本文报道在沈阳地区1965—1985年间于空气中间断收集大气花粉5年,共收花粉玻片1100张,花粉45780粒,属于24科37属或种。其中9种(或属)超过千粒,为优势种类花粉。每年沈阳市大气中花粉出现两个高峰,一个为春季(四、五月),另一个为夏秋季(七八月)。通过长期观察发现,花粉种类和数量每年虽有不同,伹差异不大,唯有豚草花粉消长明显。大气中花粉种类及数量的变化往往受到气温、国家有关绿化政策以及社会风气的影响。花粉与过敏症关系十分密切,我们采用17种花粉制成浸液为病人皮试和治疗。皮试结果阳性率最高的为蒿属花粉,其次为其它夏秋花粉,春季花粉阳性率不高,致敏性不强。用花粉浸液对过敏症者进行免疫治疗,收到一定的疗效。  相似文献

A previous study of Campanula punctata pollinated by Bombus diversus showed greater male reproductive success in plants with wider corollas when male reproductive success was measured by paternity analysis. Pollen removal alone was not a good measure of male reproductive success. The aim of the current study is to elucidate the mechanism underlying the selection on corolla width in C. punctata. Multiple regression analysis of male reproductive success in experimental populations revealed that the advantage of a wide corolla to the male is independent of the corolla width of pollen recipients, indicating that the position of pollen deposited on Bombus may not be an important factor for selection. However, the number of pollen grains that fell on the petal or off the flower and were lost at the first visit of Bombus (pollen fall) decreased with increasing corolla width, so that most pollen grains removed from a wide flower were deposited onto the pollinator. In a narrow flower, a greater proportion of the pollen removed was wasted through pollen fall. Pollen removal does not reflect male reproductive success, at least in part because of the loss of pollen in some flowers through pollen fall. The positive relationship between wider corollas and reduced loss of pollen through pollen fall is likely to lead to greater male reproductive success of wider flowers under repeated visits of pollinators. Decreased pollen fall, probably due to more gentle contact between pollen and bees in flowers with wider corollas, may be one of the mechanisms underlying the selection on corolla width of C. punctata.  相似文献

On the basis of their 10-year-longaeropalynological and allergological studies,the authors examined the changes in theallergen spectrum of hay fever patients inconnection with the seasonality of the symptomsand pollen count of this period of 10 years.The results of skin prick tests (SPT) and casehistories of patients examined in 1990/91 and1998/99 were compared. Pollen counting wasperformed with a Hirst-type pollen trap. By theend of the observed period, the ratio ofseverely polysensitized patients (4 or morepositive skin prick tests) increasedsignificantly according to the significantlyincreased amount of positive skin prick teststo trees, rye and plantain. As the seasonalityof the patients' symptoms did not change duringthis period, this increase in skin prick testpositivity means latent allergy. However, in afew years time, it may become manifest allergycausing symptoms in the early springtime.According to the results of pollen counting,the atmospheric pollen pollution of the regionwas markedly high during the possiblesensitization period of these patients.  相似文献

The extensor digitorum brevis muscle flap, which has already been suggested as a local flap for the foot, has been applied by us in 2 cases with excellent results. This flap, as with other muscle flaps, provides an excellent bed for the skin graft. Furthermore, because of its width, it allows for covering an area of skin loss 5 X 7 cm in size in areas that are difficult to cover by other reconstructive means. The arch of rotation of this flap allows for coverage of the lateromedial and posterior surfaces of the ankle with no functional loss at the donor site. The relative ease of elevating this flap presents a reasonable justification for its wider application as a single local procedure for skin problems around the ankle.  相似文献

Summary Pollen data from three samplers located at heights of 0.5m, 10m and 55 m were used to investigate vertical differences in pollen abundance in North-Central London. Weekly accumulative counts for all pollen types were collected from February to September 1988. Distinct variations in abundance between the sites were recorded for some pollen taxa. For example,Gramineae recorded greater abundance at the higher sampling position. Other pollen types, includingPlatanus, were recorded at consistently greater abundance at the 10 m height compared to the 55 m level. Significant differences between the pollen counts at these two heights are discussed in relation to pollen source area, the specific gravity of the pollen grain, airflow patterns of the urban area and the weather conditions affecting pollen dispersal. Tracer experiments using Lycopodium spores were employed to investigate dispersal patterns to all three sampling heights. The results from these trials are used to assist in the interpretation of data from the depositional samplers. The study reported in this paper forms part of a wider survey of 14 sampling sites examining spatial variations in pollen abundance.  相似文献

