Earlier analyses ofrbcL sequences clarified phylogenetic relationships of 16 of 17 subfamilies ofSaxifragaceae s. l. This study investigates the affinities of the monotypicEremosynoideae, the only subfamily ofSaxifragaceae s. l. not examined previously forrbcL sequence variation. Our analyses suggest thatEremosyne is only distantly related to core members ofSaxifragaceae s. l. (i.e.Saxifragoideae = Saxifragaceae s. str.); it is allied instead with members ofAsteridae. A particularly close relationship is indicated betweenEremosyne andEscallonia, another traditional member ofSaxifragaceae s. l. that also appears as part ofAsteridae. Inclusion ofEremosyne withinAsteridae is in agreement with embryology, as well as with 18S rDNA sequence data. 相似文献

Relationships among the morphologically diverse members of Saxifragaceae sensu lato were inferred using 130 18S rDNA sequences. Phylogenetic analyses were conducted using representatives of all 17 subfamilies of Saxifragaceae sensu lato, as well as numerous additional taxa traditionally assigned to subclasses Magnoliidae, Caryophyllidae, Hamamelidae, Dilleniidae, Rosidae, and Asteridae. This analysis indicates that Saxifragaceae should be narrowly defined (Saxifragaceae sensu stricto) to consist of ~30 herbaceous genera. Furthermore, Saxifragaceae s. s. are part of a well-supported clade (referred to herein as Saxifragales) that also comprises lteoideae, Pterostemonoideae, Ribesioideae, Penthoroideae, and Tetracarpaeoideae, all traditional subfamilies of Saxifragaceae sensu lato, as well as Crassulaceae and Haloragaceae (both of subclass Rosidae). Paeoniaceae (Dilleniideae), and Hamamelidaceae, Cercidiphyllaceae, and Daphniphyllaceae (all of Hamamelidae). The remaining subfamilies of Saxifragaceae sensu lato fall outside this clade. Francoa (Francooideae) and Bauera (Baueroideae) are allied, respectively, with the rosid families Greyiaceae and Cunoniaceae. Brexia (Brexioideae), Parnassia (Parnassioideae), and Lepuropetolon (Lepuropetaloideae) appear in a clade with Celastraceae. Representatives of Phyllonomoideae, Eremosynoideae, Hydrangeoideae, Escallonioideae, Montinioideae, and Vahlioideae are related to taxa belonging to an expanded asterid clade (Asteridae sensu lato). The relationships suggested by analysis of 18S rDNA sequences are highly concordant with those suggested by analysis of rbcL sequences. Furthermore, these relationships are also supported in large part by other lines of evidence, including embryology. serology, and iridoid chemistry. 相似文献

Fourteen species ofAsarum s. str.,Asiasarum andHeterotropa were studied cytotaxonomically. Their karyotypes and C-banding patterns were examined in detail. The results obtained were
different in some important respects from previous reports related to the chromosomes of these plants, and were partially
disharmonious with the assumptions presented for the relationships among these genera by some previous workers. Furthermore,
it was confirmed thatAsarum s. str. (2n=26) (excludingAsarum leptophyllum),Asiasarum (2n=26),Heterotropa (2n=24) andAsarum leptophyllum (2n=24) are distinct from one another in the karyotype and the C-banding pattern of a few pairs of the small chromosomes
in each set. The significance of these small chromosomes in considering the relationships among the plants concerned is discussed. 相似文献

The phylogeny of Japanese species ofChrysosplenium (Saxifragaceae) was examined using variation in DNA sequences.
Sequences ofrbcL andmatK genes were compared for their feasibility for reconstructing the phylogeny ofChrysosplenium, and thematK sequences was found to give greater resolution. All but one of the 17 Japanese species have been examined formatK gene sequences and phylogenetic analysis of these data resulted in eight most parsimonious trees of 390 steps and a consistency
index (Cl) of 0.823. The molecular phylogeny obtained was generally in agreement with Hara's (1957) classification based upon
phenotypic similarity, although a conclusion needs extensive examination of the genus on a world-wide level. Using the phylogenetic
data, character evolution was examined, especially in the characters traditionally used for grouping infrageneric taxa. Differentiation
of opposite and alternate phyllotaxis appears to have occurred only once in the course of evolution ofChrysosplenium. 相似文献

