Incomplete reproductive isolation and hybridization is relatively frequent in primates. However, no cases of hybridization between formally recognized species have been reported in tamarins (genus Saguinus), a highly specious group of Neotropical primates. Here, we provide evidence from different sources to demonstrate three cases of hybridization in captivity between species of Saguinus distributed west of the Andes (trans-Andean). To do this, we described fur color patterns, genotyped 12 microsatellite loci, sequenced the mitochondrial hypervariable region I, and generated chromosomal R bands for the three formally recognized species and the new hybrids of trans-Andean tamarins. We identified one case of interbreeding between the white-footed tamarin (Saguinus leucopus) and the cotton-top tamarin (S. ?dipus) and two independent reciprocal crosses of S. leucopus and the Geoffroy’s tamarin (S. geoffroyi). All these hybrids exhibit intermediate phenotypes between parental species, and genetic data are consistent with first-generation hybridization. Cytogenetic data suggest that the S. leucopus × S. ?dipus hybrid is sterile, as it is a female with XY karyotype apparently affected by a condition known as gonadal dysgenesis. Trans-Andean tamarin species occur in northwest Colombia with parapatric distributions bounded by major rivers. Potential contact zones, either natural or anthropogenic, might facilitate hybridization in the wild, but this scenario remains to be assessed. Our findings warrant future studies focused on the evolutionary mechanisms of reproductive isolation in tamarins. Given the risk of hybridization, caution should be taken in management and conservation of tamarins.  相似文献

The genus Elymus L. is a complicated aggregate of ecological and geographical races, species, subspecies, varieties, and hybrids. We suggest that comparative analysis of intragenomic polymorphism of internal transcribed spacers ITS1 and ITS2 of 35S rRNA genes in the supposed hybrids and their possible “parents” can be one of the approaches to verification of hybrid origin of the samples collected in nature to confirm or reject the hypotheses about their possible “parents.” Polymorphic sites (PS) in ITS of 23 Elymus species, as well as in two supposed interspecific Elymus hybrids and in a supposed intergeneric hybrid between Elymus × Hordeum determined as × Elyhordeum sp., were analyzed in the work. We collected all hybrids in the Altai. There were 2 and 5 PS in two samples of E. dahuricus and 1 and 4 PS in two studied samples of E. schrenkianus in the ITS1-5.8S rDNA-ITS2 region. From 0 to 4 (modes 0 and 3) PS were detected in 32 samples relating to 21 tetraploid Elymus species. More PS (14) were found in the × Elyhordeum sp. sample. A large number of single nucleotide substitutions were found in 5.8S rRNA in × Elyhordeum. It was shown that about half of them do not change the secondary structure of the 5.8S rRNA molecule, so these molecules probably retain the ability to work as a component of large subunit of a ribosome. On the other hand, the absence or weakening of 5.8S rDNA homogenization in × Elyhordeum indirectly suggests that a significant part of 5.8S rDNA is not transcribed. Paradoxically, ITS sequences of × Elyhordeum sp. are less polymorphic than 5.8S rDNA. There are no ITS sequences derived from Hordeum among × Elyhordeum ITS sequenced by Sanger method. No traces of the H subgenome and a subgenome originating from Agropyron (P-subgenome) are seen in the Alt 10–278 plant genome (a chimera, combining the morphological traits of Elymus, Elytrigia, and Agropyron). In this plant, as well as in the supposed intersectional hybrid Alt 11–60 distinguished by a mosaic of the traits typical for the E. caninus × E. mutabilis species, only 4 and 5 PS, respectively, are detected when sequencing by Sanger method. The comparison of ITS sequences of the supposed Elymus Alt 10–278 hybrid and its probable “parents” demonstrates that one of the species of the Elymus macrourus kinship circle, as well as the Elytrigia geniculata, could be one of its ancestors. The comparison of the ITS sequence of the supposed parental species with ITS of Alt 11–60 samples and five PS of the supposed Alt 11–60 hybrid does not contradict the hypothesis that this is an intersectional hybrid of the first generation that emerged with the involvement of E. caninus and E. mutabilis common in the Altai.  相似文献

The presence of homologous subgenomes inhibited unreduced gamete formation in wheat × Aegilops interspecific hybrids. Unreduced gamete rates were under the control of the wheat nuclear genome.

