Four cocoa-specific acetic acid bacterium (AAB) strains, namely, Acetobacter pasteurianus 386B, Acetobacter ghanensis LMG 23848T, Acetobacter fabarum LMG 24244T, and Acetobacter senegalensis 108B, were analyzed kinetically and metabolically during monoculture laboratory fermentations. A cocoa pulp simulation medium (CPSM) for AAB, containing ethanol, lactic acid, and mannitol, was used. All AAB strains differed in their ethanol and lactic acid oxidation kinetics, whereby only A. pasteurianus 386B performed a fast oxidation of ethanol and lactic acid into acetic acid and acetoin, respectively. Only A. pasteurianus 386B and A. ghanensis LMG 23848T oxidized mannitol into fructose. Coculture fermentations with A. pasteurianus 386B or A. ghanensis LMG 23848T and Lactobacillus fermentum 222 in CPSM for lactic acid bacteria (LAB) containing glucose, fructose, and citric acid revealed oxidation of lactic acid produced by the LAB strain into acetic acid and acetoin that was faster in the case of A. pasteurianus 386B. A triculture fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae H5S5K23, L. fermentum 222, and A. pasteurianus 386B, using CPSM for LAB, showed oxidation of ethanol and lactic acid produced by the yeast and LAB strain, respectively, into acetic acid and acetoin. Hence, acetic acid and acetoin are the major end metabolites of cocoa bean fermentation. All data highlight that A. pasteurianus 386B displayed beneficial functional roles to be used as a starter culture, namely, a fast oxidation of ethanol and lactic acid, and that these metabolites play a key role as substrates for A. pasteurianus in its indispensable cross-feeding interactions with yeast and LAB during cocoa bean fermentation.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the functional properties of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from Tibetan kefir grains. Three Lactobacillus isolates identified as Lactobacillus acidophilus LA15, Lactobacillus plantarum B23 and Lactobacillus kefiri D17 that showed resistance to acid and bile salts were selected for further evaluation of their probiotic properties. The 3 selected strains expressed high in vitro adherence to Caco-2 cells. They were sensitive to gentamicin, erythromycin and chloramphenicol and resistant to vancomycin with MIC values of 26 µg/ml. All 3 strains showed potential bile salt hydrolase (BSH) activity, cholesterol assimilation and cholesterol co-precipitation ability. Additionally, the potential effect of these strains on plasma cholesterol levels was evaluated in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Rats in 4 treatment groups were fed the following experimental diets for 4 weeks: a high-cholesterol diet, a high-cholesterol diet plus LA15, a high-cholesterol diet plus B23 or a high-cholesterol diet plus D17. The total cholesterol, triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in the serum were significantly (P<0.05) decreased in the LAB-treated rats compared with rats fed a high-cholesterol diet without LAB supplementation. The high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels in groups B23 and D17 were significantly (P<0.05) higher than those in the control and LA15 groups. Additionally, both fecal cholesterol and bile acid levels were significantly (P<0.05) increased after LAB administration. Fecal lactobacilli counts were significantly (P<0.05) higher in the LAB treatment groups than in the control groups. Furthermore, the 3 strains were detected in the rat small intestine, colon and feces during the feeding trial. The bacteria levels remained high even after the LAB administration had been stopped for 2 weeks. These results suggest that these strains may be used in the future as probiotic starter cultures for manufacturing novel fermented foods.  相似文献

The antifungal activity of bacterial strains Bacillus subtilis EF 617317 and B. licheniformis EF 617325 was demonstrated against sapstaining fungal cultures Ophiostoma flexuosum, O. tetropii, O. polonicum, and O. ips in both in vitro and in vivo conditions. The crude active supernatant fractions of 7 days old B. subtilis and B. licheniformis cultures inhibited the growth of sapstaining fungi in laboratory experiments. Thermostability and pH stability of crude supernatants were determined by series of experiments. FT-IR analysis was performed to confirm the surface structural groups of lipoproteins present in the crude active supernatant. Partial purification of lipopeptides present in the crude supernatant was done by using Cellulose anion exchange chromatography and followed by Sephadex gel filtration chromatography. Partially purified compounds significantly inhibited the sapstaining fungal growth by in vitro analysis. The lipopeptides responsible for antifungal activity were identified by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry after partial purification by ion exchange and gel filtration chromatography. Four major ion peaks were identified as m/z 1023, 1038, 1060, and 1081 in B. licheniformis and 3 major ion peaks were identified as m/z 1036, 1058, and 1090 in B. subtilis. In conclusion, the partially purified lipopeptides may belong to surfactin and iturin family. In vivo analysis for antifungal activity of lipopeptides on wood was conducted in laboratory. In addition, the potential of extracts for fungal inhibition on surface and internal part of wood samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy.  相似文献

