蓝光对水稻幼苗可溶性蛋白积累的促进效应,在幼苗生长的初期比较明显;第5天,幼苗的可溶性蛋白质、蛋白氮、非蛋白氮以及Asp、Asn、Glu、Gln等游离氨基酸含量都远远高于白光或红光的处理。随着苗龄的增加,蓝光的促进作用减弱,到第17天,各项指标都低于白光处理的幼苗。红光处理的幼苗可溶性蛋白始终低于白光或蓝光的处理,其 Asn、Gln 两种酰胺含量在第10天以后明显高于同期的白光或蓝光的处理。  相似文献

The distributions and relative frequencies of insulin-, glucagon- and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were studied in dorsal, ventral, third and splenic lobes of developing chicken pancreas during embryonic periods (10 days of incubation to hatching) by immunohistochemical methods. The regions of pancreas were subdivided into three regions: exocrine, light and dark islet. Round, oval and spherical shaped immunoreactive cells were detected in all four lobes. According to developmental stages, the types of lobes and the regions of pancreas showed various distributions and relative frequencies. In the splenic lobes, insulin, glucagon and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were detected in exocrine, dark islet and light islet from time differentiation of splenic lobes, 13 days of incubation. The insulin- and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells of the third lobes were detected in exocrine and light islets from 10 days of incubation, and in dark islets from 15 and 11 days of incubation respectively. Glucagon-immunoreactive cells were detected in exocrine, dark and light islets from 16, 11 and 19 days of incubation respectively. These immunoreactive cells of the ventral lobes were detected in exocrine and light islets. However, dark islets were not found in this lobe. Insulin-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated from 10 days of incubation in these two regions. Glucagon-immunoreactive cells were detected from 17 days of incubation in exocrine and 16 days of incubation in the light islets. Somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated from 11 days of incubation in exocrine and 14 days of incubation in the light islets. In the dorsal lobes, insulin-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated in exocrine, dark and light islets from 12, 14, and 13 days of incubation, respectively. Glucagon- and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were detected in dark and light islets from 13 and 14 days of incubation, respectively. Glucagon- and somatostatin-immunoreactive cells were demonstrated from 10 and 11 days of incubation in exocrine respectively. Generally, insulin-immunoreactive cells were increased in light islets but decreased in light islets with developmental stages. However, glucagon-immunoreactive cells were decreased in light islets but increased in dark islets. In addition, somatostatin-immunoreactive cells showed the same frequencies in light and dark islets with developmental stages except exocrine which increased with developmental stages.  相似文献

Plectonema boryanum can grow in the dark with ribose, sucrose, mannitol, maltose, glucose, or fructose. Cell doubling times with 10 mM substrate are the following: 5 days with ribose, 6 days with sucrose or mannitol, 10 days with maltose, 12 days with glucose, and 13 days with fructose; with ribose plus 0.1% casamino acids it is 2.5 days. Dark-grown cells appear morphologically similar to light-grown cells. Cells grown in the dark for several years remain pigmented and resume photoautotrophic growth when placed in the light. Dim light (85 lux) increases the growth rate with ribose and with ribose plus casamino acids to nearlytwice that of the dark rate. In moderate light, growth takes place with ribose even in the presence of 1x10-5 M DCMU.  相似文献

Lighting conditions influence biological clocks. The present experiment was designed to test the presence of a critical window of days during the lactation stage of the rat in which light has a decisive role on the development of the circadian system. Rats were exposed to 4, 8, or 12 days of constant light (LL) during the first days of life. Their circadian rhythm was later studied under LL and constant darkness. The response to a light pulse was also examined. Results show that the greater the number of LL days during lactation, the stronger the rhythm under LL and the smaller the phase shift due to the light pulse. These responses are enhanced when rats are exposed to LL days around postnatal day 12. A mathematical model was built to explain the responses of the circadian system with respect to the timing of LL during lactation, and we deduced that between postnatal days 10 to 20 there is a critical period of sensitivity to light; consequently, exposure to LL during this time modifies the circadian organization of the motor activity.  相似文献

The development of amphibian sensory systems and behavior is generally considered to proceed normally without reference to sensory experience during embryonic or larval stages. Most of the supporting research, however, has concentrated on the retinotectal (visual) systems of anurans and has ignored behaviors directed by other sensory systems. We demonstrate that early exposure to light is necessary for the development of photopositive behavior in Xenopus laevis tadpoles, a behavior probably directed by the pineal complex. Light-deprivation during the tadpoles' first 10 days of development results in a long-lasting reduction in the tadpoles' light preference. The development of a strong light preference is not influenced by light-deprivation before the tadpoles are 2 days old or after the tadpoles are 10 days old, but light-deprived tadpoles recover a weak light preference after subsequent days of rearing in the light. Lengthening the tadpoles' exposure to light during the first 10 days of development produces increasingly strong light preferences. Considering the important role of the pineal complex in guiding phototactic behaviors in anurans, we suggest that light-deprivation alters photopositive behavior in Xenopus tadpoles by altering the development of the pineal complex.  相似文献

