The gonadotropins (GtHs), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), are heterodimers composed of a common α subunit (GPα) and a unique β subunit (FSHβ or LHβ); they are synthesized in and secreted from gonadotrophs (FSH and LH cells) in the pituitary. Little is known about the roles of FSH and LH during spermatogenesis in perciform fishes. In this study, we examined immunoreactive changes in FSH and LH cells, and changes in the gene expression of the three gonadotropin subunits in the pituitary of male chub mackerel Scomber japonicus during testicular development. FSHβ-immunoreactive (ir) and LHβ-ir cell area were measured immuno-histochemically based on the FSH and LH cell-occupying area in the proximal pars distalis. The FSHβ-ir cell area increased significantly during spermiation, while FSHβ mRNA levels, already high at the beginning of spermatogenesis, increased further, peaking during spermiation. In contrast, LHβ-ir cell area and LHβ mRNA levels, which were low at the beginning of spermatogenesis, increased significantly during late spermatogenesis, peaking during spermiation. For both FSH and LH, GtHβ-ir cell area and GtHβ mRNA levels decreased until gonadal resting. GPα mRNA levels showed similar changes to LHβ mRNA levels. These results suggest that in the chub mackerel, FSH may play an important role in the early and late phases of spermatogenesis, and that LH may play a role during late spermatogenesis and spermiation. Moreover, our results demonstrate that changes in GtHβ-ir cell area were accompanied by similar changes in the expression of the FSHβ and LHβ genes, both of which increased during testicular development.  相似文献

Male PD strain rats are sterile in the homozygous condition (pd/pd) due to abnormal spermatogenesis detectable at around nine weeks of age. Previous studies have indicated electron microscopic abnormalities in the Sertoli cells of pd/pd males at three and 12 weeks of age. Since spermatogenesis and Sertoli cell function depend on gonadotropins (luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones [LH and FSH]) and testosterone, production and/or secretion of these hormones might be altered in pd/pd males. The aim of the study reported here was to investigate the hormonal status of pd/pd males at three, six, and nine weeks of age. Although alteration was not evident in the LH-immunoreactive cells, FSH-immunoreactive cells in pd/pd males were small in size with scant cytoplasm and were reduced in number and area (73 and 51% of phenotypically normal pd/+ males, respectively) at three weeks of age, although serum FSH concentration was similar to that in pd/+ males. At six and nine weeks of age, percentages of the areas occupied by LH- and FSH-immunoreactive cells in pd/pd males were higher than those in pd/+ males. Serum FSH concentration in pd/pd males was significantly high at nine weeks of age, although a difference in serum LH and testosterone concentration was not evident. These results suggest that FSH production in pd/pd males is decreased at three weeks of age. This might be associated with the Sertoli cell abnormalities and subsequent abnormal spermatogenesis seen in adult life.  相似文献

Metronidazole, a 5-nitroimidazole drug has been reported to decrease testicular weight, testicular and epididymal spermatid counts and causes abnormal sperm morphology with degeneration of seminiferous tubules with 6 weeks treatment of metronidazole (400 mg/kg, day). In contrast to DNA flow cytometry (FCM), the histological and gravimetric parameters do not allow a rapid, sensitive, objective and multiparameteric evaluation of reproductive toxicants on spermatogenesis. Moreover, the exact mechanisms for such an effect are not entirely clear. The present study was therefore undertaken to assess the effects of intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration of metronidazole 400 mg/kg daily for 30 days on testicular germ cell changes assessed by DNA (FCM) and hormone levels of testosterone, FSH and LH in pre-pubertal rats. A significant reduction in the haploid cell population in metronidazole treated groups as compared to saline treated controls was observed. The mean serum FSH, LH and testosterone value were also lowered in treated animals. Thus, the spermatotoxic effects of metronidazole were probably mediated by decrease in the circulating hormones responsible for spermatogenesis.  相似文献

