为了确定沙拐枣植物种子的萌发特性及最优播前预处理方法,在实验室条件下,对10种沙拐枣植物的种子进行了磨砺、硫酸和热水浸泡、冷藏、种子浸出液处理,然后进行发芽实验研究。萌发实验的结果表明,10种沙拐枣植物对于不同的种子预处理,均表现出相似的萌发反应。磨砺、硫酸浸泡和冷藏处理对种子萌发有明显地促进作用。与对照相比,种子浸出液处理对种子的发芽率、发芽速度均具有明显地抑制作用,并能增强种子的休眠。冷藏处理具有打破有活力的种子休眠、促进种子萌发的作用,但它与热水浸泡处理一样,对有活力种子表现出一定的致死作用。沙拐枣植物的萌发模式在不同种子预处理问均表现出明显的差异性。机械磨擦和硫酸处理能够促进种子的萌发率及发芽势。泡果沙拐枣(Callingonum junceum)在本项实验中表现出很强的萌发能力。  相似文献

壳斗科三种植物种子大小对昆虫寄生及种子存活率的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
种子内的寄生昆虫可以严重影响种子的发育、损害种子活力。种子足余策略理论认为大种子有利于抵御和适应昆虫寄生取食,但动物最优觅食理论推测,大种子更易遭受昆虫寄生。为对这两种对立观点进行验证,本实验以青冈、苦槠和麻栎各2个种群的种子为材料,对昆虫寄生与完好种子间的体积和萌发率进行比较,并对寄生种子萌发率与种子体积的关系进行了分析。结果显示:(1)在6个种群的种子中,只有松阳麻栎和青冈种群的寄生种子体积大于完好种子,其余4个种群的寄生种子体积小于完好种子,但这种差异不显著;(2)所有寄生种子的整体萌发率(18%)显著低于完好种子(45.66%)(P<0.001),在不同种群内,寄生种子的萌发率也分别显著低于完好种子。(3)比较同种植物体积差异显著的寄生种子的萌发率发现,大种子总比小种子具有更高的萌发率,但差异不显著;在不同植物的寄生种子间比较时,体积最大的麻栎种子萌发率显著高于体积较小的青冈和苦槠种子。研究结果表明,象虫在种子上产卵时对大种子没有选择偏好,在昆虫寄生取食严重损害种子活力的压力下,大种子比小种子具有更强的耐受力。  相似文献

两种结缕草种子休眠及萌发特性   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
通过测定兰引Ⅲ号结缕草和青岛结缕草休眠种子和解除休眠种子的吸水率、呼吸强度和脱氢酶活性等萌发生理指标,探讨了结缕草种子的休眠类型。试验结果表明,解除休眠的结缕草种子的吸水率大于未处理的种子。解除休眠种子的呼吸强度、脱氢酶活性都有较大幅度的增长,显著高于未处理。结缕草种子萌发期需30~35℃高温和充足光照。两种结缕草种子的颖壳、种皮的透性障碍及种子内存在发芽抑制物质是导致种子休眠的主要原因,属于混合休眠类型。  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Seed desiccation sensitivity limits the ex situ conservation of up to 47 % of plant species, dependent on habitat. Whilst desirable, empirically determining desiccation tolerance levels in seeds of all species is unrealistic. A probabilistic model for the rapid identification of woody species at high risk of displaying seed desiccation sensitivity is presented. METHODS: The model was developed using binary logistic regression on seed trait data [seed mass, moisture content, seed coat ratio (SCR) and rainfall in the month of seed dispersal] for 104 species from 37 families from a semi-deciduous tropical forest in Panamá. KEY RESULTS: For the Panamanian species, only seed mass and SCR were significantly related to the response to desiccation, with the desiccation-sensitive seeds being large and having a relatively low SCR (i.e. thin 'seed' coats). Application of this model to a further 38 species, of known seed storage behaviour, from two additional continents and differing vegetation types (dryland Africa and temperate Europe) correctly predicted the response to desiccation in all cases, and resolved conflicting published data for two species (Acer pseudoplatanus and Azadirachta indica). CONCLUSIONS: This model may have application as a decision-making tool in the handling of species of unknown seed storage behaviour in species from three disparate habitats.  相似文献

