The experiment was conducted to study the effects of different selenium (Se) sources on productive performance, serum and
milk Se concentrations, and antioxidant status of sows. A total of 12 sows (Landrace×Yorkshire) with same pregnancy were randomly
divided into two groups; each group was replicated six times. These two groups received the same basal gestation and lactation
diets containing 0.042 mg Se/kg, supplemented with 0.3 mg Se/kg sodium selenite or selenomethionine (i.e., seneno-dl-methylseleno), respectively. The feeding trial lasted for 60 days, with 32 and 28 days for gestation and lactation period,
respectively. Compared with sodium selenite, maternal selenomethionine intake significantly increased (P < 0.05) the weaning litter weight and average weight of piglet. The Se concentration in the serum, colostrum, and milk of
sows were significantly higher (p < 0.05) in the selenomethionine-treated group. The antioxidant status was greatly improved in sows of selenomethionine-treated
group and was illuminated by the increased total antioxidant capability (T-AOC; P < 0.05) and decreased malondialdehyde (MDA; P < 0.01) level in the serum of sows, increased T-AOC (P < 0.05), glutathione (GSH) peroxidase (P < 0.05), superoxide dismutase (P < 0.05) and GSH (P < 0.05), and MDA (P < 0.05) level in the colostrum and milk of sows. These results suggested that maternal selenomethionine intake improved Se
concentration and antioxidant status of sows, thus maintain maternal health and increase productive performance after Se was

The combined effects of vitamin E and selenium were studied in native Anatolian horses subject to strenuous exercise. The
concentrations of copper, zinc, iron, calcium, potassium, and magnesium were determined in serum by atomic absorption spectrometry
in two study groups (n = 25 each), one of which served as untreated controls. After exercising the horses by running 1,500 m in about 7 min, only
the copper level and the copper/zinc ratio significantly increased (p < 0.05), but the concentrations of calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium remained unchanged. In horses treated with vitamin
E and selenium, the calcium and potassium levels decreased to levels lower than those of untreated controls before and after
exercise. The iron levels were not changed by exercise or treatment alone but increased when the horses had been supplemented
and exercised. The copper level and the copper/zinc ration increased as a result of exercise in both treated and untreated
horses. These changes suggest that supplementation with vitamin E and selenium had an important effect on the serum concentrations
of calcium, potassium, copper, iron, and the copper/zinc ratio. 相似文献

Variations of copper (Cu) concentration and ceruloplasmin (Cp) activity in serum and plasma of dairy cows at different stages
of lactation were assessed in 240 Holstein dairy cows. Furthermore, ceruloplasmin to copper ratios were also investigated.
The cows were classified according to their lactation stages into four different groups as close-up stage (3–1 week(s) antepartum),
fresh lactation stage (0–1 week postpartum), early lactation stage (3–5 weeks postpartum), and mid-lactation stage (15–18 weeks
postpartum). Each group consisted of 60 multiparous cows. Serum and heparinised plasma samples were obtained from each cow.
Concentrations of serum copper (sCu) and plasma copper (pCu) as well as activities of plasma Cp (pCp) were higher in the group
of fresh lactation stage than other groups (P < 0.05). Serum Cp (sCp) exhibited no significant difference between fresh lactation and early lactation groups (P > 0.05). Low correlations were obtained between sCp and pCu, sCp and sCu, and sCu and pCu. Plasma copper concentration and
plasma ceruloplasmin activity were higher than serum copper concentration and serum ceruloplasmin activity, respectively (P < 0.001). The ratios of Cp activity to Cu concentration (Cp/Cu) were not significantly changed in the different lactation
stages of dairy cows (P > 0.05). Use of sCp/pCu and sCp/sCu rather than pCp/pCu will reduce the calculated value of Cp/Cu. Furthermore, for evaluation
of copper status, use of sCp/sCu or sCp/pCu identified more animals as ‘low’ and ‘marginal’ than using pCp/pCu (P < 0.001). It can be concluded that ceruloplasmin and copper undergo a physiological increase just after calving; thus, their
values should be interpreted with caution during assessment of copper status. Plasma measurements should be used for calculation
of Cp/Cu, and further research is required to refine diagnosis criteria for use of such ratio in determining copper status

Changes in Serum Mineral Concentrations,Biochemical and Hematological Parameters in Horses with Pica