In this work, the antibacterial activity of the lipopeptides produced by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens M1 was examined against multidrug-resistant Vibrio spp. and Shewanella aquimarina isolated from diseased marine animals. A new and cheap medium which contained 1.0 % soybean powder, 1.5 % wheat flour, pH 7.0 was developed. A crude surfactant concentration of 0.28 mg/ml was obtained after 18 h of 10-l fermentation and diameter of the clear zone on the plate seeded with Vibrio anguillarum was 34 mm. A preliminary characterization suggested that the lipopeptide N3 produced by B. amyloliquefaciens M1 was the main product and contained the surfactin isoforms with amino acids (GLLVDLL) and hydroxy fatty acids (of 12–15 carbons in length). The evaluation of the antibacterial activity of the lipopeptide N3 was carried out against S. aquimarina and nine species of Vibrio spp.. It was found that all the Vibrio spp. and S. aquimarina showed resistance to several different antibiotics, suggesting that they were the multidrug resistance. It was also indicated that all the Vibrio spp. strains and S. aquimarina were sensitive to the surfactin N3, in particular V. anguillarum. The results demonstrated that the lipopeptides produced by B. amyloliquefaciens M1 had a broad spectrum of action, including antibacterial activity against the pathogenic Vibrio spp. with multidrug-resistant profiles. After the treatment with the lipopeptide N3, the cell membrane of V. anguillarum was damaged, and the whole cells of the bacterium were disrupted.  相似文献

Bacillus cereus ATCC 14579 can respond to nutrient changes by adopting different forms of surface translocation. The B. cereus ATCC 14579 ΔplcR mutant, but not the wild type, formed dendritic (branched) patterns on EPS [a low-nutrient medium that contains 7.0 g K2HPO4, 3.0 g KH2PO4, 0.1 g MgSO4·7H2O, 0.1 g (NH4)2SO4, 0.01 g CaCl2, 0.001 g FeSO4, 0.1 g NaCl, 1.0 g glucose, and 125 mg yeast extract per liter] containing 0.7% agar. The dendritic patterns formed by sliding translocation of nonflagellated cells are enhanced under low-nutrient conditions and require sufficient production of a biosurfactant, which appears to be repressed by PlcR. The wild-type and complemented strains failed to slide on the surface of EPS agar because of the production of low levels of biosurfactant. Precoating EPS agar surfaces with surfactin (a biosurfactant produced by Bacillus subtilis) or biosurfactant purified from the ΔplcR mutant rescued the ability of the wild-type and complemented strains to slide. When grown on a nutrient-rich medium like Luria-Bertani agar, both the wild-type and ΔplcR mutant strains produced flagella. The wild type was hyperflagellated and elongated and exhibited swarming behavior, while the ΔplcR mutant was multiflagellated and the cells often formed long chains but did not swarm. Thin-layer chromatography and mass spectrometry analyses suggested that the biosurfactant purified from the ΔplcR mutant was a lipopeptide and had a mass of 1,278.1722 (m/z). This biosurfactant has hemolytic activity and inhibited the growth of several gram-positive bacteria.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to isolate bacteria that are resistant to the strong antimicrobial metabolites characteristic of Aplysina aerophoba. For this purpose, bacterial isolation was performed on agar plates to which sponge tissue extract had been added. Following screening for antifungal and antimicrobial activities, 5 strains were chosen for more detailed analyses. 16S ribosomal DNA sequencing revealed that all isolates belonged to the genus Bacillus, specifically B. subtilis and B. pumilus. Using a combination of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization mass spectrometry typing of whole cells and antimicrobial bioassays against selected reference strains, the bioactive metabolites were identified as lipopeptides.  相似文献