Penetration of light into the pregnant sheep uterus was studied in 9 ewes, gestational ages 40 to 142 days (term 147 days). Light sensors were placed inside the pregnant horn and over the flank skin overlying the position of the uterine horn. To perform the experiments, the ewes were placed in a study cage outdoors and light sensors were connected to a luxometer. Simultaneous measurements were obtained from the intrauterine and the external sensors in the shade at noon. The amount of light detected inside the uterus increased with gestational age from two lux at 40 days to 51.1±16.5 (n=5) lux at 142 days (0.2 and 5.4% of the amount of light detected at the maternal flank). Measurements through the 24 h were done in four pregnant ewes at 142 days gestation under natural photoperiod (13.5 light:10.5 dark). In these experiments, the intensity of intrauterine light changed through the 24 h, reflecting the changes in the intensity of the sunlight. Maximal intrauterine light values were observed at noon, corresponding to 4.7% of incident light. Small but detectable values were observed at 0900 and 1800 h. Our data show that, at mid gestation, light reaches the pregnant uterus and that, at late gestation, changes in intrauterine lighting throughout the 24 h are present reflecting the changes in external daylight. Therefore the sheep fetus is exposed to light–dark transitions at dawn and dusk, and to a peak of light at midday.  相似文献

采用黑暗摇瓶发酵和蓝光照射静置培养的两步培养法,进行蛹虫草(Cordyceps militaris L.)液体发酵产类胡萝卜素的蓝光诱导。结果表明蛹虫草在2d的黑暗培养和5d的蓝光照射静置培养后,其类胡萝卜素的含量可达到最高值558.4μg/gFW。而以黑暗摇瓶培养2d后,进行不同时间的蓝光照射静置培养。结果表明,蓝光照射最初2d,蛹虫草类胡萝卜素含量变化不明显,随后快速增加,并在第5天达到最大值558.4μg/gFW,随后类胡萝卜素的含量并无明显变化。通过研究解决了蛹虫草液体发酵产类胡萝卜素的培养过程中蓝光的给光问题。  相似文献

The oriental armyworm Mythimna separata is an agricultural insect pest in Eastern Asia. Mythimna separata moths have a high phototactic response to green (520 nm) light. The biological characteristics of insects living under light of a specific wavelength at night can change and, accordingly, Juvenile hormone (JH) levels may be influenced by this light. The present study evaluates changes in the total JH levels at different developmental stages (larvae, pupae and adults) of M. separata reared under green light with different exposure periods at night (or dark period). The results show that, when the exposure time per day of the green light at night is extended, the JH levels in the final‐instar larvae (22 days) and older age pupae (8 days) are significantly reduced, and the JH levels in earlier age pupae (4 days) and adults (3, 6 and 9 days) are significantly increased, compared with groups not exposed to green light. Additionally, the JH level of male moths significantly differs from that of the female moths. We suggest that the JH level of M. separata insects could be regulated by the green light at night (or dark period). The findings of the present study will help to explain the relationship between the light environment and biological characteristics in nocturnal moths.  相似文献

Summary The cross-sectional area of rhabdomeres in the compound eye of the blowfly, Lucilia, was found to remain constant under 12 h light/12 h dark cyclic lighting, and 10 days constant light or darkness. It was reduced only slightly during 3 h light after 10 days darkness (by 21%), or on exposure to 2h darkness + 1.5 h light after 10 days light (by 10%). Morphological evidence indicates that shedding of photoreceptor membrane during turnover is achieved by an extracellular route, and by pinocytosis from the bases of the microvilli. The photoreceptor membrane shed by both mechanisms appears to accumulate in multivesicular bodies. The amount of photoreceptor membrane shedding, as indicated by numbers of multivesicular bodies, is constant throughout the day and night on cyclic lighting, decreases in constant darkness, but returns to its normal level after an exposure to 3 h light subsequent to 10 days darkness.  相似文献

Kerodon rupestris, a Brazilian caviidae rodent, lives in dry stony places. In a first experiment, seven animals were kept in LD (250:0 lux and 400:0 lux) during 40 days in each condition. In the second, four animals were kept in LD (470 lux: red dim light) for 47 days, then in LL (470 lux) for 18 days and in DD (red dim light) for 23 days. Motor activity was continuously recorded by infrared sensors. Animals showed entrained rhythms to the LD cycle being light and dark active, with higher values in phase transitions. When the light intensity was increased, four animals increased and two reduced the activity. In LL, three animals expressed an endogenous tau of 24.4, 26.5 and 24.6 h and one was arrhythmic; in DD, two expressed tau of 23.6 and 23.7 h and one was arrhythmic. Results indicate that Kerodon rupestris circadian rhythm is affected by light intensity but it is not yet possible to determine its habit.  相似文献