Abstract

Production of unreduced gametes is common among interspecific hybrids, and may be affected by parental genotypes and genomic similarity. In the present study, five cultivars of Triticum aestivum and two tetraploid Aegilops species (i.e. Ae. triuncialis and Ae. cylindrica) were reciprocally crossed to produce 20 interspecific hybrid combinations. These hybrids comprised two different types: T. aestivum × Aegilops triuncialis; 2n = ABDUtCt (which lack a common subgenome) and T. aestivum × Ae. cylindrica; 2n = ABDDcCc (which share a common subgenome). The frequency of unreduced gametes in F1 hybrids was estimated in sporads from the frequency of dyads, and the frequency of viable pollen, germinated pollen and seed set were recorded. Different meiotic abnormalities recorded in the hybrids included precocious chromosome migration to the poles at metaphase I and II, laggards in anaphase I and II, micronuclei and chromosome stickiness, failure in cell wall formation, premature cytokinesis and microspore fusion. The mean frequency of restitution meiosis was 10.1 %, and the mean frequency of unreduced viable pollen was 4.84 % in T. aestivum × Ae. triuncialis hybrids. By contrast, in T. aestivum × Ae. cylindrica hybrids no meiotic restitution was observed, and a low rate of viable gametes (0.3 %) was recorded. This study present evidence that high levels of homologous pairing between the D and Dc subgenomes may interfere with meiotic restitution and the formation of unreduced gametes. Variation in unreduced gamete production was also observed between T. aestivum × Ae. triuncialis hybrid plants, suggesting genetic control of this trait.

2C DNA content and ploidy level variation of Prunus spinosa and closely related taxa together with Prunus domestica L. and Prunus insititia L. was studied in Slovakia. The aim of the study was to define genome sizes and find differences between closely related taxa within Prunus spinosa sensu lato mentioned in previous works. According to our results, investigated taxa can be divided into three groups according to ploidy level: Prunus spinosa, Prunus dasyphylla, Prunus ×fruticans, Prunus ×dominii and Prunus ×schurii are tetraploids, Prunus ×fechtneri is pentaploid, and P. domestica and P. insititia are hexaploids. Genome size differences within tetraploid taxa were relatively small (Prunus spinosa: 1.40?±?0.02, P. ×domini: 1.44?±?0.01, P. ×fruticans: 1.48?±?0.02, P. ×schurii: 1.44?±?0.02), but statistically significant. Although further research is needed, it seems that the concept of several taxa as product of hybridization between P. spinosa and cultivated plum species has been supported by our study.  相似文献

Urban trees form a vital component of sustainable cities but the use of a restricted range of species and genotypes may pose a risk to global biodiversity. Despite several studies investigating tree species diversity, intraspecific genetic diversity of urban trees remains largely unexplored. Here, we characterized the genetic diversity of Tilia?×?europaea, one of the most widely planted urban tree species in Northwest Europe. We compared the genotypic diversity of historical plantings of Tilia spp. from the 17th century with the genotypic diversity of currently available planting stock in Belgium and the Netherlands. In total, 129 trees were sampled and genotyped with 14 microsatellite loci and 150 polymorphic Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism markers. In Northwest Europe, homogenization of urban T.?×?europaea plantings already started at the 17th century. Genetic diversity within contemporary commercial planting stocks was extremely narrow and consisted mainly of two clones, sold under the name ‘Pallida’ and ‘Zwarte linde’. The genetic diversity found within the historical plantings was about four times higher than in the current commercial planting stocks. We recommend that tree nurseries should enlarge the genetic diversity of T.?×?europaea commercial planting stocks. The old clones have shown long-term disease resistance and could provide tree breeders with the valuable new genetic material. The range of available Tilia species and genotypes needs to be explored in future urban tree planning to optimize desired ecosystem services.  相似文献

