Allelic polymorphisms at five Y-chromosomal microsatellite loci (DYS19, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392, and DYS393) were typed in 87 individuals from male population samples from two geographically isolated regions (Arkhangelsk oblast and Kursk oblast) of the European part of Russia. The populations examined demonstrated substantial differences in the distribution of the DYS392 (P = 0.005) and DYS393 (P = 0.003) alleles. Estimates of genetic relationships between these populations and some other European populations (including Eastern-Slavic) showed that irrespectively of the measure of genetic distance chosen, Arkhangelsk population was closer to the populations belonging to the Finno-Ugric linguistic group (Saami and Estonians) and to the Estonian geographical neighbors, Latvians, while Kursk population was the member of a cluster formed by Eastern-Slavic populations (Russians of Novgorod oblast, Ukrainians, and Belarussians). Phylogenetic analysis of the most frequent haplotypes indicated that these differences between Kursk and Arkhangelsk populations were associated with high prevalence in the latter of major haplotypes characteristic primarily of the Finno-Ugric populations.  相似文献

Marriage records from parish books of the second half of the 19th century and marriage records of 1967-1970 and 1993-1995 obtained from registry offices were used to analyze the dynamics of genetically significant parameters of migration and marriage structure with respect to spouses' birthplaces in populations of different hierarchical levels in the Kursk oblast. It was found that, among the persons contracting marriage (both males and females), the proportions of those who were born in the same population and those who were born in any population of the Kursk oblast decreased by about one third and one fifth, respectively, for the 130-year period. In rural and small urban populations, the coefficients of marriage migration in the 19th century were an order of magnitude lower than in the 20th century. The immigration to urban populations was maximum in the late 1960s (m = 0.745 in small towns and m = 0.680 in Kursk), and that to rural populations, in the 1990s (m = 0.344). In both urban and rural populations, the mean distance between the spouses' birthplaces has increased by several times for the period studied. The endogamy level has decreased approximately twofold: from 0.797 to 0.380 in Kursk, from 0.897 to 0.419 in small towns, and from 0.958 to 0.440 in rural districts. The marriage assortativeness with respect to birthplace was maximum in the late 19th century (K = 0.393-0.491) and minimum in the 1960s (K = 0.155-0.246). The increase in genetic diversity of the urban population of the Kursk oblast due to migration has been slowing down since the late 20th century, whereas the outbreeding level is still increasing in rural populations.  相似文献

The model of the Belgorod oblast population has been used to demonstrate different effects of administrative reforms on microevolution in human populations. For the populations that formerly belonged to Kursk oblast, changes in the regional administrative structure (after which some of them remained in Kursk oblast and others were included into Belgorod oblast) have lead to an increase in the genetic distances between them. However, other populations (formerly belonging to Voronezh oblast) have become genetically closer to one another, although these populations now belong to different administrative regions (Belgorod and Voronezh oblasts).  相似文献

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) polymorphism was examined in two Russian populations of Novgorod oblast, from the city of Velikii Novgorod (n = 81), and the settlement of Volot (n = 79). This analysis showed that the mitochondrial gene pool of Russians examined was represented by the mtDNA types belonging to 20 haplogroups and subhaplogroups distributed predominantly among the European populations. Haplogroups typical of the indigenous populations of Asia were found in the population sample from Velikii Novgorod with the average frequency of 3.7% (haplogroups A, Z, and D5), and with the frequency of 6.3% (haplogroups Z, D, and M*) in the Volot population. It was demonstrated that the frequency of the mitochondrial lineages combination, D5, Z, U5b-16144, and U8, typical of the Finnish-speaking populations of Northeastern Europe, was somewhat higher in the urban population (7.4%) compared to rural one (3.8%). Based on the characteristics of body height and weight in 4905 newborns, the population-genetic structure of the rural raions (districts) of Kursk oblast (region) and in the city of Kursk was determined. An "adaptive norm area" with respect to body weight and height was distinguished for newborns in Kursk oblast. On the average, the anthropometric parameters of 20% of infants from the studied populations fell within this area. The height and growth of newborns exhibited a pronounced geographic variation and depended on the level of urbanization, as well as the sex and the health status of the newborns. In district populations, the body height and the variances of the body height and weight increased with an increase in endogamy. Therefore, the relative numbers of newborns with large values of both weight and height, as well as those with a medium body height and a small body weight, were increased. Conversely, the relative numbers of newborns with a low weight and height and with a disturbed weight-height correlation were decreased.  相似文献

