BackgroundThe balance between osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity is critical in orthodontic tooth movement (OTM). Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) play an important role in maintaining bone homeostasis, and periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) are tissue-specific MSCs in the periodontal ligament. However, whether PDLSCs are required for periodontal tissue remodeling during OTM is not fully understood.MethodsHere, we used PDGFRα and Nestin to trace PDLSCs during OTM in rats. We treat human PDLSCs with 100 kpa static pressure for 1 h or 12 h in vitro, and examined the phenotypic changes and expression of RANKL and OPG in these cells.ResultsIn vivo, we found that positive signals of PDGFRα and Nestin in the PDL gradually increased and then decreased on the pressure side to which pressure was applied. In vitro, the osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs was significantly increased after force treatment for 1 h relative to 12 h. In contrast, the expression ratio of RANKL/OPG was reduced at 1 h and significantly increased at 12 h. Furthermore, we found that the Wnt/β-catenin pathway was dynamically activated in the PDL and in PDLSCs after mechanical stimulation. Importantly, the canonical Wnt pathway inhibitor DKK1 blocked the osteogenesis effect and rescued the ratio of RANKL/OPG in PDLSCs under force treatment for 1 h.ConclusionsOur findings reveal that PDLSCs participate in OTM and that the Wnt/β-catenin pathway maintains bone homeostasis during tooth movement by regulating the balance between osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity.General significanceWe describe a novel potential mechanism related to tooth movement.  相似文献

Miniscrews are used as orthodontic anchorage devices in the dentistry clinical practice but the in vivo metallic release from these structures has been not previously investigated. The aim of this study was to determine the content of Al, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Ti and V in oral mucosa cells of control subjects, patients under orthodontic treatment and with both, orthodontic treatment and miniscrew, in order to know the contribution of these mini-implants to the total metallic content. ICP-MS measurements revealed the following ascending order: Cr < Ni < Ti < Cu < Al, and Co and V were practically undetected. Significant differences in comparison to the control group were found for Cu in the orthodontic group, and for Ni in both, orthodontic and orthodontic + miniscrew groups. Potential correlations among metallic elements and with some clinical factors were also explored. These findings suggest that miniscrews do not increase significantly the metal release.  相似文献

While orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) gains considerable popularity and clinical success, the roles played by relevant tissues involved, particularly periodontal ligament (PDL), remain an open question in biomechanics. This paper develops a soft-tissue induced external (surface) remodeling procedure in a form of power law formulation by correlating time-dependent simulation in silico with clinical data in vivo (p<0.05), thereby providing a systematic approach for further understanding and prediction of OTM. The biomechanical stimuli, namely hydrostatic stress and displacement vectors experienced in PDL, are proposed to drive tooth movement through an iterative hyperelastic finite element analysis (FEA) procedure. This algorithm was found rather indicative and effective to simulate OTM under different loading conditions, which is of considerable potential to predict therapeutical outcomes and develop a surgical plan for sophisticated orthodontic treatment.  相似文献

The use of surface electromyography (SEMG) in vibration studies is problematic since motion artifacts occupy the same frequency band with the SEMG signal containing information on synchronous motor unit activity. We hypothesize that using a harsher, 80–500 Hz band-pass filter and using rectification can help eliminate motion artifacts and provide a way to observe synchronous motor unit activity that is phase locked to vibration using SEMG recordings only. Multi Motor Unit (MMU) action potentials using intramuscular electrodes along with SEMG were recorded from the gastrocnemius medialis (GM) of six healthy male volunteers. Data were collected during whole body vibration, using vibration frequencies of 30 Hz, 35 Hz, 40 Hz or 50 Hz. A computer simulation was used to investigate the efficacy of filtering under different scenarios: with or without artifacts and/or motor unit synchronization. Our findings indicate that motor unit synchronization took place during WBV as verified by MMU recordings. A harsh filtering regimen along with rectification proved successful in demonstrating motor unit synchronization in SEMG recordings. Our findings were further supported by the results from the computer simulation, which indicated that filtering and rectification was efficient in discriminating motion artifacts from motor unit synchronization. We suggest that the proposed signal processing technique may provide a new methodology to evaluate the effects of vibration treatments using only SEMG. This is a major advantage, as this non-intrusive method is able to overcome movement artifacts and also indicate the synchronization of underlying motor units.  相似文献

