Salvia tonaticensis is described and illustrated as a new species to science. It is known from the extreme southern portion of the Estado de Mexico and northern Guerrero, Mexico. It belongs to section Polystachyae; however, unlike the species of the section hitherto known, it possesses simple, bifurcate and trifurcate multicellular hairs on the stems, abaxial leaf surface, petioles, and inflorescence rachis. The flowers are also larger than those of other species of the section, and the calyces are densely tomentose with purple or white multicellular hairs that vary from simple to dendriform. Within the section this species shows some morphological similarities to S. connivens.  相似文献

Justicia masiaca, a new species endemic to northwestern Mexico, is described, illustrated, and compared with the morphologically similarJ. longii. A new species,Deprea nubicola, is described. Although the corolla is similar in some aspects to that ofD. bitteriana, D. nubicola is distinguished by its diminutive leaves, a low density of hairs in the corolla annulus, glabrous filaments, and a distinctive long-pedicellate, subulate-lobed fruiting calyx.Deprea nubicola shares withD. ecuatoriana a fruiting calyx that tightly invests the berry. The distribution ofD. nubicola is limited to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of northern Colombia. A key to the species ofDeprea is provided.  相似文献

A new genus of Phytolaccaceae,Nowickea, includes two new species,N. xolocotzii andN. glabra, each known only from its type locality in the states of Jalisco and Morelos, Mexico, respectively.Nowickea exhibits close relationship withPhytolacca by a robust herbaceous growth habit, 7- to 10-carpellate ovary, carpels with terminal, basally connate styles, basal placentation, and fleshy fruits. It is distinguished by green, subequal, herbaceous, and often lanceolate tepals 3 to 12 mm long, ovary and fruit elevated on a well developed gynophore, obovoid or obpyriform fruits, and narrowly ellipsoid seeds.  相似文献
