Podocarpophyllum Gomolitzky is studied in detail from the type locality Angren (Uzbekistan, Middle Jurassic). Emended diagnoses of the genus and its type species P. singulare Gomolitzky are provided. For the first time, members of the genus are reported from the Lower Jurassic of the Mangyshlak Peninsula (western Kazakhstan), where P. kazachstanicum sp. nov. is described, and from the Middle Jurassic of the eastern Ural Mountains, where P. mesozoicum (Kiritchkova) comb. nov. is established. The epidermal morphology of the genus Podocarpophyllum is compared with that of fossil and modern members of the Podocarpaceae. 相似文献

We studied the species of Dennstaedtia in Ecuador in herbaria and in the field, especially characters that are poorly represented in herbarium collections, such as growth habit, habitat, rhizome morphology, petiole morphology, and development of buds on petioles and laminae. We found that variation in these characters correlates with certain, sometimes subtle, features of lamina dissection, and sorus position, shape and size, and thus adds more significance to these than was recognized earlier. In earlier revisions some of the variability in lamina dissection was commonly considered to represent intraspecific variation, response to growth conditions, or different stages of development. As a result five species groups including a total of 18 species are now recognized in Ecuador, in contrast to eight species in earlier revisions. The groups and species are described and keyed out. Dennstaedtia auriculata, D. macrosora, D. paucirrhiza , and D. tryoniana are described as new to science, D. werckleana , based on Costaricia werckleana is a new nomenclaturel combination. Dennstaedtia arcuata, D, cornuta, D. matthewsii , and D. producta , formerly reduced to synonymy, are recognized as distinct species. Four species formerly known from other countries were recorded for the first time in Ecuador during this study. 相似文献

A new species from Mt Etna (Sicily), Allium aetenense of A. sect. Codonoprasum, is described and illustrated. It is a diploid species (2n = 16) that grows on basaltic rocks in the mountain belt and shows close relationships with A. tenuiflorum of the Italian peninsula. A new genus, Aldersladum (family Alcyoniidae), is established to accommodate a previously described species, Efflatounaria sodwanae Benayahu, 1993 (family Xeniidae) from Sodwana Bay, South Africa that was wrongly assigned to the latter genus. This species is redescribed and a second new species, Aldersladum jengi from Penghu Is., Taiwan, is described. The diagnostic features of the new genus include the presence of only figure-eight shaped platelets in all parts of the colony, thus differentiating it from all known genera of the Alcyoniidae. Based on examination of additional material from other localities, the zoogeographical distribution of the genus is confirmed to include the coral reefs of South Africa, Kenya, Gulf of Oman, Taiwan and Japan. Phylogenetic analyses of two mitochondrial genes strongly support its placement in the family Alcyoniidae. 相似文献

A new species, K. carlsbergiana , is described in what is currently considered a monotypic genus. The new species is only known from permanent streams in the Arssi and Bale regions of S Ethiopia. The delimitation and position of the genus is reconsidered in light of the additional information provided by the new species. The distinctiveness of the genus is reconfirmed whilst no new clues to possible relationships with other genera were observed. The taxonomy of the other species, K. laniflora (Forssk.) R. Summary A new criconematid genus Amphisbaenema is proposed, its type being a new species, A. paradoxiger, from Western Samoa which shows an unusual combination of features in that the outer layer of the female cuticle is broken up into numerous platelets and the female head is rounded without submedian lobes, labial plates or pseudolips; the male has prominent caudal alae and juveniles have longitudinal rows of tubercles over most of the body which is covered by an outer layer of fine backwardly directed spines.
