The influence of the Ob River runoff in its lower reaches on the radial growth of main forest-forming tree species-the Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.), Siberian stone pine (Pinus sibirica Du Tour.), and larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.)-was studied in the north of Western Siberia in various test sites both at the riverside and at a distance of 3 to 80 km from the Ob River floodplain. Differences in responses of the radial growth to air temperature in October and repeated frost damage of tree annual rings are observed in the Siberian spruce and Siberian stone pine depending on the distance from the river. The correlations of the radial growth of trees and frost damage with the effect of the Ob River runoff are discussed.  相似文献

Callus cultures of Siberian larch (Larix sibiricaLedeb.) and Siberian spruce (Picea obovataLedeb.) were used to demonstrate the elicitor activity of two ophiostomatoid fungal species, Ceratocystis laricicolaand Ceratocystis polonica, as the pioneer settlers on larch and spruce, respectively. The extract from C. laricicolamycelium stimulated the accumulation of lignin in larch cells by 37% and that of bound proanthocyanidins by 25%. In spruce callus cultures, C. laricicolaand C. polonicaincreased the bound PA content by 25 and 46%, respectively. In the callus cultures of larch and spruce, the addition of extract of C. laricicolaincreased the concentration of p-hydroxybenzoic acid 13-fold and nearly 4-fold, respectively. The metabolic characteristics of accumulation of phenolic compounds in conifer cells are discussed.  相似文献

A distribution of extractive substances by height on the trunk and radius of the wood of the Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) was investigated. The maximum flavonoid content in terms of dihydroquercetin (the main flavonoid of the larch wood) was shown to be in the butt part of the tree. In the radial direction, this parameter increased from the center to periphery of the heartwood and reached the maximum value at the sapwood boundary. The maximum content of arabinogalactan (AG) was observed in the bottom and in the top of the trunk. The distribution of the extractive substances was studied in roots of the Siberian larch for the first time.  相似文献

Tree core samples of larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.), spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) and pine (Pinus sibirica Du-Tour.) from the northern taiga of West Siberia were collected to assess their potential for summer temperature reconstructions in the Ob River region. Bootstrapped response functions showed that annual growth was mainly influenced by May to June temperatures in pine and by June to July temperatures in spruce and larch. Spruce and pine chronologies showed high positive correlations with previous October temperature. June–July temperatures were reconstructed based on spruce (1795–1996) and larch (1615–1999) tree ring chronologies. The pine chronology could not be used for a reliable temperature reconstruction, due to low values of explained May–June temperature variance (11–15%) but the species has a high potential to help clarify the May–June and October climatic influence on ring width observed in all three species. We explained the effect of the early vegetation period (May–July) and the differences in the temperature signals between spruce and larch tree ring chronologies with the influence of previous September and October temperature on tree growth with the warming effect of the Ob River and differences of the species’ photosynthetic possibilities and the activity of chloroplasts and bud meristem tissues.  相似文献

Quantitative and qualitative characteristics of cones and seeds and the emergence and survival of seedlings in the Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) have been studied in different parts of the ecotone at the upper boundary of arboreal vegetation (treeline ecotone) on Serebryanskii Kamen’ Mountain (Northern Urals) and on the hills (with a landmark 312 m above sea level) surrounding Chernaya Mountain (Polar Urals) from 2005 to 2011. We have found a decrease in the parameters of cones, number of seeds in the cones, their viability in laboratory with an increase in altitude, and differences in the number of seedlings between parts of the treeline ecotone. It is shown that the formation of Siberian larch generations on the Northern Urals occurs only after moist years. It is noted that, in the Polar Urals, Siberian larch produces a big seed crop every 2–3 years. It is proven that the seed production and mortality of seedlings in Siberian larch are influenced not only by air temperature and soil moisture, but also by wind load, snow depth, and soil temperature rapidly changing along the slope.  相似文献

The elicitor activity of compounds extracted from the mycelia of six species of phytopathogenic fungi was assessed from the sizes of necrotic lesions on the external surface of the living trunk phloem of five coniferous species inhabiting Siberia: Siberian larch (Larix sibirica L.), Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.), Siberian fir (Abies sibirica L.), and cedar pine (Pinus sibirica (Rupr.) Mayr.). The compounds for inoculation were extracted from the mycelium of ascomycetes imperfect, and basidium fungi; the living mycelia of these fungi were also used. The fungal extract or mycelium was placed into the hollows 7 mm in diameter in the trunk bark. Infection triggered the formation of hypersensitivity necrotic lesions in the inner bark exceeding in size those appeared after control wounding of four tree species (larch, pine, spruce, and cedar); fir was an exclusion. In experiments with tree trunks and conifer calluses, a dependence of immune response parameters (the sizes of necrotic lesions and the content of lignin and bound proanthocyanidins) on the quantity of the fungal preparation was elucidated. The largest necrotic lesions appeared after injection of 500μg of the fungal preparation into the hollow in the trunk, and its higher quantities did not increase the indices measured. The size of the necrotic lesion on the trunk bark is supposed to be used as a promising index characterizing the level of tree immunity and tolerance under various ecological conditions.  相似文献

