A survey of consultant attitudes to psychiatry in six general hospitals is presented and compared with reported findings in general practitioners and medical students.Psychological factors were accepted as important in a variety of medical conditions. Different specialties differed little in their attitudes to neurotic patients and to psychiatrists, younger consultants tending to be more critical. Consultants had a lower level of neuroticism than the general population and medical students, and physicians were less extraverted than surgeons; these personality factors were not related to expressed attitudes.The results suggest that other specialties accept the role of psychiatry, and its integration into the general hospital is not likely to meet with antagonism.  相似文献

The interest of 1900 Canadian medical students in the various fields of medical practice was measured by a questionnaire. The students were asked to rank the various fields in order of their interest in them. It was found that general practice, internal medicine and surgery were the fields which consistently captured most interest among the students. Few students ranked dermatology, administration, teaching and research in the first three ranks.Striking differences in the interest preferences of male and female students were demonstrated, with the women ranking pediatrics and psychiatry higher than the men. Significantly more men, however, expressed a prime interest in surgery.Interest in general practice increases with the senior years in medical school, but it was shown that this increase is associated with marital status and with the number of children rather than with the year of training alone.Interest in the fields of medical practice varied between medical schools, with general practice ranking highest at British Columbia and relatively low at McGill and Manitoba. Significant differences between the students of the schools were displayed in the case of neurology, obstetrics, pediatrics and psychiatry.  相似文献

目的:探索提高五年制临床医学生的细胞生物学双语教学成效的方法.方法:对2010级五年制临床医学专业学生开展双语教学后进行问卷调查,分析双语教学的有效教学方法及其影响因素,调整教学方式后对2011级学生继续开展,比较两轮双语教学的教学效果和满意度.结果:通过教学多环节上的优化,学生的学习兴趣有大幅提升,学习能力和知识掌握度也有进步,学生对《细胞生物学》双语教学满意度提高.结论:在教学前制定目标、选择适合的学生和教材,课上提高讲课技巧,课后拓展阅读,改善考核方式等方式有助于提升学生的学习兴趣,培养学习能力和强化知识掌握,提高对《细胞生物学》双语教学满意度.  相似文献

There has been widespread interest in the effect the Medicare law has had on the level of physicians'' charges. This subject and other aspects of the present Medicare method of physician reimbursement is currently under study by Congress and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. A group of Medicare patients recently seen and treated by the author were queried as to their experiences in paying for physicians'' services under Medicare. A 64 percent response rate and the substance of the replies to a questionnaire suggests that this is a feasible mechanism for eliciting the attitudes and problems in a group of patients in the Medicare program.  相似文献