The aim of this study was to compare hematological, some biochemical parameters, and serum trace element concentrations in
horses with or without pica. Fifteen horses with pica (group I) and another 15 healthy horses without pica (group II) were
used. The hematological parameters were not changed between the two groups. In group I, hemoglobin values were lower than
those of group II. However, the difference in hemoglobin values between the two groups was not significant (P > 0.05). Serum iron and copper concentrations and the copper/zinc ratio were lower in group I than those of group II (P < 0.05). The other biochemical parameters were not found to be statistically different between the two groups (P > 0.05). It was concluded that serum iron and copper deficiency may play an important role for the etiology of pica in horses.
Prophylactic use of iron and copper supplements in horses may be beneficial to prevent pica. 相似文献

Premature graying of hair with unclear etiology, which is known as premature canities, is a common cause of referrals to the
dermatologists. We assessed the relationship between serum iron, copper, and zinc concentrations with premature canities.
This study was conducted on patients under 20 years old suffering from premature canities, having a minimum of ten gray hair
fibers, and referring to university hospitals of Isfahan (Iran). The results were compared with age–sex-matched controls.
Demographic data and disease characteristics were recorded for two groups. We studied serum iron, copper, and zinc concentrations
of 66 patients and 66 controls using atomic absorption and Ferrozine methods. The mean age of studied cases was 17.8 ± 2.0 years,
and the mean age of the onset of canities was 15.5 ± 3.2 years with no significant difference between males and females (P > 0.05). Serum copper concentration was significantly lower in patients compared with controls (90.7 ± 37.4 vs. 105.3 ± 50.2 μg/dL,
P = 0.048), but serum iron concentration was significantly lower in controls compared to patients (88.8 ± 39.5 vs. 108.3 ± 48.4 μg/dL,
P = 0.008). Also, there was no significant difference between patients and controls in serum zinc concentration (114.8 ± 67.8
vs. 108.2 ± 49.9 μg/dL, P = 0.285). According to these results, among copper, zinc, and iron, a low serum copper concentration may play a role in premature
graying of hairs in our society. Further studies are needed to find the underlying mechanism of this relationship. 相似文献

The serum concentrations of copper, zinc, iron, and cobalt and copper/zinc ratio were investigated in horses infected with
equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1). Nine horses were naturally infected with the virus and nine healthy horses served as controls.
The concentrations of copper, zinc, iron, and cobalt were determined spectrophotometrically in the blood serum of all horses.
The results were (expressed in micrograms per deciliters) copper 2.80 ± 0.34 vs 1.12 ± 0.44, zinc 3.05 ± 0.18 vs 0.83 ± 0.06,
iron 2.76 ± 0.17 vs 3.71 ± 0.69, cobalt 0.19 ± 0.37 vs 0.22 ± 0.45, and copper/zinc ratio 0.72 ± 0.38 vs 1.41 ± 0.36 for control
vs infected group, respectively. In conclusion, copper and zinc concentrations of the infected group were lower than the control
group (p < 0.001), whereas iron concentration and the copper/zinc ratio of the infected group were higher than the control group (p < 0.05 and p < 0.001). The cobalt concentration was not found to be statistically different between two groups. It might be emphasized
that copper/zinc ratio was significantly affected by the EHV-1 infection, so it could be taken into consideration during the
course of infection.

