不同演替阶段栎树混交林群落稳定性   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
稳定性是群落结构与功能的一个综合指标,一直是生态学研究的重点.为进一步验证火山岩山地森林群落在不同演替阶段稳定性的变化趋势,本文以处于不同演替阶段的侧柏栎树混交林、栎树混交林和栎树黄连木混交林3种典型森林群落为对象,选取演替现状、物种多样性、Gordon稳定性值、群落结构4项指标10个因子作为构建评价模型的参数,通过函数隶属值方法评价了江苏盱眙火山岩山地典型森林群落在不同演替阶段的稳定性.结果表明:1)随着演替的进行,稳定性不断增强,与传统的演替理论一致,即演替是由不稳定到稳定的过程;2)3种群落总体的丰富度指数和Whittaker生境多样性指数虽存在一定的差异,但却表现出了相同的趋势,即栎树混交林>黄连木栎树混交林>侧柏栎树混交林;3)多样性最高的是栎树混交林,而稳定性最高的是侧柏栎树混交林,多样性并不能完全代表稳定性;4)由于侧柏栎树混交林密度过大,需要进行适当抚育,促进其正向演替.  相似文献

【目的】本文旨在揭示山西历山国家级自然保护区次生红桦林、次生针阔混交林和原始辽东栎林3种不同演替阶段林型蛾类多样性及群落结构特征。【方法】在保护区内次生红桦林、次生针阔混交林和原始辽东栎林3种林型中分别设置3块样地,每块样地到林缘的距离≥100 m;于2012年7—8月采用灯诱法在不同林型中采集蛾类标本,并对3种林型分别进行蛾类群落组成、多样性指数比较分析。【结果】山西历山国家级自然保护区3种林型共采集蛾类标本6 090只,隶属23科221种,其中卷蛾科物种数和个体数最多,有41种1 217只,分别占总种数和总个体数的18.6%和20.0%。从不同演替阶段林型的蛾类群落组成来看,次生红桦林和原始辽东栎林蛾类种数显著高于次生针阔混交林(P=0.001,P=0.006),次生红桦林与原始辽东栎林蛾类种数差异不显著(P=0.080)。对数正态分布模型拟合结果表明,3种林型中蛾类种-多度均为对数正态模型(P>0.050)。对3种林型中蛾类物种丰富度、多样性、均匀度和α-指数进行了计算和分析,结果表明:蛾类群落均匀度与α-指数一致,与多样性指数不一致。从多样性指数来看,次生红桦林最高(2.971),次生针阔混交林次之(2.958),原始辽东栎林最小(2.472);前两者之间差异不显著,前两者与后者差异均显著。从α-指数来看,稀有蛾类种数次生红桦林>原始辽东栎林>次生针阔混交林。采用Jaccard相似系数和Bray-Curtis Measure系数矩阵两种方式进行蛾类相似性比较,演替阶段相近蛾类群落结构不一定相似。【结论】森林由次生林向顶级群落演替过程中,蛾类的优势类群、物种数和稀有种数均不完全一样;蛾类多样性降低,稀有种减少,优势种数量变化明显。蛾类所处环境中植被演替速度是决定蛾类群落演替进程快慢的主要因素。蛾类群落结构除了与演替阶段有关外,还与林型的植被情况有着密切的关系。  相似文献