The pituitary gonadotropins luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) regulate steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis by activating receptors expressed by Leydig cells (LH receptor) and Sertoli cells (FSH receptor), respectively. This concept is also valid in fish, although the piscine receptors may be less discriminatory than their mammalian counterparts. The main biological activity of LH is to regulate Leydig-cell steroid production. Steroidogenesis is moreover modulated in an autoregulatory manner by androgens. The male sex steroids (testosterone in higher vertebrates, 11-ketotestosterone in fish) are required for spermatogenesis, but their mode of action has remained obscure. While piscine FSH also appears to have steroidogenic activity, specific roles have not been described yet in the testis. The feedback of androgens on gonadotrophs presents a complex pattern. Aromatizable androgens/estrogens stimulate LH synthesis in juvenile fish; this effect fades out during maturation. This positive feedback on LH synthesis is balanced by a negative feedback on LH release, which may involve GnRH neurones. While the role of GnRH as LH secretagogue is evident, we have found no indication in adult male African catfish for a direct, GnRH-mediated stimulation of LH synthesis. The limited available information at present precludes a generalized view on the testicular feedback on FSH.  相似文献

Effects of pure human follicle-stimulating hormone (hFSH) and ovine luteinizing hormone (oLH) on testicular function were investigated in long-term hypophysectomized or photoinhibited Djungarian hamsters. hFSH (5 IU) or oLH (5 micrograms) or a combination of FSH and LH (5 IU and 5 micrograms, respectively) were injected s.c. twice daily for 7 days to hypophysectomized and photoinhibited hamsters. Other photoinhibited hamsters were treated for 14 and 21 days with FSH and LH (3 IU and 3 micrograms, respectively) in a similar way. LH alone had little, if any, effect on testicular weights; FSH, when injected alone or in combination with LH (FSH/LH), caused a significant increase in testes weights at each time point. On the other hand, LH or FSH/LH, but not FSH alone, caused a significant increase in the accessory organ weights. FSH had no effect on intratesticular testosterone (T) or on 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3 beta-HSD) activity but enhanced the in vitro response of interstitial cells to hCG. LH and FSH/LH had pronounced effects on intratesticular T, 3 beta-HSD activity, and in vitro response of interstitial cells to human chorionic gonadotropin. Treatment with FSH or FSH/LH caused regrowth of the testis and restoration of tubular lumen and tubular diameter and restored complete spermatogenesis. However, LH had little effect on spermatogenesis in spite of increased intratesticular and peripheral T levels. These results indicate that although LH can cause a full redifferentiation of Leydig cells in photoinhibited hamsters, it has only minor effects on tubular function. On the other hand, FSH alone induces full restoration of tubular function in these animals and has no direct effect on Leydig cell steroidogenesis, but may enhance the Leydig cell responsiveness to LH.  相似文献

The role of pituitary gonadotropins in the regulation of spermatogenesis has been unequivocally demonstrated, although, the precise mechanism of this regulation is not clearly understood. Previous studies have shown that specific immunoneutralization of LH/testosterone caused apoptotic cell death of meiotic and post-meiotic germ cells while that of FSH resulted in similar death of meiotic cells. In the present study, the death process of germ cells has been characterized by depleting both FSH and testosterone by administering two different potent GnRH antagonists, Cetrorelix and Acyline to both rats and mice. Pro-survival factors like Bcl-2 and Bcl-x/l were unaltered in germ cells due to GnRH antagonist treatment, although a significant increase in several pro-apoptotic markers including Fas and Bax were evident at both protein and RNA levels. This culminated in cytochrome C release from mitochondria and eventually increase in the activity of caspase-8 and caspase-3. These data suggest that both extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic death pathways are operative in the germ cells death following decrease in FSH and testosterone levels. Multiple injections of GnRH antagonist resulted in complete disappearance of germ cells except the spermatogonial cells and discontinuation of the treatment resulted in full recovery of spermatogenesis. In conclusion our present data suggest that the principal role of FSH and testosterone is to maintain spermatogenic homeostasis by inhibiting death signals for the germ cells.  相似文献

