The relation of the photosynthetic activity of phytoplankton biomass in the Volga River reservoirs to environmental factors has been analyzed. It is revealed that values of A/B and P/B coefficients depend to the largest extent on the content of total nitrogen, as well as on the temperature and illumination, the factors integrating the effect of geographical zonality. Among the proper phytoplankton parameters, its production capabilities are determined by the taxonomic composition, cenotic diversity and cell sizes, biomass, and physiological state of populations. Maximal values of A/B and P/B coefficients are characteristic of the algal communities with prevailing small-celled green, dinophytic, and cryptophytic algae.  相似文献

Biomass of photosynthetic picoplankton (Bpic), its contribution to the total phytoplankton biomass (Bpic%), chlorophyll a concentration (Chl), and associated hydrophysical characteristics of the water masses in the White Sea were estimated in June 2015 at 47 stations located in the open parts and in the inlets of the Onega and Kandalaksha Bays and in the western part of the Basin. Spatial variability of mean values of Bpic in the photic layer (0.01–1.91 mg C/m3) was preconditioned by sub- and mesoscale heterogeneity of the hydrological conditions. The values of Bpic were higher near the frontal zones than those in the water masses characterized by quasi-homogeneous distribution of the thermohaline characteristics. The relative contribution of Bpic did not exceed 1% at half of the stations and varied from 1 to 8% for the rest of the studied water area. The value of Bpic% reached 40.5% in the Basin and did not exceed 2% during the phytoplankton bloom in Knyazhaya Inlet (Chl > 3 mg/m3) accompanied by the dominance of Skeletonema costatum sensu lato.  相似文献

Elevated levels of interleukin-1 (IL-1) have been shown to amplify the inflammatory response against periodontopathogenic bacteria. In humans, polymorphisms in the IL1A and IL1B genes are the most well-studied genetic polymorphisms associated with periodontal disease (PD). In contrast to human, there is a lack of knowledge on the genetic basis of canine PD. A case–control study was conducted in which a molecular analysis of dog IL1A and IL1B genes was performed. Of the eight genetic variants identified, seven in IL1A gene and one in IL1B gene, IL1A/1_g.388A >C and IL1A/1_g.521T >A showed statistically significant differences between groups (adjusted OR (95% CI): 0.15 (0.03–0.76), P= 0.022; 5.76 (1.03–32.1), P= 0.046, respectively). It suggests that in the studied population the IL1A/1_g.388C allele is associated with a decreased PD risk, whereas the IL1A/1_g.521A allele can confer an increased risk. Additionally, the IL1A/2_g.515G >T variation resulted in a change of amino acid, i.e. glycine to valine. In silico analysis suggests that this change can alter protein structure and function, predicting it to be deleterious or damaging. This work suggests that IL1 genetic variants may be important in PD susceptibility in canines.  相似文献

The slow oxidation of alkanes (from methane to hexane) in their stoichiometric mixtures with oxygen or air under the action of nanosecond pulsed discharges was investigated. The discharges were excited in a tube of diameter 5 cm and length of 20 cm by 25-ns voltage pulses with an amplitude of 10 kV and a repetition rate of 40 Hz. The initial pressure in the mixture was varied in the range 0.76–10.1 torr. The current, the electric field strength, and the power deposited in a discharge were measured with a nanosecond time resolution. In time-resolved and time-integrated measurements, the intensities of the following bands were determined: CO 2 + (B2Σ → X2Π, δv=0), CH(A2Δ, v′=0 → X2Π, v″=0), OH(A2Σ, v′=0 → X2Π, v″=0), CO(B1Σ, v′=0 → A1Π, v″=2), NO(A2Σ → X2Π, δv=3), N2(C3Π, v′=1 → B3Π, v″=7), N2(B3Π, v′=6 → A3Σ, v″=3), and N 2 + (B2Σ, v′=0 → X2Σ, v″=2). The methane concentration was measured from the absorption of He-Ne laser radiation. Based on the results of optical measurements, the times of the complete oxidation of hydrocarbons were determined.  相似文献

