Wrinkling aphid of pistachio leaf, Forda hirsuta Mordv. (Hem.:Pemphigidae) is one of the pests of pistachio trees. This aphid caused the shrinkage, thickening, and changing the color of the pistachio leaves. Since insect feeds from leave edges, the thick and rolled upward wrinkles were formed, which its green color turned into red. Therefore, its economical damages are out of direct feeding from plant extraction, twisting pistachio leaves, and the decrease of photosynthesis. In this research two orchards and 10 trees that each of them were selected in Rafsanjan region and 58 fundatrix galls, 120 nymphal galls were marked and the demographic parameters for apterus parthenogenesis female of this aphid were calculated via daily observations. The results indicated that intrinsic rates of increase (r) for 1, 2 and 3 generations were 0.01, 0.0638 and 0.0575 femal/femal/days respectively, Doubling time (DT) were 69.31, 10.52 and 12.04 days, respectively, net fecundity rates were 1.71, 11.5 and 7.37 femal/femal/days, respectively, Net fertility rates were 1.11, 8.87 and 5.01 days, respectively, and mean generation times (Tc) were calculated to be 31.5, 32.2 and 31.87 days, respectively. Other reproductive parameters such as gross hatch rate, gross fecundity rate, gross fertility rate, mean age gross fecundity and fertility, mean age net fecundity and fertility, mean age hatch, finite rate of increase (lambda), intrinsic birth rate (b) intrinsic death rate (d) and daily reproductive rate were also calculated. The results revealed that population parameters especially r in the first and second generations were lowest and highest, respectively and mean longevity of fundatrix was 30 days and the born nymphs made separate galls in the edge of pistachio leaves.  相似文献

Variation in the reproductive mode of melon aphid Aphis gossypii Glover occurred on the large geographic scale, but the performance of different reproductive modes to use host plant is poorly understood. Life tables of melon aphid population that undergo the anholocyclic, androcyclic, and intermediate reproductive mode were conducted on different host plants. The results showed that the anholocyclic and androcyclic strains could become adults and produce offspring on cotton Gossypium hirsutum L., whereas the intermediate strain could not. The survival rate, net reproductive rate (R(0)), and intrinsic rate of natural increase (r(m)) of the androcyclic strain on cotton were significantly greater than that of the anholocyclic strain. The three strains could aptly use cucurbits host plants including cucumber Cucumis sativa L., pumpkin Cucurbita moschata (Duchesne ex Lam.), and zucchini Cucurbita pepo L.; survival rate and R(0) were not significantly different on these two host plants. Moreover, the r(m) of the anholocyclic strain on cucumber and the androcyclic strain on pumpkin and zucchini were significantly greater than that of the other two strains. The abilities of the three strains to use a host plant were flexible, because their r(m) on pumpkin or zucchini became equal after rearing for four successive generations; furthermore, the intermediate strain attained the ability to use cotton, and the performance of anholocyclic and intermediate strains to use cotton also significantly increased after feeding on pumpkin or zucchini for one or three generations. It was concluded that the reproductive mode and feeding experience affected the performance of melon aphid to use a host plant.  相似文献

设置0,30,60,120和240mg/L5种钾肥浓度处理黄瓜植株,测定不同处理黄瓜叶片的含钾量及相应处理上烟粉虱Bemisiatabaci(Gennadius)种群的生命表参数。结果表明,黄瓜叶片含钾量不随钾肥施用量增加而增大,30mg/L钾肥溶液处理的黄瓜叶片含钾量最高。在上述5种钾浓度处理黄瓜植株上,烟粉虱种群的内禀增长率rm分别为0.14,0.17,0.17,0.15和0.13,净增殖率R0依次为47.79,111.55,115.18,61.96和49.58。因此,黄瓜叶片中含钾量高有利于烟粉虱的种群增长。讨论研究结果对生产上烟粉虱种群调控的意义。  相似文献

在28℃下用叶盘法研究了5种寄主植物对截形叶螨生长发育及繁殖的影响。结果表明,在不同寄主植物上,截形叶螨各螨态历期、单雌产卵量、日均产卵量、产卵期、净增殖率、周限增长率、内禀增长率、世代平均周期和种群加倍时间等均有明显差异; 雌螨完成一代所需时间长短依次为9.3天(黄瓜)、9.3天(菜豆)、9.6天(大豆)、11.0天(茄子)和11.6天(玉米),产卵期依次为9.9天(茄子)、11.2天(黄瓜)、12.9天(菜豆)、15.8天(玉米)和17.9天(大豆);单雌产卵量和净增殖率在大豆上最高,分别为115.0和51.7,而在茄子上最低,分别为38.0和11.7。幼、若螨期存活率大小依次为93.6%(大豆)、91.7%(玉米)、89.9%(黄瓜)、84.3%(菜豆)和61.6%(茄子),存活曲线均为Ⅰ型。大豆是其最嗜食寄主植物,其次是玉米,再次为黄瓜和菜豆,对茄子的嗜食性最差。  相似文献