This study addressed distribution of calcium and strontium in Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) and Siberian fir (Abies sibirica Ledeb.) tree-rings and its dependence on these woody species cell structure. Calcium concentration was found to decrease gradually from earlywood to latewood, whereas strontium showed an opposite trend. However, their trends at the scale of several rings are co-directed in the samples analyzed. A strong linear relationship was identified between the distribution of Sr/Ca concentration ratio and tree-ring density profile for both woody species. Radiographic density of Siberian spruce tree-ring cell walls and Ca and Sr concentrations in them were determined to have negative correlation with cell wall thickness. In earlywood of annual rings of a spruce the radiographic density of cell wall reaches 2.0 g/cm3 and decreases to 1.2 g/cm3 in latewood. The hypothesis put forward in this study to explain these strontium and calcium distributions in the tree-rings is that the concentrations of the element ions change with development of different cell wall layers. The high value of radiographic density of a cellular wall in earlywood and its relationship with cell wall thickness can be explained by the presence of ions of calcium in a cellular wall. Ions of calcium absorb X-ray radiation more strongly in comparison with light chemical elements. It can become the reason of observable relationship between radiographic density of cell wall and cell wall thickness.  相似文献

The paper presents results of the investigation of phenolic compounds of the bark of the Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) and the Dahurian larch (Larix gmelini (Rupr.) Rupr). The flavonoids, stilbenes, phenolic acids have been identified on the basis of chemical, chromatographic and spectral data. Quercetin-3-O-??-L-rhamnopyranoside has been found for the first time in the bark of the Larix genus. Phenolic compounds with pyrocatechol type of substitution of aromatic ring have been found to dominate in the phloem of the larch species considered.  相似文献

Chromosomal mutations were studied in the Norilsk population of Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) growing at the northeastern boundary of the species range affected by airborne smelter emissions. Different types of frequent chromosomal mutations have been revealed in the Norilsk population of L. sibirica and B-chromosomes have been found in this species for the first time.  相似文献

Peculiarities of forming and growth of post-fire larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) forests at the southern range of their distribution in the Northern Mongolia were studied. Regularities of the stand structure and dynamics of biological productivity are analyzed and discussed in the paper. It has been proved that the structure of the organic mass of the post-fire herb-carex type larch tree stands at the southern border of forest vegetation distribution is closely related to their biometric indices as-age, density, and productivity. In comparison with tree stands from the other areas of forest vegetation, the total phytomass stock of larch phytocenoses appropriately increases by zonal gradient from forest-tundra border to the Transbaikalian southern taiga and northern regions of Mongolia. Regeneration of forest cover by edificator and formation of the original larch coenopopulation is a positive trend from an environmental point of view, because the Siberian larch in young and middle-age period in the area has a sufficiently high growth energy and rate of phytomass production, with more than twice exceeding mature forests in fixed carbon of the atmosphere and has positive values of carbon balance and total destruction of organic matter by the “input-output” parameters.  相似文献

Invasive populations of small spruce bark beetle Ips amitinus were first registered in 2019 in the southeast of Western Siberia. In natural stands of Siberian pine (Pinus sibirica Du Tour), several hundred hectares of outbreak foci of the alien bark beetle were identified. In 2020, a local focus of the bark beetle was found in the conifer collection in the arboretum “Kedr” of the Institute of Monitoring Climatic and Ecological Systems SB RAS, 30 km from Tomsk. The bark beetle caused the main damage to the collection of pines. I. amitinus colonized both host plants Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and mountain pine (Pinus mugo Turra), which were previously known to it in the native range in Europe, and the local Siberian species Siberian pine (Pinus sibirica Du Tour), Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) and introduced Far Eastern Korean pine (Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc.). Demographic characteristics of I. amitinus studied on damaged trees indicate its high reproduction potential in Siberia. The bark beetle outbreak focus was suppressed; however, this plantation requires further annual monitoring of pest abundance and distribution, both to preserve the scientific dendroecological field station and to study the implementation of sential plant conception in relation to the invasion of I. amitinus.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to obtain a genetically stable haploid in vitro-derived line from Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) using megagametophyte explants, which then could be used for different molecular genetic studies, including whole genome de novo sequencing. However, cytogenetic analysis and genotyping of 11 microsatellite loci showed high levels of genomic instability and a high frequency of mutation in the obtained megagametophyte-derived callus cultures. All cultures contained new mutations in one or more microsatellite loci.  相似文献

The influence of optimal and contrasting temperatures on the fractional composition of proteins and respiration of germinating seeds of Gmelin larch (Larix gmelinii (Rupr.) Rupr.) and Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) was revealed. The dominance of globulins (salt-soluble fraction) and insoluble proteins was noted in viable air-dry seeds of larch. Optimal and contrasting temperatures of germination of seeds caused significant changes in the content and dynamics of separate fractions of protein, the contrasting temperatures causing greater changes: increasing in the content of insoluble proteins, intense consumption of globulins at separate stages of germination. Respiration of the seeds during germination at contrasting temperatures also increased more than at an optimal temperature. Thermal regime of germination affected the character of relations between the respiration rate and contents of different protein fractions.  相似文献