Hormonal changes associated with the dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis following menopause/andropause have been implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Experimental support for this has come from studies demonstrating an increase in amyloid-beta (Abeta) deposition following ovariectomy/castration. Because sex steroids and gonadotropins are both part of the HPG feedback loop, any loss in sex steroids results in a proportionate increase in gonadotropins. To assess whether Abeta generation was due to the loss of serum 17beta-estradiol or to the up-regulation of serum gonadotropins, we treated C57Bl/6J mice with the anti-gonadotropin leuprolide acetate, which suppresses both sex steroids and gonadotropins. Leuprolide acetate treatment resulted in a 3.5-fold (p < 0.0001) and a 1.5-fold (p < 0.024) reduction in total brain Abeta1-42 and Abeta1-40 concentrations, respectively, after 8 weeks of treatment. To further explore the role of gonadotropins in promoting amyloidogenesis, M17 neuroblastoma cells were treated with the gonadotropin luteinizing hormone (LH) at concentrations equivalent to early adulthood (10 mIU/ml) or post-menopause/andropause (30 mIU/ml). LH did not alter amyloid-beta precursor protein (AbetaPP) expression but did alter AbetaPP processing toward the amyloidogenic pathway as evidenced by increased secretion and insolubility of Abeta, decreased alphaAbetaPP secretion, and increased AbetaPP-C99 levels. These results suggest the marked increases in serum LH following menopause/andropause as a physiologically relevant signal that could promote Abeta secretion and deposition in the aging brain. Suppression of the age-related increase in serum gonadotropins using anti-gonadotropin agents may represent a novel therapeutic strategy for AD.  相似文献

While the need for FSH in initiating spermatogenesis in the immature rat is well accepted, its requirement for maintenance of spermatogenesis in adulthood is questioned. In the current study, using gonadotropin antisera to neutralize specifically either endogenous FSH or LH, we have investigated the effect of either FSH or LH deprivation for a 10-day period on (i) testicular macromolecular synthesis in vitro, (ii) the activities of testicular germ cell specific LDH-X and hyaluronidase enzymes, and finally (iii) on the concentration of sulphated glycoprotein (SGP-2), one of the Sertoli cell marker proteins. Both immature (35-day-old) and adult (100-day-old) rats have been used in this study. Since LH deprivation leads to a near total blockade of testosterone production, the ability of exogenous testosterone supplementation to override the effects of LH deficiency has also been evaluated. Deprivation of either of the gonadotropins significantly affected in vitro RNA and protein synthesis by both testicular minces as well as single cell preparations. Fractionation of dispersed testicular cells preincubated with labelled precursors of RNA and protein on Percoll density gradient revealed that FSH deprivation affected specifically the rate of RNA and protein synthesis of germ cell and not Leydig cell fraction. LH but not FSH deprivation inhibited [3H]thymidine incorporation into DNA. The inhibitory effect of LH could mostly be overriden by testosterone supplementation. LDH-X and hyaluronidase activities of testicular homogenates of adult rats showed significant reduction (50%; P less than .05) following either FSH or LH deprivation. Again testosterone supplementation was able to reverse the LH inhibitory effect.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Expression of gonadotropin receptors and granulosa cell sensitivity to gonadotropin hormones by small (1-3 mm) and large (3.5-7 mm) follicles were compared in Romanov (ROM, ovulation rate = 3) and Ile-de-France (IF, ovulation rate = 1) ewes in the early and late follicular phase. In healthy follicles, LH receptor levels in granulosa cells increased with increasing follicular size (p < 0. 001) while FSH receptor levels decreased (p < 0.05). In granulosa cells of large follicles, LH receptor (LHR) mRNA levels were greater in the late than in the early follicular phase (p < 0.001, p < 0.05, for ROM and IF, respectively). In the early follicular phase, LHR levels in granulosa (p < 0.001) and theca cells (p < 0.05) of small follicles were greater in ROM than in IF ewes. FSH receptor mRNA levels in granulosa cells of small and large ROM follicles were greater than in the corresponding IF follicles (p < 0.05). Finally, a greater responsiveness (increase in cAMP secretion) to both FSH and hCG was observed by granulosa cells collected during the early follicular phase from ROM vs. IF ewes. Data provide evidence that the greater ovulation rate in the ROM as compared to the IF breed is associated with a greater gonadotropin responsiveness during the early follicular phase.  相似文献