The proximate functions of animal skin colour are difficult to assign as they can result from natural selection, sexual selection or neutral evolution under genetic drift. Most often colour patterns are thought to signal visual stimuli; so,their presence in subterranean taxa is perplexing. We evaluate the adaptive nature of colour patterns in nearly a third of all known species of caecilians, an order of amphibians most of which live in tropical soils and leaf litter. We found that certain colour pattern elements in caecilians can be explained based on characteristics concerning above-ground movement. Our study implies that certain caecilian colour patterns have convergently evolved under selection and we hypothesize their function most likely to be a synergy of aposematism and crypsis, related to periods when individuals move overground. In a wider context, our results suggest that very little exposure to daylight is required to evolve and maintain a varied array of colour patterns in animal skin.  相似文献

Human tissue kallikreins (KLKs) are the largest family of secreted serine protease endopeptidases encoded by 15 genes clustered on chromosome 19q13.4. Multiple KLK enzymes are co-localized in the upper stratum granulosum and stratum corneum of human epidermis, and in associated appendages such as hair follicle epithelia and sweat glands. Until recently, kallikrein proteolytic activity in the skin was exclusively attributed to KLK5 and KLK7. However, wider cutaneous roles of kallikreins became evident in recent years as the proposal of KLK proteolytic activation cascades emerged. We postulate that these proteolytic enzymes may serve as promiscuous mediators of different skin barrier functions, since they are capable of proteolysing different substrates that govern skin desquamation, antimicrobial defense, and lipid permeability. Growing evidence now attests to potential kallikrein involvement in skin inflammation, pigmentation, and tumor suppression via their ability to target proteinase-activated receptor signaling pathways. Current knowledge on kallikrein roles in skin physiology and pathobiology is described in this review.  相似文献

Summary Betula pollen production and flowering, pollen transport and pollen deposition are considered for the mountain birch region of northern Finland for the ten-year period 1984–1993. The most abundant flowering year was 1989 and, after that, 1985. In these years the highest values were also recorded for pollen in the air. There is a significant correlation between the amount of pollen released and the thermal sum of the previous year. In terms of pollen deposition the peak years were 1989 and 1986. The correlation between the amount of pollen in the air and that being deposited on the ground is also statisticaly significant. It is evident that some birch pollen is already present in the air before local flowering begins and that, in some years, this non-local pollen can account for more than 20% of the yearly total. This preflowering proportion was highest in 1985 and 1993, the latter being a prolific flowering year in the south of the country. There is a clear relationship between the proportion of the non-local pollen in the air and the proportion ofBetula pubescens/pendula type pollen deposited on the ground and, conversely, there is a significant correlation between the amount of local pollen in the air and the amount ofBetula tortuosa plusB. nana type pollen being deposited on the ground. The questions both of the viability of this long-distance pollen and of its ability to cause allergic reactions are considered. An assessment is also made of the degree to which fossil birch pollen assemblages can be realistically interpreted in terms of local vegetation if a varying proportion of the same pollen type is non-local.  相似文献

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a treatment method using light and photosensitizers (PSs), which is categorized as a non-invasive surgery treatment for cancers. When the tumor is exposed to a specific light, the PSs become active and generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), mainly singlet oxygen which kills nearby cancer cells. PDT is becoming more widely recognized as a valuable treatment option for localized cancers and pre-cancers of skin as it has no long-term effects on the patient. But, due to the limited penetration rate of light into the skin and other organs, PDT can’t be used to treat large cancer cells or cancer cells that have grown deeply into the skin or other organs. Hence, in this study, our focus centers on synthesizing glucose-conjugated phthalocyanine (Pc) compatible with near-infrared (NIR) irradiation as second-generation photosensitizer, so that PDT can be used in a wider range to treat cancers without obstacles.  相似文献

