Abstract. Germination responses of redroot pigweed ( Amaranthus retroflexus L.) seeds to ethylene were determined at 25, 30, 35, or 40° C after preincubation at various temperatures (15–35° C) for different periods (0.5–32 d). After 7 d preincubation, seeds showed a log-linear germination response to ethylene concentration in most of the temperature treatments. Sensitivity to ethylene increased with longer preincubation; response thresholds of 0.03−0.09 cm3 m−3 were observed after 32 d, compared to 0.18−1.6 cm3 m−3 after 7 d of preincubation. Preincubation at 15 or 20° C generally enhanced germinability, whereas 25 or 30° C produced secondary dormancy, which was readily broken with ethylene. Temperature during preincubation also significantly influenced the slope of the dose-response curve. The responses of preincubated redroot pigweed seeds to ethylene suggested that, in the field, seeds would probably not lose their sensitivity to this gas during prolonged burial in soil. 相似文献

Abstract Fresh dormant redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) seeds were buried 5 cm deep in the field at Stoneville, MS in November 1981. Potassium nitrate (200 kg ha 1) or nothing was applied to the soil in the fall of 1981 and the late winter of 1982. Seeds were recovered at intervals under darkness during the following 2 years and tested for responses to ethylene, temperature, light and carbon dioxide. During the first overwintering, nitrate enhanced loss of primary dormancy and increases seed sensitivity to temperature, light and ethylene. The loss of dormancy reached a maximum at 25 to 30 weeks (early summer) after burial. Examination of the recovered seeds indicated that about 80% of the non-treated seeds and 98% of the nitrate-treated seeds germinated in situ during the period of maximum loss of dormancy. Thus, after one overwintering period, about 20% of the original buried seed population remained dormant in nontreted soil and 2% remained dormant in the nitratetreated soil. After the second overwintering, the percentages of dormant seeds remaining in nontreated or treated soil were both only 1–2%. Nitrate reduced dormancy and enhanced germination in early summer following the first overwintering. Regardless of treatment, the remaining 1 2% of seeds in soil after the second year were of low sensitivity to the germination stimuli (ethylene, temperature, light) and constituted the long-lived portion of the original seed population. 相似文献

Abstract. Ethylene was found to promote two distinct processes during germination of redroot pigweed (Amarantus retroflexus L.) seeds: embryo expansion that splits the seed coat (incomplete germination), and radicle penetration through the more elastic endosperm (complete germination). The two events can be separated in time by subjecting seeds to low water potential or low CO2 levels, which arrest germination of some seeds at the incomplete stage. Ethylene applications to incompletely germinated seeds promote complete germination, with a response threshold near 0.02 cm3 m?3 and saturation near 0.5 cm3 m?3. Higher ethylene concentrations (0.5 to 50 cm3 m?3) given during the first day of seed imbibition also increase the percentage of seeds which initiate embryo expansion and split the seed coat. Light and elevated CO2 also promote radicle penetration of the endosperm in seeds incubated under water stress. The results support the view that the germination pause at the incomplete stage is an adaptation to environmental stresses that can be overcome with exogenous ethylene or certain other stimuli. 相似文献

利用改进的差时播种共培法,以麦田伴生恶性杂草播娘蒿为对照,在实验室条件下研究反枝苋根系分泌物及其不同浓度残枝浸提液对小麦、玉米、油菜种子萌发及生长的影响.结果显示:(1)反枝苋幼苗的根系分泌物能够显著抑制作物根长和苗高的生长;(2)反枝苋不同浓度浸提液均能抑制作物种子的萌发,其抑制作用随浓度的增加而增强;(3)除0.025 g·mL-1处理对小麦根长和苗高、玉米苗高有促进作用外,其余各浓度反枝苋浸提液对作物幼苗的根长和苗高有不同程度的抑制,且对根长的抑制作用更强;(4)反枝苋对作物幼苗的抑制作用强于恶性杂草播娘蒿,风险评估定量分析结果认定反枝苋为陕西省高度危险性植物. 相似文献