PurposeVibratory stimuli enhance muscle activity and may be used for rehabilitation and performance enhancement. Efficacy of vibration varies with the frequency of stimulation, but the optimal frequency is unclear. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of 30 Hz and 60 Hz local muscle vibration (LMV) on quadriceps function.MethodsTwenty healthy volunteers (age = 20.4 ± 1.4 years, mass = 68.1 ± 11.0 kg, height = 170.1 ± 8.8 cm, males = 9) participated. Isometric knee extensor peak torque (PT), rate of torque development (RTD), and electromyography (EMG) of the quadriceps were assessed followed by one of the three LMV treatments (30 Hz, 60 Hz, control) applied under voluntary contraction, and again immediately, 5, 15, and 30 min post-treatment in three counterbalanced sessions. Dependent variables were analyzed using condition by time repeated-measures ANOVA.ResultsThe condition × time interaction was significant for EMG amplitude (p = 0.001), but not for PT (p = 0.324) or RTD (p = 0.425). The increase in EMG amplitude following 30 Hz LMV was significantly greater than 60 Hz LMV and control.ConclusionsThese findings suggest that 30 Hz LMV may elicit an improvement in quadriceps activation and could be used to treat quadriceps dysfunction resulting from knee pathologies.  相似文献

PurposeThe present study was designed to investigate the electromyographic (EMG) response in leg muscles to whole-body vibration while using different body positions and vibration frequencies.MethodsTwenty male sport sciences students voluntarily participated in this single-group, repeated-measures study in which EMG data from the vastus lateralis (VL) and the lateral gastrocnemius (LG) were collected over a total of 36 trials for each subject (4 static positions × 9 frequencies).ResultsWe found that vibration frequency, body position and the muscle stimulated had a significant effect (P-values ranged from 0.001 to 0.031) on the EMG response. Similarly, the muscle × frequency and position × muscle interactions were significant (P < 0.001). Interestingly, the frequency × positions interactions were not significant (P > 0.05).ConclusionsOur results indicate that lower frequencies of vibration (25–35 Hz) result in maximal activation of LG, whereas higher frequencies (45–55 Hz) elicit the highest responses in the VL. In addition, the position P2 (half squat position with the heels raised) is beneficial both for VL and LG, independently of the vibration frequency.  相似文献

Harmonic tension–compression tests at 0.1, 0.5 and 1 Hz on hydrated bovine periodontal ligament (PDL) were numerically simulated. The process was modeled by finite elements (FE) within the framework of poromechanics, with the objective of isolating the contributions of the solid- and fluid phases. The solid matrix was modeled as a porous hyperelastic material (hyperfoam) through which the incompressible fluid filling the pores flowed in accordance with the Darcy’s law. The hydro-mechanical coupling between the porous solid matrix and the fluid phase circulating through it provided an apparent time-dependent response to the PDL, whose rate of deformation depended on the permeability of the porous solid with respect to the interstitial fluid. Since the PDL was subjected to significant deformations, finite strains were taken into account and an exponential dependence of PDL permeability on void ratio – and therefore on the deformation state – was assumed. PDL constitutive parameters were identified by fitting the simulated response to the experimental data for the tests at 1 Hz. The values thus obtained were then used to simulate the tests at 0.1 and 0.5 Hz. The results of the present simulation demonstrate that a porohyperelastic model with variable permeability is able to describe the two main aspects of the PDL’s response: (1) the dependency on strain-rate—the saturated material can develop volumetric strains by only exchanging fluid and (2) the asymmetry between tension and compression, which is due to the effect of both the permeability and the elastic properties on deformation.  相似文献

In this study we have investigated the effect of whole body vibration (WBV) on the tendon reflex (T-reflex) amplitude. Fifteen young adult healthy volunteer males were included in this study. Records of surface EMG of the right soleus muscle and accelerometer taped onto the right Achilles tendon were obtained while participant stood upright with the knees in extension, on the vibration platform. Tendon reflex was elicited before and during WBV. Subjects completed a set of WBV. Each WBV set consisted of six vibration sessions using different frequencies (25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 Hz) applied randomly. In each WBV session the Achilles tendon was tapped five times with a custom-made reflex hammer. The mean peak-to-peak (PP) amplitude of T-reflex was 1139.11 ± 498.99 µV before vibration. It decreased significantly during WBV (p < 0.0001). The maximum PP amplitude of T-reflex was 1333 ± 515 μV before vibration. It decreased significantly during WBV (p < 0.0001). No significant differences were obtained in the mean acceleration values of Achilles tendon with tapping between before and during vibration sessions. This study showed that T-reflex is suppressed during WBV. T-reflex suppression indicates that the spindle primary afferents must have been pre-synaptically inhibited during WBV similar to the findings in high frequency tendon vibration studies.  相似文献