Five potentially probiotic canine fecal lactic acid bacterium (LAB) strains, Lactobacillus fermentum LAB8, Lactobacillus salivarius LAB9, Weissella confusa LAB10, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LAB11, and Lactobacillus mucosae LAB12, were fed to five permanently fistulated beagles for 7 days. The survival of the strains and their potential effects on the indigenous intestinal LAB microbiota were monitored for 17 days. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) demonstrated that the five fed LAB strains survived in the upper gastrointestinal tract and modified the dominant preexisting indigenous jejunal LAB microbiota of the dogs. When the LAB supplementation was ceased, DGGE analysis of jejunal chyme showed that all the fed LAB strains were undetectable after 7 days. However, the diversity of the intestinal indigenous microbiota of the dogs, as characterized from jejunal chyme plated on Lactobacillus selective medium without acetic acid, was reduced and did not return to the original level during the study period. In all but one dog, an indigenous Lactobacillus acidophilus strain emerged as the dominant LAB strain. In conclusion, strains LAB8 to LAB12 have potential as probiotic strains for dogs as they survive in and dominate the jejunal LAB microbiota during feeding and have the ability to modify the intestinal microbiota.  相似文献

Aims

To characterize fungal antagonistic bacilli isolated from aerial roots of banyan tree and identify the metabolites responsible for their antifungal activity.

Methods and Results

Seven gram positive, endospore‐forming, rod‐shaped endophytic bacterial strains exhibiting a broad‐spectrum antifungal activity were isolated from the surface‐sterilized aerial roots of banyan tree. The isolates designated as K1, A2, A4 and A12 were identified as Bacillus subtilis, whereas isolates A11 and A13 were identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens using Biolog Microbial Identification System. The antifungal lipopeptides, surfactins, iturins and fengycins with masses varying in the range from m/z 900 to m/z 1550 could be detected using intact‐cell MALDI‐TOF mass spectrometry (ICMS). On the basis of mass spectral and carbon source utilization profile, all seven endophytes could be distinguished from each other. Furthermore, ICMS analysis revealed higher extent of heterogeneity among iturins and fengycins produced by B. subtilis K1, correlating well with its higher antifungal activity in comparison with other isolates.

Conclusion

Seven fungal antagonistic bacilli were isolated from aerial roots of banyan tree, exhibiting broad spectrum of antifungal activity, among which B. subtilis K1 isolate was found to be most potent. The ICMS analysis revealed that all these isolates produced cyclic lipopeptides belonging to surfactin, iturin and fengycin families and exhibited varying degree of heterogeneity.

Significance and Impact of the study

The endophytes are considered as a potential source of novel bioactive metabolites, and this study describes the potent fungal antagonistic bacilli from aerial roots of banyan tree. The isolates described in this study have a prospective application as biocontrol agents. Also ICMS analysis described in this study for characterization of antifungal metabolites produced by banyan endophytic bacilli may be used as a high throughput tool for screening of microbes producing novel cyclic lipopeptides.  相似文献

Bacillus strains are extensively studied for their beneficial role in plant growth and biological control of tomato bacterial wilt (TBW), however their underlying mechanisms remained unexplored. In this study, four rhizobacterial strains, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D29, B. amyloliquefaciens Am1, B. subtilis D16 and B. methylotrophicus H8 were investigated for their antibacterial activity against (TBW) pathogen and their ability to stimulate Tomato growth. Results revealed that all four strains were able to form robust biofilm, produce Indole acetic acid (IAA) and siderophores, while only D29, Am1 and H8 have capability to solubilize phosphate. The culture filtrate of each strain significantly suppressed the growth and biofilm of Ralstonia solanacearum, where, the cell wall was severely disrupted, which resulted into cell lysis and subsequent leakage of intracellular cytosolic contents. PCR analysis revealed that all four strains are harboring the antimicrobial associated genes for biosynthesis of Bacyllomicin, Fengycin, Iturin, Surfactin and Bacylisin. Subsequent real-time qPCR analysis revealed that the expression of ituC and srfAA genes in Am1 and D16 was remarkably up-regulated during in vitro interaction with R. solanacearum. This suggest that the potential antibacterial and anti-biofilm related mechanisms are associated to their ability to secret the corresponding lipopeptides in surrounding niche. In greenhouse, a positive correlation (0.777 and 0.686) was noted between the IAA amount produced by Bacillus strains and fresh/dry weight of bacterized tomato plants. This the first report demonstrated the mode of antibacterial effect of Bacillus strains against R. solanacearum, moreover this study will help in understanding the mode of action of Bacillus strains during biological management of TBW and promoting the growth of tomato plants.  相似文献