森林鼠类的种子贮藏行为对植物的扩散及更新会产生积极的影响。2012和2013年秋季,分别在秦岭北坡的周至国家级自然保护区和南坡的佛坪国家级自然保护区内,调查了森林鼠类对板栗(Castanea mollissima)和锐齿栎(Quercus aliena)种子的取食和扩散差异。结果显示:1)秦岭南北坡的环境因素,特别是植被因素,对鼠类扩散板栗和锐齿栎种子具有重要的影响。南坡较为丰富的壳斗科植被种类,导致2种种子在南坡存留时间均长于北坡,而北坡的扩散取食和丢失率均高于南坡。2)种子特征影响鼠类的取食或贮藏偏好。由于较高的蛋白、脂肪等营养含量,鼠类更喜好取食或搬运贮藏板栗种子。然而,低营养但高丹宁含量的锐齿栎种子仍然被鼠类大量贮藏。3)2种种子在南北坡的扩散历程在两个年份间有很大差异,在食物相对匮乏的年份(2012年),种子被扩散的速度更快且丢失的比率更高。这种差异反映了种子大小年现象对森林鼠类取食和贮藏策略的影响。4)无论在秦岭南坡还是北坡,营养价值含量(如蛋白和脂肪)较高的板栗种子的取食和贮藏距离都明显大于营养价值含量较低的锐齿栎种子,这与最优贮藏空间分布模型的预测一致。  相似文献

在黑龙江省穆棱东北红豆杉自然保护区内,对10株天然东北红豆杉结实母树冠下的土壤种子库进行了调查分析.结果表明:东北红豆杉土壤种子库中的种子数量在垂直方向和水平方向上都表现出明显的规律性.在不同深度土层中的种子数量差异显著(p<0.05).枯枝落叶层及0~5cm土层集中了最大量的种子,占总量的84%,随土层深度的增加,种子数量逐渐减少,15cm以下极少有种子出现.土壤种子库中具有活力的种子数量极少,不到总量的1%.种子丧失活力的首要原因是被昆虫和啮齿类动物啃食,占损失量的52%,其次是腐烂,占29%.在水平方向上,东北红豆杉种子具有近母株分布的特点,且在不同方向上种子数量差异极显著(p<0.01).当年下落到地面的东北红豆杉种子,按远离母株的顺序,种子数量逐渐减少;在围绕母株的八个方向上,东向的种子数量最多,其次是东北、北和东南方向,西面的种子数量最少.当年下落的3%的完好种子补充到土壤种子库中.自然条件下,东北红豆杉以种子繁殖,土壤种子库是其自然更新及种群恢复的重要基础,本研究结果对于东北红豆杉濒危机制的探索及种群恢复具有重要的理论意义.  相似文献

通过等渗的NaCl和PEG溶液模拟盐分和水分胁迫,设置渗透梯度,在控制条件下对杠柳种子的萌发过程中总萌发率、幼苗鲜重、胚根生长、种子活力、发芽值等指标系统研究,对种子萌发率与渗透势之间关系进行回归分析,主要结果包括:(1)杠柳种子萌发过程中总萌发率、幼苗鲜重、活力指数和发芽值四项指标均随NaCl和PEG溶液的渗透势降低逐渐下降,综合研究活力指数和发芽值表明渗透势≥-0.5 MPa和≤-1.4 MPa时,PEG对种子萌发抑制作用大于NaCl,其他情况相反;(2)杠柳种子逐日萌发率和胚根日变化研究表明,与NaCl相比,PEG推迟杠柳种子萌发,并且对胚根增长抑制作用较大;(3)建立盐分和水分胁迫条件下种子萌发率与渗透势回归方程,发现杠柳种子在PEG胁迫下的萌发临界值和极限值为-1.0和-1.4 MPa,在NaCl胁迫下是-0.9和-1.3 MPa,解除胁迫条件,不同处理的杠柳种子复水萌发率均达到100%。说明杠柳具有良好的耐盐抗旱的特性。  相似文献

