The effect of human urogastrone on lung phospholipids in fetal rabbits   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Previous in vivo studies have demonstrated that mouse epidermal growth factor (EGF) can enhance fetal lung maturation. We have examined the effect of urogastrone, the human equivalent of mouse EGF and a related growth factor, on the phospholipid profile of fetal rabbit lung lavage and its action on fetal rabbit Type II pneumocytes in culture. Urogastrone (1 or 8 micrograms) given i.p. to fetal rabbits on day 25 of gestation resulted in increased total phospholipid, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylethanolamine contents, increased phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylethanolamine as a proportion of phospholipid and decreased sphingomyelin as a proportion of phospholipid in lung lavages on day 28. These changes were unaccompanied by alterations in body weight or lung weight, DNA or protein concentrations. Urogastrone (16 micrograms) resulted in increased fetal deaths. Phospholipid profiles on day 27 were unchanged after fetal administration of urogastrone (1 microgram) on day 25. Urogastrone (0.01 and 0.1 ng/ml) added to fetal rabbit Type II pneumocytes in culture for 24 h enhanced the incorporation of radiolabelled choline and thymidine into phosphatidylcholine and DNA respectively. These findings indicate that human urogastrone can alter the phospholipid composition of the rabbit lung in a similar manner to that which occurs during maturation of the lung surfactant system in late pregnancy. This effect can be achieved, at least in part, by a direct action on Type II pneumocytes.  相似文献

Sex differences in amniotic fluid and lung lavage surfactant have been found. Although these studies suggest that augmented fetal surfactant synthesis occurs earlier in the female fetus, there is little direct evidence for a sex difference in fetal surfactant synthesis. We studied the synthesis of surfactant by evaluating the appearance of labelled phospholipids in lamellar bodies recovered from sex-specific organ culture of fetal rabbit lungs. Furthermore, we studied the ability of dexamethasone to stimulate surfactant synthesis in male and female fetal lungs. Organ culture was begun on day 21 of gestation. After 5 days the incorporation of [1,3-14C]glycerol into phosphatidylcholine (PC), disaturated phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol (PI), and phosphatidylglycerol was studied. Female lungs in organ culture synthesized more disaturated PC per milligram protein than male lungs. In the presence of dexamethasone (10(-8) M) and dihydrotestosterone (10(-8) M) an increased synthesis was noted in the female cultures of PC (270%), disaturated PC (234%), PI (281%), and phosphatidylglycerol (754%). No significant increase in the synthesis of PC or disaturated PC was observed in the male cultures. However in the male cultures smaller increases in the synthesis of PI (193%) and of phosphatidylglycerol (360%) were observed. Overall, dexamethasone stimulated synthesis in females but not in males such that significant differences in the synthesis of all phospholipids were found in the presence of 10(-8) M dexamethasone. These studies show that the synthesis of surfactant in the fetal lung is sexually dimorphic, as is the ability of dexamethasone to regulate synthesis. An understanding of the mechanism which causes these differences may provide important insight into the control of the developmental clock which regulates the orderly progression of development.  相似文献

Explants of lung tissue from 19-day gestational age fetal rabbits were maintained in organ culture in medium with or without fetal calf serum for 1 to 11 days. Based on the results of biochemical and morphological studies it was apparent that the type II pneumonocyte differentiated in vitro at a time similar to that which occurs with maturation in vivo. The epithelial cells of the presumptive alveoli were undifferentiated at the start of incubation, but within 9 days developed increased amounts of Golgi apparatus and rough endoplasmic reticulum, many microvilli on the luminal surface and numerous lamellar bodies. Secreted lamellar bodies and tubular myelin figures were observed in the lumina of cultured explants. The incorporation of [3H]choline into phosphatidylcholine by lung tissue explants maintained in medium containing 10% fetal calf serum remained relatively constant for 7 days of incubation but thereafter increased two-fold. When explants were maintained in fetal calf serum-containing medium and cortisol (10?7M) or betamethasone (10?7M), the incorporation of choline into phosphatidylcholine was two to three times greater than that of explants maintained in serum-containing medium without cortisol. When explants of fetal lung tissue were incubated in the presence of cortisol without fetal calf serum there was no stimulatory effect of cortisol on phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis. Therefore, serum cofactors are necessary for the stimulatory effects of cortisol on fetal lung development. The specific activity of phosphatidate phosphohydrolase (PAPase) increased to very high levels during the culture period. In the presence of serum, cortisol or betamethasone had no effect on the specific activity of phosphatidate phosphohydrolase.  相似文献