Systematic studies of the antarctic species of the phyllophoraceae (Gigartinales,Rhodophyta) based on rbcL sequence analysis 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The taxonomic placement of four antarctic species of the marine red algal family Phyllophoraceae (Gigartinales) is assessed within a preliminary molecular phylogeny of the family based on direct sequence analysis of the chloroplast gene rbcL. Parsimony analysis of rbcL sequences indicates that Gymnogongrus antarcticus and Gymnogongrus turquetii cluster in a clade consisting predominantly of southern hemisphere species currently placed in Gymnogongrus and Ahnfeltiopsis, whereas Phyllophora ahnfeltioides and Phyllophora antarctica cluster in a separate clade that is widely divergent from the northern hemisphere Phyllophora clade. Results from molecular and morphological data challenge the current taxonomic concept that type of life history is a phylogenetically valid criterion for recognition of genera in the Phyllophoraceae. 相似文献

Representatives of theC. pratensis complex were analysed for allozymes, ITS, non-coding cpDNA, and RAPDs to elucidate phylogenetic relationships and the historical biogeography of this species group. Our concepts differ in some important aspects from current ideas. Two diploid species from southeastern Europe form the Basal Group of the complex. A diploid from the Iberian Peninsula represents another old lineage. The phylogenetically younger Derived Group comprises diploid taxa and all known polyploid taxa. The two old lineages represent pleistocene relicts which were not involved in the formation of the Derived Group. All polyploids evolved in postglacial time from diploids of the Derived Group which may have survived the glaciations in refugia centered around and within the Alps. The arctic-circumpolarC. nymanii is of young age and migrated to Scandinavia in postglacial times from south to north. 相似文献

Sequences of chloroplast gene rbcL and partial nuclear 26S rDNA were used to evaluate phylogenetic relationships of Asteropyrum. Four primary clades were recognized in Ranunculaceae, corresponding to subfamilies Hydrastidoideae, Coptidoideae, Thalictroideae,
and Ranunculoideae. Our results place Asteropyrum in Ranunculoideae, sister to the tribe Actaeeae, which includes Beesia, Cimicifuga, and Eranthis. This is supported by chromosome characters, including chromosome size and basic number, and the stainability of prophase
chromosomes and interphase nuclei. Our results do not support previous placements of Asteropyrum in either Coptidoideae or Thalictroideae. Considering its uniqueness in a few characters (e.g. simple peltate leaves, accumulating
benzylisoquinoline alkaloids, vessel elements with only typical scalariform perforation plates), we recognize Asteropyrum as a monotypic tribe of Ranunculoideae, Asteropyreae W. T. Wang et C. Y. Chang. 相似文献

We estimated the phylogenetic position of the pseudosegmented ribbon worm Annulonemertes minusculus to test proposed evolutionary hypotheses to explain these body constrictions. The analysis is based on 18S rDNA sequences and shows that the species belongs to an apomorphic clade of hoplonemertean species. The segmentation has no phylogenetic bearing as previously discussed, but is a derived character probably coupled to the species' interstitial habitat. 相似文献

Traditional classification in the genus Capra is based mainly on horn morphology. However, previous investigations based on allozyme data are not consistent with this classification. We thus reexamined the evolutionary history of the genus by analyzing mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence variation. We collected bone samples from museums or dead animals found in the field. Thirty-four individuals were successfully sequenced for a portion of the mtDNA cytochrome b gene and control region (500 bp in total). We obtained a star-like phylogeny supporting a rapid radiation of the genus. In accordance with traditional classification, mtDNA data support the presence of two clades in the Caucasus and the hypothesis of a domestication event in the Fertile Crescent. However, in conflict with morphology, we found that C. aegagrus and C. ibex are polyphyletic species, and we propose a new scenario for Capra immigration into Europe. 相似文献

We sequenced the chloroplast rubisco large subunit (rbcL) gene in 236 samples of Porphyra sensu lato from the northeast Pacific. Comparisons of sequences within the study area as well as comparisons with published
sequences revealed up to five cryptic species among the 22 named species: a species closely related to Porphyra abbottiae, a species previously identified as P. pseudolinearis, a species closely related to P. pseudolanceolata and previously identified as that species, a previously unknown species from the eastern Aleutian Islands, and a species
closely related to P. schizophylla and previously identified as that species. All of these previously unrecognized species had high bootstrap values separating
them from the other species. In addition, our wide geographic sampling allowed us to extend, curtail or clarify the geographic
ranges of a number of the species. We also provide published sequences for P. gardneri and P. smithii for the first time. We compared amount of sequence divergence within species grouped on the basis of sexuality (monoecious,
sectored into separate male and female “halves”, or dioecious), habitat (high, mid, or low intertidal/subtidal), and seasonality
(winter, spring, or summer) using Tukey’s HSD t test, but we observed no significant differences between species grouped in this manner. Different species showed different
levels of genetic variation in the rbcL gene apparently unrelated to these traits. Also, we observed no differences in the patterns of genetic variation in a species
based on whether the specimens were collected from outside or from within the region covered by ice during Pleistocene glaciations. 相似文献

