An input‐output‐based life cycle inventory (IO‐based LCI) is grounded on economic environmental input‐output analysis (IO analysis). It is a fast and low‐budget method for generating LCI data sets, and is used to close data gaps in life cycle assessment (LCA). Due to the fact that its methodological basis differs from that of process‐based inventory, its application in LCA is a matter of controversy. We developed a German IO‐based approach to derive IO‐based LCI data sets that is based on the German IO accounts and on the German environmental accounts, which provide data for the sector‐specific direct emissions of seven airborne compounds. The method to calculate German IO‐based LCI data sets for building products is explained in detail. The appropriateness of employing IO‐based LCI for German buildings is analyzed by using process‐based LCI data from the Swiss Ecoinvent database to validate the calculated IO‐based LCI data. The extent of the deviations between process‐based LCI and IO‐based LCI varies considerably for the airborne emissions we investigated. We carried out a systematic evaluation of the possible reasons for this deviation. This analysis shows that the sector‐specific effects (aggregation of sectors) and the quality of primary data for emissions from national inventory reporting (NIR) are the main reasons for the deviations. As a rule, IO‐based LCI data sets seem to underestimate specific emissions while overestimating sector‐specific aspects.  相似文献

由于同一物种不同种群的重要性不同、用于物种保护的资金有限以及保护与发展经济之间的矛盾,因此对于重要物种(尤其是濒危种类以及农作物和驯化动物的野生近缘种)需要确定保护什么以及保护哪儿。目前确定优先保护种群的方法主要有3类,分别为基于遗传变异、基于遗传差异性和基于遗传贡献率的方法。基于遗传变异的方法主要是根据遗传变异程度(尤其是等位基因多样性)来确定优先保护的顺序,但忽略了种群之间的遗传差异性,这容易使得存在于遗传变异程度较低的种群中的特有等位基因得不到有效保护。而基于遗传差异性的方法(如确定进化显著单元)则是从遗传分化程度的角度考虑优先性,即独特性越强的种群越具有保护价值。基于遗传贡献率的方法由于综合考虑了遗传多样性和差异性,最适合于确定哪些种群需要优先保护。我国开展此类研究十分必要。  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To determine the attitude of general practitioners towards evidence based medicine and their related educational needs. DESIGN: A questionnaire study of general practitioners. SETTING: General practice in the former Wessex region, England. SUBJECTS: Randomly selected sample of 25% of all general practitioners (452), of whom 302 replied. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Respondents'' attitude towards evidence based medicine, ability to access and interpret evidence, perceived barriers to practising evidence based medicine, and best method of moving from opinion based to evidence based medicine. RESULTS: Respondents mainly welcomed evidence based medicine and agreed that its practice improves patient care. They had a low level of awareness of extracting journals, review publications, and databases (only 40% knew of the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews), and, even if aware, many did not use them. In their surgeries 20% had access to bibliographic databases and 17% to the world wide web. Most had some understanding of the technical terms used. The major perceived barrier to practising evidence based medicine was lack of personal time. Respondents thought the most appropriate way to move towards evidence based general practice was by using evidence based guidelines or proposals developed by colleagues. CONCLUSION: Promoting and improving access to summaries of evidence, rather than teaching all general practitioners literature searching and critical appraisal, would be the more appropriate method of encouraging evidence based general practice. General practitioners who are skilled in accessing and interpreting evidence should be encouraged to develop local evidence based guidelines and advice.  相似文献