1. Maternal administration of betamethasone (0.2 mg/kg) on day 25 or 26 of gestation produced a significant decrease in the lung/body weight ratio of the rabbit fetuses within 24 h. 2. The incorporation of [14C]choline but not [14C]ethanolamine into the lipids of fetal lung slices was significantly increased, indicating that there was a specific effect on phosphatidylcholine synthesis. 3. The activities of a number of marker enzymes for subcellular organelles were elevated, especially in the lungs of fetuses delivered on day 26. The increases in monoamine oxidase (mitochondrial outer membrane), beta-glycerophosphatase and aqueously dispersed phosphatidic acid-dependent phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase (lysosomal) activities were significant. 4. Although the activity of cholinephosphotransferase was not affected by glucocorticoid treatment, the activities of glycerol-3-phosphate phosphatidyltransferase and the activities of two enzymes in the auxiliary pathways for the production of disaturated phosphatidylcholine (lysophosphatidylcholine:lysophosphatidylcholine transacylase and lysophosphatidylcholine:acyl-CoA acyl-transferase) were significantly increased. 5. Membrane-bound phosphatidic acid-dependent phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase activity was elevated to a lesser extent than the aqueously dispersed phosphatidate-dependent activity and this increase was not significant. 6. The incorporation of E135S]methionine into protein by slices of fetal lung was significantly reduced after maternal treatment with betamethosone. 7. These results are consistent with the general view that glucocorticoids can induce pulmonary maturation and surfactant production in the rabbit fetus but indicate that some of the former hypotheses regarding the mechanism by which lipid synthesis is accelerated must be reevaluated.  相似文献

To study the effect of oligohydramnios on lung growth and biochemical lung development in fetal rabbits, amniotic fluid was drained through a tube inserted into the maternal peritoneal cavity on the 23 day of gestation. Littermate fetuses without an amniotic shunt were used as controls. The fetuses were delivered abdominally on the 28 day of gestation. In a total of 8 pregnant does, 17 fetuses underwent amniotic shunting and 22 fetuses were used as controls. The amniotic shunt produced a significant reduction in the amniotic fluid volume. There were no differences in the wet weights of the fetal body, liver or brain between the two groups. However, the amniotic shunt significantly decreased the wet weight of the fetal lung, fetal lung wet weight/body weight ratio, and protein concentration per lung as compared to the control fetuses. In the fetal liver and brain tissues, no changes were found in the concentrations of total phospholipids, phosphatidylcholine (PC) or disaturated phosphatidylcholine (DSPC, the main component of lung surfactant) per g of wet tissue and per mg of protein. However, the lungs of the fetuses with amniotic shunts contained significantly more PC and DSPC, and the L/S ratio was higher than in the control fetuses. These results suggest that the oligohydramnios produced by an amniotic shunt causes pulmonary hypoplasia, but raises the pulmonary surfactant content of fetal rabbit lung.  相似文献

Quantification of surfactant phospholipids in the dog lung   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We quantified total phospholipid (PL), total and disaturated phosphatidylcholine (PC and DSPC), phosphatidylglycerol (PG), and total protein in alveolar washings and lung tissue in 22 dog lungs. Quantitative recovery of alveolar material and assessment of its possible contamination by blood lipids were important determinants of methodology. To remove blood, the vessels of half the lungs were perfused with a fluorocarbon emulsion before lavage. The volume of blood removed by perfusion and the quantity and fatty acid patterns of its whole blood and plasma PL and PC were determined. Washings of unperfused lungs contained means of 21% more PL and 24% more PC than those of perfused lungs. Although this excess could be accounted for by the PL and PC in pulmonary blood, the hemoglobin and total protein content of washings and their PC fatty acid patterns indicated that blood lipids were not a major source of the excess lipid in washings of unperfused lungs. Using more recent morphometric estimates rather than the indirect ones previously used by others, the quantity of alveolar DSPC (1 mg/g lung) is calculated to be 1.8 times the amount necessary to form a packed monolayer on the internal surface of the lung at functional residual capacity.  相似文献