The reduction kinetics of the photo-oxidized primary electron donor P700 in photosystem I (PS I) complexes from cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 were analyzed within the kinetic model, which considers electron transfer (ET) reactions between P700, secondary quinone acceptor A1, iron-sulfur clusters and external electron donor and acceptors – methylviologen (MV), 2,3-dichloro-naphthoquinone (Cl2NQ) and oxygen. PS I complexes containing various quinones in the A1-binding site (phylloquinone PhQ, plastoquinone-9 PQ and Cl2NQ) as well as F X-core complexes, depleted of terminal iron–sulfur F A/F B clusters, were studied. The acceleration of charge recombination in F X-core complexes by PhQ/PQ substitution indicates that backward ET from the iron–sulfur clusters involves quinone in the A1-binding site. The kinetic parameters of ET reactions were obtained by global fitting of the P700 + reduction with the kinetic model. The free energy gap ΔG 0 between F X and F A/F B clusters was estimated as ?130 meV. The driving force of ET from A1 to F X was determined as ?50 and ?220 meV for PhQ in the A and B cofactor branches, respectively. For PQ in A1A-site, this reaction was found to be endergonic (ΔG 0?=?+75 meV). The interaction of PS I with external acceptors was quantitatively described in terms of Michaelis–Menten kinetics. The second-order rate constants of ET from F A/F B, F X and Cl2NQ in the A1-site of PS I to external acceptors were estimated. The side production of superoxide radical in the A1-site by oxygen reduction via the Mehler reaction might comprise ≥0.3% of the total electron flow in PS I.  相似文献

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory system that affects primarily distal respiratory pathways and lung parenchyma. Smoking tobacco is a major risk factor for COPD. The relationship of HTR4 (rs3995090), HTR2A (rs6313), GRIK5 (rs8099939), GRIN2B (rs2268132), and CHRNB4 (rs1948) gene polymorphisms and COPD, as well as the contribution of these polymorphisms to the variations in quantitative characteristics that describe respiratory function, smoking behavior, and nicotine dependence was assessed in an ethnically homogeneous Tatar population. The polymorphisms of HTR2A (rs6313) (P = 0.026, OR = 1.42 for the CC genotype) and GRIN2B (rs2268132) (P = 0.0001, OR = 2.39 for the TT genotype) were significantly associated with increased risk of COPD. The AA genotype of GRIK5 (rs8099939) had a protective effect (P = 0.02, OR = 0.61). Importantly, the HTR2A (rs6313), GRIN2B (rs2268132), and GRIK5 (rs8099939) polymorphisms were only associated with COPD in smokers. Smoking index (pack-years) was significantly higher in carriers of the GRIK5 genotype AC (rs8099939) (P = 0.0027). The TT genotype of GRIN2B (rs2268132) was associated with COPD in subjects with high nicotine dependence according to the Fagerström test (P = 0.002, OR = 2.98). The TT genotype of HTR2A (rs6313) was associated with a reduced risk of the disease in the group with moderate nicotine dependence (P = 0.02, OR = 0.22). The CC genotype of HTR2A (rs6313) and the TT genotype of GRIN2B (rs2268132) were associated with higher levels of nicotine dependence according to the Fagerström test (P = 0.0011 and P = 0.037). Our results may provide insight into potential molecular mechanisms that involve the glutamate (GRIK5, GRIN2B) and serotonin (HTR2A) receptor genes in the pathogenesis of COPD.  相似文献