Cryptorchidism for 28 or 10 days resulted in a severe disruption of spermatogenesis (assessed histologically or by fertility tests), Sertoli cell function (assessed by seminiferous tubule fluid production after efferent duct ligation, ABP levels, binding of 125I-labelled FSH to testis homogenates and serum FSH levels) and Leydig cell function (assessed by serum LH and testosterone levels, in-vitro testosterone production, binding of 125I-labelled hCG). Orchidopexy after 28 days of cryptorchidism resulted in a poor recovery of spermatogenesis since the majority of tubules were lined by Sertoli cells and a few spermatogonia. No recovery occurred in the indicators of Sertoli and Leydig cell function. Orchidopexy after 10 days of cryptorchidism also resulted in a poor recovery of spermatogenesis, with a few animals showing partial recovery after 6 months. No recovery occurred in seminiferous tubule fluid production but partial recovery occurred in ABP content and production rate. Serum FSH, LH levels and in-vitro testosterone production by the testis remained elevated and did not change from the values found during cryptorchidism. Fertility testing at 6 months revealed a small number of rats in which fertility was restored although the number of embryos was lower than in controls. In this group of animals there was a significant improvement in a number of indicators of Sertoli cell and Leydig cell function. These data provide further evidence to link the changes in Sertoli cell and Leydig cell function to the germ cell complement present in the testis.  相似文献

The effect of ethanol (4 g/kg) as well as the role of serotoninergic neurons on the rate of ovulation and plasma LH, FSH and prolactin secretion have been studied in rats at preovulatory periods (18th hour of diestrus). It has been found that administration of ethanol in preovulatory periods decreased the number of ovules per rat (p less than 0.001), the number of ovulating rats and LH levels (p less than 0.001). These effects were accompanied by an increase in prolactin concentration (0.05 greater than p greater than 0.02), which was followed by a diffuse luteinization in the ovarian tissue. These results showed that ethanol had an effect of central depression in preovulatory periods. These effects could be mediated through the hypothalamic releasing factors. Under previous serotonin depletion with p-chlorophenylalanine (PCPA: 300 mg/kg), ethanol caused similar effects on LH and FSH levels as compared with the control group with PCPA. However, prolactin concentration was not increased. These results showed that serotoninergic neurons could be mediated in changes caused by ethanol on prolactin secretion, but do not affect directly in changes caused on LH and FSH secretion.  相似文献

Testicular tissue freezing has been proposed for fertility preservation in pre-pubertal boys. Thawed frozen testicular tissue must undergo a maturation process to restore sperm production. The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the ability of retinol to improve the in vitro differentiation of pre-pubertal mouse spermatogonial stem cells into sperm. Testes from pre-pubertal mice, aged 2.5 and 6.5 days post-partum, were cultured on agarose gel at a gas-liquid interphase for 34, 38 and 60 days (D) and for 16, 30 and 36 D respectively. Assessment of basal medium (BM) supplemented with retinol (RE) alone, FSH/LH alone or a combination of both, was performed. Stereological analyses and tissue lesion scoring were performed at the culture time points indicated above. Sperm production was quantified at D30 and D34 after mechanical dissection of the testicular tissues. FSH/LH significantly increased the percentage of round spermatids at D30 and D38, when compared to BM alone. However, RE significantly increased the percentages of round but also elongated spermatids at D30 and D34. Moreover, RE significantly increased the number of spermatozoa per milligram of tissue at D30 and D34 when compared to BM. Therefore, RE improved the in vitro production of spermatids and spermatozoa from pre-pubertal SSCs during the first wave of spermatogenesis. The use of RE could be a useful tool for in vitro spermatogenesis from pre-pubertal human testicular tissue.  相似文献