Extensive homogenization of lung tissue by nitrogen decompression in a Parr disruption bomb increased by 5-fold the yields of low-density phospholipid (d = 1.06) achieved by other methods. This intracellular phospholipid preparation was high in phosphatidylcholines (84.3%), particularly disaturated phosphatidylcholine (51.2%). On the basis of its low density, composition, and morphological appearance, we concluded that this phospholipid was derived from the intracellular compartment of pulmonary surfactant. We examined the relationship between intra- and extra-cellular surfactant pools according to age, gender and silica-induced pulmonary injury. In normal animals the intracellular pool of surfactant phospholipids increased from 1.54 +/- 0.14 mg at 1 day after birth to 62.30 +/- 4.50 mg per pair of lungs after 31 months, and over the same time period the extracellular pool increased from 1.04 +/- 0.15 mg to 27.45 +/- 2.30 mg per pair of lungs. The ratio between the extracellular and intracellular pools of surfactant increased from 1.50 +/- 0.19 at 1 day after birth to 2.28 +/- 0.23 after 31 months of age. The ratio between the two pools was not influenced by gender, but was changed by the intratracheal injection of silica into the lungs. Intratracheal injection of silica dust increased the levels of surfactant in both compartments, but not to the same extent, indicating that the ratio between the pools could be changed by toxic materials. These data suggest the existence of a size relationship between the intra- and the extra-cellular pools of surfactant, a relationship which implies a common regulatory mechanism that can be disturbed during pulmonary injury.  相似文献

The aims of this study were to investigate the control of fatty acid synthesis and its relationship to surfactant production in the fetal lung during alteration of hormonal and substrate conditions. Lung explants from 18 day fetuses (term = 22 days) which were cultured 2 days in the presence of 10 mM lactate showed parallel acceleration of de novo fatty acid synthesis (3H2O incorporation) and [14C]choline incorporation into disaturated phosphatidylcholine (DSPC) compared to culture of explants in glucose. Both the cultured and fresh explants were resistant to the classical short term (4 h) cAMP inhibition of fatty acid synthesis with 3 mM dibutyryl cAMP or 0.5 mM aminophylline. In the cultured explants short term cAMP elevation increased DSPC production, and long term (2 day) cAMP elevation caused a further increase in DSPC synthesis and also stimulated fatty acid synthesis. In cultured explants from 17 day fetuses, dexamethasone (0.1 microM) caused a synergistic increase with aminophylline in both fatty acid synthesis and DSPC production whereas, in explants from 18 day fetuses, dexamethasone inhibited both processes and reduced the level of stimulation of DSPC and fatty acid synthesis seen with aminophylline alone. Dexamethasone also reduced the stimulation of both DSPC and fatty acid synthesis produced in the culture of 18 day explants with bacitracin (0.5 mg/ml), whereas the combination of bacitracin and aminophylline resulted in a synergistic increase in DSPC production. Culture with glucagon (0.1 microM) also stimulated DSPC synthesis but at physiological levels insulin had no effect on either DSPC or fatty acid synthesis. These data show that lung fatty acid synthesis exhibits unique features of fatty acid synthesis regulation compared to other lipogenic tissues and also suggest a link between de novo fatty acid synthesis and surfactant production during the critical period of accelerated lung maturation.  相似文献

Antibodies directed against the major apoprotein of rabbit lung surfactant, a 29-36-kDa glycoprotein, were used to study changes in the levels of translatable surfactant apoprotein mRNA in rabbit lung tissue during development, as well as the effects of cortisol and cyclic AMP analogues on the levels of surfactant apoprotein and its mRNA in fetal rabbit lung tissue in organ culture. The major surfactant apoprotein and its mRNA were undetectable in lung tissues of 21-day gestational age fetal rabbits. Translatable mRNA specific for the major surfactant apoprotein was first detectable in lung tissues of 26-day fetuses, increased 25-fold on day 28, reached peak levels at day 31, and declined after birth. Incubation of 21-day fetal rabbit lung explants with cortisol in serum-free medium resulted in an increase in the specific content of the 29-36-kDa apoprotein. Cyclic AMP analogues and forskolin, an activator of adenylate cyclase, also caused a marked increase in the accumulation of surfactant apoprotein. When fetal lung explants were incubated with cortisol and dibutyryl cyclic AMP in combination, the specific content of the surfactant apoprotein was increased to levels greater than that of explants treated with either cortisol or dibutyryl cyclic AMP alone. These effects of dibutyryl cyclic AMP and cortisol on surfactant apoprotein accumulation were associated with comparable changes in the levels of translatable surfactant apoprotein mRNA. Thus, we have shown for the first time that the induction of pulmonary surfactant apoprotein synthesis during differentiation in vitro and in vivo is associated with an increase in the level of translatable mRNA and that cortisol and cyclic AMP increase both the accumulation of the major surfactant apoprotein and the corresponding mRNA in fetal rabbit lung tissue in vitro.  相似文献

