The family Epideigmatidae is revised. New members of this family from the Lower Permian of Russia: Vilvaptera permyakovae, gen. et sp. nov. (Vilva locality, Artinskian Stage, Perm Region) and Tshekardeigma rasnitsyni, gen. et sp. nov. (Chekarda locality, Kungurian Stage, Perm Region) are described. Paraphenopterum unicolor Storozhenko, 1992 (Soyana locality, Kazanian Stage, Arkhangelsk Region) is redescribed. The family Stenoneuritidae is regarded as a synonym of Epideigmatidae; the genera Fayoliella Meunier, 1908 (Upper Carboniferous of France), Fabreciella Carpenter, 1934 (Upper Carboniferous of the USA), and Turbopterum Kukalová, 1964 (Lower Permian of the Czech Republic) are transferred to Epideigmatidae. Fabreciella allegheniensis Carpenter, 1934 is synonimized under F. pennsylvanica Carpenter, 1934.  相似文献

Micromorphology and surface sculpture of seed-coats of about 900 species ofCactaceae out of 120 genera (sensuBackeberg 1976) were examined by light and scanning electron microscopy. A survey of the seed coat characteristics (forms of testa cells, wall sculpturings, cuticular fold patterns etc.) is given. A terminology for the taxonomic application of these microstructures is proposed and their taxonomic significance is discussed.

SYNOPSIS Eimeria angusta Allen, 1934 and E. bonasae Allen, 1934 are redescribed from a ruffed grouse Bonasa umbellus. Oocysts of E. angusta were ellipsoidal to elongate ovoid, had micropyles and were 28-37 by 15-19 μ (mean 32.5 by 17.1 μ), with a length-width ratio of 1.67-2.19 (mean 1.91). Eimeria bonasae oocysts were spherical to subspherical and 18-25 by 18-23 μ (mean 21.6 by 20.6), with a length-width ratio of 1.00-1.16 (mean 1.05).  相似文献

The architectonics of spines and hair was studied in Neacomys spinosus, Tokudaia osimensis, Arvicanthis somalicus, Leopoldamys sabanus, L. edwardsi, Maxomys moi, M. surifer, Niviventer fulvescens, N. confucianus, N. cremoriventer, Acomys cahirinus, A. somalica, Hystrix indica, H. cristata, Atherurus macrourus, Erethizon dorsatum, Proechimys steerei, and Lonchotrix emiliae. The presence of a dorsal longitudinal furrow covered by a modified cuticle is a common structural feature of spines in all studied species except E. dorsatum, H. indica, and H. cristata. The frontal surface of the mosaic (scales located side by side) and terrace cuticle (steps between scales) varies in different species from smooth to rib-folded. A terminology has been proposed to describe the main structures of spine and hair. The adaptive significance of the spine architectonics in rodents is discussed.  相似文献

I compared the type specimens of Drilus attenuatus Pic, 1914 and D. attenuatus var. subparallelus Pic, 1934 from Rhodes. Both taxa are redescribed and the latter is given the full species status based on the different external morphology and male genitalia. Altogether, four species are currently known from the island of Rhodes: Drilus attenuatus Pic, 1914, D. bleusei (Olivier, 1913), D. rufipes (Baudi di Selve, 1871), and D. subparallelus Pic, 1934 stat. rev. All species but D. rufipes are endemic to the island. An identification key to the males of Drilus species found in Rhodes is provided.  相似文献

Several agarolytic Bacillus strains have been isolated. Their properties agree with those described by Wieringa (1941) for Bacillus agar-exedens. These strains are the first reisolates since the original cultures were lost. A second group of isolates is related to the agarolytic B. palustris var. gelaticus of Sickles and Shaw (1934). B. agar-exedens requires carbohydrates for growth. In mineral-glucose media growth is inhibited by peptone at pH values of about 7 or less. Under alkaline conditions no inhibition by peptone is observed. A method for the enrichment of B. agar-exedens is described.  相似文献