DNA barcoding has become a promising means for the identification of organisms of all life‐history stages. Currently, distance‐based and tree‐based methods are most widely used to define species boundaries and uncover cryptic species. However, there is no universal threshold of genetic distance values that can be used to distinguish taxonomic groups. Alternatively, DNA barcoding can deploy a “character‐based” method, whereby species are identified through the discrete nucleotide substitutions. Our research focuses on the delimitation of moth species using DNA‐barcoding methods. We analyzed 393 Lepidopteran specimens belonging to 80 morphologically recognized species with a standard cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequencing approach, and deployed tree‐based, distance‐based, and diagnostic character‐based methods to identify the taxa. The tree‐based method divided the 393 specimens into 79 taxa (species), and the distance‐based method divided them into 84 taxa (species). Although the diagnostic character‐based method found only 39 so‐identifiable species in the 80 species, with a reduction in sample size the accuracy rate substantially improved. For example, in the Arctiidae subset, all 12 species had diagnostics characteristics. Compared with traditional morphological method, molecular taxonomy performed well. All three methods enable the rapid delimitation of species, although they have different characteristics and different strengths. The tree‐based and distance‐based methods can be used for accurate species identification and biodiversity studies in large data sets, while the character‐based method performs well in small data sets and can also be used as the foundation of species‐specific biochips.  相似文献

Informed consent is considered by many to be a moral imperative in medical research. However, it is increasingly acknowledged that in many actual instances of consent to participation in medical research, participants do not employ the provided information in their decision to consent, but rather consent based on the trust they hold in the researcher or research enterprise. In this article we explore whether trust‐based consent is morally inferior to information‐based consent. We analyse the moral values essential to valid consent – autonomy, voluntariness, non‐manipulation, and non‐exploitation – and assess whether these values are less protected and promoted by consent based on trust than they are by consent based on information. We find that this is not the case, and thus conclude that trust‐based consent if not morally inferior to information‐based consent.  相似文献

Asymptotic and exact conditional approaches have often been used for testing agreement between two raters with binary outcomes. The exact conditional approach is guaranteed to respect the test size as compared to the traditionally used asymptotic approach based on the standardized Cohen''s kappa coefficient. An alternative to the conditional approach is an unconditional strategy which relaxes the restriction of fixed marginal totals as in the conditional approach. Three exact unconditional hypothesis testing procedures are considered in this article: an approach based on maximization, an approach based on the conditional p-value and maximization, and an approach based on estimation and maximization. We compared these testing procedures based on the commonly used Cohen''s kappa with regards to test size and power. We recommend the following two exact approaches for use in practice due to power advantages: the approach based on conditional p-value and maximization and the approach based on estimation and maximization.  相似文献

Compared to the rapid development of nonfullerene organic solar cells (OSCs) based on the state‐of‐the‐art indacenodithiophene (IDT)‐based small molecule acceptors (SMAs), the progress for perylene diimide (PDI)‐based electron acceptors has lagged behind owing to the lack of understanding on the structure–morphology–performance relationship of PDI SMAs. Given the ease of synthesis for PDIs and their high intrinsic electron mobility, it is crucial to identify key material parameters that influence the polymer:PDI blend morphology and to develop rational approaches for molecular design toward high‐performance PDI‐based SMAs. In this study, three pairs of PDI‐based SMAs with and without ring‐fusion are investigated and it is found that ring‐fusion and domain purity are the key structural and morphological factors determining the fill factors (FFs) and efficiencies of PDI‐based nonfullerene OSCs. This data shows that nonfullerene OSCs based on the ring‐fused PDI‐based SMAs exhibit much higher average domain purity and thus increased charge mobilities, which lead to enhanced FFs compared to those solar cells based on nonfused PDIs. This is explained by higher Florry Huggins interaction parameters as observed by melting point depression measurements. This study suggests that increasing repulsive molecular interactions to lower the miscibility between the polymer donor and PDI acceptor is the key to improve the FF and performance of PDI‐based devices.  相似文献