Pregnant women in developing countries are vulnerable to multiple micronutrient deficiencies. Studies assessing serum levels
of the micronutrients and magnitude of their deficiencies are very scarce in African subjects. This study was aimed at determining
serum levels of micronutrients in 375 pregnant (42 HIV seropositive) and 76 non-pregnant women (20 HIV seropositive) who visited
the University of Gondar Hospital, Gondar, Ethiopia. Serum concentrations of zinc,\ copper, selenium, calcium, and magnesium
were determined using an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Irrespective of HIV serostatus, pregnant women had
significantly higher serum concentrations of copper and copper/zinc ratio and significantly lower magnesium compared to those
in non-pregnant women (P < 0.05). Except for selenium, which was significantly lower in HIV-seropositive pregnant women (P < 0.05), the mean serum concentrations of zinc, copper, calcium, and magnesium were not significantly different between pregnant
women by HIV serostatus. The prevalence of deficiency in zinc, magnesium, selenium, and calcium in the pregnant women, irrespective
of their HIV serostatus, was 66.7%, 25.6%, 21.9%, and 9.3%, respectively. The magnitude of deficiency in zinc, magnesium,
and selenium was significantly higher in HIV seropositive pregnant women (76.2%, 52.4%, and 45.2%) than that in HIV-seronegative
pregnant women (65.5%, 22.2%, and 18.9%) and in HIV-seronegative non-pregnant women (42.9%, 8.1%, and 30.4%; P < 0.05). Deficiency in one, two, three, or four mineral elements was observed in 44.8%, 14.4%, 9.9%, and 5.1% of the pregnant
women, respectively. Only 25.9% of the pregnant women and 44.7% of the non-pregnant women were not deficient in any of the
micronutrients. The high prevalence of micronutrient deficiencies in pregnant and non-pregnant women in Gondar, Ethiopia warrants
the need for strategies on prevention and control of the deficiencies. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and effectiveness of direct determination of trace and major element
concentrations in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples from Holstein calves with Mycoplasma bronchopneumonia (n = 21) and healthy controls (n = 20). The samples were obtained during bronchoscopy using a standard examination method. A total of 18 elements (aluminum,
bromine, calcium, chlorine, chromium, copper, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, phosphorous, sulfur,
silicon, strontium, titanium, and zinc) were detected by particle-induced X-ray emission. The average bromine, iron, potassium,
magnesium, and phosphorous concentrations were higher in calves with bronchopneumonia than in controls (p < 0.05). They were found to have higher amounts of calcium and zinc, and a higher zinc–copper ratio than that in healthy
calves (p < 0.001). Based on the receiver operating characteristics curves, we propose a diagnostic cutoff point for zinc–copper ratio
for identification of Mycoplasma pneumonia of 8.676. Our results indicate that assessment of the elemental composition of broncholaveolar lavage fluid is
a promising diagnostic tool for Mycoplasma bronchopneumonia. 相似文献

Intense physical activity is associated with biological adaptations involving hormones and trace elements. Zinc supplementation
may affect plasma copper concentration, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroid hormones, insulin, and glucose homeostasis,
but data in athletes are scarce. The aim of this study was to evaluate in competitive athletes (cyclists, n = 7, 32 ± 8 years) the effect of zinc supplementation (22 mg/day as zinc gluconate) during 30 days, and discontinuation using
placebo (maltodextrin) during the following 30 days, on plasma zinc and copper concentrations, serum thyroid hormones, insulin
and glucose levels, and HOMA2-IR. Compared to baseline, plasma zinc and Zn:Cu plasma ratio increased, but plasma copper decreased
after zinc supplementation (day 30) and discontinuation (day 60) (p < 0.05). Zn supplementation and discontinuation had no effect on TSH, T3, and T4. Fasting serum insulin and HOMA2-IR increased
(27% and 47%, respectively) on day 60 compared to baseline (p = 0.03), suggesting a delayed effect of zinc supplementation. Moreover, plasma zinc was positively associated with serum
insulin (r = 0.87, p = 0.009) and HOMA2-IR (r = 0.81, p = 0.03) after zinc supplementation (day 30), indicating that supplemental zinc may impair glucose utilization in cyclists. 相似文献

The present study was conducted during 2005 and 2006 on 200 Nili-Ravi buffaloes kept in two agroecological zones (irrigated [zone 1] and rain-fed [zone-2]) of Punjab, Pakistan, with the objective to determine the level of trace minerals (Cu, Fe, Zn, Se) in serum of the buffaloes suffering from vaginal prolapse and to compare them with their healthy counterparts. In each zone 50 buffaloes suffering from prepartum vaginal prolapse during their seventh month of gestation were identified through survey. Vaginal prolapse-affected buffaloes belonging to zone 1 were identified as group VPB1 (N = 50), whereas buffaloes belonging to zone 2 were recognized as VPB2 (N = 50). The buffaloes of control group in zone 1 and zone 2 were identified as NCB1 and NCB2, respectively. The blood samples in all four groups of buffaloes were collected three times, i.e., first when these animals were in the eighth month of gestation, second during the eighth to ninth month of gestation, and finally when these animals were in the ninth or later month of gestation. The mean serum copper concentrations in buffaloes of group VPB1 were significantly lower (P < 0.05) in comparison with NCB1 and NCB2, whereas there were nonsignificant differences (P > 0.05) in copper concentrations between VPB1 and VPB2. There was a significant difference (P < 0.05) of iron concentration in VPB1 compared with NCB1 and NCB2. Similarly, VPB2 also had significantly lower (P < 0.05) iron concentrations compared with NCB1 and NCB2. Serum zinc concentrations were significantly lower (P < 0.05) in animals of the VPB1 group when compared with NCB1 and NCB2. Similarly, lower zinc concentrations were observed in VPB2 in comparison with NCB1 and NCB2. There was significantly lower (P < 0.05) zinc concentration in affected buffaloes (VPB1 and VPB2) from the ninth month of gestation to term when compared with those in the eighth to ninth mo of gestation, and with those not yet in the eighth month of gestation. Serum selenium concentration were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in control group buffaloes (NCB1 and NCB2) in comparison with vaginal prolapse-affected buffaloes (VPB1 and VPB2). During different stages of gestation, mean serum selenium concentrations varied nonsignificantly (P > 0.05) within each group of buffalo. Based on information obtained from this study, it was concluded that the low serum concentration of copper and selenium are linked to increased incidence of vaginal prolapse in buffaloes during the last trimester of gestation. 相似文献