Algae biofilms were grown in a semicontinuous flat plate biofilm photobioreactor to study the effects of light direction and suspended algal cell populations on algal biofilm growth. It was determined that, under the growth conditions and biofilm thicknesses studied, light direction had no effect on long-term algal biofilm growth (26 days); however, light direction did affect the concentration of suspended algal cells by influencing the photon flux density in the growth medium in the photobioreactors. This suspended algal cell population affected short-term (7 days) algae cell recruitment and algal biofilm growth, but additional studies showed that enhanced suspended algal cell populations did not affect biofilm growth rates over the long term (26 days). Studying profiles of light transmittance through biofilms as they grew showed that most of the light became attenuated by the biomass after just a few days of growth (88 % after 3 days). The estimated biofilm thicknesses after these few days of growth were approximately 150 μm. The light attenuation data suggests that, although the biofilms grew to 700–900 μm, under these light intensities, only the first few hundred micrometers of the biofilm is receiving enough light to be photosynthetically active. We postulate that this photosynthetically active layer of the biofilm grows adjacent to the light source, while the rest of the biofilm is in a stationary growth phase. The results of this study have implications for algal biofilm photobioreactor design and operation.  相似文献

Pea seedlings grown for 5 days in the dark were treated with red light for 5 min and grown for 2 more days in the dark. Effects of the red light on chloroplast DNA levels in the pea leaves were examined using probe DNA of the chloroplast-coded large subunit and nuclear-coded small subunit of ribulosebisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase. The gene dosage of the large subunit, but not of the small subunit, was increased by red light. The increase was inhibited by subsequent far-red light treatment. These results indicate that accumulation of chloroplast DNA in the cell is mediated by phytochrome. Probably the replication of chloroplast DNA is mediated by phytochrome.  相似文献

对核桃楸、水曲柳、黄波罗、紫椴和白桦的光合生理生态特性研究表明,随着幼叶成长、叶绿素含量的增加,各树种光合能力与硝酸还原酶活力也增加.晴天,白桦与水曲柳光合曲线呈双峰,其余3树种呈单峰,阴雨数日转睛后,白桦与水曲柳光合曲线呈单峰,其余3树种呈双峰;阴天,5个树种光合曲线均与光照曲线相似.幼叶成长过程中硝酸还原酶活力与光合速率呈正相关;各树种的光合速率除受光的影响外,空气相对湿度是光能利用的限制因子.  相似文献

Castrate rams and ovariectomized ewes were maintained in the presence of entire rams and ewes and subjected to successive periods of alternating 6 h light:18 h darkness ('short' days) and 18 h light:6 h darkness ('long' days) preceded by a period of 12 h light:12 h darkness ('constant' light days). Plasma concentrations of LH and prolactin were measured in the castrate animals in order to determine how LH and prolactin secretion responded to the artificial light regime and corresponding periods of elevated or depressed testicular and ovarian activity in the entire rams and ewes. There was no variation in mean plasma LH concentrations or LH pulse frequency with either the changes in photoperiod or the phases of gonadal activity in the entire animals. However, there was a highly significant (P less than 0.001) relationship between prolactin secretion and the artificial photoperiod in both castrate groups with high and low levels coinciding with long and short days respectively. In addition, there was a marginally significant (P less than 0.1) relationship between prolactin secretion in the castrate ram and the stage of testicular activity in the entire rams with elevated levels associated with regressed activity. Prolactin secretion in the ovariectomized ewes was significantly (P less than 0.05) related to the phase of ovarian development with high levels associated with acyclic activity. It is concluded that LH secretion and pituitary responsiveness to exogenous GnRH were not modified by the artificial light regime. However, the changing light pattern was physiologically 'perceived' by the castrate animals as indicted by a concomitant variation in plasma prolactin concentrations.  相似文献

Chicks are bipedal precocious vertebrates that achieve adaptive locomotor skill within hours after hatching. Development of limb movement has been extensively studied in the chicken embryo, but few studies have focused on the preparations leading to precocious locomotor skill. Chicks typically hatch after 21 days of incubation, and recent studies provided evidence that the neural circuits for intralimb control of stepping are established between embryonic days (E) 18–20. It has also been shown that variations in light exposure during embryogenesis can accelerate or delay the onset of hatching and walking by 1 to 2 days. Our earlier work revealed that despite these differences in time to hatch, chicks incubated in different light conditions achieved similar locomotor skill on the day of hatching. Results suggested to us that light exposure during incubation may have accelerated development of locomotor circuits in register with earlier hatching. Thus, in this study, embryos were incubated in 1 of 3 light conditions to determine if development of interlimb coordination at a common time point, 19 days of incubation, varied with light exposure during embryogenesis. Leg muscle activity was recorded bilaterally and burst analyses were performed for sequences of spontaneous locomotor-related activity in one or more ankle muscles to quantify the extent of interlimb coordination in ovo. We report findings indicating that the extent of interlimb coordination varied with light exposure, and left-right alternating steps were a more reliable attribute of interlimb coordination for embryos incubated in constant bright light. We provide evidence that morphological development of the leg varied with light exposure. Based on these findings, we propose that light can accelerate the development of interlimb coordination in register with earlier hatching. Our results lead us to further propose that alternating left-right stepping is the default pattern of interlimb coordination produced by locomotor circuits during embryogenesis.  相似文献