We used a set of 16 SSR markers to check the identity of pure-species and hybrid clones in Vietnam’s Acacia auriculiformis, Acacia mangium, and acacia hybrid (A. mangium × A. auriculiformis) breeding programs. The statistics package HIest, applied to a large synthesized population, enabled accurate allocation of genotypes to the two pure species, F1 and F2 inter-specific hybrids and backcrosses, based on estimates of hybridity and heterozygosity. The hybridity status of putatively pure A. mangium and A. auriculiformis clones in adjacent clonal seed orchards was checked. Four out of 100 clones selected as A. mangium were found to be backcrosses (A. mangium × F1 inter-specific hybrid) while out of 96 clones selected as A. auriculiformis, two were F1 hybrids and two were backcrosses (A. auriculiformis × F1 hybrid). The markers were then applied to check the hybridity status of 160 putative acacia F1 hybrid genotypes that had been selected on morphological criteria from open-pollinated progenies collected from A. auriculiformis and A. mangium parents. Many selections based on morphology were found to be mistaken. Only thirteen of 63 clones originating from A. auriculiformis mothers were F1 hybrids, four were backcrosses, and the remaining 46 were pure A. auriculiformis. Fewer mistakes were evident for clones selected from A. mangium mothers, with 82 out of 89 clones confirmed as F1 hybrids, three as backcrosses, and four as pure A. mangium. The occurrence of F1 hybrids and backcrosses in pure-species seed orchards and their progeny shows that inter-species contamination is an issue requiring management in both pure-species and in hybrid breeding of these species in Vietnam. Examination of genetic distances among verified clones showed patterns of relatedness that were consistent with pedigree records. Implications for resource management as well as for breeding and clonal selection strategies are considered.  相似文献

Spadicoides lushanensis sp. nov., S. multiseptata sp. nov. and S. rostrata sp. nov. are described and illustrated from specimens collected on dead branches of unidentified plants in Lushan Mountain, China. Spadicoides lushanensis is characterized by obclavate, rostrate, pale brown, 40–65?×?4.5–5.5 μm, smooth, 6–8-euseptate conidia. Spadicoides multiseptata is easily distinguished by obclavate, smooth, 11–15-euseptate, 65–115?×?11.5–13 μm, brown to pale brown conidia with a subacute apex. Spadicoides rostrata differs from other described Spadicoides species by obclavate, rostrate, pale brown, 40–65?×?10.5–12.5 μm, smooth, predominantly 5-euseptate conidia. A dichotomous key to Spadicoides species is provided.  相似文献

Crossability relationships between Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and mountain dwarf pine (Pinus mugo Turra) was studied, using artificial pollination approach. Partial compatibility of the reciprocal crossings of these species was proved experimentally, validating the idea of a spontaneous formation of their hybrid swarms under natural conditions. The hybrids were validated using organellar DNA markers and nuclear DNA microsatellites. Based on the percentage of filled seeds, the interspecific crossings were less efficient than the intraspecific cross-pollinations of P. sylvestris and P. mugo individuals. Both species were found to intercross readily with individuals of their putative hybrid swarm, P. mugo exhibiting a higher hybridological affinity towards putatively hybrid individuals than P. sylvestris. Validation of the hybrids confirmed the paternal inheritance of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) in the combination P. sylvestris × P. mugo only. Surprisingly, in the reciprocal crossing P. mugo × P. sylvestris, maternal inheritance of cpDNA was revealed. Obtained results offer a new insight into the direction and intensity of gene flow within the hybrid swarms of Scots pine and mountain dwarf pine.  相似文献

The aim of present study was to elucidate the association of CTLA4 +49 A/G and HLA-DRB1*/DQB1* gene polymorphism in south Indian T1DM patients. The patients and controls (n?=?196 each) were enrolled for CTLA4 and HLA-DRB1*/DQB1* genotyping by RFLP/PCR-SSP methods. The increased frequencies of CTLA4 ‘AG’ (OR?=?1.99; p?=?0.001), ‘GG’ (OR?=?3.94; p?=?0.001) genotypes, and ‘G’ allele (OR?=?2.42; p?=?9.26?×?10?8) were observed in patients. Reduced frequencies of ‘AA’ (OR?=?0.35; p?=?7.19?×?10?7) and ‘A’ (OR?=?0.41; p?=?9.26?×?10?8) in patients revealed protective association. Among HLA-DRB1*/DQB1* alleles, DRB1*04 (OR?=?3.29; p?=?1.0?×?10?5), DRB1*03 (OR?=?2.81; p?=?1.9?×?10?6), DQB1*02:01 (OR?=?2.93; p?=?1.65?×?10?5), DQB1*02:02 (OR?=?3.38; p?=?0.0003), and DQB1*03:02 (OR?=?7.72; p?=?0.0003) were in susceptible association. Decreased frequencies of alleles, DRB1*15 (OR?=?0.32; p?=?2.55?×?10?7), DRB1*10 (OR?=?0.45; p?=?0.002), DQB1*06:01 (OR?=?0.43; p?=?0.0001), and DQB1*05:02 (OR?=?0.28; p?=?2.1?×?10?4) in patients were suggested protective association. The combination of DRB1*03+AG (OR?=?5.21; p?=?1.4?×?10?6), DRB1*04+AG (OR?=?2.14; p?=?0.053), DRB1*04+GG (OR?=?5.21; p?=?0.036), DQB1*02:01+AG (OR?=?4.44; p?=?3.6?×?10?5), DQB1*02:02+AG (OR?=?20.9; p?=?9.5?×?10?4), and DQB1*02:02+GG (OR?=?4.06; p?=?0.036) revealed susceptible association. However, the combination of DRB1*10+AA (OR?=?0.35; p?=?0.003), DRB1*15+AA (OR?=?0.22; p?=?5.3?×?10?7), DQB1*05:01+AA (OR?=?0.45; p?=?0.007), DQB1*05:02+AA (OR?=?0.17; p?=?1.7?×?10?4), DQB1*06:01+AA (OR?=?0.40; p?=?0.002), and DQB1*06:02+AG (OR?=?0.34; p?=?0.001) showed decreased frequency in patients, suggesting protective association. In conclusion, CTLA4/HLA-DR/DQ genotypic combinations revealed strong susceptible/protective association toward T1DM in south India. A female preponderance in disease associations was also documented.  相似文献