The genusAcanthopsoides Fowler, 1934 is revised;Neacanthopsis Smith, 1945 is placed in the synonymy ofAcanthopsoides. In addition toAcanthopsoides gracilis Fowler, 1934 andAcanthopsoides gracilentus (Smith, 1945), four new species are described in the genus. These areA. delphax of the Salween, Chao Phraya and Mekong river basins,A. hapalias of the Mekong River basin,A. molobrion from peninsular Thailand, Malaysia and Borneo, andA. robertsi from the Kapuas River basin and adjacent areas, Borneo. The known distribution of the genus includes most of Southeast Asia.Acanthopsoides gracilis, A. gracilentus, and Adelphax are sympatric: Amolobrion and A. robertsi in the Kapuas River basin andA. gracilentus, A. delphax andA. hapalias in the Mekong River basin may be also. The increase in the diversityof Acanthopsoides recognized herein may be indicative of the level of the unknown diversity of the Southeast Asian freshwater fish fauna in general.  相似文献

Luciaella ivanovae n. g., n. sp. (Proteocephalidea: Peltidocotylinae) is proposed to accommodate a new cestode from a siluroid fish, the manduvé Ageneiosus inermis (Linnaeus) (syn. A. brevifilis Valenciennes) (Auchenipteridae) from the Colastiné River, a tributary of the Paraná River, in Argentina. The new genus is placed in the Peltidocotylinae because it has a medullary ovary with projections into the dorsal cortex, cortical vitelline follicles and testes, a cortical uterine stem, and uterine branches penetrating the medulla and usually as far as the dorsal cortex. Luciaella can be distinguished from all other peltidocotyline genera by the following combination of characters: a quadrangular scolex with four biloculate suckers, each of which has a cap-peak-like structure situated on the anterior margin; the absence of a metascolex; vitelline follicles arranged in two lateral rows which are crescent-shaped in transverse section; testes distributed in two dorsal fields connected anteriorly and sometimes posteriorly; and a vagina which is always anterior to the cirrus-sac and overlaps the convoluted vas deferens. Filiform microtriches are present on all tegumental surfaces, with short filiform microtriches on the scolex and long filiform microtriches on the proliferation zone and on both immature and mature proglottides. The diagnosis of the Peltidocotylinae Woodland, 1934 given by Rego (1994) is amended. L. ivanovae is the fourth proteocephalidean described from A. inermis and the third recorded in this fish host from Argentina.  相似文献

Examination of the water mite collection made by the authors in the territory of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) in 2006 has revealed 43 mite species of the phalanx Hydrachnidia, belonging to 19 genera and 12 families, 1 species of the phalanx Trombidia, and 2 freshwater species of the superfamily Halacaroidea, belonging to 2 genera and 1 family. All the species registered, except for two species of the phalanx Hydrachnidia (Mixobates processifer and Lebertia porosa), were recorded in the Sakha Republic for the first time. The species Aturus miyashitai Uchida, 1934 and A. parapilosus Kim et Chung, 1993 (Hydrachnidia) and the family Johnstonianidae Thor, 1935 (Trombidia) are new for the Russian fauna. The female of A. parapilosus is described for the first time.  相似文献

Pollen morphology of the Thymelaeaceae in relation to its taxonomy   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Pollen morphology of the four subfamilies of Thymelaeaceae sensu Domke (1934) was examined using LM, SEM and TEM. The variation of the exine architecture allows to distinguish four pollen types and three subtypes. Distribution of pollen types proves to be widely correlated with the occurrence of characters from wood anatomy and flower morphology. If pollen types are connected with subfamilies sensu Domke (1934), Gonystyloideae, Thymelaeoideae and Synandrodaphnoideae are stenopalynous, whereas Aquilarioideae are eurypalynous. Based on pollen morphology as well as on other characters it is evident that Aquilarioideae are not monophyletic. Its genera Aquilaria and Gyrinops are more closely related to Thymelaeoideae and Synandrodaphnoideae than to other genera of Aquilarioideae sensu Domke (1934). The remaining genera of Aquilarioideae Deltaria, Solmsia and Lethedon are most similar to Gonystyloideae and therefore are included in this subfamily, as it was suggested by Airy Shaw (1979). Furthermore, palynological and other characters favour the transfer of Octolepis from Aquilarioideae to Gonystyloideae. The re-circumscribed Aquilarioideae together with Thymelaeoideae and Synandrodaphnoideae are shown to form a monophyletic group. Received August 8, 2001 Accepted December 7, 2001  相似文献