The ultrastructure of dikaryotic haustoria of sevenPucciniastrum species,Thekopsora galii, Naohidemyces vaccinii, andCalyptospora goeppertiana was investigated.Pucciniastrum actinidiae, P. agrimoniae, P. pyrolae, andCalyptospora goeppertiana revealed haustoria whose necks were wrapped by a fold of the extrahaustorial matrix. The matrix-fold ofCalyptospora goeppertiana was characteristically shaped.Pucciniastrum circaeae, P. epilobii, P. hikosanense, P. styracinum, Thekopsora galii, andNaohidemyces vaccinii showed typical haustorial necks which were not sheathed by a matrix-fold. Haustorial necks which were wrapped by a fold of the extrahaustorial matrix were designated velopedunculate, and those which were naked gymnopedunculate. The application of haustorial ultrastructure as a character for use in systematics is discussed.Part 112 of the series Studies in Heterobasidiomycetes. 相似文献

Cassia L. sensu lato, a large heterogeneous genus of flowering plants, occurs naturally in the tropics around the world. Recent works based on floral morphology have supported a division of this genus into three genera, namely Cassia L. s. str., Chamaecrista Moench and Senna Mill. In order to investigate this new classification, 508 specimens of 18 taxa of the genus Cassia s.l. grown in Thailand were analyzed using cluster analysis and canonical discriminant analysis. The total 32 vegetative and reproductive morphological characters were employed in these analyses. In cluster analysis, Cassia s.l. can be separated into four groups, respectively viz. Chamaecrista, Senna alata, Senna and Cassia s /str. The four-cluster grouping is discussed. From a canonical discriminant analysis using the four-cluster grouping as a priori groups, it can be concluded that Cassia s. str., Senna, and Chamaecrista are indeed distinct taxa. The three most important characters that separate the three genera are filament length, fruit length, and ovary stalk length. These quantitative characters, together with some qualitative characters, were useful in constructing an identification key to these genera. Among the three genera, it was also found that Senna is rather a heterogeneous taxon. The difference between the studied species was discussed. 相似文献

Genomic relationships between species of theElymus semicostatus group andElymus sensu lato (Poaceae)
Meiotic pairing behaviour in 19 interspecificElymus hybrids is reported and discussed. The hybrids were made between four species belonging to theE. semicostatus group of sect.Goulardia, viz.,E. semicostatus, E. abolinii, E. fedtschenkoi, andE. panormitanus (all 2n = 28), andElymus species of seven different sections, viz., sect.Clinelymiopsis:E. caucasicus (2n = 28); sect.Elymus:E. sibiricus (2n = 28); sect.Goulardia:E. caninus (2n = 28),E. trachycaulus (2n = 28), andE. tsukushiensis (2n = 42); sect.Hyalolepis:E. batalinii (2n = 42); sect.Hystrix:E. hystrix (2n = 28); sect.Macrolepis:E. canadensis (2n = 28); and sect.Turczaninovia:E. dahuricus (2n = 42). Chromosomal pairing at meiotic metaphase I indicated that the species of theE. semicostatus group are genomically closer to the tetraploidE. caucasicus and the hexaploid species, regardless of sectional origin, than to the other tetraploid species of sectionGoulardia. Highest meiotic pairing was found in hybrids involvingE. caucasicus, E. tsukushiensis, andE. dahuricus. The presence of pairing regulating genes inE. abolinii is suspected. 相似文献