Life table, reproduction, and population growth parameters of the beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), were determined on nine soybean (Glycine max L.) cultivars ('032', '033', 'Hill', 'M4', 'M7', 'M9', 'M11', 'TMS', and 'Zane') at 25°C. The age-specific survival rate of eggs and immature stages was higher on 033 in comparison with other cultivars. The gross fecundity rate ranged from 911 on M9 to 1,296 on Zane, but the differences were not statistically significant. The net fecundity rate was significantly higher on 033 (1,082 eggs per female) than on other cultivars. The gross fertility rate significantly differed on tested cultivars, and was the highest on Zane (1,257 eggs per female) and lowest on Hill (813 eggs per female). The net fertility rate varied from 532 on M11 to 1,082 eggs per female on 033. Both daily number of eggs and daily number of fertile eggs laid per female varied significantly among the different cultivars, and were the highest on TMS (90 for both parameter) and lowest on M7 (47 and 43), respectively. The values of net reproductive rate, intrinsic rate of increase, and finite rate of increase were significantly higher on 033. The shortest generation time (23 d), shortest doubling time (1.66 d), and highest percentage of female offspring (56%) also were obtained on 033. According to population growth parameters, 033 and Hill partially were susceptible and resistant, respectively, to S. exigua. The results of this study provide direction to design a more comprehensive integrated pest management program for this pest.  相似文献

本文分别以当年产种子数量和一年生幼苗数量为基础,编制了裂叶沙参种群(总和)和海拔2300-2400m, 2700-2900m, 2900-3100m, 3100-3400m 4个不同海拔区域种群的生殖力表,分析了不同种群两种生殖表的种群内禀增长率(rm),周限增殖率(λ),净增长率(R0),毛增长率(G)等动态参数与种群动态的关系;比较了两种生殖力表的特点和利弊;讨论了裂叶沙参种群生殖生态学特性和种群发展趋势及其与环境因素的关系。以种子数量为基础编制的生殖力表的各种群动态参数表明,裂叶沙参具有较强的产生种子的能力,特别是在生境条件较好的海拔2700-3100m区域,种群个体结实量可达到很高的水平。以一年生幼苗数量为基础编制的生殖力表表明,裂叶沙参种群从整体上呈衰退趋势。但不同种群间存在差异:在海拔2300-2400m,水份条件较好的特殊生境和海拔2900-3100m的种群呈稳定特征;而海拔2700-2900m,3100-3400m的种群呈缓慢衰退特征。以种子数量为基础编制的生殖力表可以反映裂叶沙参种群产生种子的能力和生殖生态学特征;而以一年生幼苗数量为基础编制的生殖力表包含了种子库的生态学过程,能较好的反映种群动态特征。在实践中,两种生殖力表应配合使用,才能全面刻划种群生殖生态学和种群动态特征。  相似文献

The effect of two host plant species including eight genotypes of melon (Cucumis melo L.) and four genotypes of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) was studied on reproductive parameters: life expectancy and mortality of Tetranychus urticae (Koch) at 25?±?1?°C, 60?±?5% rh and a photoperiod of 16L:8D hours. The results indicated that the highest value of the gross fecundity rate of T. urticae was 96.72?±?16.70 (eggs/female) on Mir sultan and the lowest value was 14.33?±?0.88 on Ananasi. The maximum value of gross fertility rate (41.55?±?4.79) was recorded on Sultan, while the minimum value (1.38?±?0.08) was recorded on Ananasi. The net fecundity rate was varied from 0.47?±?0.09 on Ananasi to 23.53?±?3.96 eggs/female on Sultan. The net fertility rate was 12.96?±?2.18 on Sultan and 0.04?±?0.009 on Ananasi, which was the maximum and minimum values, respectively. The range of gross hatch rate on different melon and cucumber genotypes was 9.67% on Ananasi to 72.46% on Super sultan. The cohort reared on Super sultan had the highest mean eggs per day and those on Shah abadi had the lowest mean eggs per day. In addition, the mite demonstrated the maximum value of mean fertile eggs per day with the amount of 1.66?±?0.19 eggs/female when fed on Sultan, and Ananasi demonstrated the minimum value (0.09?±?0.005). The life expectancy of one-day-old adults of T. urticae was estimated to be 16?days on Garmak Isfahan and 26.62 days on Mir sultan which is the maximum and minimum values, respectively. Furthermore, the highest mortality percentage of immature stages of T. urticae was recorded on Ananasi and the lowest was recorded on Super sultan. Comparison of the data collected in this study revealed that the mites had considerably better performance on cucumber genotypes than melon genotypes, so we can assume that cucumber is the preferable host species for T. urticae. The use of preferable and resistant host plants is helpful in crop rotation and it will be one of the beneficial strategies to integrated pest management programmes.  相似文献