The edaphic macroarthropod communities of three sites representative of the forest succession in the Lake Duparquet region (situated in the southern part of the boreal forest, Abitibi, Quebec, Canada) were studied. A 47-year-old deciduous forest, a 144-year-old mixed forest, and a 231-year-old coniferous forest form a successional forest gradient with a vegetation composition that is a function of the time elapsed since the last forest fire. Along with forest succession, there is a reduction in macroarthropod community biodiversity. There is a negative gradient for mean total abundance (237–41 individuals), total richness (63–23 species), density (1792–661 individuals/m2), diversity (H′ = 1.478–1.007) and equitability (J = 0.821–0.739). These community changes affect saprophagous organisms more than predators. Certain species or taxa show preferences for a particular forest type, such as larval Diptera for the deciduous forest. A comparison of these results with the literature suggests an inverse preference as to habitat choice between microarthropods (Acarina and Collembola) and macroarthropods. From a conservation point of view, macroarthropod biodiversity will be favored by the protection of all forest types since each environment possesses a particular community structure and species. Due to their role in seed dispersal, changes in the community of phyllostomid bats have direct consequences on ecological succession. The objective of this work was to document changes in the structure of bat assemblages among secondary successional stages of tropical rain forest in Chiapas, Mexico. Bats were mist-netted at ground level during 18 months in 10 sites belonging to 3 successional stages: four sites represented early succession (2–8 years of abandonment), four intermediate succession (10–20 years of abandonment), and two late succession (mature old-growth forest).We captured 1,179 phyllostomids comprising 29 species. Phyllostomid species richness was 17 (58% of all species) in the early stage, 18 (62%) in the intermediate stage and 24 (83%) in the late stage. The late successional mature forest possessed nine species that were exclusively found there, whereas early and intermediate successional stages contained only one exclusive species. Sturnira lilium, Artibeus lituratus, Carollia perpicillata, Artibeus jamaicensis and Glossophaga soricina represented 88% of all captured phyllostomid bats. Frugivores made up more than 90% of the species captured in early and intermediate successional stages and 84% in late successional forest. The Bray–Curtis index of dissimilarity showed a replacement of species through successional stages with the largest dissimilarity between early and late stages, followed by intermediate and late, and the lowest dissimilarity between early and intermediate stages. The number of gleaning insectivore species increased during succession. The carnivorous guild was exclusively found in the late stage (three species). We conclude that the late successional mature forest was the main reservoir for the gleaning insectivore and carnivore guilds; however, early and intermediate successional stages possessed a great diversity of species including many frugivores.  相似文献

Certain of the problems associated with the use of size-class ordinations to identify successional pathways are explored. Examples of such ordinations, where it was attempted to minimize a number of the interpretational dangers noted by Austin (1977), are presented for two tropical rainforest types from Papua New Guinea. By limiting the analysis to groups of sites which show a high degree of homogeneity, and by using the non-linear ordination method Continuity Analysis (Noy-Meir 1974) a simple successional interpretation of the species-in-size-class data was possible. This paper investigates the rates of peat accumulation associated with different phases in the succession from open water to carr forest in shallow ponds created by peat dredging in The Netherlands. Four phases had been recognized in a previous study of aerial photographs for the period 1937–1990, i.e. open water (Aq), reed swamp (SA), brownmoss quaking fen (BM) and carr forest (CF). Peat accumulation rates were estimated by relating the amounts of organic matter stored to the data on the successional history for 21 different sites.The organic matter accumulation rates were highest in the SA phase (1.12 kg m-2 y-1 on a dry weight basis), intermediate in the BM and CF phases (0.49 and 0.58 kg m-2 y-1), and lowest in the Aq phase (0.26 kg m-2 y-1). These values are high in comparison with values determined for fen ecosystems with stratigraphic methods in combination with radiocarbon dating. The accumulation rates were inversely related to the average duration of the successional phases, suggesting that peat accumulation is a major driving force behind the succession.  相似文献

Ecological diversity indices are frequently applied to molecular profiling methods, such as terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP), in order to compare diversity among microbial communities. We performed simulations to determine whether diversity indices calculated from T-RFLP profiles could reflect the true diversity of the underlying communities despite potential analytical artifacts. These include multiple taxa generating the same terminal restriction fragment (TRF) and rare TRFs being excluded by a relative abundance (fluorescence) threshold. True community diversity was simulated using the lognormal species abundance distribution. Simulated T-RFLP profiles were generated by assigning each species a TRF size based on an empirical or modeled TRF size distribution. With a typical threshold (1%), the only consistently useful relationship was between Smith and Wilson evenness applied to T-RFLP data (TRF-E(var)) and true Shannon diversity (H'), with correlations between 0.71 and 0.81. TRF-H' and true H' were well correlated in the simulations using the lowest number of species, but this correlation declined substantially in simulations using greater numbers of species, to the point where TRF-H' cannot be considered a useful statistic. The relationships between TRF diversity indices and true indices were sensitive to the relative abundance threshold, with greatly improved correlations observed using a 0.1% threshold, which was investigated for comparative purposes but is not possible to consistently achieve with current technology. In general, the use of diversity indices on T-RFLP data provides inaccurate estimates of true diversity in microbial communities (with the possible exception of TRF-E(var)). We suggest that, where significant differences in T-RFLP diversity indices were found in previous work, these should be reinterpreted as a reflection of differences in community composition rather than a true difference in community diversity.  相似文献