In order to assist breeding and gene pool conservation in tropical Acacias, we aimed to develop a set of multipurpose SSR markers for use in both Acacia mangium and A. auriculiformis. A total of 51 SSR markers (developed in A. mangium and natural A. mangium x A. auriculiformis hybrid) were tested. A final set of 16 well-performing SSR markers were identified, six of which were species diagnostic. The markers were optimized for assay in four multiplex mixes and used to genotype range-wide samples of A. mangium, A. auriculiformis, and putative F1 hybrids. Simulation analysis was used to investigate the power of the markers for identifying the pure species and their F1, F2, and backcross hybrids. The six species diagnostic markers were particularly powerful for detecting F1 hybrids from pure species but could also discriminate the pure species from F2 and backcross progenies in most cases (97 %). STRUCTURE analysis using all 16 markers was likewise able to distinguish these cross types and pure species sets. Both sets of markers had difficulties in distinguishing F2 and backcross progenies. However, identifying F1 from pure species is the current primary concern in countries where these species are planted. The SSR marker set also has direct application in DNA profiling (probability of identity?=?4.1?×?10?13), breeding system analysis, and population genetics.  相似文献

Second-year traits of growth, stem form, terminal flushing, and survival were assessed in 1770 ramets from 295 clones of 16 full-sib families of Castanea spp. Additive, dominance, and epistatic genetic variances were estimated in a clonally replicated incomplete 5?×?4 factorial test. Parents of the mating design were selected mainly on their phenotypes for wood quality (Castanea sativa traditional varieties) and their proven resistance to Phytophthora spp. (Asiatic species and Castanea crenata?×?C. sativa hybrids). Additive genetic variances were estimated to be 1.7–9 times greater than the dominance components. Inferred epistatic variance components showed a significant role in controlling growth traits and branch length. Narrow- and broad-sense heritability estimates showed that terminal flushing date was the most heritable trait, followed by height. The high estimates of half-sib, full-sib, and clonal mean heritabilities for almost all traits suggest that different strategies of backwards and forwards selection could be proposed. The ranking of the breeding values of parents allow us to select the best parents for new crosses and extend the mating design. Favorable genetic correlations were found between growth traits and straightness, so multi-trait selection looks promising. Our results provide the first information on the partitioning of genetic variance in Castanea spp. and a starting point for devising new selection strategies.  相似文献

Semi-sessile Mytilus mussels are used as indicators of climate changes, but their geographic distribution is not sufficiently known in the Arctic. The aim of this study was to investigate the taxonomic status and genetic differentiation of Mytilus populations in a Northwest Greenlandic fjord at Maarmorilik, impacted by contaminations from a former mine. In this study, mussels were collected at three sites differing in exposure to environmental factors. A total of 54 polymorphic SNPs found in the Mytilus EST and DNA sequences analyzed were successfully applied to 256 individuals. The results provided the first evidence for the existence of M. trossulus in Greenland. The mussel from M. trossulus and M. edulis taxa are shown to coexist and hybridize in the fjord. The three studied sites were found to differ significantly in the distribution of taxa with a higher prevalence of M. trossulus in the inner fjord. The identified M. edulis × M. trossulus hybrids mostly had a hybrid index score of about 0.5, indicating a similar number of alleles characteristic for M. trossulus and M. edulis. There was a low number of backcrosses between ‘pure’ taxa and hybrids. This newly discovered hybrid zone between the two taxa is unique in comparison with the Canadian populations. As Mytilus mussels in Greenland hitherto have been regarded as the one taxon M. edulis, the results have importance for biogeography and future monitoring and environmental studies.  相似文献