Polymorphism of three populations of the Buryat Republic and a population from Aginskii Buryat Autonomous okrug of Chita oblast was examined using a set of five autosomal Alu insertions at the ACE, PLAT, PV92, APOA1, and F13B loci. The allele frequency distribution patterns revealed in Buryat populations were typical to other Asian populations. Buryats were characterized by relatively low level of intrapopulation diversity (0.369 in the pooled population sample). Analysis of autosomal Alu insertions suggests the uniformity of the Buryat gene pool. The coefficient of genetic differentiation in the four populations studied was 0.8%.  相似文献

The variability of 21 allozyme and three microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) was studied in the populations of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) from Irkutsk oblast, Magadan oblast, Buryatia, and Mongolia. It was demonstrated that the highest level of genetic diversity among the examined populations at both allozyme and microsatellite loci was observed in the Tulyushka population from Irkutsk oblast. The lowest level of genetic diversity was observed in marginal isolated populations of Bogd Uul and Magadan. In the relict spruce population from Olkhon Island, differing from the other populations in the lowest allelic diversity of both types of markers, no expected decline of expected heterozygosity and haplotype diversity was observed. In this population, the variability parameters mentioned were close to the population mean. The obtained intrapopulation and intraspecific variability parameters of allozyme and microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA and the data on the population differentiation at these loci indicate that the given markers can be used for the analysis of the population structure of Siberian spruce.  相似文献

The first population genetic study of hereditary disorders of the nervous system (HDNS) in Vladimir oblast was carried out. A total of 1,622,900 subjects, including 1,306,200 from the urban and 316,700 from the rural population, were tested. The population examined was characterized by virtually homogenous ethnic structure, with Russians constituting 95.76%. Pooled prevalence of HDNS in Vladimir oblast corresponded to the average prevalence for other Russian populations. Substantial differences between urban and rural populations in respect of the population load of HDNS and its nosological structure were not observed. A total of 22 nosological forms of HDNS were revealed, including thirteen autosomal dominant (193 families with 272 affected individuals), seven autosomal recessive (59 families with 66 affected individuals), and two X-linked (15 families with 17 affected individuals) diseases. The composition of the HDNS spectrum "nucleus" in Vladimir oblast displayed a number of differences from that in the majority of other populations examined. The HDNS in different regions of the area tested were characterized by different prevalence and spectrum. The data obtained may constitute a basis for regional registration of HDNS in Vladimir oblast.  相似文献

To specify the taxonomic rank of form ciscaucasoides (independent species Sylvaemus ciscaucasoides, or intraspecific form of pygmy wood mouse, S. uralensis), a 402-bp the mtDNA cytochrome b gene fragment (402 bp) was examined in S. ciscaucasoides individuals from six geographic localities of the Caucasus and Ciscaucasus, (Krasnodar krai and Adygeya Republic) and 17 S. uralensis individuals from seven localities of the Russian Plai (Saratov oblast, Smolensk oblast, Voronezh oblast, Tula oblast, Moscow oblast, and Tver' oblast). For comparison, the cytochrome b gene was partly sequenced in the samples of yellow necked, S. flavicollis (n = 2, Samara oblast), and Caucasian, S. ponticus (n = 6, Krasnodar krai), wood mice. One Mus musculus specimen from Western Europe, whose nucleotide sequences were deposed in the GenBank, was used as intergeneric outgroup. Phylogenetic trees for the forms examined were constructed based on the mtDNA sequence variation and using the neighbor joining and maximum parsimony methods. The network of the cytochrome b haplotypes was also constructed. The level of genetic divergence was evaluated using Kimura's two-parameter algorithm. Based on the data on the sequence variation in a 402-bp mtDNA cytochrome b gene fragment, the hypothesis on the species status of the ciscaucasicus form was. The mean intergroup distances (d) between the geographic groups of S. uralensis varied from 0.0036 to 0.0152. At the same time, the distances between the pygmy wood mice and the group of S.flavicollis-S. ponticus varies in the range from 0.0860 to 0.0935, and the level of intergeneric genetic differentiation (Sylvaemus-Mus) is higher than the latter index (d = 0.142). Ciscaucasoides should be considered as geographic substitution form of S. uralensis. Furthermore, the Caucasian populations of S. uralensis (= ciscaucasoides) were characterized by a threefold lower value of intergroup genetic divergence (d = 0.0062) than the East European populations (d= 0.0179). This finding pointed to some isolation of Caucasian populations of pygmy wood mouse and depletion of their gene pool. However other molecular genetic data (similarity of nucleotide composition and consistence of the levels of intra- and intergroup distances) suggest the absence of geographic subdivision between Caucasian and East European populations ofS. uralensis relative to the molecular marker examined.  相似文献

