Carbosulfan and carbofuran induce water pollution and health issues. Such issues may be solved by phytoremediation. Here we tested the potential of adding Rumex dentatus L. leaves extract to Plantago major L. for enhancing phytoremediation of carbosulfan-contaminated soil. The phytoremediation efficiency of P. major L. amended with R. dentatus L. leaves extract was significantly greater than that of P. major only and R. dentatus with respect to the removal of carbosulfan from contaminated soil. The contribution of R. dentatus leaves extract to the degradation of carbosulfan in the soil were 20.95%, 18.85%, 5.2% and 1.85% after 2, 4, 8 and 16 days of treatments, respectively. The presence of P. major amended with R. dentatus leaves extract showed significant effect on uptake of carbosulfan into roots at 2 and 4 days, the uptake ratio was about 2.39 and 1.31 times higher compared to P. major alone, respectively. Carbofuran appeared in the P. major roots amended with R. dentatus leaves extract within 2 days of treatment (5.49 mg/kg) and reached the maximum over 8 days (10.19 mg/kg), while carbofuran appeared in the P. major over 4 days of treatment (4.09 mg/kg) and reached the maximum (6.92 mg/kg) over 8 days of exposure. Carbosulfan taken up into P. major leaves reached 4.36 mg/kg over 4 days, while it reached 2.75 mg/kg in P. major leaves amended with R. dentatus leaves extract over the same time. Carbofuran translocated into the P. major leaves amended with R. dentatus leaves extract and reached the maximum over 16 days of exposure (10.43 mg/kg), followed by P. major (9.47 mg/kg) and R. dentatus leaves (9.5 mg/kg), respectively. This study indicates that R. dentatus leaves extract can improve the efficiency of phytoremediation of carbosulfan.  相似文献

The karyotypes ofElymus dentatus from Kashmir andE. glaucescens from Tierra del Fuego, both carrying genomesS andH, were investigated by C- and N-banding. Both taxa had 2n = 4x = 28. The karyotype ofE. dentatus was symmetrical with large chromosomes. It had 18 metacentric, four submetacentric and six satellited chromosomes. The karyotype ofE. glaucescens resembled that ofE. dentatus, but a satellited chromosome pair was replaced by a morphologically similar, non-satellited pair. The C-banding patterns of both species had from one to five conspicuous and a few inconspicuous bands per chromosome. N-banding differentiated the chromosomes of the constituent genomes by producing bands in theH genome only. TheS genomes of both species were similar with five metacentric and two satellited chromosomes having most conspicuous C-bands at telomeric and distal positions. They resembled theS genome of the genusPseudoroegneria. TheH genomes had four similar metacentric and two submetacentric chromosomes. The seventhH genome chromosome ofE. dentatus was satellited, that ofE. glaucescens nonsatellited, but otherwise morphologically similar. The C-bands were distributed at no preferential positions. TheH genome ofE. dentatus resembles theH genomes of some diploidHordeum taxa.  相似文献

Laboratory studies were conducted to see the allelopathic suppression of wheat and mustard byRumex dentatus ssp.klotzschianus (Meissn) Rech. It was observed that aqueous extracts, rain leachates and litter from dried and fresh shoot and roots invariably inhibited the germination and seedling growth of both the crop species. Soil collected from beneathRumex dentatus also proved harmful for the germination and seedling growth. It is suggested thatRumex dentatus ssp.klotzschianus exhibits allelopathy against wheat and mustard.  相似文献

Oxuderces dentatus and Scartelaos histophorus species were collected seasonally from the Dhamara estuary (Odhisa, India) using scoop nets, cast nets as well as by hand for a period of 1 year (January 2015–December 2015). Length–weight relationships were estimated. Total lengths (TL) for O. dentatus ranged from 42 to 80 mm, and from 58 to 122 mm for S. histophorus. Similarly, total weights of O. dentatus and S. histophorus ranged from 2.5–10.7 g to 7.7–26.5 g, respectively. The ‘b’ values estimated for O. dentatus (2.718) and S. histophorus (2.689) were below 3. The condition factors of O. dentatus and S. histophorus were minimum in summer and maximum post‐monsoon.  相似文献

Abstract

Across 64 sites 8 species were found, with Clarkus propapillatus at 60 sites, C. composticola at 7, Prionchulus muscorum at 3, Mylonchulus ubis at 7, M. sigmaturus at 1, Cobbonchus australis at 9, lotonchus basidontus at 4, and I. stockdilli n. sp. at 3 sites. Sampling effort varied at the sites and significant annual and management effects have previously been reported on mononchid populations. No clear geographic or soil factor is apparent in the distributions, but more species may occur at sites with higher annual rainfall. lotonchus stockdilli n. sp. is a large (female L = 3.05–5.90 mm), bisexual species with dorsal tooth at the posterior of the sclerite, female tail about 400 μm or 14%, and no cuticular pores in the vulval region.  相似文献