Hybridization between alien and native species is biologically very important and could lead to genetic erosion of native taxa. Solidago × niederederi was discovered over a century ago in Austria and described by Khek as a natural hybrid between the alien (nowadays regarded also as invasive) S. canadensis and native S. virgaurea. Although interspecific hybridization in the genus Solidago is considered to be relatively common, hybrid nature of S. × niederederi has not been independently proven using molecular tools, to date. Because proper identification of the parentage for the hybrid Solidago individuals solely based on morphological features can be misleading, in this paper we report an additive polymorphism pattern expressed in the ITS sequences obtained from individuals representing S. × niederederi, and confirm the previous hypothesis that the parental species of this hybrid are S. canadensis and S. virgaurea. Additionally, based on variability at the cpDNA rpl32-trnL locus, we showed that in natural populations hybridization occurs in both directions.  相似文献

The results of the study of 21 populations of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) from different parts of the species natural range by microsatellite (SSR) analysis of nuclear DNA are presented. Using nine loci developed for Picea abies (L.) Karst. and Picea glauca (Moench) Voss and detecting variation in Picea obovata, the parameters of intra- and interpopulation genetic diversity, as well as the degree of population differentiation, were determined. It was demonstrated that the population of Siberian spruce in the study was characterized by a relatively high average level of intrapopulation variability (Ho = 0.408; He = 0.423) and low interpopulation differentiation (Fst = 0.048, P = 0.001) at this class of DNA markers. The genetic distance between populations ranged from 0.009 to 0.167, averaging 0.039. The isolated Magadan population, located in the extreme Northeast of Russia at a considerable distance from the main species range and characterized by the lowest genetic diversity among the studied populations, was maximally differentiated from the rest of the spruce populations. In addition, the steppe Ubukun population from Buryatia and the population from the Bogd Khan Uul Biosphere Reserve, Mongolia, were considerably different in the genetic structure from most populations of Siberian spruce, although to a lesser extent than the Magadan population. These findings are consistent with the results of previous studies of this species carried out using allozyme and microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA and point to the prospects of using nuclear microsatellites as DNA markers to analyze the population genetic structure of Siberian spruce.  相似文献

Epidemiological genetics established that heritability in determining the risk of myocardial infarction (MI) is substantially greater when MI occurs early in life. However, the genetic architecture of early-onset and late-onset MI was not compared. We analyzed genotype frequencies of SNPs in/near 20 genes whose protein products are involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis in two groups of Russian patients with MI: the first group included patients with age of first MI onset <60 years (N?=?230) and the second group with onset ≥60 years (N?=?174). The control group of corresponding ethnicity consisted of 193 unrelated volunteers without cardiovascular diseases (93 individuals were over 60 years). We found that in the group of patients with age of onset <60 years, SNPs FGB rs1800788*T, TGFB1 rs1982073*T/T, ENOS rs2070744*C and CRP rs1130864*T/T were associated with risk of MI, whereas in patients with age of onset ≥60 years, only TGFB1 rs1982073*T/T was associated with risk of MI. Using APSampler software, we found composite markers associated with MI only in patients with early onset: FGB rs1800788*T?+?TGFB1 rs1982073*T; FGB rs1800788*T?+?LPL rs328*C?+?IL4 rs2243250*C; FGB rs1800788*T?+?ENOS rs2070744*C (Fisher p values of 1.4?×?10?6 to 2.2?×?10?5; the permutation p values of 1.1?×?10?5 to 3.0?×?10?4; ORs?=?2.67–2.54). Alleles included in the combinations were associated with MI less significantly and with lower ORs than the combinations themselves. The result showed a substantially greater contribution of the genetic component in the development of MI if it occurs early in life, and demonstrated the usefulness of genetic testing for young people.  相似文献

