Rojas and E. solomonii A. Rojas. Three species are combined, this are: Elaphoglossum beitelii (Mickel) A. Rojas, E. curvans (Kunze) A. Rojas and E. eutecnum (Mickel) A. Rojas. Six new species of Pteridophyta from Costa Rica are described: Dryopteris flaccisquama A. Rojas, Hypolepis lellingeri A. Rojas, H. moraniana A. Rojas, Melpomene alan-smithii A. Rojas, Selaginella osa?nsis A. Rojas and Terpsichore esquiveliana A. Rojas. Blechnum stoloniferum (Mett. ex E. Fourn.) C. Chr. and Trichomanes micayense Hieron. are new records for the country. We performed a phylogenetic analysis of the fern genus Elaphoglossum using two non-coding chloroplast spacers: trnL-trnF and rps4-trnS. The sampling includes 123 species, of which 80 have not been previously sequenced, and for the first time includes species from Africa and the Indian Ocean area. The results of this expanded study largely agree with an earlier molecular study based on a smaller group of neotropical species and with the morphology-based classification of Mickel and Atehortua. We found, however, that some infrageneric groups such as section Elaphoglossum are not monophyletic. Besides section Elaphoglossum pro parte, we recognize six sections: two new monospecific, unnamed sections, and the previously established sections Lepidoglossa, Squamipedia, Amygdalifolia, and "Subulate-scaled clade." We divide the subulate-scaled clade into subsection Setosa (hydathodes present) and Polytrichia (hydathodes absent), and section Elaphoglossum is divided into subsections Platyglossa and Pachyglossa, two groups that do not appear to be supported by any single morphological character. In general, however, the main clades are supported by morphology. Finally, we discuss the species of the Indian Ocean region and their affinities with the neotropical ones. Out of the 11 species pairs postulated by Moran and Smith on the basis of morphology, two are well supported (E. eximium-E. aubertii; E. piloselloides-E. spatulatum) and three are not supported (E. ciliatum-E. humbertii; E. muscosum-E. poolii; E. paleaceum-E. deckenii), and two remain unresolved (E. erinaceum-E. hybridum; E. glabellum-E. acrostichoides) because our molecular markers were not variable enough. Four species pairs could not be tested because specimens were lacking. Unsupported species pairs are best interpreted as morphological convergences. Two additional species pairs are proposed: E. cuspidatum-E. succisaefolium; E. doanense-E. hornei. Placement of the species from the Indian Ocean suggests that at least 13 long-distance dispersal events occurred between the Neotropics and the Indian Ocean-Africa.  相似文献

All species of the subgenus Quedionuchus Shp. of the genus Quedius Steph. (Staphylinidae), known to occur at present in Central America are treated. A key is given. Seven species are described as new: Q. ollin (Mexico), tecpatl (Mexico), cipactli (Guatemala), xochitl (Mexico), ehecatl (Mexico), calli (Mexico) and coatl (Mexico). Lectotypes are designated for the following 4 species: nigerrimus (Shp.), angustus (Shp.), femoralis (Shp.) and spinipes (Shp.). ABSTRACT.
The classification of Cupes Fabricius (s.lat.) is discussed. Details of previously proposed species groupings are expanded and supported by characters of the male genitalia. In addition to Cupes (s.s.) five new genera (Tenomerga, Distocupes, Adinolepis, Ascioplaga and Rhipsideigma) are established and the total number of species is raised to twenty-four of which seven are new: Tenotnerga trabecula, T.kapnodes, T.favella, Adinolepis scalena, Ascioplaga mimeta, A.sciasma and Rhipsideigma adjuncta. The known distribution is extended and now includes the NE of North America, E and S Africa including Madagascar, E Asia, E Australia, Borneo, New Guinea, New Caledonia and the Hawaiian Islands. Dennstaedtia gracilis A. Rojas et Tejero (Dennstaedtiaceae) is herein described and illustrated as a new species endemic to Mexico. Its belongs to the group of winged adaxial secondary costae species but it differs by the combination of characters as smaller fronds, deltate pinnules and lobed segment apex.  相似文献