Two newly described surfactant proteolipids (SPL), Phe and pVal, are produced by proteolytic processing of distinct precursors of Mr = 40,000 and 22,000, respectively. These proteins are structurally related and intimately associated with surfactant phospholipids. We now demonstrate the expression of both SPL(Phe) and SPL(pVal) in explants of human fetal lung from 16-24 weeks of gestation. Content, synthesis, and mRNA for the proteolipids were low prior to organ culture of fetal lung. Induction of synthesis of the proteolipids occurred rapidly in explant culture in the absence of exogenous hormones and was enhanced by addition of dexamethasone. Increased synthesis of the proteolipids was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and by [35S]methionine incorporation into the glycosylated Mr = 40,000-43,000 SPL (Phe) precursor. The response to dexamethasone occurred rapidly and contrasted with effects of dexamethasone on the expression of surfactant-associated protein- (SAP) 35, a distinct surfactant glycoprotein. 8-Br-cAMP did not significantly increase proteolipid content but markedly increased synthesis of SAP-35 in identical cultures. Increased proteolipid content was associated with increased mRNA for each protein as determined by the Northern blot analysis. Proteolipid RNA was also increased by 8-Br-cAMP, however, not to the extent observed with the glucocorticoid. Immunohistochemical analysis of fetal lung with anti-proteolipid antiserum confirmed that the dexamethasone-enhanced synthesis of the proteins by Type II epithelial cells. The time and hormone dependence of the regulation of expression of both SPL(Phe) and SPL(pVal) precursors were distinct from that of SAP-35. Expression of the surfactant proteolipids increased during explant culture of human fetal lung and was further enhanced by glucocorticoid. Developmental and hormonal regulation of the surfactant proteolipids may be important factors in surfactant function at birth.  相似文献

cDNAs for ovine surfactant-associated protein (SP) A, SP-B, and SP-C have been cloned and shown to possess strong similarity to cDNAs for surfactant apoproteins in other species. These reagents were employed to examine the effect of fetal hypoxia on the induction of surfactant apoprotein expression in the fetal lamb. Postnatal lung function is dependent on adequate growth and maturation during fetal development. Insulin-like growth factor (IGF) I and IGF-II, which are present in all fetal tissues studied, possess potent mitogenic and proliferative actions, and their effects can be modulated by IGF-specific binding proteins (IGFBPs). Hypoxia can lead to increases in circulating cortisol and catecholamines that can influence lung maturation. Therefore, the effects of mild hypoxia in chronically catheterized fetal lambs at gestational days 126-130 and 134-136 (term 145 days) on the expression of pulmonary surfactant apoproteins and IGFBPs were examined. Mild hypoxia for 48 h resulted in an increase in plasma cortisol that was more pronounced at later gestation, and in these animals, there was a twofold increase in SP-A mRNA. SP-B mRNA levels also increased twofold, but this was not significant. SP-C mRNA was not altered. No significant changes in apoprotein mRNA were observed with the younger fetuses. However, these younger animals selectively exhibited reduced IGFBP-5 mRNA levels. IGF-I mRNA was also reduced at 126-130 days, although this conclusion is tentative due to low abundance. IGF-II levels were not affected at either gestational age. We conclude that these data suggest that mild prolonged fetal hypoxia produces alterations that could affect fetal cellular differentiation early in gestation and can induce changes consistent with lung maturation closer to term.  相似文献

