Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three small indigenous fish species from the lower Brahmaputra in Assam, India: Glyptothorax telchitta, Nangra assamensis, and Gudusia chapra were studied on a monthly basis from February 2015 to January 2016. Various fishing gear types were employed: cast nets (9′ ½”), gillnets (30 × 0.9 m, 0.5″; 60 × 3 m, 1.5″) and mosquito nets (20 × 6 m, 0.04″). No previous reference is available on LWR data for two of these species.  相似文献

Length‐Weight relationships (LWRs) for three Cyprinids (Chela cachius, Devario devario and Securicula gora) collected seasonally from May 2016 to January 2017 along the lower Brahmaputra drainage in Assam (Northeast India), using fishing gears [cast nets: 2.5 m, 10–15 mm mesh size; gillnets: 30 × 0.9 m, 18–20 mm mesh size], were estimated. The ‘b’ values of the LWR estimates ranged from 3.39 for C.  cachius, 3.14 for D.  devario, and 2.97 for S.  gora respectively.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) for four fish species from the River Ganga (India) is presented. Sampling was conducted in the lower stretch of the river (Buxar: 25°33′43.90″N and 83°56′3.10″E to Freserganj: 21°35′40.58″N and 88°15′28.92″E) on tri‐monthly basis from September 2016 to December 2017. Specimens were caught in gill nets (mesh, 18–68 mm), cast nets (mesh, 12–14 mm), seine nets (mesh, 12–14 mm) and various traditional traps those were put over night and lifted in early morning. Total length and wet body weight of fish were measured to the nearest 0.1 cm and 0.01 g by a digital caliper and electronic balance respectively. From LWRs, the estimated b values were found to be 2.88 (Pisodonophis boro) to 3.17 (Gagata sexualis) whereas a value ranged from 0.001 (Pisodonophis boro) to 0.009 (Botia lohachata). As per FishBase, the species Gagata sexualis and Botia lohachata had new TLmax reported for LWR estimation.  相似文献

This study provides the length–weight relationships (LWRs) for four fish species [Leptobotia rubrilabris (Dabry de Thiersant, 1872); Opsariichthys bidens Günther, 1873; Xenocypris yunnanensis Nichols, 1925; and Sinogastromyzon sichangensis Chang, 1944] collected from the Niulan River, China. Samples were obtained between April 2008 and June 2011 using various types of fishing gear [drift gill nets (mesh: 5 × 5 cm), hook and electro fishing]. A total of 136 specimens belonging to four fish species were analyzed. For each species the sample size, length range, weight range, LWR, 95% confidence intervals of a and b, and coefficient of correlation were determined. Prior to this study, the LWRs for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis were unknown. New maximum sizes for S. sichangensis and X. yunnanensis are also provided.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for four fish species (Akrokolioplax bicornis [Wu, 1977], Barbodes wynaadensis [Day, 1873], Glyptothorax cavia [Hamilton, 1822] and Placocheilus cryptonemus [Cui & Li, 1984]) from the Nujiang River, China. Samples were collected from March 2008 to August 2016 (frequency of sampling during the study period: once per year), using various fishing gears (set nets [mesh: 1.5 cm × 2.0 cm], fish cages [0.5 cm mesh], hook, drift gill nets [mesh: 1.0 cm × 2.0 cm × 3.0 cm] and electro fishing). Length–weight relationships (LWRs) and length–length relationships (LLRs) of two endemic Channid fish species, Channa aurantimaculata Musikasinthorn, 2000 and C. stewartii (Playfair, 1867) were studied from Brahmaputra River basin in Assam, India. Sampling was done from May to December, 2017 and a total of 81 fish specimens were collected using bamboo traps. In the LWRs, b value for C. aurantimaculata and C. stewartii were 3.0456 and 2.9172 respectively. Maximum size recorded for C. aurantimaculata in the present study (34.1 cm) was higher than previous record in FishBase (19.1 cm).  相似文献