Marine Bacillus circulans DMS-2 (MTCC 8281) was found to produce lipopeptides, which reduced the surface tension of the medium from 69 to 28 mNm−1. The methanol extracts of the lipopeptides were resolved in RP-HPLC, which resulted in the presence of two major surface active fractions corresponding to the peaks E and F were eluted at the retention times of 16.8 and 18 min, respectively. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight (MALDI-ToF) mass spectral analysis showed that the produced lipopeptides belonged to surfactin family. In the MALDI-ToF spectrum, the major molecular mass of the HPLC purified isoforms were identified at m/z 1,044 and 1,058 Da, respectively. In addition, this marine strain also produced new variants of surfactins with molecular weights ranging from m/z 1,066 to 1,098 Da, which have not been reported earlier. Both surface-active fractions were found to have potent antimicrobial activity against the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains.  相似文献

Bacterial contamination during industrial yeast fermentation has serious economic consequences for fuel ethanol producers. In addition to deviating carbon away from ethanol formation, bacterial cells and their metabolites often have a detrimental effect on yeast fermentative performance. The bacterial contaminants are commonly lactic acid bacteria (LAB), comprising both homo- and heterofermentative strains. We have studied the effects of these two different types of bacteria upon yeast fermentative performance, particularly in connection with sugarcane-based fuel ethanol fermentation process. Homofermentative Lactobacillus plantarum was found to be more detrimental to an industrial yeast strain (Saccharomyces cerevisiae CAT-1), when compared with heterofermentative Lactobacillus fermentum, in terms of reduced yeast viability and ethanol formation, presumably due to the higher titres of lactic acid in the growth medium. These effects were only noticed when bacteria and yeast were inoculated in equal cell numbers. However, when simulating industrial fuel ethanol conditions, as conducted in Brazil where high yeast cell densities and short fermentation time prevail, the heterofermentative strain was more deleterious than the homofermentative type, causing lower ethanol yield and out competing yeast cells during cell recycle. Yeast overproduction of glycerol was noticed only in the presence of the heterofermentative bacterium. Since the heterofermentative bacterium was shown to be more deleterious to yeast cells than the homofermentative strain, we believe our findings could stimulate the search for more strain-specific antimicrobial agents to treat bacterial contaminations during industrial ethanol fermentation.  相似文献

The spread of drug-resistant bacteria has imparted a sense of urgency in the search for new antibiotics. In an effort to develop a new generation of antibacterial agents, we have designed de novo charged lipopeptides inspired by natural antimicrobial peptides. These short lipopeptides are composed of cationic lysine and hydrophobic lipoamino acids that replicate the amphiphilic properties of natural antimicrobial peptides. The resultant lipopeptides were found to self-assemble into nanoparticles. Some were effective against a variety of Gram-positive bacteria, including strains resistant to methicillin, daptomycin and/or vancomycin. The lipopeptides were not toxic to human kidney and liver cell lines and were highly resistant to tryptic degradation. Transmission electron microscopy analysis of bacteria cells treated with lipopeptide showed membrane-damage and lysis with extrusion of cytosolic contents. With such properties in mind, these lipopeptides have the potential to be developed as new antibacterial agents against drug-resistant Gram-positive bacteria.  相似文献

