Mesocyclops ferjemurami sp. nov. is described from Central Vietnam, North India and Sri Lanka. It differs from all congeners in having a unique spinule ornamentation on the caudal surface of the antennary basipodite: the `leuckarti-type' spinule pattern is supplemented with a group of spinules at the height of implantation of the medial setae, and proximal to this group a triangular spinule field occurs, the longest side of which runs more or less parallel to the oblique row of tiny spinules starting at distal half of the medial rim. It is suggested that Mesocyclops ferjemurami is closely related to Mesocyclops pehpeiensis Hu, 1943 and Mesocyclops papuensis Van de Velde, 1987. 相似文献

Eudiaptomus anatolicus n.sp. displays similarity to E. transylvanicus (Daday, 1890) by possessing an outer marginal spine
located proximally on the second exopodite segment of the male right P5, but it differs from this closest species in the presence of a chitinous projection on the second exopodite segment of the
male right P5, and in the typical shape of the female's thoracic wings. E. transylvanicus (Daday, 1890) has three chitinous processes located
on the basipodite segment of the male right P5, whereas Eudiaptomus anatolicus n.sp. has only one small process on this part.
This new species is living in lake Poyraz, which is small and shallow. Some cladoceran species, namely, Pleuroxus truncatus
(O.F. Müller, 1785), Pleuroxus laevis (Sars, 1862), Pleuroxus trigonellus (O.F. Müller, 1785), Simocephalus exspinosus (Koch,
1841), Eurycercus lamellatus (O.F. Müller, 1785), Alonella excisa (Fischer, 1854), Lathonura rectirostris (O.F. Müller, 1785),
Pseudochydorus globosus (Baird, 1843) and two cyclopoid copepods, Megacyclops viridis (Jurine, 1820) and Eucyclops serrulatus
(Fischer, 1851) share the same habitat.

Eodiaptomus shihi n. sp. is described from the material collected from Gandhisagar reservoir, River Narmada and a hillpool in the Madhya Pradesh State of central India. The salient features of this new species include: in female, the left metasomal wing is strongly developed, and the endopodite in leg 5 is 2-segmented and longer than first exopodite-segment; in male, the right caudal ramus is armed with a tooth-like chitinous structure near ventro-distal region, and in right leg 5, the basis is devoid of any hyaline lobe on inner margin and the first exopodite-segment is produced into a large spinous process at disto-outer corner. 相似文献

Two new species of Mesocyclops from southern China and notes on the genus Mesocyclops in China 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Two new Mesocyclops species, M. mariae n. sp. and M. shenzhenensisn. sp., are described from southern China, the former species from Guangxi province, the latter from Guangdong province. Both species have setules on the medial margin of the caudal rami. Compared with each other, there are some conspicuous differences, such as the spinule pattern of the antenna basipodite, the structure of receptaculum seminis, the armature of coxopodite and basipodite of P4 and the armature of the caudal rami. The paper also compares the two new species with their supposedly closest relatives, M. pseudospinosus Dussart & Fernando, 1988, M. leuckarti(Claus, 1857) and M. pehpeiensisHu, 1943. In addition, other species of Mesocyclops in China are discussed and a key to 10 Chinese species of Mesocyclops is provided. 相似文献

1. We studied the effects of food type on adult females of the cyclopoid copepod Mesocyclops thermocyclopoides.
2. The test diets, covering a size range of 5–1250 μm, included a toxic strain of Microcystis aeruginosa , three algae (i.e. Chlorella vulgaris, Scenedesmus acutus and Chlorogonium elongatum ), three ciliates (i.e. Tetrahymena pyriformis, Stylonychia notophora and S. mytilus ), two rotifers (i.e. Brachionus angularis and B. calyciflorus ) and two cladocerans (i.e. Ceriodaphnia cornuta and Moina macrocopa ), and a selected subset of them in a second experiment.
3. Experimental diets were started with the last juvenile instar (C5) and data were collected on the newly moulted adult females. The survival of the copepod was less affected by food type than its reproductive output. Net reproductive rate was significantly higher with animal than with plant food. Algal diets enriched with organic extracts supported higher reproductive rates than unenriched diets of the same algal species. The large and motile alga Chlorogonium gave performances which approached those of ciliate diets.
4. The pre-reproductive period of M. thermocyclopoides was shorter and its post-reproductive period longer with animal than with plant diets, the latter being chiefly caused by a briefer period between clutches.
5. The frequency of infertile clutches increased in later clutches, indicating possible sperm limitation in females which have mated only once.
6. There was a significant, positive correlation between the size of food particles and the lifetime reproductive output of M. thermocyclopoides , with more than an order of magnitude difference in the total fecundity between the largest and the smallest food items.
7. Mesocyclops thermocyclopoides achieved the highest total fecundity with 'mixed' food, and thus, reflected the adaptive value of omnivory for this species. 相似文献