Saturated phospholipids are known to be the only surface active compounds present in the surfactant system of the lung. Using light microscopy, the identification in situ of pulmonary surfactant has always been hampered by the lack of satisfactory fixatives and dyes which act on saturated phospholipids fast enough to prevent the complete loss of surfactant in the solutions. In this study we adopted the tricomplex flocculation proposed by Elbers et al. (1965) to fix surfactant phospholipids on frozen sections obtained from human, pig and rat lungs. Small pieces of lung tissue were quickly frozen in freon 22 kept at -75 C.; eight micron sections were cut in a cryostat, air dried and immersed for 30s-5m in a 0.05 N Pb(NO3)2 + K3Fe (CN)6 solution in 10% formalin. Lead ions bound to the choline portion of phospholipid molecules were subsequently revealed in a 30 mM ammonium sulfide solution. This procedure delineates a dark brown filmy structure in the respiratory parenchyma, which is very loosely attached to the alveoli and appears to be related to lung surfactant. Preliminary lung lavage or pretreatment of sections with saline, aldehyde fixatives and several organic solvents, fully or partially abolish the stain.  相似文献

Surfactant proteolipid (SP-B) is one of several hydrophobic peptides detected in organic extracts of pulmonary surfactant and associated with the dramatic surface-active properties of surfactant phospholipids. In the present study human SP-B was identified as a protein with a relative molecular weight (Mr) of 7,500-8,000 under reducing conditions; protein of Mr 18,000 was detected under nonreducing conditions by immunoblot analysis of organic extracts of bovine and human surfactant utilizing an antiserum directed against a 60-amino acid synthetic SP-B peptide. This peptide antiserum was subsequently used to identify SP-B in explant cultures of 18- to 23-wk gestation human fetal lung. Immunoprecipitation of explants labeled with [35S]methionine after 48 h of culture identified proteins of Mr 40,000-42,000, 25,000, and 18,000 after electrophoresis under nonreducing conditions. The Mr 18,000 form was reduced to Mr 7,500-8,000 in the presence of beta-mercaptoethanol. These molecular forms likely represent the SP-B precursor protein, a proteolytic intermediate, and the mature SP-B peptide, respectively. Immunocytochemistry with the peptide antiserum localized SPL(Phe) in granular inclusions in the apical region of type II-like epithelial cells, a pattern of staining similar to that observed for the major surfactant-associated protein of Mr 26,000-38,000 (SP-A). SP-B is a novel pulmonary surfactant-associated protein that is synthesized by the human alveolar type II epithelial cell as an Mr 40,000-42,000 precursor that is subsequently proteolytically processed to Mr 7,500-8,000.  相似文献

Pressure-volume relationships and collagen and elastin contents were measured in the lungs of fetal sheep infused either with saline (n = 4), thyrotrophin-releasing hormone (TRH; n = 6), cortisol (n = 9) or TRH plus cortisol (n = 10) at 128 days of gestation (term = 149 days) for 7 days. Lung distensibility (V40 = 1.8 +/- 0.1 ml/g wet wt; mean +/- SD) and stability (V5 = 0.6 +/- 0.1) increased along with collagen (C) (10.1 +/- 2.7 micrograms/mg) and elastin (E) contents (128 +/- 35 ng/mg) in the animals infused with TRH plus cortisol and were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those observed in TRH (V40 0.62 +/- 0.07; V5 0.32 +/- 0.04; C 3.53 +/- 1.3; E 38.2 +/- 8.3), cortisol (V4 0.66 +/- 0.6; V5 0.27 +/- 0.03; C 4.27 +/- 0.8; E 41.02 +/- 12.7) or saline infused fetuses (V40 0.40 +/- 0.1; V5 0.20 +/- 0.06; C 3.28 +/- 0.9; E 31.5 +/- 9.2). Plasma concentrations of prolactin (PRL), triiodothyronine (T3) and cortisol (F) were also higher in the group of fetuses infused with both hormones in comparison with the other groups. In fetuses treated with TRH plus cortisol, PRL (32 +/- 8.3 ng/ml) and T3 (308.3 +/- 36 micrograms/dl) were significantly higher than in those infused with cortisol alone (PRL 3.7 +/- 2.3; T3 128 +/- 30) or with saline (PRL 4.2 +/- 1.6; T3 < 5 micrograms/dl). In the group treated with TRH alone, PRL also increased significantly (37 +/- 6.4), but T3 increased only slightly (18 +/- 3.4).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