We report the taxon as an unrecorded species in Korea.P. alpinus previously known asP. dentatus is characterized by unbranched stems and sessile, but not amplexicaui leaves with entire margins and obtuse apices. Swimming speed, angular correlation and expected displacement were measured in juvenile summer flounder Paralichthys dentatus acclimated to either oxygen saturation (c. 7·8 mg O2 l?1; saturation‐acclimated fish) or diel‐cycling hypoxia (cycling between 11·0 and 2·0 mg O2 l?1) for 10 days and subsequently exposed to more severe diel‐cycling hypoxia (cycling between 7·0 and 0·4 mg O2 l?1). Saturation‐acclimated P. dentatus exhibited an active response to declining dissolved oxygen (DO) by increasing swimming speed, angular correlation and expected displacement to peak levels at 1·4 mg O2 l?1 that were 3·5, 5·5 and 4·2 fold, respectively, greater than those at DO saturation. Diel‐cycling hypoxia‐acclimated P. dentatus also exhibited an active response to declining DO, although it was relatively less pronounced. Diel‐cycling hypoxia‐acclimated P. dentatus swimming speed, however, still doubled as DO decreased from 7·0 to 2·8 mg O2 l?1. Diel‐cycling hypoxia‐acclimated P. dentatus did not recover as well from low DO exposure as did saturation‐acclimated fish. This was reflected in their relatively more random swimming (low angular correlation between successive moves) and poor maintenance of rank order between individuals during the recovery phase. Even saturation‐acclimated P. dentatus did not resume swimming at speeds observed at saturation until DO was 4·2 mg O2 l?1. Paralichthys dentatus were very sensitive to decreasing DO, even at DO levels that were not lethal or growth limiting. This sensitivity and their poor recovery may preclude juvenile P. dentatus from using highly productive nursery habitats affected by diel‐cycling hypoxia.  相似文献

Abstract: The biostratigraphically important Middle Ordovician (Darriwilian) biserial graptolite Fucoides dentatus Brongniart, 1828 is redescribed and illustrated from its type material and from additional specimens collected at the type locality – Lévis, Quebec, Canada. It is referred to Levisograptus gen. nov., which includes also the austrodentatus group of early axonophoran graptolites. The species has previously been confused with a younger, mid‐Darriwilian species, now referred to as Eoglyptograptus gerhardi sp. nov., and recognized as the type species of the genus Eoglyptograptus Mitchell. Both species can be differentiated easily by their respective proximal development types and show nonoverlapping biostratigraphical ranges. Levisograptus dentatus (Brongniart) is an important biostratigraphical index species in the early Darriwilian. Eoglyptograptus species are found in the higher Darriwilian and are biogeographically restricted to the Atlantic Faunal Realm.  相似文献

Trieces peruanus sp. n. from Peru is described, Trieces riodinis Gauld et al. is recorded from this country for the first time. Trieces peruanus belongs to the T. dentatus species-group, it is similar to Trieces dentatus H. Townes et M. Townes, according to the degree of development of the prepectal keel and lateral keels of the scutum, as well as to the presence of hairs along the upper margin of the metapleura. The new species differs from T. dentatus in the entirely black metasoma, black hind leg with the yellow apex of the femur and base of the tibia, and darkened upper margin of the clypeus.  相似文献

Abstract. Egg hull formation during oogenesis in the chiton Callochiton dentatus does not follow the typical model of merocrine secretion involving Golgi vesicle exocytosis. Instead, microapocrine secretions are primarily responsible for egg hull formation, although merocrine secretions contribute “areolae” and the vitelline layer. Microapocrine secretion mechanisms are poorly understood, involving a different cellular pathway than is typical. Egg hull formation in C. dentatus involves two types of microapocrine secretions released by the oocyte, one of which is described here for the first time. The plesiomorphic jelly-like egg hull of chitons, as exemplified by the eggs of members of the basal order Lepidopleurida and present also in eggs of C. dentatus (Chitonida: Callichitonidae), may have evolved solely as an oocyte secretion, whereas members of some other families in the order Chitonida form their egg hulls with considerable secretory input from the follicle cells as well.  相似文献