Whole body vibration (WBV) during exercise offers potential to augment the effects of basic exercises. However, to date there is limited information on the basic physiological and biomechanical effects of WBV on skeletal muscles. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of WBV (40 Hz, 1.9 mm synchronous vertical displacement) on the myoelectrical activity of selected plantarflexors during heel raise exercise. 3D motion capture of the ankle, synchronised with sEMG of the lateral gastrocnemius and soleus, was obtained during repetitive heel raises carried out at 0.5 Hz on 10 healthy male subjects (age 27 ± 5 years, height 1.78 ± 0.04 m, weight 75.75 ± 11.9 kg). During both vibration and non vibration the soleus activation peaked earlier than that of the lateral gastrocnemius. The results indicate that WBV has no effect on the timing of exercise completion or the amplitude of the lateral gastrocnemius activity, however significant increases in amplitudes of the soleus muscle activity (77.5–90.4% MVC P < 0.05). WBV had no significant effect on median frequencies of either muscle. The results indicate that the greatest effect of WBV during heel raise activity is in the soleus muscles during the early phases of heel raise.  相似文献

Many studies reported benefits of whole-body vibration (WBV) on muscle force production. Therefore, WBV may be an important technique for muscle re-education. However vibrating platforms are heavy tools that cannot be easily used by all patients. Thus, we propose to apply vibrations directly to the Achilles tendon at rest with a portable vibrator. We investigated whether 14 days of such a vibration program would enhance triceps surae force production in healthy subjects. If successful, such a protocol could be utilized to prevent deleterious effects of hypo-activity. Twenty-nine healthy students participated in this study. The electrical evoked twitch and maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) in plantar-flexion, and electromyograms (EMG) were quantified before and at the end of the program. The vibration program consisted of 14 days of daily vibration applied at rest (duration: 1 h; frequency: 50 Hz). After the program, there was an increase in MVC associated with greater EMG of the TS. No sign of hypertrophy were found on the twitch parameters and the EMG–torque relationships. Repeated vibrations of the Achilles tendon lead to an increase in plantar-flexor activation and thus to greater force developed in voluntary conditions whilst the contractile properties assessed by the twitch are not modified. This program could be beneficial to persons with hypo-activity who are not candidates for WBV.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of chromium supplementation on the glucose homeostasis and anthropometry of type 2 diabetic patients.Material and methodsFifty-six individuals with type 2 Diabetes were randomized on a double blind clinical trial into three groups: placebo (NC0), 50 μg (NC50) and 200 μg (NC200) of chromium nicotinate. Glucose homeostasis, anthropometry and physical activity intensity were evaluated at the beginning, at day 45 and at day 90. Energy intake was evaluated at the beginning, between the beginning and 45 days, and between days 45 and 90 of the study.ResultsThere were no differences within or between groups for HOMA-IR, waist circumference, body fat percentage, lean body mass percentage and total energy intake during the trial. There was an increase of the HOMA-β in group NC0 (p = 0.0349) and a decrease of 1.08 kg in group NC50 (p = 0.0048) at 90 days. The relation between body mass index, body fat percentage and insulin sensitivity did not change in the placebo and supplemented groups (p > 0.05). In the effect of the intervention, for each 1 cm increase in waist circumference there was an increase of 1.90 ± 0.63 in HOMA-IR (p = 0.0087) and 16.31 ± 5.27% in HOMA-β (p = 0.0073) in group NC200. No difference was seen in the intensity of physical activity within the groups and in the comparison between the supplemented groups (NC50 and NC200) and placebo (NC0) at 90 days. There was an increase in energy expenditure in physical activity at 90 days (p = 0.0371) of intervention in the group subjects NC50. As for total energy intake, there were no differences within or between the groups during the study.Conclusion50 μg and 200 μg supplementation with chromium nicotinate for 90 days did not promote improvements in glucose homeostasis and anthropometry in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.  相似文献