Dimorphic seeds of Atriplex prostrata were removed from cold dry storage monthly over a one year period to test for fluctuations in seed dormancy and germination rate. For each seed type, four replicates of 25 seeds were exposed to four alternating night/day temperature regimes mimicking seasonal fluctuations in Ohio: 5/15 °C; 5/25 °C; 15/25 °C and 20/35 °C with a corresponding 12-h photoperiod (20 μmol m−2 s−1; 400 – 700 nm). We found a significant three-way interaction of seed size, temperature and month for both percent germination and the rate of germination. Large seeds showed the greatest germination at the 20/35 °C and 5/25 °C temperature regimes and small seeds at the 5/25 °C regime. Large seeds had greater germination at all temperatures as compared to small seeds. Large seeds had the fastest germination rates at 20/35 °C followed by 5/25 °C whereas small seeds had the fastest rates at 5/25 °C followed by 20/35 °C. Mango (Mangifera indica L.) seed is recalitrant which taken from ripened fruits con,ained as high as 69.2'–75.5% moisture content (The moisture content of embryonic axis is 73.8–86.3%). When seeds were naturally dried for 8 days, the moisture content declined to 39.1% (in embryonic axis the moisture content declined to 46.5%) and the viability of seeds completely lost. Embryonic axis lost water slower than whole seed because of the prevention of desiccation by the large cotyledons. During natural desiccation, the conductivity of leachate increased rapidly from 2.2 μΩ·cm-1·g-1 (the same unit below) to 56.7, whereas the activities of dehydrogenase and acid phosphatase decreased drastically. When seeds were rapidly dried for 42 hours, the moisture content declined from 75.5 to 29.9%, the conductivity of leachate increased from 1.8 to 36.9 and the percentage germination changed from 100% to 10%. Desiccation damaged the cell membrane and decreased the activities of enzymes. Rapid drying was better for maintaining longevity than natural (slow) drying because the former did less damage to the cell membrane than natural (slow) drying as shown in the conductivity changes. The moisture content of excised embryonic axis decreased to 11.8% when they were dried for 8 hours by silicagel. The survival percentage of these embryonic axis was 80% when they were incubated in MS+0.2 mg/L BA+2.0 mg/L NAA+500 mg/L gln+3% sucrose+0–9% agar medium. Seeds with 51.0% moisture content (rapidly dried for l0 hours by electric fan blowing) had 65% viability after 7 months wet storage with the polyethylene bag at 15℃.  相似文献

该文在玻璃温室内的遮阴环境下,采用盆播方法研究了辽东栎种子特征(大小和种皮)和播种深度(0、3、6、10 cm)对种子萌发和幼苗生长的影响。结果表明:(1)辽东栎大种子萌发率、萌发速率、萌发值和萌发指数在所有播种深度均高于小种子。其中非去皮种子萌发率、萌发速率和萌发指数在0 cm播种深度的不同大小种子间差异显著,去皮种子所有萌发参数在6和10 cm播种深度的不同大小种子间均差异显著;去皮可促进大种子萌发,但抑制小种子萌发;不同大小种子所有萌发参数均在0 cm播种深度最大,在10cm播种深度最小。(2)不论有无种皮,大种子萌发幼苗的叶片数、单株叶面积、总干物质质量和根冠比在所有播种深度均大于小种子萌发幼苗;去皮种子萌发幼苗的株高、基径、叶片数、单株叶面积和总干物质质量在所有播种深度均不同程度地小于非去皮种子萌发幼苗,但前者根冠比在0、3、6 cm播种深度大于后者;随着播种深度增大,幼苗株高、叶片数、单株叶面积、总干物质质量和根冠比等生长参数均呈减小趋势,但基径随播种深度增大而增大。  相似文献