Seasonal growth, dynamics of morphological and anatomical structure, and sugar content in ectomycorrhizal roots of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) were studied. A variability of the root tip structure related to variations in hydrothermal conditions in soils of spruce phytocenoses was observed. A high content of mono- and disaccharides was detected in root tips in the beginning and end of the growth season. Changes in the growth pattern of spruce mycorrhizal roots were associated with changes in the sugar concentration in them, the thickness and volume of the mycelium sheath, and respiration.  相似文献

The variability of 21 allozyme and three microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA (cpDNA) was studied in the populations of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) from Irkutsk oblast, Magadan oblast, Buryatia, and Mongolia. It was demonstrated that the highest level of genetic diversity among the examined populations at both allozyme and microsatellite loci was observed in the Tulyushka population from Irkutsk oblast. The lowest level of genetic diversity was observed in marginal isolated populations of Bogd Uul and Magadan. In the relict spruce population from Olkhon Island, differing from the other populations in the lowest allelic diversity of both types of markers, no expected decline of expected heterozygosity and haplotype diversity was observed. In this population, the variability parameters mentioned were close to the population mean. The obtained intrapopulation and intraspecific variability parameters of allozyme and microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA and the data on the population differentiation at these loci indicate that the given markers can be used for the analysis of the population structure of Siberian spruce.  相似文献

The results of the study of 21 populations of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) from different parts of the species natural range by microsatellite (SSR) analysis of nuclear DNA are presented. Using nine loci developed for Picea abies (L.) Karst. and Picea glauca (Moench) Voss and detecting variation in Picea obovata, the parameters of intra- and interpopulation genetic diversity, as well as the degree of population differentiation, were determined. It was demonstrated that the population of Siberian spruce in the study was characterized by a relatively high average level of intrapopulation variability (Ho = 0.408; He = 0.423) and low interpopulation differentiation (Fst = 0.048, P = 0.001) at this class of DNA markers. The genetic distance between populations ranged from 0.009 to 0.167, averaging 0.039. The isolated Magadan population, located in the extreme Northeast of Russia at a considerable distance from the main species range and characterized by the lowest genetic diversity among the studied populations, was maximally differentiated from the rest of the spruce populations. In addition, the steppe Ubukun population from Buryatia and the population from the Bogd Khan Uul Biosphere Reserve, Mongolia, were considerably different in the genetic structure from most populations of Siberian spruce, although to a lesser extent than the Magadan population. These findings are consistent with the results of previous studies of this species carried out using allozyme and microsatellite loci of chloroplast DNA and point to the prospects of using nuclear microsatellites as DNA markers to analyze the population genetic structure of Siberian spruce.  相似文献

Fatty acid (FA) composition of total lipids in embryogenic and nonembryogenic calli of Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) was investigated by the method of GC-MS. We detected a high content of oleic acid in total lipids of embryogenic cell culture (32–56% by weight of total FA), which apparently depends on a high activity of acyl carrier protein (stearoyl-ACP-Δ9-desat-urase). At the same time, activity of Δ12-desaturase in the cells of embryogenic calli was considerably (2–3 times) lower than in nonembryogenic calli. We discuss a possibility that concentration of FA (oleic and linoleic acids) may be used as a marker of embryogenic potential when promising cell lines of Siberian larch are screened in the stage of early embryogenesis.  相似文献

Based on the analysis of 22 loci controlling allozyme variation of MDH, SKDH, 6-PGD, IDH, PEPCA, GOT, FDH, LAP, PGI, PGM, SOD, and GDH, the data on within-and among-population variation for nine cenopopulations of Siberian spruce (Picea obovata Ledeb.) located along the Yenisei mieridian, from 65°50′ NL to 52°14′NL, were obtained. It was demonstrated that 86.36% of the loci, tested in the species analyzed, were polymorphic. The mean number of alleles per locus was 2.91, and the observed and expected heterozygosity constituted 0.161 and 0.168, respectively. More than 97% of total variation occurred within the populations, while the proportion of the among-population variation constituted only 2.3% (F st =0.0230). Genetic distance (D N) between the populations examined varied from 0.0019 to 0.0115, averaging at 0.0051. It was shown that in the part of the Siberian spruce range examined there was no close association between the level of the genetic differentiation of the populations and the geographic distance between them. It seems likely, that this finding can be associated with the fact that Siberian spruce, growing on this territory, is the intrazonal species, i.e., it is not attached to a certain forest zone, and its distribution is mostly determined by local ecological conditions.  相似文献

The dynamics of damage and litter of the needles of pine Pinus sylvestris (L.) and spruce Picea obovata Ledeb. × P. abies (L.) Karst. in the basin of the Northern Dvina under atmospheric pollution was studied. Correlations of morphometric parameters of the assimilation apparatus with the distance to the source of emissions and concentrations of pollutants in the air, snow, and soil and heavy metals in needles were revealed.  相似文献