Cancer risk and radiation sensitivity are often associated with alterations in DNA repair, cell cycle, or apoptotic pathways. Interindividual variability in mutagen or radiation sensitivity and in cancer susceptibility may also be traced back to polymorphisms of genes affecting e.g. DNA repair capacity. We studied possible associations between 70 polymorphisms of 12 DNA repair genes with basal and initial DNA damage and with repair thereof. We investigated DNA damage induced by ionizing radiation in lymphocytes isolated from 177 young lung cancer patients and 169 cancer-free controls. We also sought replication of our findings in an independent sample of 175 families (in total 798 individuals). DNA damage was assessed by the Olive tail moment (OTM) of the comet assay. DNA repair capacity (DRC) was determined for 10, 30 and, 60 min of repair.Genes involved in the single-strand-repair pathway (SSR; like XRCC1 and MSH2) as well as genes involved in the double-strand-repair pathway (DSR; like RAD50, XRCC4, MRE11 and ATM) were found to be associated with DNA damage. The most significant association was observed for marker rs3213334 (p = 0.005) of XRCC1 with basal DNA damage (B), in both cases and controls. A clear additive effect on the logarithm of OTM was identified for the marker rs1001581 of the same LD-block (p = 0.039): BCC = −1.06 (95%-CI: −1.16 to −0.96), BCT = −1.02 (95%-CI: −1.11 to −0.93) and BTT = −0.85 (95%-CI: −1.01 to −0.68). In both cases and controls, we observed significantly higher DNA basal damage (p = 0.007) for carriers of the genotype AA of marker rs2237060 of RAD50 (involved in DSR). However, this could not be replicated in the sample of families (p = 0.781). An alteration to DRC after 30 min of repair with respect to cases was observed as borderline significant for marker rs611646 of ATM (involved in DSR; p = 0.055), but was the most significant finding in the sample of families (p = 0.009).Our data indicate that gene variation impacts measurably on DNA damage and repair, suggesting at least a partial contribution to radiation sensitivity and lung cancer susceptibility.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of mental fatigue on mechanically induced tremor at both a low (3–6 Hz) and high (8–12 Hz) frequency were investigated. The two distinct tremor frequencies were evoked using two springs of different stiffness, during 20 s sustained contractions of the knee extensor muscles at 30% maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) before and after 100 min of a mental fatigue task, in 12 healthy (29 ± 3.7 years) participants. Mental fatigue resulted in a 6.9% decrease in MVC and in a 9.4% decrease in the amplitude of the agonist muscle EMG during sustained 30% MVC contractions in the induced high frequency only. Following the mental fatigue task, the coefficient of variation and standard deviation of the force signal decreased at 8–12 Hz induced tremor by 31.7% and 35.2% respectively, but not at 3–6 Hz induced tremor. Similarly, the maximum value and area underneath the peak in the power spectrum of the force signal decreased by 55.5% and 53.1% respectively in the 8–12 Hz range only. In conclusion, mental fatigue decreased mechanically induced 8–12 Hz tremor and had no effect on induced 3–6 Hz tremor. We suggest that the reduction could be attributed to the decreased activation of the agonist muscles.  相似文献

The dichloromethane/methanol (1:1) extract of the stem bark of Millettia usaramensis subspecies usaramensis was tested for its larvicidal activity against the 4th instar Aedes aegypti larvae and demonstrated activity with LC50 value of 50.8 ± 0.06 μg/mL at 48 h. Compounds isolated from the extract were also tested for their larvicidal activities, and the rotenoid usararotenoid-A (LC50 4.3 ± 0.8 μg/mL at 48 h) was identified as the most active principle. This compound appears to be the first rotenoid having a trans-B/C ring junction and methylenedioxy group at C-2/C-3 with high larvicidal activity. Related rotenoids with the same configuration at the B/C-ring junction did not show significant activity at 100 μg/mL.  相似文献