We drained the amniotic fluid surrounding guinea pig fetuses between days 45 and 65 of gestation (term is 67 days). The fetuses were delivered by Cesarean section and the impact of prolonged oligohydramnios on lung growth, maturation and postnatal ventilatory pattern was measured. Untouched littermate fetuses served as controls. Neither fetal body, liver nor brain weights were significantly affected by the experimental situation. When expressed in percent of control values, lung weight (63%), lung/body weight ratio (70%), lung volume (67%), total lung DNA content (63%) and lung DNA per gram of fetal weight (71%) were all significantly less following amniotic fluid drainage, confirming the diagnosis of lung hypoplasia. Disaturated phosphatidylcholine content per gram of lung tissue and total lung glycogen content were not affected by the procedure, indicating that the maturity of the hypoplastic lungs was not delayed. When measured 4 to 6 hours after birth, tidal volume was significantly less (62%) and respiratory frequency was significantly more (137%); however, minute ventilation per unit of body weight was not significantly changed. This animal model of sublethal lung hypoplasia could become useful to study the potential for, and the kinetics of, postnatal catch-up lung growth about which little is known.  相似文献

The studies reported here used fluorescence microscopy and Brewster angle microscopy to test the classical model of how pulmonary surfactant forms films that are metastable at high surface pressures in the lungs. The model predicts that the functional film is liquid-condensed (LC) and greatly enriched in dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC). Both microscopic methods show that, in monolayers containing the complete set of phospholipids from calf surfactant, an expanded phase persists in coexistence with condensed domains at surface pressures approaching 70 mN/m. Constituents collapsed from the interface above 45 mN/m, but the relative area of the two phases changed little, and the LC phase never occupied more than 30% of the interface. Calculations based on these findings and on isotherms obtained on the continuous interface of a captive bubble estimated that collapse of other constituents increased the mol fraction of DPPC to no higher than 0.37. We conclude that monolayers containing the complete set of phospholipids achieve high surface pressures without forming a homogeneous LC film and with a mixed composition that falls far short of the nearly pure DPPC predicted previously. These findings contradict the classical model.  相似文献

Deterioration of pulmonary surfactant function has been reported in interstitial lung disease; however, the molecular basis is presently unclear. We analyzed fatty acid (FA) profiles of several surfactant phospholipid classes isolated from large-surfactant aggregates of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF; n = 12), hypersensitivity pneumonitis (n = 5), and sarcoidosis (n = 12). Eight healthy individuals served as controls. The relative content of palmitic acid in phosphatidylcholine was significantly reduced in IPF (66.8 +/- 2.5%; means +/- SE; P < 0.01) but not in hypersensitivity pneumonitis (78.5 +/- 1.8%) and sarcoidosis (78.2 +/- 3.1%; control 80.1 +/- 0.7%). In addition, the phosphatidylglycerol FA profile was significantly altered in the IPF patients, with a lower relative content of its major FA, oleic acid, at the expense of saturated FA. In the phosphatidylcholine class, a significant correlation between the impairment of biophysical surfactant function and decreased percentages of palmitic acid was noted. We conclude that significant alterations in the FA profile of pulmonary surfactant phospholipids occur predominantly in IPF and may contribute to the disturbances of alveolar surface activity in this disease.  相似文献

Administration of betamethasone (0.2 mg/kg, intramuscularly) to pregnant rabbits had the following effects on the fetal lung at 26–27 days gestation. It increased the amount of phosphatidylcholine in lung lavage by 70% and almost doubled the phosphatidylcholine/sphingomyelin ratio, it increased the rate of incorporation of choline into phosphatidylcholine in fetal lung slices by up to 90%, it increased the activities of pulmonary cholinephosphate cytidylyltransferase and phosphatidate phosphatase by 50% and it reduced the amount of lung glycogen to 60% of the amount in the controls. Betamethasone had no effect on the activities of pulmonary cholinephosphotransferase or lysolecithin: lysolecithin acyltransferase but it sligthly decreased the activity of choline kinase.Betamethasone administration to the doe did not increase the amount of surfactant phospholipid in fetal lung lavage to as great an extent as did direct administration of cortisol to the fetuses. Neither did betamethasone stimulate the activity of pulmonary cholinephosphotransferase. These data suggest that agents other than glucocorticoids mediate the stress-induced acceleration of fetal lung maturation and surfactant production.  相似文献