种子在自然和农业生态系统中起重要作用,其发芽成苗对于植物物种生存繁衍具有决定性作用,但由于老化、休眠及生境恶化等问题经常导致其活力严重受损,所以探索提高种子萌发质量的方法具有深远的经济和生态意义.基于国内外最新研究,种子预处理是使植物优质、多抗、高产最实用有效的方法.本文综述了近年来的种子预处理技术及其生理生化响应,包括基因表达、细胞学效应、酶系统活性、物质能量代谢、抗氧化机制及信号传导途径.从种子发芽的不同阶段和提高抗逆性角度,阐明各预处理方法的作用机制,总结了各方法在细胞学、分子水平上的研究瓶颈以及实践应用上存在的问题.目前研究多集中于生化改变和酶活性的局部响应,缺乏以生产实践为目的的整体系统研究,为此,本文提出了对种子预处理研究的展望,旨在为今后种质资源保存、发展绿色高效农业和生态环境建设提供科学参考.  相似文献

概述了植物种子休眠的原因及种子休眠的多形性。种壳障碍、胚形态发育不全和生理后熟以及种子中含有化学抑制剂都可导致种子休眠。根据不同的分类标准可将种子休眠可分成不同类型,但通常将休眠分为外源休眠、内源休眠和综合休眠。影响休眠的因素是复杂的,植物种类不同,休眠特性不同;同种植物的种子,来源于不同居群和植株,在不同时期采集,位于母株不同位置,其休眠有可能不同;甚至同一果实中的不同种子,休眠特性都会有差异。影响休眠性状表达的基因既有核基因,又有质基因,休眠通常表现为一种受多基因控制的数量性状。种子休眠的多形性有利于调节种子萌发的时空分布。  相似文献

研究了储藏条件和时间对 6种湿地植物种子萌发的影响 ,以便为采用种子恢复和重建湿地植被提供指导。将新鲜种子在浸泡 -冷、湿 -冷、湿 /干 -冷和干 -冷 4种条件下储藏 3个月后再进行种子萌发 ,结果表明 ,普通野生稻 (Oryza rufipogon)和野慈姑(Sagittaria trifolia)在 3种水胁迫冷藏条件下的种子萌发率显著高于干 -冷储藏时的萌发率 ;柳叶箬 (Isachne globosa)和水毛花(Scirpus triangulatus)种子发芽率最高的储藏条件分别是浸泡 -冷或湿 -冷储藏和干 /湿 -冷藏。小慈姑 (Sagittaria potam-ogetifolia)和野荸荠 (Eleocharisplantagineiformis)在 4种储藏条件下的发芽率没有显著差异。将种子在干 -冷条件下分别储藏1个月、6个月、18个月和 30个月后再进行萌发 ,结果显示储藏时间延长显著提高了普通野生稻、柳叶箬、野荸荠和小慈姑的发芽率。野慈姑的发芽率在前 3个储藏期随储藏时间延长而提高 ,但 30个月后发芽率开始下降。水毛花在所有储藏期间的发芽率均小于 2 %。结果建议采用种子恢复和重建湿地植被时 ,将种子水胁迫冷藏利于种子的萌发。同时 ,结果也表明干 -冷储藏 30个月的种子仍可作为湿地恢复的种质资源  相似文献

The role of Pheidole praeses , a twig-nesting ant inhabiting the floor of the Brazilian Atlantic forest, as potential secondary seed disperser was investigated. A total of 901 seeds (20 morphospecies) were retrieved from 50 nests, most of them intact and able to germinate. Considering the abundance of Pheidole species and the evidence pointing to their potential as seed dispersers, these ants may be important determinants of the recruitment of small-seeded plants in tropical forests.

  • Pollinator guilds may change throughout extended flowering periods, affecting plant reproductive output, especially in seasonal climates. We hypothesised a seasonal shift in pollinator guild and an autumn reduction in pollinator abundance, especially in small and sparse populations.
  • We recorded pollinator identity, abundance and behaviour in relation to flower density from plant to population throughout the extended flowering of Ononis tridentata. We evaluated female reproductive output by recording pollination success and pre‐dispersal seed predation in eight populations of contrasting size and density. Offspring quality was also characterised through seed weight and germination.
  • A diverse guild of insects visited O. tridentata in spring, while only Apis mellifera was observed in autumn. Visitation frequency did not vary seasonally, but the number of flowers per foraging bout was lower, and seeds were heavier and had a higher germination rate in autumn. Plant and neighbourhood flowering display were not related to pollinator visitation frequency or behaviour. However, the rate of fertilised ovules, seed set and autumn flowering display size were positively related to population density.
  • The maintenance of pollination in autumn enhances the reproductive performance of O. tridentata due to higher quality of autumn seed, and to a large reduction in seed predator pressure. We also suggest that observed changes in pollinator behaviour could be one of the processes behind seasonal variation in seed performance, since geitonogamous crosses were less likely to occur in autumn.