We report results of karyotype analyses using nine species of Maianthemum from China. The species, except M. atropurpureum (with 2n=72), had 2n=36, and the results support the earlier suggestion that Maianthemum has x=18 with 2n=36 in most species. The species examined, however, showed marked differences in karyotype, particularly in the numbers of metacentric, submetacentric, and acrocentric chromosomes as well as in the number of satellites. In addition, we distinguished three different modes based on the number of clear gaps in chromosome length variation: unimodal, bimodal, and trimodal. The unimodal variation (with no gap) was found in M. dahuricum and M. atropurpureum, the bimodal variation (with one gap) in M. tatsienense, and the trimodal variation (with two gaps) in M. bifolium, M. forrestii, M. japonicum, M. henryi, M. purpureum, and M. lichiangense. In the trimodal variation, the positions of the two gaps may differ from species to species. In addition, the frequency of acrocentric chromosomes per complement was generally higher in the trimodal variation than in the unimodal and bimodal variations. Results of our analyses, which had not been clearly presented prior to this, may provide a better understanding of species evolution in the tribe Polygonatae. 相似文献

TherbcL gene of 25 taxa was sequenced and analyzed cladistically in order to define more precisely the orderAsterales s.l. and to reconstruct the phylogeny ofGoodeniaceae. The cladistic analyses show that theAsterales comprise the familiesAbrophyllaceae, Alseuosmiaceae, Argophyllaceae, Asteraceae, Calyceraceae, Campanulaceae s.l.,Donatiaceae, Goodeniaceae (includingBrunoniaceae),Menyanthaceae, Pentaphragmataceae, andStylidiaceae. Abrophyllaceae, Alseuosmiaceae, Brunoniaceae, andDonatiaceae have previously not been studied in this respect. Within theGoodeniaceae, four groups supported by therbcL data can be distinguished: the genusLechenaultia, theAnthotium-Dampiera-group, the genusBrunonia, and a group formed by the remaining genera, theScaevola-Goodenia-group. 相似文献

The molecular systematics of some agar- and carrageenan-containing marine red algae based on rbcL sequence analysis 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
A hypothesis of phylogenetic relationships inferred by parsimony analysis of plastid-encoded rbcL sequences is presented for red algae containing agar- and carrageenan-like phycocolloids; rbcL encodes the large subunit of ribulose 1,5 bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase. Previous studies have shown that Floridean families that contain sulfated galactans as cell wall components are resolved as a monophyletic clade sister to the agarophyte order Ahnfeltiales. Families that have been identified as containing kappa-type carrageenans, often in addition to lambda-type carrageenans, are resolved in three clades: (1) a complex containing the families Solieriaceae, Cystocloniaceae, Hypneaceae, Caulacanthaceae, Tichocarpaceae, Furcellariaceae, and the genera Turnerella and Opuntiella; (2) the Gigartinaceae and Phyllophoraceae, and (3) the genus Endocladia. Except for Tichocarpus and Endocladia, these are all members of the Gigartinales sensu Kylin (1956). Most of the families previously placed in the Cryptonemiales by Kylin appear to contain only lambda-type carrageenans. These fall into two groups, one that clusters with typical carrageenophyte- and the other with typical agarophyte-taxa. The first of these includes the families Polyideaceae, Kallymeniaceae, Dumontiaceae, and Rhizophyllidaceae. The second includes the type family of the Cryptonemiales, the Halymeniaceae, which is divisible into two well-supported clades, one of which possesses special lambda-like carrageenans, the aeodans, and the Schizymeniaceae, a recently created family containing two former gigartinalean genera. The agarophyte orders Gelidiales, Gracilariales and Ceramiales are well resolved as monophyletic clades, but their topological positions are poorly resolved. The Gelidiales and Ceramiales are associated, but the Gracilariales is included in a clade that contains families belonging to the Rhodymeniales, a possible agarophyte order. Finally, two groups that may contain lambda-like carrageenans, the Plocamiales and the Sarcodiaceae, are resolved as separate clades. 相似文献

Sequence data from internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of rDNA and data from morphology, cytology and wood anatomy are used to study phylogenetic relationships inPseudopanax. The molecular and non-molecular data are analysed as independent data sets and in combination using parsimony. Results supported the conclusion that the genusPseudopanax is polyphyletic.Pseudopanax species emerge in two major monophyletic groups. The Anomalus group containsPseudopanax anomalus, P. edgerleyi, andP. simplex; these species share a common ancestor withCheirodendron trigynum and more distantly withPseudopanax gunnii. The second major group consists of two smaller groups: the Arboreus group, includingPseudopanax arboreus, P. colensoi, P. kermadecensis, P. laetus, andP. macintyrei, and the Crassifolius/Discolor group, includingP. chathamicus, P. crassifolius, P. discolor, P. ferox, P. gilliesii, P. lessonii, andP. linearis. Meryta species are close relatives of thePseudopanax Arboreus and Crassifolius/Discolor groups. 相似文献