以生长于内蒙古浑善达克沙地上的特有种——褐沙蒿种群为对象,对处于植被演替不同阶段(流动沙地、半流动沙地、半固定沙地和固定沙地生境)的褐沙蒿种群生长状态和及其生境特征进行了观测。结果表明,随着沙地表层的逐步固定,土层0~5cm的土壤含水量在逐渐增加,雨后各样地内土壤含水量的最大值都出现在0~5cm表土层;土壤有机质、全氮含量在各样地间差异极为显著,并表现出随着沙地的固定逐渐增加的趋势。褐沙蒿基株数、构件的枝条数在各演替阶段间虽无显著的差异,但随土壤基质的改变,反映种群生态功能的特征,如冠幅、生物量、生殖配额等特征在各样地间却有显著差异,且表现出随着沙地的固定而下降的趋势。在此基础上尝试性地提出了褐沙蒿种群综合活力指数(CVI),试图以一个综合的指标来表示褐沙蒿种群在不同衰退阶段生长状态上的差异。分析表明,随着沙地的逐步固定,褐沙蒿种群综合活力指数在各演替阶段差异极为显著,其值从流动沙地的0.63显著下降到固定沙地的0.38,并与土壤有机质含量、全氮量之间表现出显著的负相关性。  相似文献

Abstract. We studied vegetation structure and soil seed bank composition in different successional stages of secondary lowland tropical deciduous forest in Yucatán, Mexico. The series of study sites includes: slashed (S), slashed-and-burned (SB), and regenerating for 1, 6, 10, 15, 30, 40 and 100 yr. Species richness (S = 42 - 65), evenness (E = 0.32 - 0.38), and diversity (H' = 1.2 - 1.6) do not vary much as the forest grows older. 20 species of shrubs and trees were present in at least six of the seven regrowth years studied; 10 of these account for more than 50% of the total density values per regrowth year. These species dominate the vegetation due to their capacity to withstand repeated fire and felling. One third of the individuals sampled had regenerated from coppiced shoots. Species composition little resembles that in earlier accounts. The area is now largely covered by young regrowth stages (1 - 20 yr). Species constituting the original woody structure of the mature forest are rare or absent due to the lack of seed sources and failure of dispersal (which is due to limited dispersal capacities), lack of dispersal agents, or long distances. Herbs were the most important life form in the soil seed banks; only one tree species was found. The number of viable seeds varied between sampled areas: 70/m2 in the 40 yr-old, to 1 815/m2 in the slashed-and-burned (SB). The vegetation of S- and SB-areas was the same, but the number of viable seeds germinating in SB was twice the number in S; the number of species in the seed bank is the same for both areas. We speculate that fire modifies species dominance early in succession, allowing seeds of some species to germinate in great numbers.  相似文献

Succession is a foundation concept in ecology that describes changes in species composition through time, yet many successional patterns have not been thoroughly investigated. We highlight three hypotheses about succession that are often not clearly stated or tested: (1) individual communities become more stable over time, (2) replicate communities become more similar over time, and (3) diversity peaks at mid-succession. Testing general patterns of succession requires estimates of variation in trajectories within and among replicate communities. We followed replicate aquatic communities found within leaves of purple pitcher plants (Sarracenia purpurea) to test these three hypotheses. We found that stability of individual communities initially decreased, but then increased in older communities. Predation was highest in younger leaves but then declined, while competition was likely strongest in older leaves, as resources declined through time. Higher levels of predation and competition corresponded with periods of higher stability. As predicted, heterogeneity among communities decreased with age, suggesting that communities became more similar over time. Changes in diversity depended on trophic level. The diversity of bacteria slightly declined over time, but the diversity of consumers of bacteria increased linearly and strongly throughout succession. We suggest that studies need to focus on the variety of environmental drivers of succession, which are likely to vary through time and across habitats.  相似文献

Tropical tree communities are shaped by local-scale habitat heterogeneity in the form of topographic and edaphic variation, but the life-history stage at which habitat associations develop remains poorly understood. This is due, in part, to the fact that previous studies have not accounted for the widely disparate sample sizes (number of stems) that result when trees are divided into size classes. We demonstrate that the observed habitat structuring of a community is directly related to the number of individuals in the community. We then compare the relative importance of habitat heterogeneity to tree community structure for saplings, juveniles and adult trees within seven large (24–50 ha) tropical forest dynamics plots while controlling for sample size. Changes in habitat structuring through tree life stages were small and inconsistent among life stages and study sites. Where found, these differences were an order of magnitude smaller than the findings of previous studies that did not control for sample size. Moreover, community structure and composition were very similar among tree sub-communities of different life stages. We conclude that the structure of these tropical tree communities is established by the time trees are large enough to be included in the census (1 cm diameter at breast height), which indicates that habitat filtering occurs during earlier life stages.  相似文献