High-density surface electromyography was used to examine whether gross sarcolemmal function is impaired in m. biceps brachii after intensive eccentric elbow flexor exercise, when measured at wide range of isometric contraction levels.Root mean square (RMS), mean power frequency (MNF) and mean muscle fibre conduction velocity (CV) were calculated before and up to four days post-exercise.Maximal isometric voluntary (MVC) force decreased by 21.3 ± 5.6% two hours after exercise, and by 12.6 ± 11.1% two days post-exercise. CV and MNF decreased both during MVC (CV from 4.1 ± 0.3 m/s to 3.8 ± 0.4 m/s and MNF from 92.6 ± 10 Hz to 85.2 ± 11 Hz) and during electrically evoked maximal M-wave (CV from 4.1 ± 0.3 m/s to 3.0 ± 0.5 m/s and MNF from 97.1 ± 27.2 Hz to 78.0 ± 24.4 Hz) two hours post-exercise. Furthermore, at submaximal isometric force levels, CV and MNF decreased only at higher contraction levels (40%, 50% and 75% of MVC) two hour post-exercise.It can be concluded that intensive exercise can temporarily impair gross sarcolemmal function. In addition, since this only occurred at high force levels, based on Henneman’s size principle, it seems that higher threshold motor units were predominantly affected.  相似文献

Abstract

Orthodontic tooth movement is mainly regulated by the biomechanical responses of loaded periodontal ligament (PDL). We investigated the effective intervals of orthodontic force in pure maxillary canine intrusion and extrusion referring to PDL hydrostatic stress and logarithmic strain. Finite element analysis (FEA) models, including a maxillary canine, PDL and alveolar bone, were constructed based on computed tomography (CT) images of a patient. The material properties of alveolar bone were non-uniformly defined using HU values of CT images; PDL was assumed to be a hyperelastic–viscoelastic material. The compressive stress and tensile stress ranging from 0.47 to 12.8?kPa and 18.8 to 51.2?kPa, respectively, were identified as effective for tooth movement; a strain 0.24% was identified as the lower limit of effective strain. The stress/strain distributions within PDL were acquired in canine intrusion and extrusion using FEA; root apex was the main force-bearing area in intrusion–extrusion movements and was more prone to resorption. Owing to the distinction of PDL biomechanical responses to compression and tension, the effective interval of orthodontic force was substantially lower in canine intrusion (80–90?g) than in canine extrusion (230–260?g). A larger magnitude of force remained applicable in canine extrusion. This study revised and complemented orthodontic biomechanical behaviours of tooth movement with intrusive–extrusive force and could further help optimize orthodontic treatment.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the muscular activation of the forearm, with or without vibration stimuli at different frequencies while performing a grip tasks of 45 s at various level of exerted force. In 16 individuals, 9 females and 7 males, the surface electromyogram (EMG) of extensor carpi radialis longus and the flexor carpi ulnari muscles were assessed. At a short latency from onset EMG, RMS and the level of MU synchronization were assessed to evaluate the muscular adaptations. Whilst a trend of decay of EMG Median frequency (MDFd) was employed as an index of muscular fatigue. Muscular tasks consists of the grip of an instrumented handle at a force level of 20%, 30%, 40%, 60% of the maximum voluntary force. Vibration was supplied by a shaker to the hand in mono-frequential waves at 20, 30, 33 and 40 Hz. In relation to EMG, RMS and MU synchronization, the muscular activation does not seem to change with the superimposition of the mechanical vibrations, on the contrary a lower MDFd was observed at 33 Hz than in absence of vibration. This suggests an early muscular fatigue induced by vibration due to the fact that 33 Hz is a resonance frequency for the hand-arm system.  相似文献