根据野外95个样方的调查数据,运用2×2列联表的χ2检验、Jaccard关联指数、Pearson相关系数和Spearman秩相关系数对山西省中南部地区反枝苋群落的25个优势种,共300个种对的种间关联性和相关性进行分析。研究结果表明:1)群落总体呈负相关趋势,优势种的分布相对独立,群落结构较为松散,显著和极显著关联的种对较少;2)χ2检验与关联度指数有机结合才能更为准确的反映种间关系;3)Spearman秩相关系数灵敏度高,分析结果较χ2检验与Pearson相关系数更为合理准确;4)根据25个优势种对环境的适应方式和主导生态因素结合PCA排序,将它们划分为4个生态种组,各生态种组内的种对具有相同的资源利用方式和生态要求。 相似文献

采用悬空气法研究了在入侵植物反枝苋(Amaranthus retroflexus L.)水浸提液和挥发油作用下,黄瓜根缘细胞活性、根冠果胶甲基酯酶(PME)、根尖过氧化氢酶(CAT)、过氧化物酶(POD)、超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)以及丙二醛(MDA)含量的变化规律.结果表明:反枝苋水浸提液对黄瓜根的生长无显著性影响而挥发油显著抑制黄瓜根的生长,且随浓度增大抑制作用显著增强.PME活性随着水浸提液浓度的增大呈先上升后下降趋势,而随着挥发油浓度的升高呈现逐渐上升的趋势;水浸提液和挥发油均降低了对根缘细胞的存活率,这种抑制作用随浓度的增加而增大;随着处理液浓度增大,黄瓜根尖中MDA含量、CAT活性整体表现为增加,SOD活性先升高后降低,POD活性与对照差异不显著.反枝苋挥发油的化感效应大于水浸提液的化感效应. 相似文献

Dormant Amaranthus retroflexus seeds do not germinate in the dark at temperatures below 35°C. Fully dormant seeds germinate only at 35–40°C whereas non-dormant ones germinate within a wider range of temperatures (15 to 40°C). 以黄瓜为实验材料,采用悬空气培养法研究了不同发育期反枝苋水浸提液对根缘细胞的化感效应.结果表明:在反枝苋水浸提液作用下,黄瓜根果胶甲基酯酶(PME)活性升高,但随着水浸提液浓度的升高,这种促进效应逐渐降低;而黄瓜根缘细胞存活率随着水浸提液浓度的升高而下降.相同发育期反枝苋不同部位的化感作用差异不显著,不同发育时期反枝苋化感作用差异较为明显,其化感作用以幼苗期最强,现蕾期次之,成熟期最弱.推测化感作用是反枝苋发育初期取得竞争优势,迅速占领生态位的原因之一. 相似文献

研究了生长于不同生境下的沙芥(Pugionium cornutum(L.)Gaertn.)和斧翅沙芥(Pugionium dolabratum Maxim.)种子萌发对光照和温度的响应。结果表明:沙芥和斧翅沙芥种子在光下萌发受到显著(P0.05)的抑制作用,其中沙芥种子萌发受光的抑制作用强于斧翅沙芥种子。在黑暗10—40℃恒温条件下,沙芥和斧翅沙芥种子在15—35℃范围内均可萌发,在15℃和35℃下沙芥种子的萌发要优于斧翅沙芥种子;其种子分别在25℃和30℃下达到最佳的萌发响应,在此条件下斧翅沙芥种子的萌发特性优于沙芥种子。在黑暗变温条件下,沙芥和斧翅沙芥种子在20/30℃(12h/12h)下达到最佳的萌发响应,此处理下的萌发率高于其各自最佳恒温处理下的萌发率,其萌发后幼苗下胚轴和胚根的长度较最佳恒温处理有明显的下降,但它们的干重却差异较小,说明变温处理有利于两种种子的萌发和形成强壮的幼苗。综上所述,沙芥和斧翅沙芥种子在黑暗和20/30℃变温条件下有利于种子萌发和幼苗建成。 相似文献