The proper concentrations of plasma bioelements may favorably reduce the incidence of metabolic disorders, which often occur
during immunosuppressive therapy. Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) is currently one of the most frequently administered immunosuppressive
agents; however, MMF treatment is often related to gastrointestinal side effects. The aim of this study was thus to verify
whether the MMF treatment itself, or its metabolite pharmacokinetics, has an effect on the concentrations of plasma bioelements.
To determine this, the effect of MMF on the levels of both major (sodium [Na], potassium [K], calcium [Ca], magnesium [Mg]),
and trace (iron [Fe], zinc [Zn], copper [Cu]) plasma bioelements in 61 renal transplant recipients was assessed in comparison
to a control group (n = 45). The pharmacokinetic parameters of mycophenolic acid were determined by the high-performance liquid chromatography
method. All patients filled out a 24-h diet history questionnaire. The results showed high plasma concentrations of Fe and
low plasma concentrations of Mg and Zn as compared with diagnostic norms. The patients treated with MMF had significantly
lower plasma Na (P < 0.001) and significantly higher plasma Zn (P = 0.030) and Cu concentrations (P < 0.001). In conclusion, MMF treatment was found to affect plasma Fe, Zn, and Cu levels by increasing their concentrations
while decreasing the plasma Na concentration. Mg and Zn deficiencies, as well as excessive Fe levels, are frequently observed
irrespective of the immunosuppressive regimen applied, which suggests that monitoring of these bioelements may be favorable. 相似文献

Twenty male buffalo calves (15 months, 200.2 ± 9.75) were divided into four groups of five animals in each and fed diets without
(T1) or supplemented with 0.3 ppm selenium (Se) + 40 ppm zinc (Zn) (T2), 0.3 ppm Se + 40 ppm Zn + 10 ppm copper (Cu) (T3),
and 40 ppm Zn + 10 ppm Cu (T4) for 120 days, during which blood samples were collected on days 0, 40, 80, and 120. Concentrations
of glucose, total protein, albumin, globulin, urea, uric acid, and creatinine were similar in all the four groups. The level
of different serum enzymes viz. lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase, glutamate pyruvate transaminase, and glutamate
oxaloacetate transaminase, and hormones viz. T3, T4, testosterone and insulin were similar (P > 0.05) among the four groups but the ratio of T4/T3 was reduced (P < 0.05) in the groups (T2 and T3) where selenium was supplemented at 120th day of supplementation. It was deduced that supplementation
of 0.3 ppm Se and/or 10.0 ppm of Cu with 40 ppm Zn had no effect on blood metabolic profile in buffalo calves, except the
ratio of T4 and T3 hormone which indicates that selenium plays an important role in converting T4 hormone to T3 which is more active form of thyroid hormone. 相似文献