Data on the chlorophyll a (Chl a) content in water of the Volga River reservoirs sampled at 64–73 sampling stations in the summer period of 2015 and 2016, analyzed using the standard spectrophotometric method, are presented. Chl a content varied from a minimum of 0.9–3.0 to a maximum of 7.6–32.1 μg/L in June 2016, from 2.1–15.5 to 9.4–86 μg/L in August 2015, and from 1.1–6.7 to 15.1–62.7 μg/L in August 2016. A local increase in Chl a occurred in the near-dam areas of the reservoirs, as well as downstream of the confluence with tributaries. The highest Chl a concentrations were constantly recorded in the highly eutrophic Shoshinskii Reach in the Ivankovo Reservoir and at the Oka River mouth in the Cheboksary Reservoir. The average values of Chl a concentrations make it possible to classify the Ivankovo, Uglich, Rybinsk, and Cheboksary reservoirs as eutrophic; the Gorky and Kuibyshev reservoirs as moderately eutrophic; and the Saratov and Volgograd reservoirs as mesotrophic.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to explore the role of lncRNA ANRIL in the pathogenesis of ischemic stroke (IS) and coronary artery disease (CAD) and to determine the association between ANRIL variants and the genetic susceptibility of IS and CAD in the Chinese Han population. A genetic association study including 550 IS patients, 550 CAD patients, and 550 healthy controls was conducted. The expression levels of lncRNA ANRIL, CDKN2A, and CDKN2B were detected using qRT-PCR. Genotyping was performed by Sequenom MassARRAY on an Agena platform. Our study showed that IS patients had an increased lncRNA ANRIL expression (P?=?0.002) and a decreased CDKN2A expression (P?<?0.001) compared with normal controls. A significant difference with regard to the genotype distribution of rs2383207 was found between male IS patients and controls (P?=?0.011). The minor allele of rs2383207 significantly increased the IS risk under a recessive model (OR?=?1.52, 95% CI?=?1.05–2.21, P?=?0.027). The minor allele of rs1333049 was significantly associated with the risk of IS among the male patients under a recessive model (OR?=?1.56, 95% CI?=?1.04–2.35, P?=?0.031). However, no significant association was found between the ANRIL variants and the risk of CAD (all P?>?0.050). In addition, we found a decreased lncRNA ANRIL expression in IS patients who carried the GG genotype of rs1333049 compared with IS patients who carried the CC or CG genotype (P?=?0.041). In summary, we found that IS patients had an increased lncRNA ANRIL expression and a decreased CDKN2A expression compared with the controls, which might play an impellent role in pathological processes of IS. The ANRIL variants rs2383207 and rs1333049 were significantly associated with the risk of IS among males but not females in the Chinese Han population.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the short-term effects of maize (Zea mays)-fallow rotation, residue management, and soil water on carbon mineralization in a tropical cropping system in Ghana. After 15 months of the trial, maize–legume rotation treatments had significantly (P?C 0 (μg CO2–C g?1) than maize–elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) rotations. The C 0 for maize–grass rotation treatments was significantly related to the biomass input (r?=?0.95; P?=?0.05), but that for the maize–legume rotation was not. The soil carbon mineralization rate constant, k (per day), was also significantly related to the rotation treatments (P?k values for maize–grass and maize–legume rotation treatments were 0.025 and 0.036 day?1 respectively. The initial carbon mineralization rate, m 0 (μg CO2–C g?1 day ?1), was significantly (P?θ. The m 0 ranged from 3.88 to 18.67 and from 2.30 to 15.35 μg CO2–C g?1 day?1 for maize–legume and maize–grass rotation treatments, respectively, when the soil water varied from 28% to 95% field capacity (FC). A simple soil water content (θ)-based factor, f w, formulated as: \(f_{\text{w}} = \left[ {\frac{{\theta - \theta _{\text{d}} }}{{\theta _{{\text{FC}}} - \theta _{\text{d}} }}} \right]\), where θ d and θ FC were the air-dry and field capacity soil water content, respectively, adequately described the variation of the m 0 with respect to soil water (R 2?=?0.91; RMSE?=?1.6). We studied the species composition and chromosomal variability of malaria mosquitoes in the Volga Basin (Upper, Middle, and Lower Volga regions). We investigated larvae karyotypes of sibling species of the Anopheles maculipennis group. We calculated the frequencies of chromosomal inversions in the local populations of the dominant species An. messeae. We discovered that karyotypic structure of An. messeae populations depends on landscape-climatic zones. Populations of the Upper, Middle and Lower Volga differ in frequency of chromosome inversions XL, 2R, 3R, and 3L.  相似文献

In this study we investigated expression of the SM30(A–F) gene family encoding Strongylocentrotus intermedius spicule matrix proteins during the normal and regenerative pluteus II stage (three pairs of arms). We found that SiSM30A and SiSM30B genes are expressed at high levels in the normal pluteus II sea urchin. SiSM30A is expression was also significantly upregulated in the reparative pluteus II stage 3 hours after damage. Conversely, SiSM30B was downregulated during the reparative pluteus II stage. Our findings reveal a substantial similarity between the activity of SiSM30A and SiSM30B activity in the processes of regenerative growth during the pluteus II stage and during normal development at the prism stage in Strongylocentrotus purpuratus. On the basis of our findings, we propose that normal developmental mechanisms corresponding to the preceding developmental stage are reactivated during pluteus regeneration.  相似文献