The subgenus Epicterodes Wehrli, 1933 of Arichanna Moore, 1868 is reviewed. Six species are recognized, of which, A. (E). denticularia sp. nov. is described as new to science from China. One new synonym is established based on morphological and genetic similarity: A. (E.) flavomacularia Leech, 1897 (=A. (E.) perimelaina Wehrli, 1933 syn. nov.). Results of DNA barcoding for Epicterodes are briefly discussed. Diagnoses for all the species are provided and illustrations of adults, genitalia and distribution map are presented.  相似文献

All 44 described species of the subgenus Acanthosentis Varma & Datta, 1929 are recognised as valid. These include two new species, Acanthogyrus (Acanthosentis)alternatspinus n. sp. from Rhodeus ocellatus ocellatus (Kner) (Cyprinidae) and A. (A.) parareceptaclis n. sp. from Cobitis biwae Jordan & Snyder (Cobitidae) in the Lake Biwa drainage, Japan. These are the first representatives of the subgenus Acanthosentis recorded from Japan. Most other species are found in the Indian subcontinent, but a few have been reported from China, elsewhere in Asia, Africa, Europe and Central America. Only A. (A.) alternatspinus has the lateral proboscis hooks in the apical and middle circles markedly displaced posteriorly but of equal size to the other hooks in the same circles and multi-branched lemnisci. Acanthogyrus (A.) parareceptaclis uniquely possesses parareceptacle structures in both sexes as well as a pair of cone-shaped genital jackets flanking the vagina (vaginal sleeve). Two new names are provided: Acanthogyrus (Acanthosentis) adriaticus nom. nov. for A. (A.) lizae Orecchia, Paggi & Radujkovic, 1988 nec Wang, 1896, and A. (A.) cheni nom. nov. for A. (A.) coiliae (Yamaguti) sensu Chen et al. (1973). A review of the species composition of Acanthosentis is provided and a key to its species and zoogeographical notes are included.  相似文献

The genus Jacquinia in the Antilles and South America is revised. Twenty-two native and one introduced species are recognised. In the Greater Antilles, 11 species (six endemic) occur in Cuba, eight in Hispaniola (two endemic), five in Jamaica (two endemic), and four in Puerto Rico (none endemic). Two species (none endemic) occur in the Lesser Antilles and five (four endemic) in South America. Eighteen species are native to the Antilles and of these one, J. arborea , is shared with Central America and one, J. amzillaris , is shared with South America. No species is shared between South and Central America. One new combination, J. frutescens , is made. Several species are illustrated and distribution maps for all species are presented. A key to the species in the Antilles and South America and an index to all combinations published in Jacquinia are provided.  相似文献

Several contributions to the Neotropical pteridophyte flora are made in this paper with the range extensions for four species of Adiantum, two species of Doryopteris and one species of Eriosorus. The species concerned are: A. polyphyllum Willd. for Nicaragua and Costa Rica; A. trichochlaenum Mickel et Beitel for Guatemala and Costa Rica; A. villosissimum Mett. ex Kuhn for Costa Rica; A. wilesianum Hook. for Nicaragua; D. nobilis (T. Moore) C. Chr. for Costa Rica, Colombia and Venezuela; D. redivida Fée for Panama; and E. hirtus (Kunth) Copel. for Costa Rica. The concept of D. pedata (L.) Fée is redefined.  相似文献

The distributional patterns and diversity of the diaptomid calanoid copepods were analysed to assess the faunistic affinity of North and South America with respect to Mexico and Central America. In the Neotropical region, the most speciose genera of Diaptomidae are Leptodiaptomus and Mastigodiaptomus. The former genus is a Nearctic form, and Mastigodiaptomus is Neotropical. Based on the current distribution of their diversity, it is probable that these genera radiated into Mexico and Central America from North America and the insular Caribbean, respectively. Arctodiaptomus dorsalis is a primarily Palaearctic taxon, it is widely distributed between North and Central America. This species probably radiated in the Americas as a Tethyan derivate. Prionodiaptomus is the only member of the highly diverse South American diaptomid fauna that has expanded beyond the subcontinent. Despite the high diversity present in South America, its influence in Mexico and Central America appears to be weak; this is probably a consequence of the geologically recent union of the two main subcontinental landmasses. Mexico shares 33% of its species with NA, and no species are shared between NA and SA. For the Diaptomidae, the Nearctic influence is strongest in Mexico. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