A formal validation study was performed, in order to investigate whether the commercially-available reconstructed human epidermis (RHE) models, EPISKIN, EpiDerm and SkinEthic, are suitable for in vitro skin absorption testing. The skin types currently recommended in the OECD Test Guideline 428, namely, ex vivo human epidermis and pig skin, were used as references. Based on the promising outcome of the prevalidation study, the panel of test substances was enlarged to nine substances, covering a wider spectrum of physicochemical properties. The substances were tested under both infinite-dose and finite-dose conditions, in ten laboratories, under strictly controlled conditions. The data were subjected to independent statistical analyses. Intra-laboratory and inter-laboratory variability contributed almost equally to the total variability, which was in the same range as that in preceding studies. In general, permeation of the RHE models exceeded that of human epidermis and pig skin (the SkinEthic RHE was found to be the most permeable), yet the ranking of substance permeation through the three tested RHE models and the pig skin reflected the permeation through human epidermis. In addition, both infinite-dose and finite-dose experiments are feasible with RHE models. The RHE models did not show the expected significantly better reproducibility, as compared to excised skin, despite a tendency toward lower variability of the data. Importantly, however, the permeation data showed a sufficient correlation between all the preparations examined. Thus, the RHE models, EPISKIN, EpiDerm and SkinEthic, are appropriate alternatives to human and pig skin, for the in vitro assessment of the permeation and penetration of substances when applied as aqueous solutions.  相似文献

Summary Concentrations of airborne pollens recorded in Trieste in 1989 are evaluated in relation to allergic complaints in 113 patients with skin prick tests positive to one pollen species. Analysis of the result enable the two most important allergens to be confirmed as: Poaceae in 70.7% of patients and Parietaria in 18.6%. Few people had monosensitation to Compositae (Artemisia), Corylaceae and Fagaceae.Sympotoms are related to the flowering period when pollen levels climbed to daily averages of 15–20 grains/m3 but they started later than airborne peak concentrations and finished later than pollen decline. Pollen concentration recording can be a useful way to predict the clinical manifestation in sensitive patients but other factors are involved in determining symptoms like subjective mucosal reactions, polysensitization, patients living and working environment.  相似文献

Acute exposure of human skin to the ultraviolet radiation (UVR) in sunlight results in the sunburn response. This is mediated in part by pro-inflammatory eicosanoids and other bioactive lipids, which are in turn produced via mechanisms including UVR-induction of oxidative stress, cell signalling and gene expression. Sunburn is a self-limiting inflammation offering a convenient and accessible system for the study of human cutaneous lipid metabolism. Recent lipidomic applications have revealed that a wider diversity of eicosanoids may be involved in the sunburn response than previously appreciated. This article reviews the effects of UVR on cutaneous lipids and examines the contribution of bioactive lipid mediators in the development of sunburn. Since human skin is an active site of polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) metabolism, and these macronutrients can influence the production of eicosanoids/bioactive lipids, as well as modulate cell signalling, gene expression and oxidative stress, the application of PUFA as potential photoprotective agents is also considered.  相似文献

Large skin lesions might be of different cause and sometime resistant to the conventional and surgical treatment. For many years, skin grafting used to serve one of the most important methods to treat large and deep skin lesions. However, a limited availability of the substrate for transplantation restricts wider application of the approach. Utilization of wound covers and skin replacements of various types (including synthetic, biological and biosynthetic ones) provides an alternative. Skin substitutes--biosynthetic covers of the complex structure--constitute the most important niche in a wide spectrum of wound covers developed and actively utilized by today. Cell substrates used in the former include dermal fibroblasts, neonatal foreskin fibroblasts and keratinocytes. In the current review, key properties of the modern skin substitutes, structure features of the most widespread types. and principle of the work with the particular cell types are analyzed. The stigma of Caesalpinia pulcherrima is crateriform. The crater continues as a slit-like canal through the style and into the ovary. Both crater and canal are lined by several layers of fusiform and thin-walled cells which are continuous in two narrow regions in the ovary. Postanthesis and before pollination, the middle lamella of cells lining the stigmatic crater and stylar transmitting tissue undergoes dissolution. This occurs in a progression down the style with cells separating partially or wholly from neighbours. Dissolution is initiated at intercellular junctions where wall fibrils loosen and variously-sized and -shaped holes appear. Cytoplasmic changes include increased dictyosome activity, increased rough and smooth endoplasmic reticulum at the periphery of cells and accumulation of electron opaque deposits at the plasma membrane. The crater fills with stigmatic fluid and the diameter of the stylar canal increases. Pollen germinates in the secretion-filled crater, and pollen tubes grow down the style between the cells of the transmitting tissue but do not enter the canal. They emerge at the entrance to the ovary cavity and grow over one or two narrow strips of ovarian transmitting tissue cells which are present throughout the length of the ovary close to the ovules. This ensures that tubes grow in close proximity to the micropyles.  相似文献