Abstract

Plant height (PH) is a complex trait in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) that includes the spike length (SL) and the internode lengths from the first to the fifth internode, which are counted from the top and abbreviated as FIRITL, SECITL, THIITL, FOUITL, and FIFITL, respectively. This study identified eight putative additive quantitative trait loci (QTL) for PH. In addition, unconditional and conditional QTL mapping were used to analyze the temporal and spatial expression patterns of five stable QTL for PH. qPh-3A mainly regulated SL, FIRITL, and FIFITL to affect PH during the booting–heading stage (BS–HS); qPh-3D regulated all internode lengths to affect PH, especially during the BS–HS; before HS, qPh-4B mainly affected FIRITL, SECITL, THIITL, and FOUITL and qPh-5A.1 mainly affected SECITL, THIITL, and FOUITL to regulate PH; and qPh-6B mainly regulated FIRITL to affect the PH after the booting stage (BS). qPhdv-4B, a QTL for the response of PH to nitrogen stress, was stable and co-localized with qPh-4B. All five stable QTL, except for qPh-3A, were related to the 1000 kernel weight and yield per plant. Regions of qPh-3A, qPh-3D, qPh-4B, qPh-5A.1, and qPh-6B showed synteny to parts of rice chromosomes 1, 1, 3, 9, and 2, respectively. Based on comparative genomics analysis, Rht-B1b was cloned and mapped in the CI of qPh-4B. This report provides useful information for fine mapping of the stable QTL for PH and the genetic improvement of wheat plant type.

Phycobiliproteins, light-harvesting pigments found in cyanobacteria and in some eukaryotic algae, have numerous commercial applications in food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. Colorant production from cyanobacteria offers advantages over their production from higher plants, as cyanobacteria have fast growth rate and high photosynthetic efficiency and require less space. In this study, three cyanobacteria strains were studied for phycobiliprotein production and the influence of sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate and ammonium chloride on the growth and phycobiliprotein composition of the strains were evaluated. In the batch culture period of 12 days, Phormidium sp. and Pseudoscillatoria sp. were able to utilize all tested nitrogen sources; however, ammonium chloride was the best nitrogen source for both strains to achieve maximum growth rate μ?=?0.284?±?0.03 and μ?=?0.274?±?0.13 day?1, chlorophyll a 16.2?±? 0.5 and 12.2?±? 0.2 mg L?1, and phycobiliprotein contents 19.38?±?0.09 and 19.99?±?0.14% of dry weight, whereas, for Arthrospira platensis, the highest growth rate of μ?=?0.304?±?0.0 day?1, chlorophyll a 19.1?±?0.5 mg L?1, and phycobiliprotein content of 22.27?±?0.21% of dry weight were achieved with sodium nitrate. The phycocyanin from the lyophilized cyanobacterial biomass was extracted using calcium chloride and food grade purity (A620/A280 ratio >?0.7) was achieved. Furthermore, phycocyanin was purified using two-step chromatographic method and the analytical grade purity (A620/A280 ratio >?4) was attained. SDS-PAGE demonstrated the purity and presence of two bands corresponding to α- and β-subunits of the C-phycocyanin. The results showed that Phormidium sp. and Pseudoscillatoria sp. could be good candidates for phycocyanin production.  相似文献

Changes in the main parameters of α-and β-adrenergic responses, sensitivity to agonists (EC 50) and maximum response (P m) of hindlimb and small intestinal blood pressure in situ and systemic blood pressure were studied in rabbits adapted to cold for 1–30 days (daily exposures to ?10°C for 6 h). The responses to phenylephrine, noradrenaline, adrenaline, clonidine (α-agonists), and isopropylnoradrenaline (β-agonist) corresponded to the equation p = (P m A n )/(EC 50 n + A n ) (1) with n = 1 and n = 2, respectively. Cold adaptation induced reciprocal changes in the response of both EC 50 and P m to α-agonists and in the response of P m alone to isopropylnoradrenaline. The significant differences of the parameters from control observed during the first 5 days of adaptation gradually decreased by day 30. After 10 days of adaptation, the efficiency (E = P m/2EC 50) of response to α-and β-agonists of adrenoceptors significantly increased.  相似文献