A proteinase inhibitor(s) was found in extracts of the excretory gland cells, intestines, esophagi, reproductive organs, and body walls from Stephanurus dentatus adults. The specific activity of the inhibitor(s) in the excretory gland cell extract was 45–175 times greater than in the other tissues. It is heat stable at pH 5.0 and inhibits the esterolytic activity of trypsin and chymotrypsin using p-toluenesulfonyl-l-arginine methyl ester hydrochloride (TAME) and benzoyl-l-tyrosine ethyl ester (BTEE) as the substrates, respectively, and also the proteolytic activity of both chymotrypsin and trypsin using casein as the substrate. The distribution of mononchid nematodes Mylonchulus sigmaturus, Mylonchulus brachyuris, Clarkus papillatus, Prionchulus punctatus and Anatonchus tridentatus found in grassland and arable soils in England were studied. Mononchid nematode populations in excess of 5% of the total soil nematode population and in biomass more than 2% of the total soil nematode population were rare. No relationship was found between numbers of mononchids and those of other soil nematodes. In soils sown to spring barley there was no difference in the total numbers of female M. sigmaturus, C. papillatus or A. tridentatus found throughout the year. Juveniles of C. papillatus were most common while those of M. sigmaturus were least common. In grass leys and arable soil P. punctatus numbers were extremely low. Neither phorate nor oxamyl applied at 1.12 kg a.i./ha in March affected mononchid numbers. Although oxamyl at 11.2 kg a.i./ha did not affect the adult female numbers, the numbers of juvenile mononchids were reduced by 38% and 50% in June and November respectively.  相似文献

The Malesian species of the predominantly New Caledonian genus Austrobuxus were revised. Three species are recognized. Austrobuxus nitidus is widespread from south Thailand to Borneo. Characteristic for this species are the very short papillae of the caruncle. The caruncle papillae are much longer in the other two, newly described species. Austrobuxus celebicus sp. nov. is endemic to Sulawesi, where it is found on ultramafic soils, and A. dentatus sp. nov. is an endemic species of western New Guinea. The former is notable for the very small fruits and the latter for the teeth‐like glands along the leaf blade margins, unique within the genus.  相似文献

The patterns of microhabitat utilization by the clingfish Apletodon dentatus were investigated, based on SCUBA diving surveys at the Arrábida Marine Park (Portugal). In all inspected microhabitats, this species was only found in algal turfs, sea urchins and boulders. The association of A. dentatus with sea urchins is here analysed for the first time. There was a differential utilization of the microhabitats, with small juveniles recruiting to algal turfs, intermediate individuals found in association with the sea urchins Paracentrotus lividus and Sphaerechinus granularis and larger fish occurring mainly in boulders. Interspecific reciprocal crosses between the two flatfishes Paralichthys olivaceus and P. dentatus yielded hybrids with different viabilities. Specifically, the hybrids of P. olivaceus female and P. dentatus male (HI) were found to be viable, while the reciprocal hybrids from P. dentatus female and P. olivaceus male (HII) were completely inviable. All the HII individuals showed morphological deformities and died before first feeding. The chromosome analysis showed that HI individuals had the same chromosome number as parents. However, two chromosomes were missing in HII offspring indicating that the latter were aneuploids. Genomic inheritance from the parents to F1 progeny was also examined by amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) analyses, and the results showed differences between reciprocal hybrids. Almost all AFLP bands (97.71%) observed in parents were passed on to HI individuals. In contrast, only 86.64% of the AFLP bands from parents were scored in HII individuals. Frequency of lost parental bands was thus significantly higher in HII than that in HI and intraspecific crosses, which was probably associated with chromosomal elimination. In addition, higher segregation distortions were found in hybrids than in controls, although these differences were not significant. The present study indicates that chromosomal elimination and loss of AFLP loci occurred in inviable HII individuals, while such genomic changes were not found in viable HI individuals. Possible implications of such difference on genomic changes for asymmetric viability in reciprocal hybrids are discussed.  相似文献

In flora of Turkey, there are six species of Carthamus L: Carthamus dentatus (Forssk.) Vahl., C. glaucus M. Bieb. subsp. glaucus, C. lanatus L., C. tenuis (Boiss. & Blanche) Bornm., C. persicus Desf. ex Willd. and C. tinctorius L. Within these species, C. tinctorius L. is an alien species for the Turkish flora. The pollen grains belonging to six taxa collected from different locations of Anatolia and examined both under light microscope (LM) and under scanning electron microscope (SEM). As a result of these examinations and measurements, pollen grains of taxa are radially symmetrical, isopolar, oblate-spheroid, spheroid, tricolporate rarely tetracolporate, echinate. There are high similarities among taxa but some differences are recorded in size and spin length. According to cluster analyses of Carthamus species’ pollens, C. glaucus and C. tenuis have the most similar pollens. C. dentatus grouped with these two. C. persicus placed as the closest relative of C. tinctorius in the dendrogram.  相似文献