The investigation of airborne pollen and fungalspore concentrations was carried out in Cracowbetween 1997–1999. For this study thevolumetric method has been employed (Burkard).At the same time the clinical diagnosis ofpollen allergy in 40 patients was obtained onthe basis of an interview, positive skin pricktests with pollen extracts and increasedspecific IgE level. An increase in seasonalallergy symptoms in all patients occurred fromthe middle of May to the middle of August.Eighty eight percent of the patients (35 out of40) were sensitive to Poaceae pollen and about50% of them were additionally sensitive totree and herb pollen excluding grasses. Forpatients with additional allergy to tree pollenthe seasonal symptoms started at the end ofMarch (Betula) while for patients withadditional allergy to herb pollen it wasextended to the middle of September (Artemisia).Five people out of 40 revealed positive skinreactions to Alternaria spores and anincrease in specific IgE level. Positive skinreaction to Cladosporium spores with noincrease in specific IgE level occurred in 2patients. The increase in seasonal allergysymptoms in people sensitive to Alternariaspores noted in July and August could becaused not only by these spores but also byPoaceae pollen.  相似文献

The interactions between pollen and stigma are essential for plant reproduction and are made possible by compounds, such as proteins and lipids, located on their surfaces. The pollen coat is formed in part by compounds synthesized in, and released from, the tapetum, which become transferred to the pollen coat late in pollen development. In the Brassicaceae the predominant proteins of the mature pollen coat are the tapetal oleosin-like proteins, which are highly expressed in, and ultimately transferred from, the tapetum. Here we report the modification of the protein composition of the pollen coat by the addition of an active enzyme which was synthesized in the tapetum. The marker enzyme beta-glucuronidase (GUS) was successfully targeted to the pollen coat in transgenic Brassica carinata plants expressing GUS translationally fused to a B. napus tapetal oleosin-like protein (BnOlnB;4). To our knowledge this is the first demonstration of the targeting of an enzyme to the pollen coat.  相似文献

Anterolateral thigh flap donor-site complications and morbidity   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
The authors examined donor-site complications and morbidity in 37 patients after reconstruction with free or pedicled anterolateral thigh flaps. Intraoperative assessment included damage to the vastus lateralis muscle and whether the main pedicle of the rectus femoris muscle had been killed. Postoperative assessment of the donor site included wound healing, range of motion, muscle strength, gait, and sensation. Patients were surveyed with a questionnaire about fatigue in their activities of daily life and the appearance of the donor site. All 32 patients who underwent primary skin closure could perform activities of daily life normally, and most (87.5 percent) reported that donor-site appearance was satisfactory. However, the severity of donor-site dysfunction was related to the degree of damage to the vastus lateralis muscle, and most patients (87.5 percent) had some loss of sensation at the anterolateral aspect of the thigh. Because of adhesions between the meshed skin graft and the underlying fascia, range of motion at the hip and knee was limited in significantly more patients who had received split-thickness skin grafts (60 percent) than patients who had undergone primary skin closure (3.1 percent). Therefore, wider flaps or flaps harvested nearer the knee may increase donor-site morbidity. The authors concluded that the incidence of long-term morbidity with the anterolateral thigh flap is low, although it is increased when the flap includes the vastus lateralis muscle or is wider and requires additional skin grafting at the donor site.  相似文献

The length of the pollen deposition period covered by an individual moss sample is a matter of discussion. Here we evaluate (1) how many years of pollen deposition are contained in individual moss samples, (2) which factors (i.e. moss type, geographical location and thickness of sample) affect the pollen content, and (3) whether the time span of the pollen deposited in the moss is related to the pollen type. The pollen deposition period covered by 20 individual moss samples adjacent to pollen traps was estimated using the accumulation method. The investigated moss samples usually contain pollen from a period of two to five years. The length of the time period covered by the moss depends on the thickness of the moss cushion and, therefore, we recommend estimating the time period over which the moss has been growing by the increment method. Compared to pollen traps, mosses tend to accumulate more Poaceae and bisaccate grains (especially Picea) but less Cyperaceae pollen. Betula and pollen tetrads tend to be equally represented in mosses and traps. This study demonstrates that moss samples may contain sufficient pollen to be a reliable modern analogue for Quaternary peat and sediment samples but cannot be used to calculate pollen accumulation rates.  相似文献