Laboratory experiments were conducted using organophosphate-resistant and susceptible strains of greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood, to assess age-specific vital rates in individually-held adults, and development and survival in preadults on three cotton cultivars at 27±1 °C, 50±10% RH, and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D). Female whiteflies lived longer than males, with a maximum life expectancy of 29 days. Heaviest egg laying occurred at ages between 7 and 18 days when individual whiteflies laid > 10 eggs/day. Greenhouse whitefly populations doubled weekly, with stable age distribution of 63% eggs, 28% larvae, 5% pupae, and 4% adults. Analysis of various life history parameters that combine aspects of survival, developmental rates, and fecundity indicated no consistent differences in reproductive fitness between the two greenhouse whitefly strains. Of the three cotton cultivars tested, Pima S-6 was most susceptible, Acala SJ-2 was intermediate and Gumbo 500 was most resistant to greenhouse whitefly. Resistance of Gumbo 500 was expressed as slower developmental rates, reduced survival to adulthood, lower reproductive rates, and lower intrinsic rate of increase.  相似文献

Abstract Age‐stage, two‐sex life tables of the melon fly, Bactrocera cucurbitae (Coquillett) (Diptera: Tephritidae), reared on cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), sponge gourd (Luffa cylindrica Roem) and a carrot medium (mashed Daucus carota L. mixed with sucrose and yeast hydrolysate) were constructed under laboratory conditions at 25 ± 1°C, 65%± 0.5% relative humidity, and a photoperiod 12 : 12 h (L : D). The intrinsic rates of increase of B. cucurbitae were 0.144 6, 0.141 2 and 0.068 8 days on cucumber, sponge gourd, and carrot medium, respectively. The highest net reproduction rate was 172 offspring per fly reared on sponge gourd. The mean generation times of B. cucurbitae ranged from 34 days reared on cucumber to 56 days reared on carrot medium. The life history raw data was analyzed using the traditional female age‐specific life table and compared to results obtained using the age‐stage, two‐sex life table. When the age‐specific female life table is applied to an age‐stage‐structured two‐sex population, survival and fecundity curves will be improperly manipulated due to an inability to include variation in preadult development time. We discussed different interpretations of the relationship between the net reproductive rate and the intrinsic rate of increase to clarify possible misunderstanding in the literature.  相似文献

Sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), is a devastating pest that can cause severe damage to a range of crops by direct feeding and by plant virus transmission. Because of indiscriminate use of insecticides, this whitefly has developed resistance to several insecticides, including neonicotinoids. Our objectives were to determine fitness components affected by acetamiprid resistance in B. tabaci. Assay results showed that selection with acetamiprid had removed heterozygotes from the field population because the survival rate of the resistant population was significantly greater than that of the field population at a very high dose. Comparison of various life traits between the acetamiprid-selected (Aceta-SEL) population and three other populations showed that the numbers of eggs laid by acetamiprid Aceta-SEL population were significantly lower compared with that of other populations but that the proportions of eggs hatched were significantly higher. However, the time taken by nymphal stages of the Aceta-SEL population to develop was significantly higher than that of the susceptible populations. The intrinsic rate of increase, net reproductive rate, mean generation time, and doubling time of Aceta-SEL was significantly higher than Lab-PK and UNSEL populations, but the growth index was similar for all populations. The growth index and high intrinsic value of Aceta-SEL population suggest that the resistance allele may not have detrimental impact. The lack of fitness costs in B. tabaci could promote the rapid development of resistance to acetamiprid and other neonicotinoids. This resistance could threaten the sustainability of whitefly management program on genetically engineered cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) where neonicotinoids are being sprayed to manage sucking pests in the field.  相似文献

