resource, and are a key component of the beetle's early‐life environment. We exposed female beetles to mites twice during their lives: during their development as larvae and again as adults during their first reproductive event. We measured investment in current reproduction by quantifying average larval mass and recorded the female's life span after breeding to quantify survival. We found no effect of either developing or breeding alongside mites on female reproductive investment, nor on her life span, nor did developing alongside mites influence her size. In post hoc analyses, where we considered the effect of mite number (rather than their mere presence/absence) during the female's adult breeding event, we found that females invested more in current reproduction when exposed to greater mite densities during reproduction, but only if they had been exposed to mites during development as well. Otherwise, they invested less in larvae at greater mite densities. Furthermore, females that had developed with mites exhibited a trade‐off between investment in current reproduction and future survival, whereas these traits were positively correlated in females that had developed without mites. The early‐life environment thus generates individual variation in life‐history plasticity. We discuss whether this is because mites influence the resources available to developing young or serve as important environmental cues.  相似文献

During a period of 8 years 300 cases of dermatophytoses involving both hairy areas and the glabrous skin were found to be caused by M. canis. There was scalp involvement in 60%, including 8 infants and 27 adults; most of the adults presented Kerion-like lesions and presented various clinical aspects such as seborrhea capitis, folliculitis and discois lupus erythematosus. In the 21 patients showing invasion of the beard the clinical manifestations included superficial erythematosquamous patches with hyperemic slightly elevated margins, folliculitis or abscess-like lesions and Kerion-like lesions. Among the lesions found on the glabrous skin there were unusual aspects of tinea faciei in 19 adults, mimicking lymphocytic infiltration, granuloma faciale or discoid lupus erythematosus. Some of the cases of tinea corporis found in 70 patients also had lesions simulating various other dermatological entities, including erythema multiforme, psoriasiform eruption, pityriasis rosea and seborrheic dermatitis. The hands were invaded in 5 adults patients, with involvement of the finger nails in one. Repeated mycologic examinations were necessary to establish the true etiology in many of these cases.  相似文献

This survey was carried out to evaluate mites and moulds concentrations in the homes of patients with allergic manifestations and positive skin-test for mites and/or fungi. The home environments of 277 patients were evaluated by questionnaire, by sampling of airborne fungal spores and by determining the occurrence of mites and moulds in dust samples. Among the 277 patients examined, 83% reacted positively to house dust mites. The fungal allergen most frequently responsible for skin positivity was Alternaria tenuis. The prevalent airborne fungi were Cladosporium, Penicillium and Alternaria, followed by Aspergillus and Aureobasidium. The other genera were found in less than 50% of the homes. The presence of domestic mites in dust was documented in more than 85% of the homes sampled. The occurrence of fungi in dust was generally higher than in the air. The most common genera recovered were Penicillium, Candida, Aspergillus, Aureobasidium, Alternaria and Cladosporium. The homes investigated were divided into two groups, damp and dry, on the basis of the reported presence of wet or damp spots on inside surfaces and moulds growing inside the home. Our results showed that the concentration of mites and moulds in dust was significantly higher (p < 0.01) in damp homes as compared to dry ones.In general, a good agreement between skin positivity and presence of the same allergens in patients' home environment was observed for mites and, among fungi, for Alternaria, Cladosporium and Aspergillus. Our results seem to confirm that the study of mycoaeroflora and the quantification of mites and moulds in dust samples of allergic patients' homes could lead to more precise diagnoses and therefore to better prophylactic and therapeutic programs for each individual patient.  相似文献

【目的】探索人体毛囊蠕形螨和皮脂蠕形螨DNA的提取方法。【方法】采用液氮反复冻融研磨法破碎螨体细胞, 选用改良小昆虫DNA提取法、碱裂解法和试剂盒提取法, 分别提取冻存时间在5个月内和8~10个月的毛囊蠕形螨和皮脂蠕形螨基因组DNA, 并用随机引物PCR方法进行检测。【结果】蛋白核酸测定仪检测结果显示, 试剂盒法提取的DNA纯度较高、量较多, 明显优于改良小昆虫法和碱裂解法。随机引物扩增结果显示清晰的DNA指纹图谱, 两种人体蠕形螨DNA指纹具有明显差异。蠕形螨冻存时间影响DNA提取的量, 但对DNA提取的纯度和RAPD指纹图谱影响较小。不同DNA提取方法提取的同一种蠕形螨DNA指纹图谱基本相似, 试剂盒法和改良小昆虫法提取的DNA样本条带多而清晰, 碱裂解法提取的样本条带少而模糊。【结论】液氮反复冻融研磨法破碎蠕形螨细胞是有效的, 蠕形螨冻存时间不宜超过6个月, 试剂盒提取法是提取蠕形螨DNA的好方法。RAPD技术可以用于这两种人体蠕形螨DNA分子水平上的检测和分类。  相似文献