Changes in terrestrial vascular plant diversity along a successional gradient were studied in a Costa Rican upper montane Quercus forest. In 1991 and 1992 species presence and cover were recorded in 12 successional 0.1 ha forest plots. A total of 176 species in 122 genera and 75 families were found. Asteraceae was the most speciose family. With the help of TWINSPAN three successional phases were classified: (i) Early Secondary Forest (ESF, 145 spp.), (ii) Late Secondary Forest (LSF, 130 spp.) and (iii) Primary Forest (PF, 96 spp.). Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) species ordination using DECORANA illustrates that different ecological species groups can be distinguished along the time sequence. Alpha diversity (Shannon-Wiener index, among others) in ESF and LSF was significantly greater than in PF. This is probably explained by downslope migration of numerous sub(alpine) species to cleared and recently abandoned montane sites. Beta diversity applying Sørensen's similarity coefficients declined during succession. Using linear regression, the minimum time required for floristic recovery following disturbance and abandonment was calculated at 65.9 years. A comparison with other studies shows that secondary forests in upper montane Costa Rica can be as diverse as in neotropical lowlands.  相似文献

Summary Communities of spiders (Araneae) and beetles (Coleoptera) living in the soil and litter of clear-cut areas were compared with those of intact forest stands. Sixteen different indices of similarity were tested on three sets of material: spiders and beetles examined during one year in three clear-cut areas felled 3, 6 and 9 years earlier, and spiders in one clear-cut area examined during 7 successive years after felling. Other sources of evidence showed that succession in the spider community was divergent for at least 7 years after felling.The indices that seemed to express the changes best were: (1) Kendall's rank correlation test, (2) the Bray-Curtis measure, (3) Renkonen's percentage similarity, (4) the correlation coefficient r (2 to 4 after logarithmic transformation of data), (5) the Canberra metric, and (6) the diversity overlap (R 0). Seed bank species-composition and seed-density were determined in a successional calcareous (alvar) grassland in western Estonia. Three similar study areas were chosen to compare two different successional stages: open alvar grassland and overgrown areas with young pine forest 30 to 40 years old. In both successional stages, the centre and the edge of a relatively uniform stand were examined. Fifteen soil samples (7 cm in diameter, 5 cm deep) were taken from each of twelve sampling sites. The seedling emergence method was used to estimate seeds in the soil samples. A total of 69 species were detected in the seed bank, of which 18 did not occur in the vegetation. Eighty-nine taxa were recorded in the vegetation and of these 38 were not detected in the seed bank. Fifty-one species occurred both in the seed bank and in the vegetation. The three most abundant taxa in the seed bank wereCarex tomentosa, Linum catharticum andPlantago media, which together made up 49% of the seedlings recorded. Differences in the species compositions of seed bank samples from grassland and forest sites were negligible, although the species richness per area of the above-ground vegetation was significantly higher in the open grassland. The only species tending to be lost from forest site vegetation but still occurring in the forest soil seed bank wereArenaria serpylifolia, Cerastium fontanum andLinum catharticum. About half of all the emerged species from all samples belonged to the transient or short-term persistent seed bank. In the grassland sites there were more species which belonged to the transient seed bank than in the forest sites, where the seed bank contained more short-term persistent type seeds. The seed density was significantly higher in forest sites and lower in grassland sites, which may be explained by the better germination conditions in well-illuminated communities. On the basis of the current study it might be assumed that the soil seed banks of overgrown alvar grasslands which include young pine forests can play a certain role in grassland restoration management.  相似文献

幕阜山地处中亚热带-北亚热带过渡地带,物种资源丰富.通过对其典型样地的调查,分别采用Shannon-Wiener指数、Simpson指数和Pielou均匀度指数作为测度指标,研究了幕阜山地区森林群落结构及其物种多样性特征.结果表明,该地区主要有21个森林群落类型.其中常绿阔叶林中,物种丰富度指数与多样性指数在群落梯度上的总体趋势均为灌木层相对高于乔木层,乔木层相对高于草本层;在落叶阔叶林中,其丰富度指数的趋势为灌木层>草本层和乔木层,而在草本层与乔木层间是波动的,多样性指数的趋势为灌木层>草本层>乔木层;在针叶林中,物种丰富度、多样性指数表现的总趋势基本一致,即灌木层的丰富度相对较高,其次为草本层,乔木层的相对较小.在其他群落类型中,多样性指数、均匀度指数在乔木层、灌木层和草本层则表现出多样化的趋势;另外,从总体上看,各种指数在海拔梯度上并未表现出明显的规律性.  相似文献