The adult female of Ergasilus briani Markewitsch, 1933 (Crustacea: Copepoda) is redescribed using scanning electron and light microscopy. The taxonomic history of E. briani is reviewed. It is confirmed that E. briani and E. minor Halisch, 1934 are synonymous. The known distribution of E. briani in Britain is noted.  相似文献

A new genus and species of deep-sea eelpout (Zoarcidae), Barbapellis pterygalces, is herein described from a single adult female specimen carrying eggs and measuring 204 mm in total length. It was collected on the eastern Antarctic continental slope, off Terre Adélie, at ca. 1,200 m depth, on muddy bottom. Barbapellis is placed in the subfamily Gymnelinae and can be distinguished from all other genera by morphological characters unusual in zoarcids as well as by molecular barcoding. The genus is characterized by the presence of a complex system of cephalic skin crests and flaps, especially well developed around the mouth. A new terminology is proposed for the eleven crests and sevenfolds described. The skin folds may be used for foraging on muddy sea bottoms. The genus is also characterized by large, flexible, and highly palmate pectoral fins. The designation of the new genus is discussed.  相似文献

The aim of the present article was to contribute to the systematics of the leydigi-like species of Leydigia consisting of a few (probably 3) formal species with: (1) a large basal spine on the postabdominal claw (as long as claw thickness at the base); (2) a short setulation at anterior margin of labral keel; (3) no longitudinal striation on the female valves; (4) at least three lateral setae in each fascicle on the postabdomen; (5) three large lateral setae on exopodite III. The morphology of L. leydigi (Schoedler, 1863) and L. louisi Jenkin, 1934 are redescribed, and type material of L. macrodonta Sars, 1916 is studied. In contrast to previous suggestions (Jenkin, 1934; Smirnov, 1971), I found that: (1) L. louisi is a valid species, not a subspecies of L. macrodonta; (2) L. macrodonta is not a member of the L. leydigi-group. The third member of leydigi-group, Leydigia macrodonta longiseta Chen Shou-zhong, 1992, was described from China. It is not a subspecies of L. macrodonta, but a relative of L. leydigi; most probably, it is a valid species, but this opinion must to be confirmed by examination of original Asian material. In this article, the presence of L. leydigi in Palearctic only, and that of L. louisi in only Africa was confirmed. A new subspecies of L. louisi, found in Mexico, will be reported separately.  相似文献

The leaf beetle genera Ambrostoma Motschulsky, 1860 and Parambrostoma Chen, 1934 have been revised and now include 14 species. Two new species from Nepal are described, Parambrostoma kippenbergi sp.n. and P. medvedevi sp.n. Three new synonymies are established: Ambrostoma rugosopunctatum Chen = Ambrostoma (Parambrostoma) laosensis Kimoto & Gressitt, syn.n. , Ambrostoma rugosopunctatum Chen = Ambrostoma daccordii Medvedev, syn.n., Ambrostoma fortunei (Baly) = Ambrostoma quadriimpressum chusanica Gruev, syn.n . One species was transferred from Chrysomela Linnaeus to Ambrostoma Motschulsky: A. superbum (Thunberg), comb.n . All the species now included are described and illustrated. Microcomputer tomography was applied for the first time in a study on chrysomelid beetles. A cladistic analysis based on morphological characters of adults was conducted to reconstruct the intergeneric and interspecific phylogeny of Ambrostoma and Parambrostoma. The results show that the monophyly of both genera is well supported. Ambrostoma is widespread in East Asia, whereas Parambrostoma is restricted to the southern slope of the Himalayas, where a relatively recent and modest speciation took place.  相似文献

A new species of Podocotyloides is described from Sillago bassensis caught off the coast of Western Australia. This is the second report of a species of this genus from Australian waters but the first of a new species. P. victori n. sp. is one of four species whose vitelline follicles extend into the forebody. It is distinguished from the other three species with vitelline follicles in the forebody by its relatively shorter forebody, smaller eggs and bipartite seminal vesicle. Pedunculotrema Fischthal & Thomas, 1970 is reduced to synonymy with Podocotyloides Yamaguti, 1934.  相似文献