When non-native, genetically diverse species are introduced, hybridization with native congeners may erode the genetic composition of local species, perhaps even resulting in extinction. While such events may lead to adverse consequences at the community and ecosystem level, few studies exist on ecologically important tree species. In the genus Platanus, introgressive hybridization is widespread, and one common ornamental species, introduced to California during the late 19th century, is itself a hybrid. Our microsatellite analysis of more than 400 Platanus trees from north-central California reveals a complex pattern of invasion and hybridization in an age-structured population. By using size as a proxy for age, we have demonstrated that the Platanus population of north-central California has recently gained genetic diversity and effective population size. Principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) and genetic admixture analysis (STRUCTURE) both reveal a strong differentiation of genotypes into two main genetic clusters, with a large number of admixed genotypes. One of the genetic clusters identified is heavily biased towards younger trees, including samples from locations with relatively recently planted ornamental trees likely to be P. × hispanica (formerly known as P. × acerifolia). We conclude that the two genetic clusters correspond to the native P. racemosa and the introduced invasive hybrid species P. × hispanica. Additional hybridization between the invasive ornamental and the native species has occurred in California, and recent hybrid trees are more likely to be younger than trees without admixture. Our findings suggest that the observed increase in genetic diversity among California Platanus is due to rampant ongoing introgression, which may be threatening the continued genetic distinctiveness of the native species. This is cause for concern from a conservation standpoint, due to a direct loss of genetic distinctiveness, and a potential reduction in habitat value of associated species.  相似文献

Two nothospecies, Ranunculus × luizetii and R. × peredae (Ranunculaceae), were analyzed and discussed. For this purpose, Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) markers, nuclear rDNA sequences (ITS1, 5.8S and ITS2) and pollen viability were conducted. The profiles of these hybrid samples were compared to their putative progenitors. Several additive polymorphic sites detected in the ITS sequences of the hybrid samples (R. × luizetii and R. × peredae) also confirmed their derived origins from ribotypes of their parental taxa (R. parnassiifolius subsp. parnassiifolius × R. pyrenaeus; R. amplexicaulis × R. cabrerensis subsp. cabrerensis, respectively). Despite the lack of exclusive AFLP markers reported in both hybrids, presumably due to effects of introgression, the concerted evolution of many rDNA polymorphisms towards either of the parental ribotypes indicated their ancient origin. Pollen fertility estimation in R. × luizetii presented a mean value of 60.58%, which showed that hybrid samples are well established and fertile. However, a larger difference was observed in R. × peredae, where the mean value of pollen fertility was very low (18.91%).  相似文献

Taxonomic and phylogenetic studies of Haploporus were carried out. Three species in Haploporus, H. cylindrosporus, H. septatus and H. subpapyraceus, are described as new based on morphological differences and molecular phylogenetic analyses inferred from the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), the large subunit nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (nLSU), the small subunit mitochondrial rRNA gene (mtSSU), the second subunit of RNA polymerase II (rpb2) and the translation elongation factor 1-α gene (TEF1) sequences. Haploporus cylindrosporus is characterized by big irregular crystals occasionally present in the subiculum, an abundant oily substance among hyphae and typically cylindrical basidiospores 10–11.5?×?4.5–5 μm; H. septatus differs from other species in the genus by its leathery to corky basidiomata when dry, small round pores (5–6 per mm), simple septate skeletal hyphae at the edge of the dissepiments, and oblong to ellipsoid basidiospores 8.5–11?×?5–6 μm; H. subpapyraceus is separated by white to cream basidiomata, numerous apically simple septate cystidioles and ellipsoid basidiospores 9–12?×?5.5–8 μm. An identification key to accepted species of Haploporus is provided.  相似文献

Hybridization is regarded as a rapid mechanism for increasing genetic variation that can potentially enhance invasiveness. Tamarix hybrids appear to be the dominant genotypes in their invasions. Exotic Tamarix are declared invasive in South Africa and the exotic T. chinensis and T. ramosissima are known to hybridize between themselves, and with the indigenous T. usneoides. However, until now, it was not known which species or hybrid is the most prevalent in the invasion. With a biocontrol programme being considered as a way of suppressing the alien Tamarix populations, it is important to document the population genetic dynamics of all species in the region. This investigation sought to identify Tamarix species in southern Africa and their hybrids, describe their population structure, and reveal the geographic origin of the invasive species. To achieve this, nuclear Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) sequence data and the multilocus Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphisms (AFLPs) markers were used. Phylogenetic analysis and population genetic structure confirmed the presence of three species in South Africa (T. chinensis, T. ramosissima and T. usneoides) with their hybrids. The indigenous T. usneoides is clearly genetically distant from the alien species T. chinensis and T. ramosissima. Interestingly, the Tamarix infestation in South Africa is dominated (64.7 %) by hybrids between T. chinensis and T. ramosissima. The exotic species match their counterparts from their places of origin in Eurasia, as well as those forming part of the invasion in the US.  相似文献