This study focused on characterizing chemically and evaluating in vitro allelopathic and bioherbicidal potential of secondary metabolites extracted from the stem of Cuscuta campestris in seed germination, early seedling growth and early plant growth of Amaranthus retroflexus and Portulaca oleracea. The combined effects of stem extract and a reduced dose of herbicide metribuzin were also examined. Plant extract contained 17 phenolic compounds and the most abundant phenols were flavonoids: quercetin, (+)-catechin, daidzin, luteolin, and rutin. The seeds of P. oleracea were less sensitive than the seeds of A. retroflexus. The seed bioassay confirmed the inhibitory effect of stem extract on germination and early growth of both weed seedlings at concentrations of 0.75 % and 1 %, and a minor inhibitory effect in the plant bioassay. On the other hand, a synergy of C. campestris stem extract and metribuzin was revealed, as their combination achieved better results in the control of both weed species. Based on obtained data C. campestris stem extract could be a potential source of natural-based weed control molecules. 相似文献

Freshly harvested, dormant seeds of Amaranthus retroflexus were unable to germinate at 25 and 35 °C. To release their dormancy at the above temperatures, the seeds were stratified at a constant temperature (4 °C) under laboratory conditions or at fluctuating temperatures in soil or by outdoor burial in soil. Fully dormant, or seeds stratified or buried (2006/2007 and 2007/2008) for various periods were treated with exogenous gibberellic acid (GA3), ethephon and abscisic acid (ABA). Likewise, the effects of these regulators, applied during stratification, on seed germination were determined. The results indicate that A. retroflexus seed dormancy can be released either by stratification or by autumn–winter burial. The effect of GA3 and ethylene, liberated from ethephon, applied after various periods of stratification or during stratification, depends on dormancy level. GA3 did not affect or only slightly stimulated the germination of non-stratified, fully dormant seeds at 25 and 35 °C respectively. Ethylene increased germination at both temperatures. Seed response to GA3 and ethylene at 25 °C was increased when dormancy was partially removed by stratification at constant or fluctuating temperatures or autumn–winter burial. The response to GA3 and ethylene increased with increasing time of stratification. The presence of GA3 and ethephon during stratification may stimulate germination at 35 °C. Thus, both GA3 and ethylene can partially substitute the requirement for stratification or autumn–winter burial. Both hormones may also stimulate germination of secondary dormant seeds, exhumed in September. The response to ABA decreased in parallel with an increasing time of stratification and burial up to May 2007 or March 2008. Endogenous GAn, ethylene and ABA may be involved in the control of dormancy state and germination of A. retroflexus. It is possible that releasing dormancy by stratification or partial burial is associated with changes in ABA/GA and ethylene balance and/or sensitivity to these hormones. 相似文献

Abstract. The germination responses of a nondormant seed population of Amaranthus patulus Bertol, at constant sub-optimal temperatures in the range of 10–34°C were analysed through a detailed time-course study. Although a final germination percentage of nearly 100% was attained at temperatures above 18°C, it fell abruptly to zero with decreasing temperature from 17 to 10°C. The final germination percentage, v. temperature plotted on a normal probability scale yielded a straight line, indicating normality of the lower limit temperature within seed population with an estimated mean of 13.75°C and a standard deviation of 1.50°C. Simple linear relationships were obtained between the temperature and the germination rates, i.e., the reciprocals of the time taken to germinate by the subpopulations with 20–80% germination. The linear relationships were characterized by similar base temperatures or theoretical limit temperatures of about 11°C but there was a variation in the required 'thermal times' (θ), the distribution of which could be approximated for the seed population by the following distribution function: where m is the median of the distribution and A is a parameter characterizing the pattern of the distribution. When the germination rates were calculated after subtracting 10–14 h from the time actually consumed in germination, linear Arrhenius relationships were obtained. The apparent activation energy estimated from the linear regression of Arrhenius plot was approximately 100 kJ mol−1 with all 20–80% subpopulations. 相似文献