Abstract: The reproductive potential and longevity of Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) were determined under laboratory conditions at a constant temperature of 25°C. The data were used to calculate life-fertility tables and rates of increase. The fecundity plateau of P. nigrispinus lasted 18 days, and during this period mean fecundity was 8.89 eggs per female per day. It started at the eighth day of age and ended at the 18th day of age. The declining fecundity period started at 18 days of age and ended with the death of the females. The female of P. nigrispinus oviposited a mean of 188.54 eggs, and had a mean longevity of 31.21 days. The gross reproductive rate (GRR) was 104.374 females/female; the net reproductive rate ( R o) was 31.945 females/female; the generation time was 47.390 days; the doubling time was 9.480 days; the intrinsic rate of increase ( r m ) was 0.073, and the finite rate of increase ( λ ) was 1.076. The predator population increased by 16.61 adult progeny per female per generation in the laboratory.  相似文献

在实验室条件下[温度(26±1) ℃,相对湿度(75±1)%,光照L∶D=16∶8]研究了烟粉虱在新疆棉田主栽品种新陆早8号、新陆早16号、新陆早17号、中棉35号、抗5和岱80棉花品种上的存活率、产卵量和寿命等,组建了实验种群生命表,估测了种群净增殖率(R0)、内禀增长力(rm)、平均世代周期(T)和周限增长率(λ)等生殖力参数.结果表明:烟粉虱在不同棉花品种上的形态大小、发育历期、存活率及产卵量均存在显著差异.比较烟粉虱种群在6种棉花品种上的世代存活率和繁殖力,其在新陆早16号上发育速度最快、产卵量最高,而在抗5上各种生命参数相对较低.新陆早16号是烟粉虱种群生长发育最适宜的棉花品种,其次为中棉35号,抗5是烟粉虱种群最不适宜的品种.  相似文献

马铃薯甲虫Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say)是马铃薯Solanum tuberosum等茄科作物上的一种毁灭性害虫。为了探明寄主植物对新疆马铃薯甲虫种群生长发育的影响, 本研究通过非选择性试验测定了马铃薯、 茄子Solanum melongena和番茄Lycopersicon esculentum 3种栽培寄主及野生寄主中亚天仙子Hyoscyamus pusillus对马铃薯甲虫种群生长发育、 存活、 繁殖及生命表参数的影响。结果表明: 马铃薯甲虫幼虫虽然能够取食番茄, 但幼虫的发育历期长、 存活率低且蛹不能羽化, 表明番茄不是新疆马铃薯甲虫种群的适宜寄主。马铃薯、 茄子、 中亚天仙子3种寄主植物对该虫卵、 幼虫、 蛹的存活率和发育历期及成虫产卵前期没有显著影响, 但对蛹重和繁殖力影响显著。取食不同寄主植物后, 该虫蛹重和繁殖力从大到小的次序为: 马铃薯>茄子>中亚天仙子; 种群的净增殖率(R0)、 内禀增长率(rm)和种群趋势指数(I)从大到小依次为: 马铃薯>茄子>中亚天仙子。因此马铃薯为新疆马铃薯甲虫种群的最适宜寄主, 其次为茄子和中亚天仙子, 而番茄为不适宜寄主。  相似文献

The lesser cornstalk borer, Elasmopalpus lignosellus (Zeller) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is an important pest of sugarcane (a complex hybrid of Saccharum spp.) in southern Florida. Reproductive and life table parameters for E. lignosellus were examined at nine constant temperatures from 13 to 36 °C with sugarcane as the larval food source. The pre- and postoviposition periods decreased with increasing temperatures and reached their minimums at 33 and 36 °C, respectively. The oviposition period was longest at 27 °C. The mean fecundity, stage-specific survival, stage-specific fecundity, intrinsic rate of increase, and finite rate of increase were greatest at 30 °C and decreased with increasing or decreasing temperature. The net reproductive rate was greatest at 27 °C. The Logan-6 model best described the relationship between temperature and intrinsic rate of increase. The generation and population doubling times were longest at 13 and shortest at 33 and 30 °C, respectively. The most favorable temperatures for E. lignosellus population growth were between 27 and 33°C. Life table parameters for E. lignosellus reared on sugarcane were greater than for the Mexican rice borer [Eoreuma loftini (Dyar) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)] reared on an artificial diet at 30 °C. The intrinsic rates of increase for the sugarcane borer [Diatraea saccharalis (F.) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)] reared on sugarcane or corn were the same as for E. lignosellus reared on sugarcane at 27 °C, but the net reproductive rate was four times higher for the former than the latter borer species.  相似文献

通过室内转接试验,研究来源于越冬寄主花椒、木槿、石榴和夏寄主棉花、黄瓜共5个棉蚜Aphids gossypii Glover种群对棉花和黄瓜的适合度。结果表明:花椒棉蚜、木槿棉蚜、棉花棉蚜转接到棉花上的成虫留居率和种群繁殖率均明显地高于黄瓜;黄瓜棉蚜转接到棉花上的成虫留居率和种群繁殖率均显著地低于黄瓜;石榴棉蚜转接到棉花上的种群繁殖率显著低于黄瓜,但成虫留居率在2种寄主之间没有明显差异。  相似文献