(i.e., seneno-dl-methylseleno), respectively. The feeding trial lasted for 60 days, with 32 and 28 days for gestation and lactation period,
respectively. Compared with sodium selenite, maternal selenomethionine intake significantly (p < 0.05) increased the daily weight gain of piglet from birth to weaning. The Se concentration in the colostrum and milk and
tissue Se content of piglets were significantly higher (p < 0.05) in the selenomethionine-treated group. The antioxidant status was greatly improved in piglets of selenomethionine-treated
group and was illuminated by the increased total antioxidant capability, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and
glutathione, and decreased the malondialdehyde level in the organs of piglets. The increased (p < 0.05) triiodothyronine (T3) and decreased (p < 0.05) thyroxine (T4) concentration indicated the improved protein synthesis and energy production in the selenomethionine-treated group. The
increased (p < 0.05) pancreatic digestive enzymes of protease, amylase, and lipase activities indicated that maternal selenomethionine
intake may have a positive effect on the degradation and absorption of nutrients in its piglets. In summary, we concluded
that maternal selenomethionine intake increased Se deposition, antioxidant status, and nutrient use efficiency, thus providing
an effective way to improve the growth performance of piglets from birth to weaning. 相似文献

Previous studies showed that responses to chronic administration of copper were significantly associated with gender, raising
the need to better characterize the relation between the effects observed and stradiols. The objective of this study was to
measure copper and liver function indicators and the sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) serum concentrations in healthy adults
exposed to copper, grouped by sex and phase of the female hormonal cycle. Healthy females on day 7 (follicular phase, Group
1, n = 39), on day 21 (secretory phase, Group 2, n = 34) and males (comparison group, Group 3, n = 34) received 8 mg Cu/day (as copper sulfate), orally, for 6 months. On days 0, 30, 60, 120, and 180, the serum concentration
of copper, ceruloplasmin, liver aminotransferases, and SHBG were measured. Analysis of results included analysis of variance
(ANOVA; repeated measures) and the post hoc Bonferroni correction. Participants remained healthy throughout the study period,
including aminotransferases below the cut off in all measures. GGT, AST, and ALT activities were significantly different by
group and by time (ANOVA repeated measures P < 0.05). Six-month curves of serum copper and ceruloplasmin concentrations were different by group, by time and interaction
group × time (all P < 0.001). SHBG curves were different by group and time (P < 0.01), and interaction group × time (P < 0.009). Serum copper, ceruloplasmin, and liver aminotranferases are influenced by estrogens/progesterone, something that
should be considered when these indicators are used as outcomes of effects. Time of sampling was also significantly associated
with the indicators and deserves further study. 相似文献

One hundred twenty crossbred piglets (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire) were used to determine the effects of dietary zinc glycine
chelate on growth performance, tissue mineral concentrations, and serum enzyme activity. All pigs were allotted to four treatments
and fed with basal diets supplemented with 0, 50, and 100 mg/kg Zn as zinc glycine chelate or 3,000 mg/kg Zn as zinc oxide
(ZnO). After the 35-day feeding trial, results of the study showed that, compared to the control, average daily gain was improved
(P < 0.05) for pigs fed 100 mg/kg Zn from zinc glycine chelate or 3,000 mg/kg Zn from ZnO and Zn concentrations in serum and
M. longissimus dorsi were significantly enhanced by 100 mg/kg dietary zinc glycine chelate and 3,000 mg/kg ZnO. In addition, supplementation of
100 mg/kg zinc glycine chelate decreased (P < 0.05) the liver Fe level, liver Zn level, spleen Cu level, and kidney Cu level compared to that of the 3,000-mg/kg ZnO
group. For feces mineral excretion, 3,000 mg/kg Zn from ZnO greatly increased the concentration of fecal Zn (P < 0.01) and Mn (P < 0.05) compared to that of the control or the 100-mg/kg zinc glycine chelate group. Moreover, alkaline phosphatase and Cu/Zn
superoxide dismutase activities of pigs in 100 mg/kg zinc glycine chelate and ZnO treatments were greatly higher than that
of the control. The results of present study showed that supplementation with zinc glycine chelate could improve growth and
serum enzyme activities and could also decrease zinc excretion in feces in weanling pig compared to high dietary ZnO. 相似文献

It is well established that pregnancy induces physiological, metabolical and hormonal changes. As a consequence, trace metal
metabolism can be affected. The aim of the present study was to assess the urinary cadmium levels in women during gestation
and postpartum. The survey was conducted in a group of nonoccupationally cadmium-exposed women from Southern Catalonia (NE,
Spain). Urine samples were obtained before pregnancy, during the 6th, 10th, 26th, and 30th wk of gestation, as well as during
the 5th and 24th wk after delivery. Urinary cadmium levels were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry.
The concentrations of zinc and copper in plasma were also measured. Moreover, to assess the effect of the diet during pregnancy,
dietary ingestions of zinc, iron, and calcium were also determined. A significant decrease of plasma zinc levels could be
observed during the last two trimesters of pregnancy, while plasma copper concentrations significantly increased during the
same period. Urinary cadmium concentrations ranged from 0.05 to 3.79 μg/g creatinine (geometric mean 0.49±2.26 μg/g creatinine).
No significant changes in urinary cadmium concentrations during pregnancy and postpartum could be observed. 相似文献