1. The use of trait‐based approaches to examine the ecology of stream fish assemblages is increasing. However, selection of traits that will be useful in testing spatial or temporal hypotheses about ecological organisation is currently limited by availability of data, rather than empirical evaluation. 2. We analysed two data sets of stream fish assemblages to compare taxonomy and trait‐based approaches. The Wabash River temporal data set is based on 25 years of boat electrofishing collections over a 230‐km river distance. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management data set of stream collections in the state of Indiana was selected to represent a spatial database. We compared several trait‐based approaches: reproductive guilds, life history variables, biomonitoring metrics, ecosystem‐based functional guilds and feeding and ecosystem interaction guilds. 3. Analyses of fish assemblages that are designed to detect how environmental variation structures fish assemblages can expect similar results using taxonomic or trait‐based approaches. Results of trait‐based approaches will vary according to the spatial extent of the region and the number of unique entities of trait groups for a given data set. However, taxonomic analyses accounted for more variation than any trait‐based analyses.  相似文献

We propose a local fractal dimension based nearest neighbor classifier for ECG based classification of arrhythmia. Local fractal dimension (LFD) at each sample point of the ECG waveform is taken as the feature. A nearest neighbor algorithm in the feature space is used to find the class of the test ECG beat. The nearest neighbor is found based on the RR-interval-information-biased Euclidean distance, proposed in the current work. Based on the two algorithms used for estimating the LFD, two classification algorithms are validated in the current work, viz. variance based fractal dimension estimation based nearest neighbor classifier and power spectral density based fractal dimension estimation based nearest neighbor classifier. Their performances are evaluated based on various figures of merit. MIT-BIH (Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital) Arrhythmia dataset has been used to validate the algorithms. Along with showing good performance against all the figures of merit, the proposed algorithms also proved to be patient independent in the sense that the performance is good even when the test ECG signal is from a patient whose ECG is not present in the training ECG dataset.  相似文献

Aims: The objective of this study was to assess the antimicrobial efficacy of alcohol‐based hand gels according to European Norm 1500 (EN 1500). Methods and Results: We assessed the antimicrobial efficacy of 12 alcohol‐based hand gels produced in Brazil, containing 70% w/w or v/v ethyl alcohol as the active ingredient, according to EN 1500, with a 30‐s application. In addition, 70% w/w ethyl alcohol and three alcohol‐based hand rubs commonly used in Europe and effective according to EN 1500 were also tested. Eight of 12 (67%) alcohol‐based hand gels produced in Brazil failed by EN 1500. In contrast, 70% w/w ethyl alcohol and European alcohol‐based hand rubs were approved by EN 1500. Conclusions: In this study, the majority of Brazilian alcohol‐based hand gels showed limited efficacy on hand hygiene within 30 s. Significance and Impact of the Study: The findings of this study may be used as an important argument to motivate Brazilian manufacturers to improve the antimicrobial efficacy of alcohol‐based hand gels, because it is prudent to suppose that alcohol‐based hand gels can be recommended for use in healthcare settings only if they show antimicrobial activity at least similar to that of alcohol‐based liquid preparations, including the traditional 70% w/w ethyl alcohol.  相似文献

A conchal floor composite flap pedicled by skin of the helical crus has been well described in the literature. Here the flap is elevated based on the supply by an upper auricular branch of the superficial temporal artery. In this article, a newly defined conchal floor arterial flap is proposed. The flap is based on the main stem of the posterior auricular artery and its venae comitantes. Two types of conchal floor arterial flaps were elevated: a proximally based chondral arterial flap and a distally based chondrocutaneous arterial flap. The proximally based flap was used for earlobe reconstruction, whereas the distally based flap was useful in the reconstruction of the upper auricle. Nine congenital auricular malformations were successfully corrected with this newly defined conchal floor flap procedure. This type of flap is easier to elevate, more reliable, and more versatile than the one currently in use.  相似文献