Mink are seasonal photosensitive breeders; testis activity is triggered when days have less than 10 h light. Increasing and decreasing plasma concentrations of prolactin induce the spring and autumn moults. In a 5 year experiment, males were maintained under short days (8 h light:16 h dark) at 13 degrees C or long days (16 h light:8 h dark) at 21 degrees C, winter and summer conditions, respectively. Under winter and summer conditions, circannual cycles of prolactin secretion and moulting were observed at intervals of about 11 months. Recurrence of testis cycles was not evident. In a second experiment, males were maintained under an 8 h light:16 h dark cycle from the winter solstice or under 10 h light:14 h dark, 12 h light:12 h dark or 14 h light:10 h dark cycles from 10 February. Under 8 h light:16 h dark cycle, testis regression was slightly later than under natural conditions, indicating photorefractoriness. However, mink remained sensitive to light: the longer the photoperiod, the faster the testis regression. In a third experiment, males were transferred under 8 h light:16 h dark or 16 h light:8 h dark from 15 May (group 1), 12 June (group 2) or 4 July (group 3); males submitted to long days received melatonin capsules on the day of transfer. Increasing concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) and testis volume were shown by half the males in group 2 and nearly all the males in group 3; the constant release of melatonin from implants was more efficient than short days; but in the three groups, prolactin concentrations decreased in the few days after short-day or melatonin treatment. Overall, the results demonstrate endogenous circannual rhythms of prolactin secretion, body weight and moulting. Although a refractory period to short days was observed, the annual cycle of testis activity totally relies on the annual changes in daylength.  相似文献

The effect of red and far-red treatment on chlorophyll synthesis in dark-grown bean leaves was studied at various ages. Although the effect was pronounced in the old leaves, no effect was observed in the young ones (4 days old). In the 5-day old leaves a measurable effect of red light pretreatment can be observed, whereas the far-red reversal effect was not observed. — The length of the dark period between the red pretreatment and the continuous illumination is also age dependent. Leaves older than 6 days show a maximum at about six hours, while in the young leaves the red light effect increases with the time of dark incubation up to the 24 hours tested. — The reversal effect of far-red light on protochlorophyllide regeneration was also examined. The far-red light has no reversal effect on leaves younger than 6 days old, while on the old leaves it has such an effect.  相似文献

Exploitation of photosynthetic cells for the production of useful metabolites requires efficient photobioreactors. Many laboratory scale photobioreactors have been reported but most of them are extremely difficult to scale up. Furthermore, the use of open ponds and outdoor tubular photobioreactors is limited by the requirement for large spaces and the difficulty in maintaining sterile conditions. In view of this, we have designed and constructed an internally illuminated stirred tank photobioreactor. The photobioreactor is simple, heat sterilizable and mechanically agitated like the conventional stirred tank bioreactors. Furthermore, it can easily be scaled up while maintaining the light supply coefficient and thus the productivity constant. A device was installed for collecting solar light and distributing it inside the reactor through optical fibers. It was equipped with a light tracking sensor so that the lenses rotate with the position of the sun. This makes it possible to use solar light for photosynthetic cell cultivation in indoor photobioreactors. As a solution to the problems of night biomass loss and low productivity on cloudy days, an artificial light source was coupled with the solar light collecting device. A light intensity sensor monitors the solar light intensity and the artificial light is automatically switched on or off, depending on the solar light intensity. In this way, continuous light supply to the reactor is achieved by using solar light during sunny period, and artificial light at night and on cloudy days.  相似文献

The appearance of a diurnal rhythm in serotonin content in the rat epiphysis is suppressed by rearing the young in constant light from birth. If the young are put from constant light into constant darkness at age 20 days, by age 30 days there is a marked rhythm in the content of pineal serotonin. It would appear that this rhythm is inborn, since it appears even after an initial suppression without the intervention of an external synchroniser. Fifty-eight-day-old males, maintained in constant light from 21 to 11 days before killing, and then in constant darkness, showed a normal diurnal rhythm in epiphysial serotonin content.  相似文献