Ninety-two strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were isolated from a Malaysian food ingredient, chili bo, stored for up to 25 days at 28°C with no benzoic acid (product A) or with 7,000 mg of benzoic acid kg−1 (product B). The strains were divided into eight groups by traditional phenotypic tests. A total of 43 strains were selected for comparison of their sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) whole-cell protein patterns with a SDS-PAGE database of LAB. Isolates from product A were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus farciminis, Pediococcus acidilactici, Enterococcus faecalis, and Weissella confusa. Five strains belonging to clusters which could not be allocated to existing species by SDS-PAGE were further identified by 16S rRNA sequence comparison. One strain was distantly related to the Lactobacillus casei/Pediococcus group. Two strains were related to Weissella at the genus or species level. Two other strains did not belong to any previously described 16S rRNA group of LAB and occupied an intermediate position between the L. casei/Pediococcus group and the Weissella group and species of Carnobacterium. The latter two strains belong to the cluster of LAB that predominated in product B. The incidence of new species and subspecies of LAB in chili bo indicate the high probability of isolation of new LAB from certain Southeast Asian foods. None of the isolates exhibited bacteriocin activity against L. plantarum ATCC 14917 and LMG 17682.  相似文献

Background

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have been considered as potentially probiotic organisms due to their potential human health properties. This study aimed to evaluate both in vitro and in vivo, the potential probiotic properties of Lactobacillus species isolated from fecal samples of healthy humans in Iran.

Methods and Results

A total of 470 LAB were initially isolated from 53 healthy individual and characterized to species level. Of these, 88 (86%) were Lactobacillus species. Biochemical and genetic fingerprinting with Phene-Plate system (PhP-LB) and RAPD-PCR showed that the isolates were highly diverse consisted of 67(76.1%) and 75 (85.2%) single types (STs) and a diversity indices of 0.994 and 0.997, respectively. These strains were tested for production of adhesion to Caco-2 cells, antibacterial activity, production of B12, anti-proliferative effect and interleukin-8 induction on gut epithelial cell lines and antibiotic resistance against 9 commonly used antibiotics. Strains showing the characteristics consistent with probiotic strains, were further tested for their anti-inflammatory effect in mouse colitis model. Only one L. brevis; one L. rhamnosus and two L. plantarum were shown to have significant probiotic properties. These strains showed shortening the length of colon compared to dextran sulfate sodium and disease activity index (DAI) was also significantly reduced in mouse.

Conclusion

Low number of LAB with potential probiotic activity as well as high diversity of lactobacilli species was evident in Iranian population. It also suggest that specific strains of L. plantarum, L. brevis and L. rhamnosus with anti-inflammatory effect in mouse model of colitis could be used as a potential probiotic candidate in inflammatory bowel disease to decrease the disease activity index.  相似文献

High-performance liquid chromatography with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry was used to determine 11-nor-Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THC-COOH) in urine. After basic hydrolysis of conjugates, the compound was extracted using SPEC-PLUS-3ML-C18 solid-phase extraction columns. A deuterium labelled internal standard (d3-THC-COOH) was added prior to hydrolysis. Separation was performed on a reversed-phase Zorbax Eclipse XDB-C8 analytical column (150×3.0 mm I.D.) using a gradient program from 60 to 80% acetonitrile (4 mM formic acid) at a flow-rate of 0.5 ml/min. The compounds were detected by single ion monitoring of m/z 345 and m/z 348 for the protonated molecules [THC-COOH+H]+ and [d3-THC-COOH+H]+, respectively. The precision and accuracy were tested on spiked urine samples in the range 2.5–125 ng/ml. The mean recovery was 95% (n=58), coefficients of variations were 2.2–4.3% and the limit of detection 2 ng/ml. Diagnostic qualifying ions of THC-COOH (m/z 327 and m/z 299) and d3-THC-COOH (m/z 330) were generated using up-front collision-induced dissociation. The relative ion intensities in clinical samples (n=21) were within ±20% deviation compared with standards. Using this tolerance and the presence of the ions m/z 327 and m/z 299 at the correct retention times as the acceptance criteria for identification of THC-COOH positive samples, the limit of detection was 15 ng/ml. The LC–MS method complies with the current recommendations on drugs of abuse testing, in which mass spectrometric detection is emphasized.  相似文献