Continuous light is a promising method to reduce the problems with rose powdery mildew in greenhouse rose production. The effects of such a light regime on the performance of insect pests on roses have so far not been investigated. In the present study, survival, developmental time, and reproduction during one generation of the greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), were characterized on roses, Rosa×hybrida cv. Passion, grown in climate chambers with long‐day conditions (L20:D4) or continuous light (L24:D0) at 21 °C and fluctuating relative humidity (mean 74%, range 47–96%). Whiteflies reared under continuous light had lower immature survival and fecundity and shorter female longevity than whiteflies reared under long‐day conditions, but immature developmental time was only slightly affected. Life‐table analysis showed that the net reproductive rate (Ro) and intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm) were reduced by 85 and 76%, respectively, and the time for the population to double its size (D) was 4.2 times longer under continuous light. This mean that the whitefly population growth under continuous light was strongly reduced compared with the traditional light regime used in rose production.  相似文献

The life history of Thrips palmi Karny on eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) leaves was studied based on the age stage and two sex-life tables at 16, 19, 22, 25, and 31?°C. The intrinsic rate of increase (r) at these temperatures was 0.0427, 0.0566, 0.0979, 0.1738, and 0.2237?day?1, respectively. The relationship among the gross reproductive rate (GRR), the net reproductive rate (R 0), and the pre-adult survivorship (l a) is consistent with R 0?<?l a?×?GRR?<?GRR for all results at different temperatures. The mean generation time was 47.52, 38.33, 29.52, 19.81, and 13.88?days, respectively. The developments of pre-adult and adult stages were faster in males than in females. The means of developmental periods for each developmental stage decreased with increases of temperature. The maximum life span of female adults was noted at 56.67?days, whereas that of males was 50.66?days at 16?°C. The maximum female fecundity (64.18?eggs/female) was recorded at 25?°C and the lowest (23.38 eggs/female) at 16?°C. Life table data could be used to project population growth, to design mass rearing programs, and to establish management tactics to control insect pests.  相似文献

The demographic characteristics of Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) reared on hybrid sweet corn (Zea mays L. variety saccharata) (hybrid super sweet corn KY bright jean) and on an artificial diet were compared by using the age-stage, two-sex life table. Because the hatch rate of eggs varies with maternal age, age-specific fecundity was calculated based on the numbers of hatched eggs to reveal the biological characteristics of H. armigera accurately. The intrinsic rate of increase (r), finite rate (λ) and mean generation time (T) of H. armigera were 0.0853 d(-1), 1.0890 d(-1), and 46.6 d, respectively, on Z. mays and 0.1015 d(-1), 1.1068 d(-1), and 46.3 d, respectively, on the artificial diet. There were significant differences in the intrinsic rate of increase and finite rate between two treatments. The age-stage life expectancy and reproductive value also were calculated. The relationships among the net reproductive rate, the mean female fecundity, the number of emerged females, and the total number of individuals used in the life table study are consistent with theoretical expectations. We recommend the age-stage, two-sex life table for use in insect demographic studies to incorporate both sexes and the variation in developmental rate among individuals and to obtain accurate population parameters. The artificial diet is more suitable for the mass rearing of H. armigera.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the biotic potential and life table of individuals of Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) from different host plants (citrus, corn, and cotton) and Brazilian states (São Paulo, Distrito Federal, and Bahia) in artificial diet, under laboratory conditions (25 ± 1°C, 70 ± 10% RH, 14 h photophase). The longevity, pre-, post- and oviposition periods, fecundity, and fertility of 15 mating pairs per origin were evaluated. We also compared the reproductive parameters of each group of insects (São Paulo (SP), Distrito Federal (DF), and Bahia (BA)), including the net reproductive rate (Ro), mean generation time (T), intrinsic rate of increase (r m), and finite rate of increase (λ). Microsatellite analysis from individuals collected in different locations and host plants did not show differences among the parental insects. It was verified that parental progeny collected in cotton fields from Bahia had a higher biotic potential, a higher reproductive rate (Ro), and a better fecundity compared to the insects from remaining regions. The life table charts indicate that the highest values for the reproductive parameters of the Bahia progeny are associated with higher specific fertility, particularly in early adulthood. The greatest biotic potential of the Bahia progeny may be due to increased selection pressure from the insecticide used (organophosphate and pyrethroid) on cotton crops compared to that of other crops, as well due to the massive adoption of Bt cotton-producing areas of that state from 2013 outbreaks.  相似文献