The peptide‐based therapeutic cancer vaccines have attracted enormous attention in recent years as one of the effective treatments of tumour immunotherapy. Most of peptide‐based vaccines are based on epitope peptides stimulating CD8+ T cells or CD4+ T helper cells to target tumour‐associated antigens (TAAs) or tumour‐specific antigens (TSAs). Some adjuvants and nanomaterials have been exploited to optimize the efficiency of immune response of the epitope peptide to improve its clinical application. At present, numerous peptide‐based therapeutic cancer vaccines have been developed and achieved significant clinical benefits. Similarly, the combination of peptide‐based vaccines and other therapies has demonstrated a superior efficacy in improving anti‐cancer activity. We delve deeper into the choices of targets, design and screening of epitope peptides, clinical efficacy and adverse events of peptide‐based vaccines, and strategies combination of peptide‐based therapeutic cancer vaccines and other therapies. The review will provide a detailed overview and basis for future clinical application of peptide‐based therapeutic cancer vaccines.  相似文献

Insect‐based feed is arising as an alternative protein source for animal feed. Insect‐based feed is more sustainable and has a higher nutritive value. However, it is not publicly well‐accepted because of consumer repulsion and concerns of food safety. In order to properly address concerns of food safety and risks involved in insect‐based feed production, the Korean Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) needs to implement new regulations that govern insect‐based feed as there are currently none. Although modern technology allows for mass rearing insects, current production methods are high in costs. The production cost is one of the principal components in animal feed production. Therefore, innovations to mechanize and automate the production process and efforts to further reduce costs are necessary. Along with high costs, the current legislation is also a major obstacle to employing insect‐based feed. Korea and many other countries inhibit the use of animal‐based protein in animal feed which makes insect‐based feed illegal. In order to move forward with insect‐based feed, there must first be reforms in current regulations to permit the use of insects in animal feed. Despite the current barriers, insect‐based feed may become more prevalent in the near future. Therefore, there also must be international laws enacted that can ensure food safety in the international trade of insect‐fed animals.  相似文献

Vegetation is an important part of ecosystem and estimation of fractional vegetation cover is of significant meaning to monitoring of vegetation growth in a certain region. With Landsat TM images and HJ-1B images as data source, an improved selective endmember linear spectral mixture model (SELSMM) was put forward in this research to estimate the fractional vegetation cover in Huangfuchuan watershed in China. We compared the result with the vegetation coverage estimated with linear spectral mixture model (LSMM) and conducted accuracy test on the two results with field survey data to study the effectiveness of different models in estimation of vegetation coverage. Results indicated that: (1) the RMSE of the estimation result of SELSMM based on TM images is the lowest, which is 0.044. The RMSEs of the estimation results of LSMM based on TM images, SELSMM based on HJ-1B images and LSMM based on HJ-1B images are respectively 0.052, 0.077 and 0.082, which are all higher than that of SELSMM based on TM images; (2) the R2 of SELSMM based on TM images, LSMM based on TM images, SELSMM based on HJ-1B images and LSMM based on HJ-1B images are respectively 0.668, 0.531, 0.342 and 0.336. Among these models, SELSMM based on TM images has the highest estimation accuracy and also the highest correlation with measured vegetation coverage. Of the two methods tested, SELSMM is superior to LSMM in estimation of vegetation coverage and it is also better at unmixing mixed pixels of TM images than pixels of HJ-1B images. So, the SELSMM based on TM images is comparatively accurate and reliable in the research of regional fractional vegetation cover estimation.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) have the potential to be practically applied in large‐scale energy storage markets. The rapid progress of SIBs research is primarily focused on electrodes, while electrolytes attract less attention. Indeed, the improvement of electrode performance is arguably correlated with the electrolyte optimization. In conventional lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), ether‐based electrolytes are historically less practical owing to the insufficient passivation of both anodes and cathodes. As an important class of aprotic electrolytes, ethers have revived with the emerging lithium‐sulfur and lithium‐oxygen batteries in recent years, and are even booming in the wave of SIBs. Ether‐based electrolytes are unique to enabling these new battery chemistries in terms of producing stable ternary graphite intercalation compounds, modifying anode solid electrolyte interphases, reducing the solubility of intermediates, and decreasing polarization. Better still, ether‐based electrolytes are compatible with specific inorganic cathodes and could catalyze the assembly of full SIBs prototypes. This Research News article aims to summarize the recent critical reports on ether‐based electrolytes in sodium‐based batteries, to unveil the uniqueness of ether‐based electrolytes to advancing diverse electrode materials, and to shed light on the viability and challenges of ether‐based electrolytes in future sodium‐based battery chemistries.  相似文献