The aim of the investigation was to study the effect of purity and the type of serum albumin on in vitro fertilization (IVF) and cleavage rate of in vitro matured goat oocytes. Ovaries were collected from the local abattoir and transported within 4 h to the laboratory in warm saline (37 °C) containing 100 IU penicillin-G and 100 μg streptomycin sulfate per ml. A total of 2509 cumulus oocyte complexes (COCs) were collected from 1313 ovaries. Oocytes were matured in TCM-199 medium containing FSH (5 μg/ml), LH (5 μg/ml) and estradiol-17β (1 μg/ml), supplemented with 20% fetal bovine serum at 38.5 °C and 5% CO2 in an incubator under humidified air for 27 h. After 27 h of in vitro maturation (IVM), oocytes were denuded, washed and randomly divided into 4 groups. Group 1 consisted of in vitro matured oocytes (n = 627) co-incubated with sperm in a 50 μl drop of TALP medium containing a 6 mg/ml crystalline bovine serum albumin (BSA) fraction V and 10 μg/ml heparin. Group 2 was comprised of in vitro matured oocytes (n = 470), co-incubated with sperm in a 50 μl drop of TALP medium containing 3 mg/ml crystalline BSA fraction V, 10% estrous goat serum and 10 μg/ml heparin. Group 3 was comprised of in vitro matured oocytes (n = 489) co-incubated with sperm in a 50 μl drop of TALP medium containing a 6 mg/ml fatty acid free BSA and 10 μg/ml heparin. Group 4 consisted of in vitro matured oocytes (n = 422) co-incubated with sperm in a 50 μl drop of TALP medium containing 20% estrous goat serum and 10 μg/ml heparin. After 18 h of co-incubation, the oocyte–sperm mixture was washed in the culture medium 15–20 times and cultured in 50 μl EDM. Cleavage of the in vitro fertilized oocytes were recorded 48 h post-insemination under an inverted phase contrast microscope. The average oocyte recovery rate/ovary and maturation rate was 1.91% and 80.03%, respectively. The cleavage rate in Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4 was 1.59%, 8.93%, 11.86% and 35.30%, respectively. It could be concluded that the use of fatty acid free albumin resulted in a significantly higher (P < 0.05) cleavage rate, compared to unmodified albumin, and the supplementation of 20% estrous goat serum in the fertilization medium, significantly (P < 0.05) increased the cleavage rate of in vitro matured goat oocytes, compared to defatted albumin.  相似文献

Cancer cachexia is a multifactorial syndrome characterised by progressive weight loss, frequently accompanied by anorexia, sarcopenia, and chronic systemic inflammation. The white adipose tissue is markedly affected by cachexia and contributes to this syndrome throught the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors which reach the adjacent tissues and the circulation. A nonpharmacologic intervention that may attenuate cancer cachexia is chronic physical activity, but the effect of resistance training upon adipose tissue inflammation in cachexia has never been examined. For that purpose we designed a protocol in which animals were randomly assigned to a control group (CT, n = 7), a Tumour bearing group (TB, n = 7), a Resistance Trained group (RT, n = 7) and a Resistance Trained tumour bearing group (RTTB, n = 7). Trained rats climbed a vertical ladder with an extra load attached to the tail, representing 75–90% of total body mass, 3 times per week, for 8 weeks. In the 6th week of resistance training, tumour cells (3 × 107 Walker 256 carcinosarcoma) were inoculated in the tumour groups. Body, adipose tissue, muscle and tumour mass was determined, as well a blood biochemical parameters, and the hormone and cytokine profile assessed. The glycogen content of the liver and muscle was measured. IL-10, IL-6 and TNF-α protein expression was evaluated in the mesenteric adipose tissue (MEAT) examined. Resistance training increased by 9% body weight gain in RTTB (final weight 310.8 ± 9.8 g), when compared with TB (final weight 288.3 ± 4.9 g). LDL-c levels were decreased in RTTB (0.28 ± 0.9 mmol/L) by 43% when compared with TB (0.57 ± 0.1 mmol/L). HDL-c levels were increased in RTTB (1.31 ± 0.12 mmol/L) by 15% in regard to CT (1.13 ± 0.7 mmol/L) and 22% as compared with TB (1.07 ± 0.07 mmol/L). RTTB testosterone levels (577 ± 131 ng/mL) were 55% higher when compared with CT (254 ± 41.3 ng/mL) and 63% higher when compared with TB (221 ± 23.1 ng/mL). Adiponectin levels were augmented in RT (23 μg/mL) by 43% when compared with TB (11 μg/mL). Protein expression of IL-6 was increased 38% in TB MEAT (5.95 pg/μg), as compared with CT (3.64 pg/μg) and 50% compared with RTTB (2.91 pg/μg). Similar results with respect to TNF-α TB (7.18 pg/μg) were observed: 39% and 46%, higher protein expression in comparison with CT (4.63 pg/μg) and RTTB (3.8 pg/μg), respectively. IL-10 protein expression was found to be increased in TB (4.4 pg/μg) and RTTB (3.2 pg/μg) 50% and 47%, respectively, in comparison with CT (1.2 pu/μg). The IL-10/TNF-α ratio was higher in RTTB in relation to all others experimental groups. The results show a robust effect of resistance exercise training in preventing important symptoms of cancer cachexia, thus strongly suggesting it may appear as an alternative to endurance exercise as a non-pharmacological therapy in the management of this syndrome.  相似文献