Based on the vague importance of shrub cover, an attempt was made to create a theoretical concept framework known as an ‘arthropod-island’ analytical model. These models were based on the multi-bond correlation between shrubs, soil properties, and above- and below-ground biotic communities. By utilizing published datasets on (i.e., above- and below-ground) arthropod communities related to shrub species and age, the proposed models for an ‘arthropod island’ were applied in order to determine their fitness for xeric ecosystems. It was found that the ‘arthropod-island’ concept could be the result of statistical differences in ecologically adaptive (i.e., preferable) redistribution of arthropods among the microhabitats beneath the shrub canopy and in the open spaces. Taxon density, relative to the richness and Shannon indices, was found to be more sensitive to the selected models. The relative interaction intensity index [RII = (A ? B)/(A + B), A = shrub canopy value, B = intershrub value] was found to be more suitable for the ‘arthropod island’ at the community level. The relative neighbor effect [RNE = (B ? A)/max(A, B)] and RII were found to be suitable at the population level, while the fitted model heavily depended on the variety of arthropod taxon. It was suggested that there were consistent ‘arthropod island’–shrub relationships between shrub species and between shrub ages in terms of arthropod density at the community level. The arthropod taxon was found to indicate an inconsistent ‘arthropod island’–shrub relationship between shrub species that differed from shrub ages at the population level.  相似文献

The parameters of the electrode region of an electrode microwave discharge in nitrogen are studied by emission spectroscopy. The radial and axial distributions of the intensities of the bands of the second (N2(C 3Π u B 3Π g )) and first (N2(B 3Π g A 3Σ u + )) positive systems of molecular nitrogen and the first negative system of nitrogen ions (N 2 + (B 2Σ u + X 2Σ g + )), the radial profiles of the electric field E and the electron density N e , and the absolute populations of the vibrational levels v C = 0–4 of the C 3Π u excited state of N2 and the vibrational level v Bi = 0 of the B 2Σ u + excited state of a molecular nitrogen ion are determined. The population temperature of the first vibrational level T V of the ground electronic state X 1Σ g + of N2 and the excitation temperature T C of the C 3Π u state in the electrode region of the discharge are measured. The radius of the spherical region and the spatially integrated plasma emission spectra are studied as functions of the incident microwave power and gas pressure. A method for determining the electron density and the microwave field strength from the plasma emission characteristics is described in detail.  相似文献

Local populations of the black honeybee Apis mellifera mellifera from the Urals and the Volga region were examined in comparison with local populations of southern honeybee subspecies A. m. caucasica and A. m. carpatica from the Caucasus and the Carpathians. Genetic analysis was performed on the basis of the polymorphism of nine microsatellite loci of nuclear DNA and the mtDNA COI–COII locus. On the territory of the Urals and the Volga region, five extant populations (reserves) of the black honeybee A. m. mellifera were identified, including the Burzyanskaya, Tatyshlinskaya, Yuzhno-Prikamskaya, Visherskaya, and Kambarskaya populations. These five populations are the basis of the modern gene pool of the black honeybee A. m. mellifera from the Urals and the Volga region. The greatest proportion of the remaining indigenous gene pool of A. m. mellifera (the core of the gene pool of the population of A. m. mellifera) is distributed over the entire territory of Perm krai and the north of the Republic of Bashkortostan. For the population of A. m. mellifera from the Urals and the Volga region, the genetic standards were calculated, which will be useful for future population studies of honeybees.  相似文献

The American rotifer Kellicottia bostoniensis (Rousselet, 1908) was first recorded in the Kama Reservoir (Kama River, Middle Volga basin) in 2012. The species was found in over 70% of the samples; its maximum abundance was 2000 ind./m3. This alien species co-existed with closely related native species K. longispina (Kellicott). This is the easternmost location (56°–57° E) for K. bostoniensis in the Volga River basin and in Europe.  相似文献

Results of research on the study of the effects of the interaction between the keeping-life gene alc with the elevated fruit pigmentation genes hp, dg, B og, and B c are presented. It is shown that use of the gene recombinations alc/alc//hp/hp//B og/B og(B c/B c) and alc/alc//dg/dg is the most effective means of creating highly commercial, long keeping life varieties of tomato with saturated-red coloring of the fruit.  相似文献