FSH in vitro, but not LH, increased the O2 uptake of isolated granulosa cells from 23 day old rats previously treated with DES or with DES and FSH. Dose response studies showed that the cells were most sensitive to FSH when the cellular binding of FSH was highest. LH increased the O2 uptake of granulosa cells of untreated 30 day old rats. DES treatment inhibited the LH induced rise in O2 uptake when the rats were implanted with DES capsules unless FSH was injected to induce LH receptors. Addition of dbcAMP in vitro increased O2 uptake of granulosa cells from 30 day old rats at concentrations 10X lower than those required to stimulate O2 uptake in cells from 23 day old rats treated with DES alone.FSH in vitro increased lactate formation in the absence of added substrates but did not do so when glucose was added to the media. In contrast, LH greatly increased lactate formation with added glucose. Dose response studies showed that less than 0.6 ug/ml LH S21 was effective in increasing lactate above control levels. These data suggest that FSH affects aerobic pathways while LH affects anaerobic pathways in the process of the differentiation of granulosa cells toward luteal cells. It is well known that FSH and LH interact with their target cells in the ovary by binding to specific receptors and that FSH stimulates LH-receptor production (1). Receptor binding by either hormone activates adenylate cyclase (2) raising cyclic adenosine monosphosphate (cAMP) levels (3) and increasing protein kinase activity (4). Such changes probably trigger changes in the major metabolic pathways that support follicular development because cells of corpora lutea have glycogen (5) which is not present in follicular granulosa cells (6–9). Several studies suggest that FSH and LH may regulate metabolic processes in the ovary. LH increases lactate in whole prepuberal ovaries (10,11,12) and also increases the uptake of glucose (13). FSH increases oxygen uptake in chick ovaries (14), rat ovaries (15) and prairie dog ovaries (16). However, only one study has been done using isolated ovarian cells. Hamberger (17) has reported that FSH increased the oxygen uptake of thecal cells of immature rats while LH increased the oxygen uptake of granulosa cells. Since granulosa cells from immature rats are reported to have FSH receptors while theca cells have LH receptors the effects of these hormones appear unclear. The present studies were undertaken to more accurately characterize the actions of FSH, LH, and dibutyryl cAMP (dbcAMP) on the oxygen uptake of isolated granulosa cells and remaining tissues of immature ovaries and to determine the effects of FSH and LH on the production of lactate by granulosa cells.  相似文献

Subcutaneous self-administration of synthetic gonadotrophin-releasing hormone 500 μg eight-hourly for up to one year by 12 male patients (five prepubertal) with clinical hypogonadism due to hypothalamic or pituitary disease resulted in the synthesis and continued release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). There was a rise in circulating androgen levels in all patients. Improvements in pubertal ratings were seen in some prepubertal patients. Potency returned in the adults and spermatogenesis was induced and maintained in the four patients who had received treatment for more than four months, total counts reaching between 7·8 and 432 × 106 spermatozoa. A fall in the FSH response to the releasing hormone occurred during spermatogenesis though LH was little affected. During the initial weeks of therapy FSH secretion usually occurred before that of LH though LH secretion was greater as treatment continued. FSH secretion also persisted for longer when treatment was stopped.  相似文献

In mammals spaceflight influences spermatogenesis since spermatogonial germ cell proliferation, compared to synchronous controls, is lightly decreased in irradiated or flown rats. Moreover, changes of the plasmatic testosterone production was described either in flight rats, or in rats maintained in simulated microgravity conditions. The hormonal levels of the astronauts change as it has been previously described, including hormones involved in the regulation of spermatogenesis such as testosterone and luteinizing hormone (LH). In microgravity conditions, human testosterone levels decreased whereas circulating LH levels increased. To study the effect of simulated microgravity on mammalian spermatogenesis we have utilized the Rotary Cell Culture System (RCCS) and we have cultured testicular fragments isolated from prepuberal rats in a chemically defined medium for three days under microgravity conditions. As control we have cultured the same amount of fragments at unit gravity. The morphology of the samples has been studied and the number of proliferating cells has been counted in control samples and in samples maintained in RCCS. The results indicate that the number of duplicating cells in the tubules was significantly increased in the microgravity-cultured fragments. The amount of testosterone secreted in the culture medium has been also evaluated and in RCCS samples the amount of the hormone was higher respect to the control samples.  相似文献

The morphological characteristics and percentage of the cellular associations between gonadotrophs (LH- and FSH-secreting cells) and other cellular types were studied in pituitary pars distalis of adult male viscachas (Lagostomus maximus maximus) by double immunohistochemistry using specific antibodies to LH, FSH, PRL, GH, ACTH, TSH and S-100 protein (by folliculostellate cells; FSC), during long and short photoperiods. Bihormonal gonadotrophs were observed in ventro-medial and dorsal regions, interspersed between monohormonal gonadotrophs, and their number increased in short photoperiod. LH- and FSH-gonadotrophs were found around lactotrophs, enclosed by somatotrophs in the dorsal region, and associated with irregular corticotrophs. Gonadotrophs and thyrotrophs were associated along blood vessels and follicular structures. The cytoplasmic prolongations of FSC were in contact with both gonadotrophs. The percentage of LH–FSH, LH–ACTH, LH–FSC, FSH–LH, FSH–PRL, FSH–GH, FSH–ACTH, FSH–TSH and FSH–FSC associations decreased, whereas LH–PRL increased in short as compared to long photoperiod. The most abundant associations were LH–GH and LH–TSH during long photoperiod, but LH–GH and LH–PRL during short photoperiod. FSH–GH and FSH–PRL were the most numerous associations, and LH–FSC and FSH–FSC were the less abundant ones in both photoperiods. These results provide the morphological evidence for specific cellular associations between gonadotrophs and other cellular types of viscacha pituitary.  相似文献

