Cuphea luteola is described from cerrado vegetation in Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, eastern Bolivia. It is assigned to sectionEuandra subsectionOidemation and is distinguished by yellow flowers, linear uninerved leaves, and the inner surface of the floral tube pilose and without vesicles. The recently recognized western North American sectionsBrewerianae, Mexicanae, andSitchenses in the genusSalix were studied in the field and herbarium. SectionsSitchenses andBrewerianae are here combined and placed under sectionViminella as a subsection. Three species and an additional variety are recognized in subsectionSitchenses and seven species are recognized in sectionMexicanae. Plant morphology and metaphase I chromosome association of six hybrids betweenC. canephora (subsectionErythrocoffea of sectionEucoffea) andC. liberica (subsectionParacoffea of sectionEucoffea) are described. Between plants, variation in the expression of parental characters was observed and attributed to heterozygosity especially in the liberica parent. Bivalent frequency was high, but comparable to that of earlier reports. Trivalents and quadrivalents, indicating structural hybridity, were observed here for the first time in such hybrids. In spite of their classification in different subsections and apparent hybridization barrier, the two species have considerable chromosomal homology.  相似文献

Two new species ofMarasmiellus are described from eastern Honshu, Japan:Marasmiellus atrostipitatus sp. nov. (sectionRameales subsectionOpacini) is characterized by a white pileus and a blackish stipe covered with white pruinose to flocculos scales.Marasmiellus brunneocarpus sp. nov. Nassauvia coronipappa Arroyo & Marticorena, from Cerro Donoso in eastern Chilean Patagonia, is described and illustrated. It is distinguished by trifid inner involucral bracts and persistent, brief, laciniate-dentate, crown-like pappus incompletely surrounding summit of the achene. The distinctive pappus may be related to selection, in harsh alpine habitats, against dispersal away from nurse sites.Nassauvia coronipappa belongs to subgenusNassauvia. It is seen as a relict member of an independent line of evolution, whose closest affinities are with sectionNassauvia of that subgenus.  相似文献

Light and scanning microscopies were used to evaluate the sectional boundary of 17 species included by various authors inEuphorbia sectTithymalopsis. Based on seed shape, surface ornamentation, and mucilage formation, five seed morphological types were recognized in North American sectionTithymalopsis and related species. These results did not provide added support for recent treatment of the sectTithymalopsis s.s. However, a close relationship was suggested among species of theTithymalopsis subsectionCorollatae. In addition, including species from subsectionsInnocuae, Ipecacuanhae, andSphaerorhizae within sectTithymalopsis could not be justified, based on seed morphological data.  相似文献

In view of their awnless stamens and pseudo-10-loculed berries borne on short racemes several NE Asian species ofVaccinium (includingV. hirtum, V. smallii, V. versicolor, andV. yakushimense) were transferred toVaccinium sectionCyanococcus by Sleumer (1941). Subsequently, however, Stevens (1969) and Vander Kloet (1972, 1981) argued on the basis of further study that these taxa should be transferred instead to sectionHemimyrtillus. Phenetic analyses of data from representatives of sectionsCyanococcus andHemimyrtillus, including NE Asian taxa transferred by Sleumer, demonstrate the distinctness of the two sections and support the assignment of the NE Asian taxa to sectionHemimyrtillus. Protium sectionPepeanthos, a neotropical group of nine species ranging from Costa Rica to the southern perimeter of Amazonia, is described, as are the group's five new species:P. calendulinum, P. gallosum, P. pecuniosum, P. retusum, andP. urophyllidium. Keys are provided to flowering and to fruiting material. As part of our ongoing phylogenetic study of genusHypericum, nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer sequences were analyzed for 36 species ofHypericum as ingroup and two species ofThornea as outgroup. This sampling included most of the previously described species from both Korea and Japan. The ITS phylogeny suggested that the surveyedHypericum species belong to a monophyletic section,Trigynobrathys, and a polyphyletic section,Hypericum. In addition, two monotypic sections,Sampsonia andRoscyna, were identified. Members of sectionHypericum occur in four different lineages worldwide, which imply at least four independent origins. The Korean and Japanese species of sectionHypericum form a monophyletic group, except forH. vulcanicum. Instead, that particular species belongs to a distinct monophyletic group withH. scoreri andH. formosa from other geographic areas, and is a sister to sectionTrigynobrathys. The Korean and Japanese species of sectionTrigynobrathys show a monophyletic origin.H. sampsonii is now recognized as a distinct section rather than being a member of sectionsHypericum orDrosocarpium, as had been indicated previously. Our results differ somewhat from those of recent morphological and cytological studies. The phylogenetic relationships among Korean and Japanese species have now been mostly resolved via ITS phylogeny.  相似文献

Viola stoloniflora Yokota et Higa (Violaceae) is newly described from Okinawa Island, the Ryukyus. This species is characterized by the procumbent stolons, the almost round leaf blades, the densely pilose petioles, the ebarbate white petals with violet veins, and the chromosome number of 2n=22. The present species belongs to Sect.Nomimium, Subsect.Serpentes and is closely related to theV. iwagawai group of Sect.Nomimium, Subsect.Adnatae.  相似文献