(ALT), cholesterol, albumin, globulin, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and total protein concentrations in cattle. Two groups
of mated (n=14) and nonmated (n=10), healthy cows were selected for the study. Serum samples were collected at each of four periods: (1) early pregnancy
(May), (2) midpregnancy (August), (3) late pregnancy (October), and (4) lactation (February). Physiological variations result
in changes of cholesterol, calcium, LDH, and total protein concentrations. Phosphorus varies only with seasonal but not physiological
changes, whereas ALP, copper, magnesium, and potassium concentrations change with physiological and seasonal conditions. The
copper concentration is increased through the pregnancy. Neither the seasonal nor the physiologic variations affect zinc,
iron, sodium, chlorine, calcium, urea, creatinine, albumin, and globulin values in both groups in all periods. Thus, these
values can be used as reference for both mater and nonmated bovines. The measured total protein might not reflect its true
value because of dehydration during the hot season. These observations suggest that seasonal and physiologic variations have
to be taken into consideration for the correct interpretation of serum chemistry and elements status in cattle. Nutritional
supplements are required for cattle during certain periods to avoid a decline of their performance, which would then represent

The purpose of this study was to determine the different levels of copper and zinc in the serum, urine, and scalp hair of
patients with Wilson’s disease receiving different, currently accepted methods of treatment to reduce the copper load (penicillamine—group
1, n = 8; zinc—group 2, n = 8; penicillamine+zinc—group 3, n = 8). Blood, urine, and hair samples were collected from the patients. All three treatments resulted in a significant decrease
of the serum copper levels. Significantly increased levels of zinc in the serum were detected in the patients in groups 2
and 3 (19.1 and 18.8 μmol/l, respectively; p < 0.05). Copper excretion in the urine significantly increased during its administration to groups 1 and 3 (11.5 and 7.94 μmol/24 h
respectively; p < 0.001) due to the effect of penicillamine. The administration of zinc as monotherapy (group 2) or in combination with penicillamine
(group 3) led to an increase of its excretion (25.3 and 22.4 μmol/24 h, respectively; p < 0.01). Only an insignificant rise of the copper content in the hair was found in all three groups of patients. The content

Asthma is one of the most common diseases complicating pregnancy and represents a risk factor for several maternal and perinatal
complications. The natural history of asthma is known to change in pregnancy, but very few data are available in the terms
of pathomechanism of this change during gestation. Circulating heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) levels are decreased in healthy
pregnancy, which might reflect physiological immunotolerance. The aim of our study was to determine the serum levels of Hsp70
in asthmatic women during gestation. Forty pregnant women with bronchial asthma and 40 healthy pregnant women matched for
maternal and gestational age were involved in this case-control study. Serum Hsp70 levels were measured using the ELISA Kit
of R&D Systems. Spirometry and oxygen saturation measurements were performed in asthmatic patients. In asthmatic pregnant
women, an increase of serum Hsp70 levels was observed compared to healthy pregnant women (median (25–75 percentile): 0.44 ng/ml
(0.36–0.53) versus 0.21 ng/ml (0–0.27), p < 0.001). Fetal birth weight of asthmatic mothers was significantly smaller than of healthy controls, but in the normal range
(3,230 g (2,690–3,550) versus 3,550 g (3,450–3,775), p < 0.05). A statistically significant negative correlation between maternal age and serum Hsp70 concentrations (Spearman R = −0.48, p = 0.0018) and a significant positive correlation between gestational age and serum Hsp70 levels (Spearman R = 0.83, p < 0.001) were detected in healthy pregnant women. In conclusion, this study proves an elevation of circulating Hsp70 levels
during asthmatic pregnancy compared to healthy pregnant women. However, further studies are warranted to determine the role
of circulating Hsp70 in the pathogenesis of maternal and perinatal complications of asthma in pregnancy. 相似文献