采用透明胶带粘贴过夜法获取2种人体蠕形螨,随机分组,观察不同浓度的薄荷油的杀虫效果,并在MoticDMB5图像采集软件系统下拍摄虫体在薄荷油作用下的虫体死亡过程。结果表明,薄荷油有很强的体外杀灭2种人体蠕形螨的作用,尤其对皮脂蠕形螨的杀灭作用显著。随着药物浓度的增加及作用时间的延长,蠕形螨死亡率增高。12.5%、3.125%分别是薄荷油体外杀灭毛囊蠕形螨和皮脂蠕形螨的最适杀螨浓度。薄荷油作用于蠕形螨,可见虫体收缩扭动,活动加剧,消化管剧烈收缩,毛囊蠕形螨和皮脂蠕形螨体壁均有渗出物外溢。虫体表现为兴奋—痉挛—失水—松弛—死亡的典型症状。薄荷油对人体蠕形螨的杀灭机制主要通过神经毒性和直接毒杀作用,造成虫体破裂脱水而死亡。薄荷油是一种极具开发潜能的高效的天然杀螨药。  相似文献

【目的】分析毛囊蠕形螨Demodex folliculorumD.f.)和皮脂蠕形螨D. brevisD.b.)基因组DNA的多态性, 对相关条带进行测序分析。【方法】采用改良小昆虫DNA提取法提取两种人体蠕形螨基因组DNA, 选择RAPD技术对其进行多态性分析, 将相关条带分别与pMD18-T载体连接, 克隆、测序后进行酶切鉴定和分析。【结果】毛囊蠕形螨共扩增15条带, 皮脂蠕形螨共扩增12条带;两种蠕形螨既有共有条带, 又有特异性条带;根据条带差异计算得到两种间的遗传距离为0.5556. 毛囊蠕形螨约800 bp处特异性条带测序结果显示, 序列片段长度为855 bp(GenBank登录号为FI277970);特异性引物扩增和酶切鉴定均为毛囊蠕形螨所特有. 序列比对显示与阿糖胞苷DNA区域结合蛋白有46%的序列相似度。两种人体蠕形螨约300 bp处共有条带序列分析显示, 碱基序列均为341 bp(GenBank登录号分别为D.f. FI520176;D.b. FI520175), 在第84和第165位点有2个碱基不同, 分别是A/G和C/T互换, 同源性高达99.4%. 但未发现有开放阅读框和相似度高的序列。 【结论】序列片段为855 bp的特异性条带为毛囊蠕形螨所特有;341 bp碱基序列为毛囊蠕形螨和皮脂蠕形螨所共有, 同源性高达99.4%. RAPD技术可用于两种人体蠕形螨基因组DNA的多态性分析和物种鉴定。  相似文献

1. Water mite parasitism is expected to have an important effect on damselfly survivorship and reproductive success, because mites drain considerable amounts of body fluids from their hosts. This study tests the effect of water mite parasitism in a marked population of the damselfly Ceriagrion tenellum during 1995 (individuals marked as mature adults) and 1996 (individuals marked as tenerals).
2. Almost all teneral individuals were parasitized (98%) and mites were aggregated strongly on some individuals. Parasite load increased during the season.
3. Parasites had no effect on the probability of recapture of hosts as mature adults. The average daily survival rate of lightly- and heavily-parasitized individuals, estimated with Jolly's stochastic method, did not differ significantly.
4. In 1995 parasites had a significant effect on host mating success. The probability of mating was about 25% lower for heavily-parasitized males than for lightly-parasitized males. Lightly-parasitized males also mated more times than heavily-parasitized males, even if heavily-parasitized males lived longer. In 1996, parasitism did not have an effect on male mating success. In both years mites had no effect on female lifetime mating success.
5. These results indicate that water mite parasitism does not reduce damselfly survivorship, but it could reduce male mating success in some circumstances. Further long-term studies are needed, especially in populations with a lower incidence of parasitism.  相似文献