为了探明高温胁迫对苋菜(Amaranthus tricolor L.)光合过程的影响,用不同温度(25、30、35、40、45℃)处理苋菜植株1h后,随即测定了其叶绿素荧光动力学参数和快速光响应曲线特征参数的变化.结果表明:40℃以上高温胁迫下,苋菜叶片的光系统Ⅱ(PSⅡ)潜在光化学效率(Fv/Fo)、最大光化学效率(Fv/Fm)下降;最大荧光(Fm)、光合电子传递速率(ETR)、PSⅡ实际光化学效率(Yield)、光化学淬灭系数(qP)也均有所下降;而初始荧光(F.)和非光化学淬灭系数(NPQ)在40℃以上高温胁迫下显著上升.叶绿素荧光快速光响应曲线测定结果表明,初始斜率α、最大相对电子传递速率ETRmax和半饱和光强Ik在40℃以上高温胁迫下有所下降.研究表明,40℃以上高温胁迫对苋菜的光能的吸收、转换、光合电子传递和强光耐受能力等均有一定的影响. 相似文献

Abstract. The mechanism involved in a bimodal germination-temperature response in pre-soaked cocklebur (Xanthium pennsylvanicum Wallr.) seeds was studied with special reference to adenylate metabolism. Exposure to either low (optimal at 8°C) or high (optimal at 34°C) temperature which was effective in inducing the germination of the seeds brought about the accumulation of ATP in them. The ATP level remained unchanged at temperatures around 23°C. Pretreatment with KCN, stimulating germination even at 23°C, subsequently increased the ATP content, total adenylate pool and energy charge (EC) in the axial tissue prior to germination above those of the untreated controls. The lower the treatment temperature, the greater the inhibitory effect of KCN on ATP formation. An increase in germination following an increasing duration of pre-soaking at 8°C was comparable to increasing both the ATP content and total adenylate pool of axes, but not the EC value. Similarly, changes in germination following an increased exposure duration at 8°C correlated with changes in ATP content rather than EC value in the axes. Unlike the case of chilling, an increase in ATP level in response to 34°C was greater in the early period of water imbibition, during which times its germination-stimulating effect appeared more striking than in the later period, and it occurred without a concomitant rise in EC value because of the increased supply of AMP. Such a supply of AMP was reduced in the presence of benzohydroxamic acid or propyl gallale, inhibitors of an alternative respiratory pathway. It was thus concluded that both low temperature, coupled with warm temperature, and high temperature, by itself, can induce seed germination by increasing the ATP level as well as the total adenylate pool, but not the EC value, in the axial tissue. Further, that increases in both the ATP level and the adenylate pool especially are required for seed germination to proceed, probably depending on the activities of the cytochrome and alternative respiration pathways, respectively. 相似文献

对不同光照和温度条件对条叶百合(Lilium callosum Sieb.et Zucc.)、大花卷丹[L. leichtlinii Hook.f var.maximowicaii(Regel)Baker]、有斑百合[L.concolor Salisb.var.pulchellum(Fisch.)Regel]、川百合[L.davidii Duchartre)、毛百合(L. dauricum Ker-Gawl.)和东北百合(L.distichum Nakai)种子萌发的影响进行了研究。结果表明:光照对有斑百合、川百合和毛百合种子萌发有明显促进作用,可缩短种子萌发时间,提高种子萌发率。24h光照下种子萌发完全所需天数比12h光照少,种子萌发率以24h光照最佳。避光条件下温度对大花卷丹、有斑百合、毛百合、川百合及东北百合种子萌发率和萌发速度有影响,对条叶百合种子影响最大,其种子萌发最适温度为20℃,5~6d开始萌动,2~3周萌发完全,随着温度的升高或降低其种子萌发率下降。光照条件下,变温对种子萌发影响不明显。子叶留土类型的毛百合种子有二次休眼现象,9000lx光照能代替低温解除二次休眼。经不同前处理的百合种子萌发率和萌发速度不同。 相似文献