The antibacterial effects of nine lactic acid bacteria (LAB) against Campylobacter jejuni were investigated by using agar gel diffusion and co-culture assays. Some differences were recorded between the inhibition effects measured with these two methods. Only two LAB, Lb. pentosus CWBI B78 and E. faecium THT, exhibited a clear anti- Campylobacter activity in co-culture assay with dehydrated poultry excreta mixed with ground straw (DPE/GS) as the only growth substrate source. It was observed that the supplementation of such medium with a cellulase A complex (Beldem S.A.) enhanced the antimicrobial effect of both LAB strains. The co-culture medium acidification and the C. jejuni were positively correlated with the cellulase A concentration. The antibacterial effect was characterized by the lactic acid production from the homofermentative E. faecium THT and the lactic and acetic acids production from the heterofermentative Lb. pentosus CWBI B78. The antagonistic properties of LAB strains and enzyme combination could be used in strategies aiming at the reduction of Campylobacter prevalence in the poultry production chain and consequently the risk of human infection.  相似文献

Fructophilic lactic acid bacteria (FLAB) are a specific group of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) characterized and described only recently. They prefer fructose as growth substrate and inhabit only fructose-rich niches. Honeybees are high-fructose-consuming insects and important pollinators in nature, but reported to be decreasing in the wild. In the present study, we analyzed FLAB microbiota in honeybees, larvae, fresh honey and bee pollen. A total of 66 strains of LAB were isolated from samples using a selective isolation technique for FLAB. Surprisingly, all strains showed fructophilic characteristics. The 66 strains and ten FLAB strains isolated from flowers in a separate study were genotypically separated into six groups, four of which being identified as Lactobacillus kunkeei and two as Fructobacillus fructosus. One of the L. kunkeei isolates showed antibacterial activity against Melissococcus plutonius, a causative pathogen of European foulbrood, this protection being attributable to production of an antibacterial peptide or protein. Culture-independent analysis suggested that bee products and larvae contained simple Lactobacillus-group microbiota, dominated by L. kunkeei, although adult bees carried a more complex microbiota. The findings clearly demonstrate that honeybees and their products are rich sources of FLAB, and FLAB are potential candidates for future bee probiotics.  相似文献

A marine Bacillus circulans DMS-2 was able to grow and produce biosurfactant on glucose mineral salts medium (GMSM) with a reduction in the surface tension up to 27 mN m−1. The microorganism produced 1.64 ± 0.1 g l−1 of crude biosurfactant. The lipopeptide nature of the produced biosurfactant was confirmed by primulin and ninhydrin assays using High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC). Preparative thin layer chromatography (TLC) was performed to purify the lipopeptides from the crude biosurfactant. The critical micelle concentrations (CMC) of the crude and purified products were found to be 90 and 40 mg l−1 respectively. Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR) and matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight (MALDI-ToF) mass spectral analysis revealed the identity of the produced lipopeptides as surfactin (m/z 1,023 Da) and fengycin (m/z 1,495 Da) isoforms. The purified marine lipopeptides displayed a significant antiproliferative activity against the human colon cancer cell lines HCT-15 (IC50 80 μg ml−1) and HT-29 (IC50 120 μg ml−1).  相似文献

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were isolated from different soil samples such as dairy, garden, rhizospheric soil and sediments of lake. Thirty nine strains of bacteria were isolated using direct spreading method but only one showed the characteristics of LAB. Whereas, using accumulation with incubation method, fifty seven strains were found to be LAB out of sixty eight strains of bacteria isolated. Therefore, accumulation with incubation method was found to be more effective and faster. On the basis of higher growth and antimicrobial activity, two potential isolates LB44 and LM85 were selected for the further characterization. Strain LB44 and LM85 were identified using 16S rDNA amplification and sequencing as Pediococcus pentosaceus LB44 and Weissella confusa LM85, respectively. Cell free supernatant (CFS) of these strains showed antimicrobial activity, stability at higher temperatures, acidic pH and in the presence of organic solvents, detergents and surfactants. Antimicrobial activity was not affected by treatment with catalase and lipase but reduced after treatment with proteinase K reveals the presence of bacteriocin-like inhibitory substance in CFS. CFS inhibited the growth of other Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Micrococcus luteus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, L. curvatus, L. plantarum, L. acidophilus, Enterobacter cloaceae, Lactococcus lactis subsp. cremoris, L. lactis subsp. lactis, Bacillus subtilis, B. licheniformis, Salmonella typhi and Escherichia coli.  相似文献