Clofentezine was toxic to bulb mite, Rhizoglyphus echinopus (Fumouze and Robin), eggs and larvae; however, it was not toxic to adults alone or in the presence of piperonyl butoxide. When adults were exposed to radioactive clofentezine, the acaricide was absorbed, metabolized and excreted. After 48 h exposure, 49.8% of the recovered radiocarbon was parent compound with 37.1, 9.1 and 3.6% detected in the container rinse, mite rinse and internal fraction, respectively. Homogenates of adults extensively metabolized clofentezine. The most active fraction was the 12 000 g supernatant plus glutathione followed in decreasing order by the supernatant, supernatant plus NADPH and the whole homogenate, each of which metabolized at least 16% of the acaricide. In the presence of piperonyl butoxide, in vitro metabolism of clofentezine by each of these active fractions was increased approximately 10%. Although it is possible that rapid metabolism could have contributed to the lack of toxicity of clofentezine to bulb mite adults, it is more likely that another major mechanism was involved. Perhaps adult bulb mites lack the sensitive target found in immature mites.  相似文献

The broad mite Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks) and silverleaf whitefly Bemisia argentifolii Bellows & Perring (=B strain of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius)) have many common host plants. It was found that broad mites can attach themselves to B. argentifolii adults and use them as a carrier for their dispersal. In a cage experiment, we observed that more than 80% of B. argentifolii adults had more than one broad mite attached within 4 h after B. argentifolii landed on broad mite-infested plants. Overall, 97.5% of the broad mites examined were attached to the legs, mostly on the tibiae and tarsi of B. argentifolii adults, and 99.5% of the broad mites attached to B. argentifolii were adult females. The successful dispersal of broad mite via B. argentifolii was also demonstrated with a cage experiment.  相似文献

Transmission ofDemodex flagellurus Bukva, 1985 inhabiting the preputial and clitoral glands of the house mouse,Mus musculus L., was studied in mating experiments using pairs of infested, feralXmite-free, white laboratory mice. Spontaneous transfer of mites between sexually active hosts of the opposite sex, presumably through copulation, is reported for the first time for the hair-follicle mites under controlled conditions. Transfer of mites from host mother to her progeny was also proven. A comparatively low transmission effectiveness was observed in both modes of transmission, being 9.5% in adult-to-adult transmission and 14.8% in mother-to-young transmission.  相似文献

Laboratory colonies of the predatory mite Metaseiulus occidentalis in Gainesville, FL were found to be infected with an undescribed microsporidium. Experiments were performed to quantify the effect of infection on the fitness of M. occidentalis and to determine if heat treatment can cure mites of the microsporidium. The colonies tested were derived from an isofemale line so that differences in performance could be attributed to the presence of microsporidia. A subcolony of an uninfected isofemale line was infected with the microsporidium by feeding females infected eggs from another colony of M. occidentalis. Infected mites had a shorter mean (+/-SD) female life span (7.4 +/- 2.9 vs. 10.0 +/- 2.8 days), lower mean oviposition (1.6 +/- 0.7 vs. 2.2 +/- 0.4 eggs/day), and a male-biased sex ratio (43 +/- 16% vs. 57 +/- 15% female progeny). The infection was reduced temporarily in colonies initiated from mites that were reared in a growth chamber at 33 degrees C from egg to adult, but healthy colonies only were established from the progeny of the heat-treated adults. These colonies remained free of infection for 10 weeks.  相似文献

Diatomaceous earths (DEs) are very promising natural-origin pesticides against stored-product pests, but there is still inadequate information about the effect of DEs against stored-product mites. For this purpose, laboratory bioassays were conducted to assess the effects of DEs against the predatory mites Blattisocius keegani Fox (Mesostigmata, Ascidae) and Cheyletus malaccensis Oudemans (Prostigmata, Cheyletidae). Two DEs were used: SilicoSec, which contains 92% SiO2, and PyriSec which contains 95.7% SilicoSec, 1.2% natural pyrethrum and 3.1% piperonyl butoxide. As prey, eggs of Ephestia kuehniella Zeller (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) were used. The tests were conducted at three temperatures, 20, 25 and 30 °C, on wheat treated with DEs at two dose rates, 500 and 1000 ppm and mortality of mite individuals was measured after 7 days of exposure. For B. keegani, protonymphs were proved significantly less susceptible in comparison with adults, in most temperature/DE combinations examined. Also, for both DEs, significantly more B. keegani adults were dead at 30 °C than at the other two temperatures. C. malaccensis protonymphs were less susceptible than adults, for both DEs tested, with the exception of PyriSec at 30 °C. In the case of adults, in SilicoSec-treated wheat, significantly fewer individuals were dead at 30 °C in comparison with the other two temperatures, but this was reversed for PyriSec. The results of the present work indicate that both species are susceptible to the two DEs tested, but this susceptibility is highly determined by several factors such as formulation, dose rate and temperature.  相似文献
