用电镜负染方法在发病的贻贝内脏团、鳃、外套膜组织匀浆中观察到一种球形病毒粒子,其直径为80-200nm,具囊膜。上述组织超薄切片发现在其结缔组织细胞质中均存在该病毒粒子,带双层囊膜,有“封入体”结构,未见包涵体。在未发病的杂色蛤、香螺、牡蛎等内脏团中也观察到少量同种病毒粒子。用带病毒贻贝组织匀浆投喂和划伤感染不带病毒的绣凹螺,使之成为带病毒状态。采用蔗糖梯度离心法,25000r/min,离心3h,可于20%-30%蔗糖层间获得病毒沉淀带。 相似文献

Phosphorus-31 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra were recorded from freshly excised and resting anterior byssus retractor muscles of the mussel Mytilus edulis. The absolute concentrations of phosphometabolites measured by NMR compare well with the values obtained by a biochemical method. Quantitative measurements were achieved in several minutes by applying to the observed NMR signals a correction taking the saturation effects into account. The time evolution of the phosphometabolite concentrations reveals that the hydrolysis of phosphoarginine is a first-order reaction producing inorganic phosphate, whilst the adenosine triphosphate level remains constant for more than 10 h. The phosphoarginine hydrolysis rate varies as a function of the season and reaches a maximum during the reproduction period of the mussel. This increase in phosphoarginine consumption could be bound up with the higher excitability of the muscles during spring. The activation energy of the phosphoarginine hydrolysis reaction also depends on the season and the difference between the value determined in winter and that measured in spring is explained by a modification of the mode of action or of the proportions of the enzymes involved in the muscular metabolism. 相似文献

A focused ultrastructural study of Marteilia spp. found in cultured Ostrea edulis, Mytilus edulis and Mytilus galloprovincialis from France and Spain was conducted with emphasis placed on haplosporosomes, striated plate-like inclusions and spore wall morphology. Two types of haplosporosome were identified, sphaeroid and oblate, which were common to the parasite in all 3 host species. A total of 492 haplosporosomes were measured; those from the Marteilia sp. in Mytilus spp. were marginally smaller than those in Ostrea edulis. Spore wall morphology was found to vary depending on the state of maturity of the parasite--the more mature the parasite, the thicker the wall surrounding it. It is suggested that the current criteria used to distinguish M. maurini from M. refringens are invalid and that M. maurini was relegated to a junior synonym of M. refringens. 相似文献

The absence of specific stimulators of cell proliferation, i.e. of growth factors, is one of the causes of failure in long-term cultivation of the marine invertebrate cells. In search for such stimulators in tissues of marine invertebrates, we succeeded in discovering in some tissues a stimulator of cell proliferation, similar to EGF, with a comparatively high content of it in tissues of Mytilus edulis. The similarity of the obtained factor with EGF was shown by the substitution of 125I-EGF, connected with EGF receptors on the surface of A431 cells, with analysed extracts, as well as by the ability of this extract to induce the internalization of EGF-receptor complexes. The fraction of acid/ethanol extract of M.edulis stimulating the cell proliferation in resting mouse fibroblasts Swiss 3T3, was obtained in the same conditions as EGF did, using reversed phase chromatography. Thus, the factor from tissues of M.edulis may belong to the family of EGF-like factors. 相似文献

We studied the following growth indices of the White Sea mussels Mytilus edulis: shell length, total weight, soft tissue weight, and shell weight. The coefficients of allometric relationships between the indices were determined. Age-related changes in the indices could be approximated by the Bertalanffy equation. The maximum age of mollusks in the studied population equaled 13 years (with the maximum shell length of 66.2 mm). Growth rate of littoral mussels in the region of Umba Settlement (Northern Kandalaksha Bay) was lower as compared to those published for other littoral White Sea populations (Chupa Bay). 相似文献

The common blue marine mussel adheres to underwater surfaces using an adhesive protein (Mefp-1) extruded from its foot. This highly hydroxylated protein contains a number of unusual amino acids, including 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA), which is thought to contribute to the crosslinking of the extruded threads and adhesion to the substratum. Mefp-1 adheres to a wide variety of surfaces and is ultimately biodegradable. In this study we use surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) to characterize the adsorption of DOPA-containing peptides on colloidal gold. The peptides are simplified fragments of the Mefp-1 consensus decapeptide repeat, Ala-Lys-Pro-Ser-Tyr-DHP-Hyp-Thr-DOPA-Lys. Our results show that the peptides TDeltaKA, PTDeltaKA, and PPTDeltaKA (where Delta represents DOPA) coordinate to the gold surface through the catechol oxygens of the DOPA residue and through primary amine groups. The diproline sequence introduces conformational constraints that influence the conformations of the adsorbed peptides. These findings lay the groundwork for developing synthetic adhesives for underwater and medical applications. 相似文献

Mussels (Mytilus edulis) were exposed to trimethyl(carboxymethyl)arsonium bromide (arsenobetaine, C-1 betaine), trimethyl(2-carboxyethyl)arsonium bromide (C-2 betaine), or trimethyl(3-carboxypropyl)arsonium bromide (C-3 betaine). Arsenic was accumulated by the mussels in all cases but the efficiency of uptake decreased with the number of methylene units in the carboxyalkyl group. Arsenobetaine (C-1 betaine) was the most readily accumulated, followed by the C-2 betaine (70% as efficient as arsenobetaine) and the C-3 betaine (∼7%). Chromatographic analysis (HPLC-ICPMS) of extracts of the mussels demonstrated that the arsenic compounds were accumulated uncahanged. A 46-day depuration period which followed exposure did not significantly reduce the arsenic concentration in any of the three groups. Comparison with previous data on accumulation of arsenic compounds by M. edulis indicates that uptake may be influenced by the presence of a quaternary arsonium group and the zwitterionic nature of the arsenic-betaines. 相似文献

The stability and the effect of pH and temperature on the activity of aspartate transcarbamylase from mantle of mussel were studied. The Km values for aspartic acid and carbamylphosphate at 35 degrees C are 1.8 X 10(-2) M and 7 X 10(-3) M respectively, values of Vmax being identical at 17.54 nM carbamylaspartate formed/min/mg protein. Allosteric effectors of ATCase (ATP and CTP) have no effect on the activity of mantle ATCase. PHMB and Cu2+ are strong inhibitors of the ATCase activity, organic solvents (DMF, DMSO) having a strong stimulatory action. ATCase from mantle of mussel has been compared to ATCase from different sources. 相似文献

- 1.1. The activities of S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase (EC 4.1.1.50) were measured in cell extracts of mantle, hepatopancreas and foot from Mytilus edulis.

- 3.3. The enzymes do not require bivalent cations for catalysis and show optimum pH between 7.0–8.0 in phosphate buffer.