Mongolodiaptomus dumonti n. sp. from several localities in northeast Thailand is described and figured. The new species shares some features with Mongolodiaptomus gladiolus (Shen & Lee), M. calcarus (Shen & Tai) and M. rarus (Reddy, Sanoamuang & Dumont), thus the gladiolus-group is created. However, it stands out in the female, by the extraordinary large postero-laterally spine at left proximal margin of genital somite. In the male, the right caudal ramus has a large tooth and a bilobed knob on ventral side; basis of the right P5 has a distinct, spur-like process on mid-distal surface; the second exopodite-segment of the right P5 has characteristically irregular outer margin, enlarged at proximal 1/3, but narrowed at distal 2/3 and bearing three lateral spines of unequal sizes; the inner margin of basis of the left P5 is fringed with a narrow hyaline lamella and dilated distally in lateral angle. 相似文献

A new genus of Platycopioida is described from a boxcore sample taken at a depth of 534 m in the ArcticBarents Sea. This is the deepest record ofPlatycopioida so far. Sarsicopia gen. n. is thesistergroup of a taxon comprising Platycopia and Nanocopia; the sistergroup ofthese is Antrisocopia. Sarsicopia gen. n.is the only platycopioid to retain 2 inner setae onthe second endopod segment P2–P4, and 8 setae in thethird endopod segment of P2. The male antennnule isremarkable in having a geniculation located betweenancestral segments XX and XXI. It is suggested thatthis flexure zone was already present in thegroundpattern of Copepoda. Tasmanomysis oculata n.g. n.sp. belonging to the Tribe Mysini is described from the coastal waters of southern Tasmania. This new genus superficially resembles the monospecific genus Arthromysis Colosi,1924 known only from the Straits of Magellan. The insects of a small and cold aestival stream in northern Sweden were studied from semiquantitative kick-samples taken every ten days throughout the ice-free season in 1987. The stream froze solid at least in some sections in some winters. In addition to dipterans that were only identified to the family level, five ephemeropteran, four plecopteran, 11 coleopteran (Dytiscidae), and four trichopteran (Limnephilidae) species were found. Baetis bundyae Lemkuhl, Heptagenia orbiticola Kluge (Ephemeroptera), Nemoura cinerea (Retzius) (Plecoptera), Hydroporus palustris (L), Agabus setulosus (J. Sahlberg) (Coleoptera), Anabolia concentrica (Zetterstedt), Limnephilus coenosus Curtis, and Micopterna sequax McLachlan (Trichoptera) were all common. Malaise trap data are given for Plecoptera. The two ephemeropteran species Heptagenia orbiticola and Metretopus alter Bengtsson, and the plecopteran species Nemoura viki Lillehammer were recorded for the first time in Sweden. The remarkable species composition was attributed to the harsh abiotic and poorly studied environment. We predicted that the larval composition of this stream was representative for aestival streams in northernmost Fennoscandia. 相似文献

Lake Baikal is well known for its exceptional diversity of gammarid amphipods, with 95% of endemics from its 270 described species representing about 20% of the world freshwater fauna. Echiuropus (Asprogammarus) bekmanae n.sp. was collected by an `autonomous trap system', a sampling device thoroughly described here. Although not necrophagous itself, this new species was found in two baited trap samples (at 750 and more than 1600 m) from 1995 and 1996. This rather small (13 mm) deep water species is the eighth species of the subgenus Asprogammarus, of the Baikal endemic genus Echiuropus. Nanocopia minuta was collected from an inland marine cave on Bermuda. This new genus is reminiscent of Platycopia in its cephalic appendages and in the 5th legs of the male. The 1st leg has a 3-segmented exopod and a 1-segmented endopod. The other legs show reductions with no armature along the inner margin of the exopods and with 2-segmented endopods in the female. Only 2nd and 3rd legs bear two outer spines on the first exopodal segment.Owing to similarities in sexual characters, mouthparts, and modifications of the swimming legs, Nanocopia and Platycopia are considered more closely related to each other than either is to Antrisocopia.Platycopioida now contains three genera of which two are found only in Roadside Cave. H. tageae sp. n. and Halicyclops ytororoma sp. n. are described from the intertidal interstitial water of Brazilian beaches.
H. tageae is distinguished from all congeneric species by the number of setae on legs 1–4 endopodite 2 (1, 1, 2, 2) and by possessing a reduced inner spine on the leg 5 exopodite. It shares with H. brevispinosus, H. pusillus and H. canui the spine formula 2, 3, 3, 3 on exopodite 3 of swimming legs 1–4.
H. ytororoma closely resembles H. gauldi and differs from this species by having 4 setae on leg 1 endopodite 3; H. gauldi has 3 setae on this segment.This is the first record of Halicyclops from marine interstitial water in Brazil. 相似文献
