Anopheles (Nyssorhynchus) lanei Galv?o and Amaral is here redescribed using morphological characteristics of adult, male and female, fourth instar larva and pupa. The larva, pupa, and male genitalia are illustrated. Diagnostic morphological characters of adults, male genitalia, fourth instar larva and pupa are provided to distinguish An. lanei from other species of the Argyritarsis section. Species distribution data are based on the published literature records and bionomics data are based on both literature records and field data.  相似文献

Species 6 of the Australasian Anopheles farauti sibling species complex (Diptera: Culicidae) is described and formally named Anopheles oreios Bangs & Harbach, sp. n. Adult, pupal and fourth‐instar larval specimens collected in the Baliem Valley, Papua Province, Indonesia, are characterized and compared with those of Anopheles farauti, Anopheles hinesorum, Anopheles irenicus and Anopheles torresiensis (formerly informally denoted as species 1, 2, 7 and 3, respectively). The variable wings of adult females, the male genitalia, the pupa and the fourth‐instar larva of An. oreios are illustrated and DNA sequence data are included for regions coding for sections of the mitochondrial COI and COII genes. The biology of An. oreios and its relation to malaria transmission are discussed in detail and contrasted with the biology and disease relations of some members of the An. farauti and Anopheles punctulatus sibling species complexes.  相似文献

Egg, larva, and pupa of Gamelia anableps (C. Felder & R. Felder, 1874) are described for the first time and the chaetotaxy of the first instar provided. Eggs and selected structures of larvae and pupae were also investigated by means of scanning electron microscopy. Eggs are laid in clusters, are ellipsoidal and laterally flat. Larvae passed through eight instars in about 78 days. Pupation occurs inside a poorly organized cocoon of yellowish silk. The dark brown pupa is cylindrical in shape with appendages firmly fused together and to the body wall. The chaeotaxy is compared with other Saturniidae species belongining to Hemileucinae, Ceratocampinae, and Saturniinae and the natural history of G. anableps compared with other Saturniidae.  相似文献

比较了棉铃虫Helicoverpa armigera 6龄幼虫、蛹、成虫微粒体P450单加氧酶系组成及其活性。P450含量在6龄幼虫中肠>(脂肪体=蛹)>成虫,NADPH-细胞色素还原酶在幼虫中肠>幼虫脂肪体>蛹>成虫;6龄幼虫脂肪体微粒体与蛹脂肪体微粒体P450含量相近,但NADPH-细胞色素还原酶活性前者是后者的4.2倍;成虫微粒体的细胞色素P450和NADPH细胞色素P450还原酶含量很低,几乎未检测出。用对-硝基苯甲醚和艾氏剂为底物测定P450酶系活性表明,与6龄幼虫相比,蛹和成虫具有极低的单加氧酶活性,其O-脱甲基酶活性未检出,艾氏剂环氧化酶活性比幼虫低2~3个数量级。  相似文献

The preimaginal stages of the Neotropical species E. (M.) lampros Knisch, and Enochrus (H.) tremolerasi Knisch, are described and illustrated for the first time. They are compared to the immatures of the Neotropical species E. (M.) vulgaris (Steinheil) and E. (Hugoscottia) scutellaris (Bruch), the Nearctic E. (M.) fimbriatus (Melsheimer) and E. The last-instar larva, pupa, male and female of Simulium virescens sp. nov. are described and illustrated. This species has a peculiar larva, which has an elongated head capsule and light-green colour. The first thoracic segment has tubercle on its dorsal region and the third thoracic segment has one pair of tubercles; the first to the fourth abdominal segments have one pair of tubercles on each segment. Until now this new species had only been collected at the type locality, which is on the middle stretch of the Correntina River in the southwestern portion of the state of Bahia, Brazil. Females were voraciously biting humans during the field work. This new species represents the second species of Simulium (Psilopelmia) in Brazil and the first registered outside of the Brazilian Amazon Region.  相似文献

The yellow ladybeetle, Illeis koebelei Timberlake, is a potential biological agent for powdery mildew. The objective of this study was to construct development and oviposition models of I. koebelei. Development experiment was conducted at eight temperatures ranging from 15.4 to 39.5?°C. Development rates were well fitted with linear and nonlinear models. Lower developmental thresholds for egg, first instar, second instar, third instar, and fourth instar larva, pre-pupa, pupa, and total immature stage were estimated to be 3.6, 12.7, 12.1, 11.3, 11.3, 12.8, 14.7, and 14.2?°C, respectively. Their respective thermal requirements in degree days (DD) were 86.6, 16.0, 22.5, 30.2, 49.3, 14.5, 43.8 and 217.4, respectively. Survivorship was the highest at 25.1?°C for immatures. Oviposition experiment was conducted at nine temperatures, ranging from 15.4 to 35.3?°C. Mean fecundity ranged from 18.6 eggs at 29.3?°C to 205.3 eggs at 20.3?°C. It was well described by extreme value function. Adult survival and cumulative oviposition rates of I. koebelei were fitted to a sigmoid function and a two-parameter Weibull function, respectively. Findings of this study provide basic information for ecology of I. koebelei. They can be used to optimize environmental conditions for mass-rearing and shipping, comparing optimal occurrence conditions between I. koebelei and powdery mildew, and forecasting phenology and population dynamics of I. koebelei in the fields.  相似文献

. Leucoptera psophocarpella sp.n., a minute lyonetiid moth (wing-span ±4 mm) whose larvae damage the leaves of winged-bean ( Psophocarpus tetragonolobus DC.) (Leguminosae) in Papua New Guinea, is described from the adult, larva and pupa. This species is known locally as the 'winged-bean blotch miner' because of the characteristic damage caused by the larvae. Histochemical details of the fat body in the fifth instar larval stage, pupa and adult moth of the castor semilooperAchaea janata were elucidated in detail using light and electron microscopy in conjunction with glycogen storage patterns using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The periodic-acid Schiff staining for glycogen in fat body was maximum in the spinning stage of the larva, when compared to the feeding stage and prepupal stages, and higher in the pupa than in the larva and the adult moth. In insulin injected and juvenile hormone treated fat body, glycogen deposition was more than in glucagon injected tissues. The periodic-acid Schiff stained bands in PAGE had electrophoretic mobility similar to the corresponding protein band numbers, indicating their glycoprotein nature.  相似文献

Gadirtha fusca sp. n., is described from Guangxi Province, China. Gadirtha fusca differs in forewing color and pattern, male and female genitalia, and in larval pattern from all other species of Gadirtha. Gadirtha fusca has been evaluated as a potential biological control agent for Chinese tallow (Triadica sebifera (L.) Small, Euphorbiaceae) in the southeastern United States. Abstract  Indoor experiments were conducted to test the influence of extreme high temperature (EHT) on the biology of Liriomyza sativae Blanchard. The LD50 of EHT on egg, first instar larva, second instar larva, third instar larva, pupa and adult were 51. 4, 51, 1, 52, 2, 53, 5, 41.1 and 43. 9 C, respectively. The mortality of each stage increased with the prolongation of duration (in hours) of EHT. The quadratic regression equations gave a good estimate of the mortality of the leafminer influenced by durations of EHTs. Under 40 C and a duration of 3 h, there were linear relations between the duration (in days) of EHTs and the pupal mortality, as well as the adult longevity and fecundity.  相似文献