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) polymorphism was examined in three Russian populations from the European part of Russia (Stavropol krai, Orel oblast, and Saratov oblast). This analysis showed that mitochondrial gene pool of Russians was represented by the mtDNA types belonging to haplogroups H, V, HV*, J, T, U, K, I, W, and X. A mongoloid admixture (1.5%) was revealed in the form of mtDNA types of macrohaplogroup M. Comparative analysis of the mtDNA haplogroup frequency distribution patterns in six Russian populations from the European part of Russia indicated the absence of substantial genetic differences between them. However, in Russian populations from the southern and central regions the frequency of haplogroup V (average frequency 8%) was higher than in the populations from more northern regions. Based on the data on mtDNA HVS1 sequence variation, it was shown that the diversity of haplogroup V in Russians (h= 0.742) corresponded to the highest h values observed in Europe. The reasons for genetic differentiation of the Russian population (historical, ecological, and adaptive) are discussed.  相似文献

Polymorphic Alu-repeat loci of human genome are commonly used as effective genetic markers in population and evolution studies. In this work, the data on genetic structure of two Russian populations from Siberia obtained via analysis of five polymorphic Alu repeats are presented. The urban population was characterized by a slightly higher level of genetic diversity compared to the rural population. The value of genetic differentiation coefficient for the populations studied was 0.57%, pointing to the absence of genetic subdivision within the urban and rural populations. Phylogenetic analysis of these populations, together with literature data, shows that, with respect to the markers examined, the gene pool structure of Russian population is similar to that of other Caucasoid populations.  相似文献

Polymorphism of three rural populations of the Tuva Republic was examined using a set of five autosomal Alu insertions at the ACE, PLAT, PV92, APOA1, and F13B loci. The allele frequency distribution patterns revealed in Tuvinians were typical to Mongoloid populations of Asia and were characterized by relatively high frequency of the Alu-repeat insertion at the PV92 and F13B loci along with relatively low insertion frequency at the APOA1 locus. With respect to the test systems used, Tuvinian populations examined displayed high levels of genetic diversity. The mean expected heterozygosity values in the populations of Kugurtug, Toora-Khem, and Teeli were 0.433, 0.407, and 0.437, respectively. The level of genetic diversity in the pooled Tuvinian sample was 0.432. The coefficient of genetic differentiation in the three populations studied was 1.45 pointing to relatively low level of genetic subdivision of the indigenous Tuvinian populations. However, estimates of genetic differentiation of the Tuvinian gene pool made by use of the Alu-repeat system were higher compared to those performed using classical protein systems, mtDNA, or Y-chromosomal haplotypes. Even though Tuvinian populations were characterized by common gene pool, some features specific to Western Tuvinian population could be distinguished. These features could be associated with higher contribution of the Caucasian component to the gene pool of this population. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated close genetic relationships between the Tuvinian and Altaic ethnic populations.  相似文献

The mean distance between birthplaces of spouses (σ, σ′), the proportion of medium migrations (k), and the effective migration pressure (M e) have considerably increased, and the linear systematic pressure coefficient (b) has decreased in the human population of the Central Chernozem region during the past 50 years. However, the local inbreeding level (a), which is determined by both an increase in the migration intensity and a decrease in the effective population size (N e), has remained practically unchanged. A change in the regional administrative structure has affected the genetic structure of populations. In the 1950s, raions (administrative districts) of Kursk and Voronezh oblasts (regions) were similar with respect differentiation parameters, whereas the oblasts considerably differed from each other. At present, some Malecot’s isolation-by-distance parameters for the populations of the districts that were included to Belgorod oblast in 1954 are lower and similar to those for the districts that remain in Kursk and Voronezh oblasts.  相似文献

The aims of this study were (i) to determine the genetic variability of the striped field mouse (Apodemus agrarius Pallas, 1771) population in the area of the Warsaw conurbation and the genetic differentiation among local populations of this species within the city, and (ii) to examine the influence of the degree of isolation on the appearance of such genetic structure. Comparison of the genetic structure of the urban population with that of populations inhabiting rural areas was intended to shed light on the depth of genetic changes in this species caused by life in an urban environment. Eight microsatellite loci were used for genotyping and these molecular analyses were successfully performed for 269 individuals. Genetic differentiation (FST) was much higher in the case of the urban population. STRUCTURE analysis indicated that this population was subdivided into several local populations, whereas for the rural locations, the highest likelihood was for a single genetic group (one genetically unstructured population). Moreover, in contrast to the rural population, we found no isolation by distance in the urban population. Despite clear subdivision of the urban population, the level of genetic variability was very similar in both analyzed groups. Our findings indicate the occurrence of an advanced process of differentiation of the urban population by microevolution, whereas populations from rural locations displayed very small and mainly insignificant genetic differentiation. Urban local populations, situated near the city borders or close to the natural ecological corridor (banks of the Vistula River), showed higher genetic variability and were less differentiated from populations inhabiting rural sites than from local populations in the city centre. These results provide support for the importance of ecological corridors in preserving the genetic variability of the urban striped field mouse population.  相似文献