Carbon‐based nanomaterials have significantly pushed the boundary of electrochemical performance of lithium‐based batteries (LBs) thanks to their excellent conductivity, high specific surface area, controllable morphology, and intrinsic stability. Complementary to these inherent properties, various synthetic techniques have been adopted to prepare carbon‐based nanomaterials with diverse structures and different dimensionalities including 1D nanotubes and nanorods, 2D nanosheets and films, and 3D hierarchical architectures, which have been extensively applied as high‐performance electrode materials for energy storage and conversion. The present review aims to outline the structural design and composition engineering of carbon‐based nanomaterials as high‐performance electrodes of LBs including lithium‐ion batteries, lithium–sulfur batteries, and lithium–oxygen batteries. This review mainly focuses on the boosting of electrochemical performance of LBs by rational dimensional design and porous tailoring of advanced carbon‐based nanomaterials. Particular attention is also paid to integrating active materials into the carbon‐based nanomaterials, and the structure–performance relationship is also systematically discussed. The developmental trends and critical challenges in related fields are summarized, which may inspire more ideas for the design of advanced carbon‐based nanostructures with superior properties.  相似文献

A sural veno-neuro-fasciocutaneous flap in the New Zealand White rabbit was developed, and the role of the large subcutaneous lesser saphenous vein was investigated in proximally based versus distally based flaps. Retrograde dye injection showed that the lesser saphenous vein in rabbits has many valves with strong resistance against reflux. Twenty rabbits were randomly allocated into four groups of 10 flaps each. Group I consisted of proximally based flaps with the lesser saphenous vein intact (outflow) in the veno-neuro-adipofascial pedicle. Group II also consisted of proximally based flaps but the lesser saphenous vein was ligated at 1 cm proximal to the pedicle. Group III consisted of distally based flaps with the lesser saphenous vein intact (inflow) in the veno-neuro-adipofascial pedicle. Group IV also consisted of distally based flaps, but the lesser saphenous vein was ligated at 1 cm distal to the pedicle. The results showed that the mean flap survival area in group I (88.8 percent) was statistically higher than that in group II (62.6 percent, p < 0.001), and was higher in group IV (55.5 percent) than in group III (22.7 percent, p < 0.01). However, group II and group IV had no significant difference (p > 0.05). This experiment demonstrated that flap viability is determined by its intrinsic vascularization, both arterial and venous. The large superficial subcutaneous vein has a positive role (venous outflow) in proximally based flaps but a negative role (venous inflow) in distally based flaps. If the effect of the large subcutaneous vein is excluded, distally based flaps are not inherently inferior to proximally based flaps.  相似文献

以40个大蒜品种为供试材料,依据数值分类学的性状选择原则,分别于大蒜生长期和采收后进行农艺性状指标的采集。估算40个大蒜品种16个农艺性状及4个品质指标的主成分,并以前3个主成分和遗传相似性系数为基础,分别作二维散点图和系统聚类分析。40份大蒜品种前7个主成分累计贡献率达85%。根据品种性状主成分表现,评选出性状优良的大蒜品种共10个。在聚类图中,在0.14的遗传相似性水平上可以把40份品种分成4类,即由5份种质组成的类群Ⅰ;由28份种质聚成的类群Ⅱ;由改良蒜等4份种质组成的类群Ⅲ,及苏联蒜等3份种质组成的类群Ⅳ。全部种质的遗传相似性系数在0.07~0.64之间,很好地揭示了品种类群间存在的亲缘关系。  相似文献