The postmetamorphic ontogenesis of 11 deep‐sea asteroid species is described. Juvenile bathymetric distributions are compared to adults. The deep‐sea juvenile asteroids of the NE Atlantic could be distinguished to species level from a very early stage of development. In all species, except Porcellanaster ceruleus and Plinthaster dentatus, the arms grow faster than the body. In Porcellanaster ceruleus and Plinthaster dentatus, early growth is nearly isometric. In the appearance of the epiproctal cone, the change in form of the furrow and apical spines, the early development of the cribriform organ adjacent to the madreporite and the appearance of sediment in the stomach indicate that Porcellanaster ceruleus is likely to undergo a shift in habitat and diet during the juvenile phase. Porcellanaster ceruleus is probably a predator on meiofauna and small macrofauna during the early stages of life, changing to a burrowing lifestyle ingesting sediment particles. Juvenile sea stars showed wider bathymetric distributions than their adult counterparts, suggesting that events occurring during the early stages of life are important for the maintenance of the local population structure and diversity in the deep NE Atlantic.  相似文献

Aromatic plants attract the attention of many researchers worldwide due to their worthy applications in agriculture, human prosperity, and the environment. Essential oil (EO) could be exploited as effective alternatives to synthetic compounds as it has several biological activities including allelopathy. The EO from the aerial parts of Rhynchosia minima was extracted by hydrodistillation and investigated by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Different concentrations (50, 100, 150 and 200 μL L−1) of the EO were prepared for investigation of their allelopathic potential on two weeds; Dactyloctenium aegyptium and Rumex dentatus. Twenty‐eight compounds, mainly sesquiterpenes (69.13%) were determined. The major compounds are α‐eudesmol, 2‐allyl‐5‐tert‐butylhydroquinone, caryophyllene oxide, trans‐caryophyllene, and τ‐cadinol. The EO from the Rminima showed a significant inhibition of Daegyptium and Rdentatus germination, while the seedling growth was stimulated. Therefore, it is not recommended to treat these noxious weeds with the EO of Rminima before the germination. In contrast, the apparent stimulatory effect on the seedling growth offers further studies to use the EO of Rminima to enhance the fitness of different economic crops. However, characterization of green bio‐herbicides such as EO (allelochemicals) from wild plants raises a new opportunity for the incorporation of new technology of bio‐control against the noxious weeds.  相似文献

A catalogue and a key to the non-lichenized, bulbilliferous basidiomycetes are given. The new genus Burgella is described for the lichenicolous B. flavoparmeliae, phylogenetically close to Sistotrema oblongisporum and Multiclavula. The genera Pneumatospora and Tricellulortus are placed in synonymy of Minimedusa, the new combination M. obcoronata is proposed, and the new facultative lichenicolous M. pubescens is described. The new facultative lichenicolous Burgoa angulosa is phylogenetically close to the generic type B. verzuoliana, whilst the new B. moriformis and B. splendens are provisionally included in the genus Burgoa. A Burgoa-like species in the Ceratobasidiaceae is left unnamed. Two new species of Marchandiomyces, M. buckii and M. nothofagicola, are described. As Marchandiomyces aurantiacus is phylogenetically more close to Erythricium than to Marchandiomyces, it is proposed to exclude it from that genus and to use the holomorphic generic name Marchandiobasidium for both anamorph and teleomorph of this species. The new genus Marchandiomphalina is introduced for the lichenized Omphalina foliacea, a taxon phylogenetically close to Marchandiobasidium. Due to precise evaluation of genetic diversity of Carthamus species, sixty-two genotypes consisting fifty-two from five wild (C. oxyacanthus M. Bieb, C. lanatus L., C. dentatus Vahl, C. boissieri Halácsy, C. glaucus M.B.) and ten from cultivated species (C. tinctorius L.) were selected for evaluation of the genetic diversity in Carthamus species. A total of 238 (81.2 %) polymorphic bands were detected by 12 SRAP primer combinations with an average of 22 bands per combination. Me4-Em1 and Me5-Em2 primer combinations were known as the most informative SRAP markers based on the PIC values (0.34) where they distinguished all studied Carthamus species. Cluster analysis classified all accessions into five main groups among which clusters containing cultivated individuals were distinctly separated from those containing wilds. The most and the least genetic variation based on analysis of molecular variance, were detected within (76.90 %) and among (22.84 %) groups, respectively. The obtained results suggested that C. dentatus, C. glaucus and C. boissieri species may be classified in one section including C. dentatus in one and C. glaucus and C. boissieri in another subsection. The results also revealed high genetic similarity between C. oxyacanthus and C. tinctorius despite their different morphological characteristics.  相似文献