This study reports the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of four small indigenous species, Trichogaster lalius (Hamilton, 1822), Nandus meni (Hossain & Sarker, 2013), Lepidocephalichthys annandalei (Chaudhuri, 1912) and Botia dario (Hamilton, 1822) collected between July 2015 and August 2016 from fishermen's catches landed in an inland fish landing center, northeastern Bangladesh. In the study, a new maximum total length (TL) is given for L. annandalei and LWRs of three species T. lalius, N. meni and L. annandalei for the first time in FishBase. Estimated LWRs were W = .014 TL3.17, (r2 = .982) for T. lalius, W = .006 TL3.38, (r2 = .961) for N. meni, W = .004 TL3.27, (r2 = .965) for L. annandalei and W = .020 TL2.87, (r2 = .978) for B. dario.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) are presented for four endemic fish species caught in the upper Yalu River during the yearly surveys (2017) by either electrofishing or fish cage net (5 mm mesh size) as soon as the ice melted. The parameter b ranged between 2.244 in Gobio macrocephalus and 3.428 in Ladislavia taczanowskii. Additionally, the parameter a ranged between 0.004 in Misgurnus bipartitus and 0.059 in Gobio macrocephalus. All length‐weight relationships were highly significant (r2 ≥ 0.8754) on a log scale.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for 4 deep water fish species from Visakhapatnam coast, India. Specimens were collected fortnightly between December 2013 and November 2015 from commercial trawls at Visakhapatnam fish landing centre (16.98°N–20.2°N, Long.82.19°–86.53°E). Individuals were captured between 100 and 300 m depth with shrimp trawl net (head rope length: 37–46 m and cod end mesh size: 30–40 mm). Total length (TL) (nearest to 0.1 cm) and body weights (nearest to 0.1 g) were taken each individual. All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.958 for Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843 to 0.983 for Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and “b” values ranged from 2.832 for U. bicinctus to 3. 402 Synodus indicus (Day, 1873).This study provides a new maximum length data for three species (Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843; Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and Uranoscopus marmoratus Cuvier, 1829).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships for six small indigenous fish species, namely: Trichogaster chuna (Hamilton, 1822), Trichogaster lalius (Hamilton, 1822), Trichogaster fasciata Bloch & Schneider, 1801, Chanda nama Hamilton, 1822, Parambassis lala (Hamilton, 1822), and Macrognathus aral (Bloch & Schneider, 1801) were studied for the first time from Deepor beel, a Ramsar site (589 ha water spread area) located in Assam, India. A total of 617 fish specimens were collected for the present study on a monthly basis from February to August in 2016 from landing centres adjoining the beel. In the present study, b value ranges from 2.778 to 3.215, which is within the normal range. The LWRs for these six fish species from Deepor beel had not yet been reported for FishBase.  相似文献

The length‐weight relationships of four indigenous freshwater fishes Parambassis lala (Hamilton, 1822), Trichogaster lalius (Hamilton, 1822), Puntius terio (Hamilton, 1822), and Pethia phutunio (Hamilton, 1822) were determined. Fish samples were collected during December 2013 to May 2015 from Khalsi, a floodplain wetland along the tributary of the River Ganges in West Bengal state, India using different types of gear (castnets, gillnets and drag nets, stretched mesh sizes of 15–20 mm, 20–30 mm and 5–10 mm, respectively). The length–weight relationship was W = 0.01123L3.355 for Cirrhinus mrigala, W = 0.07354L3.299 for Catla catla, W = 0.04066L3.313 for Labeo rohita and W = 0.11489L2.732 for Labeo fimbriatus. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for seven riverine fish species from the river Ganga, India. Specimens were collected on a bi‐monthly basis from April 2017 to December 2018 using gill nets (mesh size 22–34 mm), cast nets (mesh size 16 mm) and bag nets (mesh size 14–22 mm). Total length was measured to the nearest 0.1 cm using a digital caliper and weight was recorded to the nearest 0.01 g on an electronic balance. From estimated length–weight relationships, the values for parameter “a” ranged from 0.004 (Bregmaceros mcclellandi and Setipinna tenuifilis) to 0.014 (Brachirus pan). Likewise, the values for the parameter “b” of the equation ranged from 2.958 (Bagarius bagarius) to 3.124 (Bregmaceros mcclellandi) and r2 from 0.978 (Gonialosa manmina) to 0.996 (Brachirus pan).  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three fish species, Psiloryhnchus homaloptera Hora & Mukherji, 1935, Pseudecheneis sulcata (McClelland, 1842) and Devario aequipinnatus (McClelland, 1839), from the Kameng River in Arunachal Pradesh, India were estimated from August 2016 to October 2017. Fishes were collected seasonally using cast nets (2.5 m, 1.2 cm) and electrofishing device (Safari Surveyor, 12 V 7 amp). The b values in the LWRs were determined as 2.98, 2.93 and 2.72 for P. homaloptera, P. sulcata and D. aequipinnatus respectively. All fish sample were collected using gillnets (15 × 5 m, mesh‐size 5 mm) from Moyangjiang River, China. Samples were collected quarterly from July 2006 to August 2007.