The effect of p-chlorophenylalanine (PCPA: 300 mg/kg) on the rate of ovulation and plasma LH, FSH and prolactin secretion has been studied in rats at preovulatory periods (18th hour of diestrus) and post-ovulatory periods (9th hour of metaestrus). In both experimental groups, results showed that administration of PCPA caused an increase in both prolactin concentration and number of mature ovarian follicles (p less than 0.001). No changes were observed in FSH levels. LH concentration, however, decreased (p less than 0.001) and ovulation became totally inhibited. Rats treated at the 9th hour of metaestrus exhibited a marked luteinization as well as an increased number of corpus luteum in the ovaric tissue (p less than 0.001), whereas those treated at the 18th hour of diestrus underwent no luteinization and merely showed a greater number of mature ovarian follicles (p less than 0.001). PCPA, therefore, seems not to have a double effect on ovulation, LH, FSH, and prolactin secretion regardless of the pre or post-ovulatory periods. Changes observed in the ovaric tissue might be due to an increase in plasma prolactin concentration which appears earlier in the preovulatory than in the post-ovulatory treated animals. This difference may explain the double effect that has been attributed to the ovaric cycle and reproductive behavior.  相似文献

Summary Three 46,XY phenotypically male, azoospermic brothers out of thirteen sibs from a consanguineous marriage were studied and found to have a unique pattern of testicular histology with arrest of spermatogenesis at the pachytene stage of primary spermatocytes. Endocrinological evaluation showed elevated plasma luteinizing (LH) and normal to elevated follicle-stimulating (FSH) hormones, positive gonadotropin pituitary response to luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone, depletion of LH and FSH levels by exogenous testosterone (T) administration, normal levels of T and dihydrotestosterone hormones, and elevation of T after stimulation with human chorionic gonadotropin hormone. Electrophoretic assay of lactic dehydrogenase isozymes did not reveal band C4 in semen or testicular tissue. These traits seem to constitute a hitherto undescribed form of infertility in which spermatogenesis arrest at the first spermatocyte level is the main feature. The parental consanguinity suggests autosomal recessive inheritance.  相似文献

Radioimmunoassay presented a method of measuring plasma levels of FSH,LH and prolactin in pseudopregnant rats. Plasma prolactin levels doubled 15 minutes following cervical probing (p .01) on the day of estrus. Plasma LH levels were not significantly elevated. Due to the use of ether anesthesia at blood collecting 3 hr before and 15 minutes after stimulation, only 1 of 16 rats developed pseudopregnancy. On Day 4 of pseudopregnancy in rats mated with vasectomized males; plasma LH was lower (p .05) than in normal rats on the first day of diestrus, perhaps due to the suppressive action of ovarian progesterone and some estrogen. FSH was higher than in normal rats (p .05) perhaps due to the lesser sensitivity of FSH to the inhibitory effect of progesterone. Large decidoumata developed by Day 9 in uterine horns traumatized on Day 4 (153 plus or minus 8 mg uterus weight compared to 1510 plus or minus 204 mg). Thus, the corpora remain functional after LH and prolactin are at normal and subnormal levels. On Day 9 plasma prolactin was lower than at Day 1 of diestrus (p .001). Plasma FSH was elevated (p .01). Plasma LH was unchanged. The degree of rise of LH levels 5 days following ovariectomy on Day 4 of psuedopregnancy or on the first day of diestrus was greater in the former group (p .02), perhaps due to rebound of LH from suppression by ovarian steroids. FSH rose equally in both groups. Prolactin remain about the same. Increased prolactin release by the adenohypophysis was briefer than expected.  相似文献