种子休眠是植物本身适应环境和延续生存的一种特性,是种子植物进化的一种稳定对策。野生植物特别是原产温带的植物,其种子大多有深而长的休眠期。关于种子休眠的概念有多种,这些概念引出了许多学说、假说和模型。种壳障碍、胚形态发育不完全和生理后熟以及种子中含有化学抑制剂等,都可导致种子休眠。根据不同的分类标准可将种子分成不同类型,一般将种子分为强迫休眠和机体休眠;机体休眠又可分为外部休眠、内部休眠和综合休眠。植物种类不同休眠特性也不同;同种植物的种子来源于不同的居群和植株时,若采集时期不同,其休眠也可能不同;甚至在同一果实中的不同种子,休眠特性亦可能有差异。影响休眠性状表达的基因既有核基因,也有质基因,休眠通常表现为一种受多基因控制的数量性状。种子休眠具有重要的生态学意义,能有效地调节种子萌发的时空分布。研究种子的休眠特性和机理及其解除方法,有助于农业生产和植物多样性保护。  相似文献

Although germination sensu stricto and germination–dormancy balance are essential to each other, few reports demonstrate the effects of their relationship on patterns of seed–seedling transition. We studied this relationship by using diaspores of Paepalanthus chiquitensis, a threatened everlasting flowering species. We assessed three aspects: (a) water dynamics in germinating diaspores, (b) thermal stimulation (35, 40, 50, 60 and 70°C for 30 min) and (c) imbibition (4 hr) in growth stimulators (100, 200 or 300 mg · L−1 GA3; 0.1% KNO3). Our findings demonstrate that there are no barriers in the diaspore for diffusion. Additionally, there is high variability in diaspore permeability, and the germination of the species has two steps divided into five stages. These stages were defined by inflections on velocity in water dynamics, which ranged from −0.05 to 0.05 g · hr−1, where only the last stage (Phase V) is associated with the second step of germination sensu stricto. The imbibition phase was the shortest germination phase (1.3 hr), whereas the predominantly biochemical phase was the longest (5 days after sowing [DAS]). Germinability was high (77.5–86.5%), with high daily embryo protrusion (2.46–3.03 diaspores · day−1). Protocorm emergence marked the end of the first step of germination sensu stricto (9 DAS), and first protocorm rupture (11 DAS) marked the end of the second step. The growth stimulus only concentrated the germination process, showing that the diaspores do not have primary dormancy. Knowing these diaspores’ peculiarities during germination sensu stricto avoids a false positive statement on the existence of diaspore dormancy.  相似文献

This study represents part of a broader investigation into novel seed broadcasting methodologies as a means to optimize rehabilitation techniques following sand mining. Specifically, the study investigated the use of polymer seed coatings, time of sowing application, and in situ raking of the topsoil to optimize seedling recruitment to site. For polymer seed coatings, an ex situ trial was undertaken to evaluate seed coating effects on seedling emergence. Results demonstrated that seed coatings did not significantly inhibit maximum emergence percentage of 10 Banksia woodland species (out of 11 evaluated), but coated seeds from four species were on average 2–6 days slower to emerge than noncoated seeds. Seed coatings were found to have a greater effect in situ, with more coated seeds emerging than noncoated seeds. Topsoil raking (following seed sowing) and time of sowing were found to have the greatest impact on seedling emergence, with higher emergence following topsoil raking (5‐ to 90‐fold increase) and sowing in May (late autumn) (1.4‐ to 12‐fold increase) rather than in July (mid‐winter). The implications for mining rehabilitation are discussed, and areas for further research are considered.  相似文献