Imbibition of seeds in ethrel broadens the temperature optimum for germination but does not prevent the development of secondary dormancy at temperatures of 35°C and greater and 15°C and lower. 通过对镉超积累苋菜品种天星米铁转运蛋白基因( IRT1)的克隆、序列及表达分析,旨在为植物修复镉污染土壤奠定基础.依据同源克隆原理,通过RACE技术克隆苋菜IRT1基因及生物信息学方法分析基因序列结构和功能,Northern杂交研究基因表达.苋菜IRT1基因cDNA全长1135 bp,包含完整的阅读框,编码322个氨基酸.苋菜IRT1蛋白与已知铁转运蛋白相似性在53.70%-63.04%,具有铁转运蛋白典型的功能结构特征,即N端含有1个信号肽、氨基酸序列上具有完整的ZIP家族功能结构域( Pfam:Zip)和7个跨膜结构域(TMs).苋菜IRT1蛋白还具有1个COG0428超级家族(转运二价金属离子功能)、2个蛋白激酶C磷酸化位点和2个酪蛋白Ⅱ磷酸化位点.低铁胁迫时苋菜根中IRT1基因表达量增加,加镉处理没有改变IRT1基因表达量.因此,推断苋菜IRT1基因是ZIP家族的一员,具有转运二价金属离子功能,将基因在GenBank中注册,序列号为:GU363501,命名为AmIRT1. 相似文献

运用直播法,研究应用人工气候箱控制温度和土壤含水量对野生青冈栎种子萌发和幼苗生长的影响。结果表明:在12h光照条件下,青冈栎种子在变温为10℃/15℃时,萌发率很低,仅为(12±12.29)%;变温为30℃/35℃时,萌发率达最大,为(81±13.7)%。土壤含水量为30%~40%时,萌发率为(79±15.9)%;土壤含水量为90%~100%时,萌发率为(56.67±19.36)%。青冈栎种子萌发呈现出迅速萌发和推迟萌发的特点;温度对青冈栎幼苗的苗高、叶长和叶宽影响显著,对幼苗的地径、叶片数量影响不显著。恒温下,不同梯度土壤含水量处理对幼苗的苗高、地径、叶长、宽影响不显著。 相似文献

Abstract. Pre-imbibed cocklebur ( Xanthium penn-sylvanicum Wallr.) seeds displayed bimodal germination-temperature responses with two optima at 8 and 33° C. Such germination responses occurred subsequent to bimodal respiration-temperature upsurges at lower and higher temperature regions. At lower temperatures, cocklebur seeds respired predominantly through a cyanide-sensitive cytochrome pathway. A rise in temperature resulted in a marked increase in flux via an alternative pathway, a propyl gallate- (PG) or benzohydroxamic-acid- (BHAM) sensitive pathway, thus resulting in an increase in the ratio of this pathway relative to the cytochrome pathway. Both an increased capacity for the alternative pathway and an increase in the ratio of this pathway to the cytochrome pathway were obtained when pre-imbibed seeds were exposed to either 8 or 33°C for a short period. The effects of low temperature were reduced as the exposure time was prolonged beyond 3d, resulting in a reduction in germination. Neither PG nor BHAM had an inhibitory effect on the chilling-induced germination, but the germination-stimulating effect of high temperatures was less pronounced in the presence of PG or BHAM. At high temperatures, on the other hand, KCN and NaN3 were ineffective or, rather, slightly inhibited germination. It was thus concluded that low and high temperatures exert their germination-stimulating effects by an essentially similar manner which increases fluxes both via the cytochrome pathway and, especially, via the alternative pathway and, as a result, raises the ratio of the latter to the former. 相似文献