1. There has recently been increasing interest in patterns of beta diversity but we still lack a comprehensive understanding of these patterns in various regions (e.g. the tropics), ecosystems (e.g. streams) and organism groups (e.g. invertebrates). 2. Our aim was to investigate the patterns of beta diversity of stream macroinvertebrates in relation to key environmental (i.e. stream size, pH and habitat degradation) and geographical variables (i.e. latitude, longitude, altitude) in a tropical region. We surveyed a total of 8–10 riffle sites in each of 34 streams (altogether 337 riffle sites were sampled) in Peninsular Malaysia to examine variation in macroinvertebrate community composition at within‐stream and among‐stream scales. 3. Based on test of homogeneity of dispersion, we found that the streams studied differed significantly in within‐stream variation in community composition (i.e. among‐site variation of within stream beta diversity). The patterns were similar based on Bray–Curtis coefficient on abundance data, Sorensen coefficient on presence–absence data and Simpson coefficient on presence–absence data. We also found that within‐stream beta diversity was significantly related to stream size, pH and latitude, with each of these variables individually accounting for around 20% of the variation in beta diversity in simple regressions, while the total variation explained by the three significant variables amounted to around 50% in multiple regressions. By contrast, habitat degradation, longitude and altitude were not significantly related to beta diversity. We also found that the factor drainage basin accounted for much of the variation in beta diversity in general linear models, suppressing the effects of environmental variables. 4. We concluded that within‐stream beta diversity is mainly related to a combination of the identity of a drainage basin and stream environmental factors. Our findings provide important background for stream environmental assessment and conservation planning by emphasising that (i) macroinvertebrate communities within streams are not homogeneous, but show considerable beta diversity, (ii) streams differ in their degree of within‐stream beta diversity, (iii) stream size and water pH should be considered in applied contexts related to within‐stream beta diversity and (iv) historical effects may be different in different drainage basins and may affect present‐day patterns of within‐stream beta diversity.  相似文献

Stemflow nutrient inputs to soil in a successional hardwood forest   总被引:10,自引:0,他引:10  
Stemflow and throughfall from a regenerating (8-year-old) southern Appalachian hardwood forest were collected to examine the relative importance of tree bole nutrient leaching in response to acid deposition. Samples from nine (2 m2) stemflow collection plots were analyzed for four dormant season and 11 growing season rainstorm events. Results showed that, relative to throughfall fluxes, stemflow accounted, on average, for approximately 8.5% of total water reaching the forest floor during both dormant and growing season storms. Relative to foliar leaching, K-, SO4-, and PO4 ions appear to be the most easily leached ions from young tree stems. Proportional nitrate and base cation stemflow fluxes increased significantly (p<0.05) with growing-season storm-event duration, suggesting that the stemsurface nutrient pool is depleted by precipitation more slowly than the foliar pool. On average, proportional stemflow fluxes of SO4 (12%) and K (14%) were consistently higher than reported maximum values for more mature forest stands, which indicates that small-scale stemflow inputs of ions such as these to the forest floor may be important in early successional ecosystems.  相似文献

? This study aimed to reveal species-genetic diversity correlations (SGDCs) and their underlying mechanisms in natural and disturbed forests. ? A community survey and molecular analyses were carried out to compare species diversity (SD), the genetic diversity of the dominant tree species Euptelea pleiospermum (GD), the altitudinal patterns of SD and GD, SGDC, genetic differentiation (F(ST) ), community divergence (F(ST) -C), effective population size (N(e) ), and recent migration rate between mountain riparian forests along the Yandu (natural) and Nan (disturbed) rivers. ? In natural forests, both SD and GD showed a unimodal altitudinal pattern and GD was positively correlated with SD, whereas a unimodal pattern and positive SGDC were not found in the disturbed forests. SD and F(ST) at the natural sites were higher than those at the disturbed sites. However, there were no significant differences in GD, F(ST) -C, N(e) or recent migration rate between the natural and disturbed sites. ? A correlation between the patterns of SD and GD along a geographical gradient (e.g. altitude) is an important driver of positive SGDC. The absence of positive SGDC in the disturbed forests may result from reduced SD but unaffected GD, indicating nonparallel changes in SD and GD. This study furthermore cautions against generalizations about changes in SD and GD following disturbance.  相似文献
